I’m seriously thinking that President Trump should clear out every single staffer he inherited from previous Administrations and replace them with people who have either never worked in government, or at least haven’t worked in it for some time. Trump has made some great picks for the commanding heights of the Administration, but down lower we’ve still got a bunch of Obama-bots undermining his policy choices. The President can’t just fire people thanks to various civil service laws, but we can transfer them to the sticks and bring in a whole raft of new people. I offer my services as a foreign and military policy staffer. Sure, I don’t have any credentials…but I’ve read and studied a lot and I certainly couldn’t do any worse than the clowns we’ve got in there. Might do better – and, most importantly, a new set of staffers brought in from outside wouldn’t be leaking and undermining. Additionally, a completely fresh look at the situation from people not wedded to conventional wisdom would likely come up with some good solutions.
If you do a good job as a Venezuelan soldier, you get your reward: toilet paper.
Trump gave a speech to the Boy Scouts and now the Progressives and Never Trump are attacking the Scouts. Trump will be re-elected in a landslide.
Rumors abound of an impending change in the Attorney General’s slot…I doubt it. I think Trump is putting pressure on Sessions, but it is all part of a program to eventually shut this whole Russia nonsense down. We’ll see, of course.
That Minnesota police officer who shot the Australian woman was fast-tracked on to the police force. Official word is he went through the normal hiring process…but if you fast track someone, you are by definition not doing through the normal hiring process. I’d be entirely unsurprised to learn that in an eagerness to obtain “diversity”, corners were cut.
Smug, condescending Progressive advises Progressives to not be so smug and condescending as they lead us benighted bigots into GoodThink.
Feds have seized DWS’s smashed hard drives. A bit of real news which might have some astonishing consequences.
MSNBC has started a new morning poll now. The subject of the poll? “Should President Trump be Impeached” The results this morning were 42% for, 42% against. This was preceded by two hours of Trump bashing, and directly followed by the comment of one panelist saying that “they have never before witnessed this type of hostile environment”.
I kid you not. Their self awareness is abysmal.
What these morons are missing is that “impeachment” is nothing more than a formal claim of wrongdoing. Actually, they may know this but also know their mindless watchers think it means getting rid of the person being impeached.
I notice that no one ever comments on how the Democrat Party really feels about the importance attached to impeachment. When Federal Judge Alcee Hastings was impeached for criminal activity and removed from the bench, it was Dems who then elected him to the House of Representatives and the Democrat Party which pushed to have him appointed to high positions.
MSNBC is like someone who hires a group of thugs to “protest”, hands out signs saying “Blacks Go Home To Africa” and “The KKK Was Right” and “No Black Lives Matter”, then covers the “protest” and wrings its hands at the rise in racism.

Hilarious and so true. And not only would they point to the rise in racism, but then worry and fret about the lack of civility in our political discourse. Oh the horrors.
Dear Mr. President: Just because you think it doesn’t mean you have to say it.
I think Trump is putting pressure on Sessions, but it is all part of a program to eventually shut this whole Russia nonsense down. That’s a valiant effort to put a nice spin on a rash and foolish statement by the President, who really needs to put a monitor on his mouth. I know Trump supporters like to claim that he is wily, that he never does anything without a reason, etc etc etc. Yet he often comes across as merely lacking the normal internal filters that tell us what we can say and what we should keep to ourselves.
I know Erikson has not been a Trump supporter, but lately he has been far more optimistic about what Trump has been doing. So I don’t think this is just jeering from a Never Trumper.

If Trump loses even one member of his cabinet because of this, it will cause more harm to his administration and agendas than all the Russian hoopla combined with all the claims against his family, and then some. A president has to have loyalty from his people, and he gets that by having loyalty TO his people.
Ian Kennedy, a professor of health, law, and ethics at University College London writing at The Guardian has a different take, one consistent with the pure leftist’s ideology: infant Charlie Gard “does not belong to his parents,” he belongs to Big Brother, and he should be sentenced to death.
“The first is the most fundamental: as a society, we must choose how to decide such heartbreaking cases,” writes Kennedy, in a piece titled “Despite Charlie Gard’s tragic story, we must respect the process of our courts.”
“These are the steps. The first is to recognise that children do not belong to their parents,” he writes.
Mr. Kennedy has just unwittingly revealed the mindset of the left, and that includes nearly every single Democrat in the United States. This mindset MUST be destroyed at any cost. Socialism is for the weak. We can no longer be a country of weak people.

The Left, intent on tyranny, can tolerate no challenge to its authority. That is to say, God and religion, the family or true education. This is why we see them attacking society on these three fronts.
We saw this here in the United States when it became legal for school authorities to not only authorize but actually contribute to adolescent girls getting abortions without the knowledge or consent of their parents. Schools which could not dispense aspirins without parental consent were telling young girls that their parents would hate them for becoming pregnant and they should turn to the only people they could trust, their school teachers and counselors, to deal with the “problem”. Just as we saw it in 1930s Germany when youth were taken from their homes and placed in youth camps where they could be indoctrinated into Nazi political philosophy, and were instructed to report family members for dissenting with the government.
Isn’t it interesting how human nature tends to gravitate towards the socialist/communist model? Even when presented with empirical evidence showing that the model always fails. I guess that comports with the concept that being negative is easy, while being positive takes some effort.
To get a great sense of capitalism vs socialism – take a look at the current countries of Chile vs Venezuela
The explanation is that the failed systems only failed because they didn’t go far enough.
I’m not sure how much farther the USSR could have gone, or Germany. History tells us the farther Left the government goes, the worse off the citizens are and the bigger the failure when it finally, inevitably, collapses.
I think most people who have a general approval of socialist ideas are not negative as much as the are just plain lazy. When they get a little deeper into it and start aligning themselves with a Leftist political party they is when the negativity sets in, and that is just antagonism against anyone who doesn’t agree with them. Here again, though, I see laziness as the biggest culprit—they are too lazy to make the effort to learn anything on their own, and prefer to just have their leaders spoon-feed the pap right into their minds without having to exert themselves at all.
I remember very clearly when I was in the 2nd or 3rd grade the CA school I was attending sent home a little questionnaire…asking what language we spoke at home and other such personal things. My father merely wrote across it, “go to hell”. When I turned it in, my teacher said, “tell your dad, ‘I agree'”. But I doubt many parents these days have the spirit my father showed…
Mark, now the questionnaire would ask if you think of yourself as a girl or a boy, what kind of underwear you prefer (panties or jockey shorts) and how many parents of any gender are in the home.
I think the most important take-away from this article is that the idea that a child does not belong to its parents but to the state comes from a man who TEACHES ETHICS.
That is, this is not just how some politician looks at the world. This is what hundreds of not thousands of young people are being taught is a basic truth.
The Left has always understood that they couldn’t take their battle to the next stage—where we are now—-before they controlled what young people are taught, and do this for at least two generations so parents are not as likely to tell their children their teachers are full of crap.
