ObamaCare Train Wreck Update

Three bits of ObamaCare news today:

Half of all ObamaCare statutory deadlines have been missed.

Forever 21 is cutting the hours of some of their employees to 29.5 per week to avoid ObamaCare mandates.  These people were advised yesterday, August 18th, that their health benefits will terminate as of August 31st.

More than 100,000 New Jersey residents in a program for low-cost health insurance will lose their coverage because their plan doesn’t cover all the whistles and bells mandated by ObamaCare.  They’ll be lucky if their replacement plans only cost twice as much.

Did you vote for Obama?  Then be ashamed.  This is just a horrible thing…and it is horrible because Obama and leading Democrats cobbled together a pile of legislation and passed it without reading it or thinking through the consequences.

The effect might be Cloward-Piven, but I really don’t think that Obama, Pelosi and Reid have the wit to carry out such a plan.

I googled communism and found this site….

From, book The Naked Communist, Published 1958
In 1958, W. Cleon Skousen published a book exposing the history and goals of Communism. In his book titled The Naked Communist, he laid out the 45 goals of the Communist Party USA wanted to achieve in order to destroy American Society and its Constitutional form of Government. Amazingly in the 50 years since publishing, these goals to overthrow America have nearly all been achieved! We are seeing today at an ever faster rate the transformation of America from a Free Republic into a Socialist/ Communist Society. Hope and Change!

Since Obama was first elected in 2008 and mentioned “Obamacare” to the public it was foreseen as trouble. And the Democrats and Obama passing this rapidly with disregards to the people only to benefit their political careers is an insult to all of us. Now 5 years after he conned his way into the White House many are opening their eyes and realizing what damage he has done, not just Obamacare, but many areas of his administration. We cannot fix what was done (Obamas elections). But we can voice our opinions and keep voting to force programs like Obamacare out so we can choose our own health care at our own pace and not have it thrust upon us.

Forever 21 says (in the article) that it is not a result of ObamaCare but is a result of business decisions.

Evidence of that is that persons who currently have healthcare through Forever 21 will lose their healthcare; meaning they (Forever 21) is already paying for the health insurance that the new law mandates, taking away something they already provide is a business decision, not one predicated on a mandate to provide what they already provide.

Besides, employers were given an illegal one-year extension to comply.

So this doesn’t seem to fall at Obama’s feet. It’s a shame, and the entire economic mess does fall at his big feet, but not the ObamaCare part.

Yeah, except we provide 80% of our employees’ insurance premiums and the cost of these premiums is going to go up next year, we are told, as much as 40%. A mandate to provide what we already provide is one thing—-a mandate to do it at 40% more is quite another, and THAT is something directly linked to Obamacare.

And I thought that the extension only applies to some businesses.

It can’t be anything but an effect of ObamaCare – with Forever 21 just wanting to stay out of controversy.

Businesses make these kinds of decisions every day of the week, they cut benefits, they close locations, they lay off staff; not everything is related to Obama.

No doubt raising premium costs were a big part of the decision but premiums have been raising exponentially for years.

These are non-union non-contract positions; Forever 21 had the ability to reduce their share of the premium cost (remember Obama gave them a waiver), the needed savings goes beyond just medical insurance; there’s vacation accruals, worker’s compensation premiums, unemployment insurance, support programs, general liability insurance, employer 401(k) contributions if any; all of these are lowered with a part-time workforce.

The decision is much more about the overall finances of the company and the short-term savings. Did ObamaCare cause the premiums to rise? Likely, had ObamaCare not been enacted would Forever 21 still find itself in this position and make the exact same decision?

Ever wonder why people write “exact same”? Like “Same difference” or “a whole nother”, it just don’t make no sense at all.
