Reliving Election Night, 2016: a Progressive Nightmare

Esquire has an article out – The Untold Stories of Election Day 2016. If you haven’t read it yet, do so: it will bring pure joy to your heart. Here’s the crux of the matter:

Omarosa Manigault, Trump campaign: If we believed what was on the television, we would have thought we lost. But looking at the numbers that were in front of us in the key battleground states, we were up…or we were neck and neck, with expectations of higher turnout and more enthusiasm. We were going off of our own internal data. What was being shown on CNN and MSNBC and some of these other networks was showing a stark contrast to what was in front of us.

That was it, all along. The race was always tight – it never was anything but. Hillary did have her chances to win, but it was never going to be a walk over. It is like everyone in the Expert Class simply refused to remember that she was terribly unpopular and an absolutely awful retail politician. The whole of the MSM – including Fox – was feeding out this story that Trump was just terrible and Hillary was so polished and accomplished and was sure to win…and to support it, they rolled out poll after poll showing Hillary ahead.

Now, as I wrote back then, I was unsure who was going to win going into election day. I was off from work that day and was also scheduled off the following day: perfect for the political junkie. I didn’t pay the least attention to what was going on through the day: I knew from experience (especially from 2004), that the early reports would not only be wrong, but would be done deliberately wrong to try and boost Democrat turnout while depressing GOP turnout. No sense watching that sort of thing: best to wait until there were some actual votes. I already had my mental marker on how the night would go: if FL and/or PA was called fast for Hillary, she had won…if either of them were delayed, or called for Trump, it was all over for Hillary. I went out and about with the Mrs and, after dinner, came home to settle in for the watch. I think I clicked around a few channels but the coverage was so annoyingly pro-Hillary that I quickly got irritated. I actually decided, I think, to watch something else and just follow on Twitter, but I eventually surfed by Fox Business and Stuart Varney was on doing early coverage…he’s a huge Trumpster, but after the nauseating coverage on the other networks, he seemed to be completely fair and detached. I stayed on it.

I was watching out of one eye, checking Twitter (especially Decision Desk – a must-follow for election day) and really just waiting for it. Keep in mind that I’m on Pacific time: the first polls would close at 4 pm my time. I tuned in about 5 pm. The Mrs periodically checked in on me – she seemed pretty sure that Trump would win it, and she’s always right about how elections will go (don’t know were she gets the intuition from: she hates politics with a passion…but once she sees a bit about how a campaign is going, she always gets it exactly right). As I continued to watch the TV, it switched over to Neil Cavuto hosting – don’t know if he’s a Conservative, but he’s always a level-headed guy who goes with the facts as far as he can find them. During one tune out, he mentioned offhand that there were odd numbers in Michigan. That was my first inkling – this was before Ohio was called at 7:36pm my time…but I had been looking at Ohio and wondered by 6pm why it hadn’t been called for Trump already. My guess was that if Ohio was going Trump – and it was – then Florida likely would as well. I expected Trump to win all of Romney’s 2012 States (I never believed the BS that AZ and UT were in play). Add FL and OH to Romney’s 2012 total and Trump was up to 253 electoral votes…add Michigan to that, Trump was at 269. When Ohio was called for Trump, in my mind, it was over – at 7:36pm Pacific. The Mrs checked in a few minutes after that – and I said words to the effect of, “I think Trump might have this”. She said, “told you so” and exited.

By the time the MSM got around to calling Florida at 7:50pm my time, I was starting to perceive – looking at numbers elsewhere, as well – that the MSM was slow-walking the State calls because they didn’t want to get out in front of Hillary and her team. Until they told the MSM it was ok to call the race, the race wouldn’t be called. From that point on, the night got merely irritating. The sycophancy of these people! The numbers were the numbers; the votes were being counted. They were holding back calling States which had 90%+ in and all of Hillary’s territory reported. It really isn’t as difficult to call a State as the MSM was making out that night…and the number-crunchers working for the MSM were doing all they could to let everyone paying attention know that it was all over. They kept going back to the un-called States and pointing out, relentlessly, that there simply weren’t enough possible Hillary votes to overcome Trump leads in State after State. The Mrs hung it up at 10pm our time and went to bed – I kept hanging on, hoping to see Hillary concede. It was only after the report flashed that Hillary had called Trump that the MSM called the necessary States to show Trump over 270.

To me, the lesson of the night was simply to ignore the MSM, entirely. They will not do anything against the wishes of the Democrats. There is really just no point in listening to them any more, except for laughs. In areas non-political, they might some times get things right, if only by accident. But in anything which can be construed as political, they are just going to take their marching orders – and talking points – from the DNC, no matter how divorced from reality DNC press releases are. What will happen over the next years is unknown – but the last thing I’ll do is follow the lead of the MSM. I’m going with whatever facts I can find…and I should have been more bold in 2016 when I saw that a net 100,000 people had switched from Democrat to Republican in Pennsylvania. That, right there, was the whole story: people were abandoning the Democrats in droves. And I’ve seen reports, buried deep, that they have continued to abandon the Democrats all through 2017, as well. The proof will be in the pudding, of course – we’ll see how things shake out when the votes are counted. But I’m betting that they’ll be counted mostly in Trump’s favor for quite a while.

The whole of the MSM – including Fox – was feeding out this story that Trump was just terrible and Hillary was so polished and accomplished and was sure to win….

That’s because the MSM has lost touch with who Americans are. Americans are not “polished and accomplished”……… we are rough around the edges, politically incorrect on occasion, prideful, God fearing, with a firm belief that America is the last best place and we will never tire in it’s defense. In other words …. Americans are much more like Trump than Hillary, and the MSM is much more like Hillary. They don’t even know the country they purport to cover.

As a political junkie myself, I was going to watch the election night regardless who won, but I was convinced that Hillary would win too. However early on, I heard one of the panelists on MSNBC mention that if Hillary does not win North Carolina early and convincingly, it could be a long night for her. Well North Carolina was neck and neck for a long time, so I started to have a little hope. Then FL was “too close to call”, PA was too “close to call”, but when I heard that Trump led in OH and IL, I broke out the popcorn and felt hopeful. I fell asleep but the minute I woke the next morning I grabbed my phone beside my bed….. took a deep breath…. and went to the Drudge Report and could not believe my eyes…….WE WON and I must have stared at the screen for 10 minutes letting it soak in. It was a long 8 years to this point.

That’s because the MSM has lost touch with who Americans are

I think it is more sinister than that. I think it was a last-ditch effort of the Complicit Agenda Media to shift the election to Hillary.

Have you noticed that in all the whining, squealing and general hysteria about the imaginary bogey-man of Russia trying to influence our election, there isn’t a peep from the Complicit Agenda Media about the fact that this is exactly what THEY were doing?

Tell me, what is a bigger threat to our nation, a foreign country trying to influence the way Americans think, and therefore act, or our own press doing the very same thing?

It is no longer a “free” press. It is wholly complicit in the Left’s efforts to take over the country. The media feed Americans with the swill necessary to make them distrust the Constitution, distrust those who believe the Constitution is not only the best but the only legal way to govern the country, distrust people of faith, distrust people who believe in the 2nd Amendment, and most of all distrust and even hate each other. The American “free press” is far much more dangerous than the most effective efforts of any other nation to disrupt us, which is why they keep pointing us toward other actors, because they don’t want us to look too closely at what they are doing and their role in undermining our very way of government.

Nearly, if not all, “news” stories have a spin to them. Not long ago I heard a story on the Denver CBS station about how some people were refusing to follow the “new rules” of the Trump administration, regarding immigration. I wrote to Kyle Clark, the head of the news department, pointing out that this is inaccurate, that any “new rules” are not about immigration but about the requirement that the old laws on immigration be followed. His response to me was that he was going to stick with his own interpretation. That may sound like a small thing, but multiply it by thousands of similar examples every year, in every medium, from television to radio to movies, and you can see a sinister and insidious pattern of our media working very very hard to not report what is happening in the country, which is their job, but to push their own Leftist agenda to influence what is happening.

That is what we saw in the election. Look at all the reports on the amount of coverage given to Trump vs that for Hillary. Look at the comparisons of negative information about Trump vs Hillary. Look at the nearly total media silence about her physical condition. Look at the media coverups of the various scandals, from the Clinton Foundation to Uranium One to Benghazi.

The media were in the tank for Hillary, and right up to the last minute frantically tried to convince the nation that she was sure to win, was winning, no doubt, get on the HIllary bandwagon right now so you are not on the losing side, no reason to go out and vote for Trump because he’s already lost, etc etc.

If only our media WERE just “out of touch with who Americans are…” Then, at least, they would merely be clueless bumbling idiots. But the truth is that they know exactly who Americans are, and are working tirelessly to change that. That is why the media are so malignant and dangerous.

His response to me was that he was going to stick with his own interpretation.

This response of his speaks volumes. He directly told you that regardless of the facts (no new laws, just enforcing existing ones), he was going to push his agenda regardless, and that right there sums up the American progressive movement…..

I say that the media no longer knows who Americans are, because I think the media truly believes that they represent the majority of Americans. I believe that they were convinced that the electorate had changed with the election of Obama, and that their ideology was and is the prevailing ideology across the country …. and they are so wrong.

Has everyone seen the Tom Steyer “American Citizen” commercial? Here’s a guy who funds the open border cause, supports punitive economic measures in the name of climate change, and wants the UN to take more a lead role in world governance, yet he is the one calling Trump a “clear and present danger to our country”.

I will say it again – progressives (like Tom Steyer) have NO IDEA who we are.

    • Amazona November 7, 2017 / 11:25 am

And here again, I disagree. They know exactly who we are. And they hate the American identity and are dedicated to changing it by destroying it and replacing it with the European/Russian model.

Look back into history, All nations were governed by tyrannical monarchies, and therefore the characters of those nations were of people accustomed to being governed this way, comfortable with it, even (as in the case of Russia) nostalgic for a powerful Central Authority when it briefly seemed to go away.

Those who rebelled against this kind of life left. And where did they go? They went to the New World, to the colonies, and they took their attitude toward tyranny with them. They formed the foundation of the first nation in the history of the world openly based on rejection of tyranny and empowerment of citizens.

The Leftists of the world, those who are ideologues and not just the mindless emoting sheeple they lead, know this, and that is why they target us. They know they have to nibble away at the American identity before they can take over, but I believe they know what that identity is, and that is why they are so focused on destroying it. They attack it, they ridicule it, they sneer at it, they denigrate it, but they do this because they recognize it as the only threat they face. They tell us that their way is better, more enlightened, more compassionate, more wonderful in every way, and that our way is wrong and even inherently evil and so are those who defend it.

Ad like this don’t come from people who don’t understand Americans. They come from people who do, and are dedicated to destroying that character and that identity.

Howard Dean Predicts Money Laundering Charge For Jared Kushner

    MONEY LAUNDERING !!!!!!!!!

    Which begs two questions –

    1. Why do Russians need to launder money? Is Putin a real stickler for ethical financial transactions??
    2. What do Democrats think CGI was? A charity to help the impoverished??

    • Amazona November 8, 2017 / 12:53 am

Given the involvement of the Kremlin, or at least of Putin, in most if not all of the Russian corruption, the idea that the gangsters felt a need to find some plausible source of their money (money laundering) is ridiculous. Everyone knew. No one cared.

But then, we have to remember that these people have no idea of what goes on in the real world, and are just babbling whatever script they are fed, a script that is supposed to bring Trump down. And they know their mindless sheeple, who have never been within shouting distance of any sum of money that might attract attention, will buy into any cockamamie story they come up with.

  4. Cluster November 8, 2017 / 8:11 am

Well it has come to this – Democrats are ecstatic about their local victories last night in very blue states against establishment GOP candidates….. and they won on the campaign of “bringing people together” (isn’t that beautiful). This tells us a few things:

    1. Democrats still have no constructive positions on any substantive policy issues, relying instead on bumper sticker slogans.

    2. There are still too many mindless progressives breathing air

    3. All GOP establishment candidates will lose. There day is over

  5. Cluster November 8, 2017 / 8:14 am

Asked about the victories last night DNC Chair Tom Perez just said that Democrats will have everyone’s back. Considering the recent headlines of Anthony Weiner, Bill Clinton, Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, and most of Hollywood – that may have been an unfortunate choice of words.

    • Amazona November 8, 2017 / 10:38 am

Actually, having Democrats at one’s back is pretty scary….

So Joey Scarborough just had a little tizzy fit calling out conservatives for their support of Trump’s “abhorrent” behavior. I am assuming Joey considers himself to be a conservatives which is hilarious and his irrational outburst also infers that President’s should be elected based on their manners and decorum, and how they conduct themselves at Georgetown cocktail parties.

If Joey wasn’t so entrenched in the establishment class, he would realize that in less than one year, Trump has advanced the conservative cause more than any other President since Reagan. And it is you Joey, and your industry that is dividing Americans. It’s the only way establishment hacks like yourself have any relevance.

So how long will the complicit media ignore this from Donna Brazile:

I felt some responsibility for Seth Rich’s death. I didn’t bring him into the DNC, but I helped keep him there working on voting rights. With all I knew now about the Russians’ hacking, I could not help but wonder if they had played some part in his unsolved murder. Besides that, racial tensions were high that summer and I worried that he was murdered for being white on the wrong side of town. [My friend] Elaine expressed her doubts about that, and I heard her. The FBI said that they did not see any Russian fingerprints there.

And as I type, Donna is on MSNBC backtracking nearly everything she wrote in her book while be attacked by the panelists. Good stuff.

    http://dailycaller.com/2017/11/07/donna-brazile-has-a-theory-about-who-killed-seth-rich/

    • Amazona November 8, 2017 / 10:36 am

I am intrigued by the new effort to implicate (sound ominous music….) RUSSIA !!!!!!! in Seth Rich’s murder.

They are still claiming Russia hacked their server, though after their hired gun private security people got through with whatever forensic evidence there might have been (while the DNC kept the FBI locked out) there will never be any way to really know what is missing, what was planted after the hacking, what was just damaged or destroyed by the private firm, etc. Seth Rich has been tentatively identified as the DNC insider who copied information and delivered it, or had it delivered, BY HAND, IN PERSON, to a Wikileaks person, which is not hacking.

That is, there were two separate, distinct events. One was the physical removal of physical records, such as printouts of emails, etc. which were then physically handed off to someone, one human to another in the same place at the same time, and one is an alleged electronic invasion of electronic records, which is done at a distance. The Left has been working overtime to create the false impression that they are one and the same.

The pathetic and desperate effort to link Rich to actual electronic penetration of the DNC servers is bad enough, when his involvement (if any) was not related to any electronic invasion but was simple Sandy Berger type theft, but then to try to implicate RUSSIA !!!!!! in his death is desperation squared.

      • Cluster November 8, 2017 / 1:56 pm

Considering the list of Hillary’s crimes as it related to her private server that Comey outlined in detail last year but then concluded that “no reasonable” prosecutor would indict her, and the fact that the DNC prevented the FBI from any forensic inspection of their servers after admitting to the hack, to the IRS awkwardly admitting that they did in fact target conservative groups after lying about for years to now, where Donna Brazile is backtracking on what she just published about the nefarious actions of the DNC, and the layers of deceit are mind numbing ……I am convinced that there are many layers of corruption and crimes that the DNC, Obama and the Clinton’s have engaged and the deep state is covering them …
