Understanding Obama, and the Liberals

Now, I don’t know if any of this is true, but I’d bet money that it is. Here are some things I bet that Obama – and most liberals – believe:

That ancient Egypt was made up of black Africans and is the fountainhead of Greek civilization.

That Greece and Rome were relatively insignificant in the development of higher civilization, having stolen what they knew from other, non-white civilizations.

That Islamic civilization really did advance science and learning.

That Judeo-Christian, Western civilization is no great shakes – it’s science and learning were hijacked from other civilizations and it’s contribution to the world is war, pestilence, imperialism, racism, sexism and slavery.

Given this, it is no surprise that Obama scorns Israel and Britain and seeks closer alliance with entities like the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, or the mullah’s in Iran…nor surprising at all that faced with the easy task of closing our borders to people from Ebola-infected areas, he says “no”. We’re not all that great – in fact, we’re terrible and the non-Western world is great. We have everything to learn from them, and must un-learn all that our Judeo-Christian civilization has taught us. We must do this if we are to survive, because only by placing ourselves at the feet of superior, non-Western civilizations can we develope the basic decency to be worthy of survival.

All through Obama’s Presidency we have seen this – and we see it very often in the overall liberal mindset. Think about it: what we consider a bizarre ignorance on the left when they ignore viciously anti-woman activities in Islam, they don’t even see a problem: Islam is by its non-Western nature superior to us, and thus there simply can’t be anything wrong in their actions. If we see something wrong, then we’re just projecting our own evil on them and, indeed, if they are doing evil it is because they are foolishly emulating us. And the sooner we get in step with them, the sooner we’ll understand the real truth of what is going on, and improve ourselves up to their level, and whatever evil they are doing will cease once we stop exporting our evil to them.

Of course, there is raw, practical politics to deal with – and so we’re lobbing a few bombs towards ISIS to appease the hill-apes in the United States who don’t understand that ISIS, if it is evil, is our fault to begin with. Obama will some times make a move which is rational but only to keep his political viability strong enough to advance his prime desire: moving the United States away from a western civilization orientation and towards a non-western – moving us towards a mind-set, that is, which will despise what we have been and only live for the day when we become the “other”; when we will no longer bitterly cling to our guns and our Bibles and will become was wise and far-seeing as the peoples of non-West.

If Obama and his liberals get their way we will no longer be the United States we have been. The choice is rather stark for us: do we love being Americans? Do we love being of the West? Do we love having as a basis of our laws and customs Judeo-Christian ethics? Then we’d better figure out a way to completely remove the left from the ability to affect policy. If we don’t, then this United States of America will be fundamentally transformed, as promised.

It is what they are told – and it is important to remember that they are not told to think about it but just to mindlessly regurgitate whatever the professors say. To me, any college degree not earned in just a few liberal arts colleges in the past 20 years which is not in a hard science is functionally worthless – it just says that someone can repeat what someone told them over a four year period.

Too many “Ward Churchill” type professors who have accomplished nothing in the private sector, oppose anyone who has accomplished something in the private sector, considers America to be a flawed, racist country, yet delights in the pensions and the comforts this country provides.

The biggest problem with the starry-eyed lemmings who think that savaging their own country gives them intellectual gravitas is that it demands a total disconnect between reality and the fantasy. Among other things that have to be ignored or dismissed are the creation and use of eunuchs, the sexual slavery of harems, slavery in general, female genital mutilation, brutal treatment of women in general, the slaughter of millions for nothing more than having differing religious beliefs, predation upon other civilizations (think Barbary pirates) instead of developing their own resources, illiteracy and crippling poverty.

When one of these people turns in her cell phone and gives up texting, tweeting, selfies video recording and so on, stops riding in cars or buses, stops using electricity, stops counting on refrigerated food,, I might give her credit for living her creed. Oh, I know the excuse is that the West “just built on” the mathematics and science of these marvels of advanced thought in Muslim countries, but the simple fact is, if there was a foundation to “build on” then it should have been built on there.

Reality is that it is not just Western philosophy but CHRISTIAN Western philosophy that is responsible for the greatest art, the greatest music, the greatest architecture, the greatest medical advancements, the greatest scientific achievements, ever known to Man. (Not that every contributor has been of a traditional Christian faith, but that the overall essence of our civilization has been made possible by the underlying tenets of our Judeo-Christian faiths and very often by the support of established religion.)

The same principles of physics and natural law have always existed all over the world, yet we have no Ali Edison, or Fatima Curie, or Orville and Wilbur Mohammed, or Jonas Bin Salk, or Hussein Michaelangelo, or Ahmed Hubble. Islam not only does not produce greatness, it inhibits it. The only striving toward greatness within Islam is advancement in the areas of killing and oppression. Whatever scientific or mathematical or philosophical achievement happened in Islamic nations a few centuries ago stopped there, hit the wall of Islam and withered.

It is empty-headed platitudes such as those mentioned in the thread article that brand the speakers as empty-headed little parrots.

    • M. Noonan October 10, 2014 / 5:14 pm

They really just don’t know much, do they?

Even the grandeur of Islam was based upon Islam taking over, completely intact, the richest and most advanced areas of the Western world – while we’re used to thinking of Syria, Egypt and Libya as Third World pest holes, in the 7th and 8th centuries they were vastly wealthy (in fact, one of the large reservoirs which still provides Syria with water was built by the Romans in the 4th century)…Islam lucked out by (a) coming across an East Roman (Byzantine) Empire which was exhausted by 20 years of defensive war against the Persians (Iranians) and a population especially in Syria and Egypt which was alienated from the Byzantine government on sectarian matters (there were a lot of heresies present which the Imperial government was trying to suppress). Taking over this vast and very rich land and living off it, Islam appeared to glow with wealth and science…but it was all captive and couldn’t live cut off from it’s source, and the Christian population of the Muslim world (the Muslim world remained majority Christian for quite a long time after the Muslim conquest) was cut off…they couldn’t freely interact and they were increasingly burdened as decidedly second-class citizens, the wellsprings of civilization dried up, while it continued to advance in the West. And once there weren’t enough Christians to maintain trade, industry, agriculture and infrastructure, the whole Muslim world began to decline. By the 11th century, small armies of well-trained Christians (ie, the Crusaders) could penetrate the Muslim world pretty much at will…unfortunately, they weren’t quite large enough to secure permanent Christian rule.

Even the greatest of the Muslim Empires – the Turkish Ottoman Empire – was no great shakes. Merely plunging into a void which had been the Byzantine Empire from the 13th century onwards. Heck, when the Turks decided to take Constantinople (the last bastion of Christian power in the East), they had to outnumber the Christians by 10 to 1 and it still took them 6 weeks to get the job done – and they only got it done because Christians manufactured the cannon necessary to batter down Constantinople’s walls! Once the Turks hit the hard core of the Holy Roman Empire in the east and Spain in the west, they never advanced another inch.

For Islam, its been a 14 century waste of time – but don’t tell Obama and the liberals that: as far as they are concerned, the only reason we got to the Moon is because we stole Muslim science…

I have been waiting for years now for America to return to a common sense, pragmatic, results oriented approach to governing the country and according to recent polls it looks as though that day is not dar off.

    http://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2014/10/09/fox-senate-polls-n1902638

Won’t it be interesting though when a few years down the road from now we find out what went so wrong with this country. I mean how in the hell did so many hard working, God fearing, fair minded people allow this “progressive” bullshit to happen?

If we cared what “…the mindless proggies at the other blog…”believe they would still be on this blog.

  3. tiredoflibbs October 10, 2014 / 12:10 pm

Well mark, considering that obame has given the most dumbed down speeches since WW2, you can’t be far off the mark. He needs to dumb down his speeches (or he can’t reach the level of prior pResidents) for the ignorant masses. How else can he (and the left) perpetuate the crap that they try to sell us?

    https://www.vocativ.com/interactive/usa/us-politics/presidential-readability/

The left will guzzle the dumbed down talking points from the White House and repeat them, ad nauseum, until they believe it to be true. As far as the useful idiots on the left are concerned, obame did not lie when he said, “Al Qaeda are on the ropes”, “if you like your insurance, you can keep it, period.”, “I will not pass this program if it increases the deficit.” etc. etc. etcl.

It is hard to understand those who perpetuate and believe such ignorance and the blatant lies.

  4. tiredoflibbs October 10, 2014 / 5:29 pm

The mindless proggies at the other blog are falling all over themselves about this post – laughing at Mark’s assertions. All they can focus on is, “Now, I don’t know if any of this is true, but I’d bet money that it is.”

A simple search found many articles and such papers:
    From “Academia.edu”…
The Evidence for Egyptian Cultural Influence on Greek Civilization
    http://gsu.academia.edu/BernellWesley
This “academician” also posited other papers, such as The Prison Industrial Complex In The Evolution of Slavery…

So the evidence is piling up in favor of Mark’s positions and showing that the opposition is nothing but a collection of mindless useful idiots.

    • M. Noonan October 10, 2014 / 5:37 pm

LOL – I guess they aren’t thinking it over very carefully. I don’t know if Obama believes it, but I’ve come across enough liberals who do to be willing to bet that Obama does. The sort of un-historical nonsense believed on the left is astonishing.

    • Amazona October 11, 2014 / 10:04 am

And no one cares what “the mindless proggies at the other blog” say, “think” or do. They are in their own little bubble, smelling each other’s farts and praising them, and offering absolutely nothing to anyone but expositions of blind hatred and rage which they try to cloak as political discourse. You may find the site irresistible, but we don’t want their smelly little footprints here.

      • M. Noonan October 11, 2014 / 4:57 pm

What amazes me is that they still take an interest in what I write – its nice to live rent-free in their heads, I guess.

      • tiredoflibbs October 11, 2014 / 7:43 pm

Ama, I understand that you don’t want their thoughts here, as limited as they are. But their reactions fit with this topic. It is hysterical. Their “blog” has been silent for weeks. And their is a reason for it. They can’t defend the worst pResident of the United States. All hey can do is bash this blog and lie about what is written. They are banned from this blog because that is all they do.

I was giving examples of how Mark’s post is accurate and the mindless drones are typically in denial and refuse to see facts presented.

      • Retired Spook October 12, 2014 / 8:49 am

its nice to live rent-free in their heads, I guess.

        lol!

      • Amazona October 12, 2014 / 5:52 pm

After years of trying to deal with these people, to open rational dialogues with them, to engage in actual discourse, I finally accepted the fact that they have no real political philosophy whatsoever, that they are drawn to the Left because the Left not only recognizes their pathologies but validates those pathologies, being the only source of acceptance and validation pathologies like this are likely to ever find.

So none of their emoting, raging, snarling, or frantic scurrying out of their holes to freak out about what is said by rational people is of the least interest to me. I know they line up at the troughs where their minders throw the mental and intellectual slop they crave, and I know that there is no room in their minds or their hearts for anything that is not hate-based and focused on attacking the invented phantom of their misbegotten perception of “The Right”. They are purely reactive, and wholly predictable—–say something that triggers their knee-jerk spasms of incoherent rage and this rage erupts.

So? Who cares? Like all throwers of temper tantrums, they should just be ignored. They crave acknowledgment, and they feed on drawing people in to wallow in the muck with them. If you enjoy the muck, if you want to feed their pathologies, if you get something of your own out of this kind of interaction, that’s your personal business. But we have learned the lesson I have often quoted here, old cowboy wisdom.

“You don’t ever want to wrestle with a pig. You can’t do it without getting as dirty as the pig is—–and the pig LIKES it!”

      • M. Noonan October 12, 2014 / 9:59 pm

I tend to agree – didn’t want to, refused for a long time to admit it, but these people hate and despise us and wish us dead, in the end. Today on Twitter one prominent liberal was yucking it up over the fact that the first Ebola cases in the United States were in Texas – essentially, she thought that funny and that we deserved to have Ebola in a red State!

As of now, other than liberal family members and one of my very best friends, I only really interact on a regular basis with one liberal – and he’s pro-life! At least we have that much in common – though he won’t let go of Obama and admit that his vote in 2008 and 2012 was a huge mistake. But that is it – no matter what other liberal I come into contact with, any attempt to engage will eventually lead to frothing at the mouth hatred and insults directed at me. Just not worth the bother.

      • Cluster October 13, 2014 / 9:47 am

All liberals suffer from the same infliction of self aggrandizement combined with believing that rhetoric trumps results. Those two character flaws are seen in every single progressive. Case in point – our ol buddy Casper has opined that voter ID laws are being put in place “for one reason and one reason only – to keep Democrats from voting”. Regardless of the fact that actual data refutes this assertion 100%, the mere fact that a progressive saying it makes it true in their mind. Just say something and it is true. All Obama has to do is give a speech and presto – it’s reality. The universe they occupy is surreal.

      • Amazona October 13, 2014 / 10:26 am

At least casper tried, in his own mindless and parrotlike way, to express an actual IDEA, no matter how utterly silly and false it it. (Evidently he thinks that everyone who might vote Republican, even though very old, or homeless, or poor, has still been able to figure out how to get a government-issued photo ID, while those who vote Dem aren’t smart enough—-there must be some reason he’s so convinced that only Dem voters lack the ability to deal with this problem.)

What I found, back when these whiny alternative-to-reality blogs popped up in response to losing a forum here, was that those who scurried over there didn’t care about posting ideas at all, no matter how ridiculous or scurrilous, but merely attacked people who DO post ideas. Aside from a few links to fellow traveler dissertations, they seemed locked into just sneering at us. It seemed to be a constant whining litany of variations on “Amazona is so stupid she actually believes this…..hahahahahahaha” or “Cluster is an idiot because he said this……..hahahahahahaha” or “Mark Noonan is still claiming this, the dummy…..hahahahahaha” and so on. I looked in now and then because I had wondered if any of them would eventually stray into the arena of actual thought and discourse and stumble onto a fact or an idea, once free of the scorn of actual thinkers for their addiction to spite and malice. I wondered if the lack of objection to their sick pathologies would free them to get beyond them. The answer, of course, was a resounding “NO”.

They are what they are. They are a step above the people interviewed by Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel, who are totally oblivious to anything going on the in the country, in that they probably DO know who Joe Biden is, etc. But just barely above that level is their comfort zone, where they can posture as thinkers and political pundits while steadfastly guarding the gates to make sure that no ideas other than those promoted by their minders and chosen talking heads can ever even approach, must less enter.

      • Amazona October 13, 2014 / 10:45 am

Some Libs who are merely misled and not Libs because of pathologies can be reached. The other day I was talking to one of my brothers, who is a Lib, about the possible sale of a piece of property I have for sale. I bought it decades ago for nearly nothing and it is now pretty valuable, and we were talking about the capital gains tax on it.

I said I will not, absolutely NOT, pay a 28% tax on the gain on this property, but will do a tax deferred 1031 exchange, and will keep turning this money over and over into one exchange after another till someone reasonable takes over the government and makes necessary corrections. The response to this was mixed—–understanding and even agreement about the resistance to paying the tax, and the strategy to avoid it, mixed with an uncomfortable reaction to the comment about someone reasonable taking over the government and fixing things.

I went on to talk about the billions or trillions of dollars locked up right now, because of the this tax. I said “The short-sighted approach to raising more money is to raise the tax, but all that does is lock up that money and keep it out of circulation. I’m small potatoes. I am not talking about a huge amount of money. But people who do have huge amounts of money are making the same decision I am making, for the same reason, and instead of selling land or businesses and paying a reasonable tax they are just finding other land or businesses and rolling over their sales in things like the 1031s, so no money ever changes hands, no taxable event ever occurs, and no tax revenue is ever collected. The next step will probably be to just raise the tax again, which will just push more people into doing this. But when the capital gains tax was slashed under Reagan, billions and billions of dollars of sales occurred, because people were willing to pay a reasonable tax, and revenues went up. Money got back into the system, tax revenues went up, and the economy got better. Money locked up in capital is not circulating, and it leads to a stagnant economy.”

And he understood this. When it was local, when it was about a situation close to him, without the noise machine of the Left talking heads bleating about the eeeevil 1%, when the mental static was removed and it was just an example of one person’s experience that could be extrapolated to an entire country and economy, the light went on.

But this is an honest person, not someone like the banished trolls, who will never care about a fact if it interferes with their hatreds and resentments.

“Today on Twitter one prominent liberal was yucking it up over the fact that the first Ebola cases in the United States were in Texas – essentially, she thought that funny and that we deserved to have Ebola in a red State!”

This is so typical of far-Left “thinking”, and such a confirmation of my theory that this is territory inhabited exclusively by people with truly vile and vicious pathologies.

A corollary to this would be, if this disease or any other potentially devastating disease were to erupt in someplace like Vermont or San Francisco, the eeevil Right created it and planted it there to wipe out Progressives. Or blacks. Or gays.

Remember, conservatives have been accused of creating AIDS to wipe out gays, and Farrakhan has often lectured that white people have created race-specific pathogens that will only infect black people. He has said that one of these can be introduced into a room filled with both white and black people, and it will only infect the black people.

Crazy runs deep. Vicious runs deeper.

Cappy’s fellow pRegressives toute him as an excellent example of one who teaches “thought and reason”. Cappy believes that we don’t know what we are talking about versus one such as he who “has actually taken a course”.

These deluded people are pure comedy gold!
