I wasn’t going to write about politics on Easter, but this came up in my Twitter feed today:
No other city has taken down a monument to a president for his misdeeds. But Arcata is poised to do just that. The target is an 8½-foot bronze likeness of William McKinley, who was president at the turn of the last century and stands accused of directing the slaughter of Native peoples in the U.S. and abroad.
“Put a rope around its neck and pull it down,” Chris Peters shouted at a recent rally held at the statue, which has adorned the central square for more than a century.
Peters, who heads the Arcata-based Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous People, called McKinley a proponent of “settler colonialism” that “savaged, raped and killed.”…
These people don’t hate America’s sins, they hate America. It is really just as simple as that. Was McKinley perfect? No. Why does he have a statue in Arcata, CA? Because his death was such a complete shock that a mediocre President was elevated in the public mind to incredible heights in spite of a lackluster record (sort of like what happened to JFK after he was killed). Today, McKinley is mostly forgotten – so I could definitely see a city deciding to take down his statue for that reason…but to take it down like you’re removing the statue of a criminal is just absurd. And indicates a great deal of hatred not for McKinley (who probably not 1 in a 100 citizens of the city are even aware of), but for the nation he lead.
The left has always been at war with the very idea of the United States. They can’t stand our persistent religious faith; our desire to make it on our own; our unwillingness to see ourselves as mere blocks of wood for social experimentation. The left also knows that they can’t triumph in the world if the United States continues to exist as the United States. And so they attack everything that went to make up the United States. Nothing we have done has been good in their view – everything we’ve done must be condemned and renounced and we, the people just fit ourselves (or be fitted) into a new way of thinking.
As for me, I’m heartily sick of it. I’m supposed to feel bad that my ancestors came to a mostly empty land and made it something more than a game preserve for nomads. Sorry, but I’m not sorry that it happened, at all. I’m sorry there was murder and rapine and I wish that hadn’t happened…but it happened on both sides (my father, as a young boy, knew an old man who had been scalped and left for dead in a raid back in the day; the rest of his family was killed or taken…why did it happen? For no other reason than they were there, and could be taken and killed; the man, by the way, held no bitterness about it…it was just the way things went at times, in those days). And the Natives here when exposed to advanced, Western civilization immediately wanted the goods of that civilization…beaver weren’t nearly hunted to extinction east of the Mississippi by white guys, but by Natives who wanted to trade the pelts for iron tools, cotton clothing and other things. For crying out loud, does anyone think that a human being really wants to spend 50 hours of labor making a stone knife which will be dull after a few uses when you can get an iron knife that will be keen for a lifetime? What the heck are these Native activists saying? In the end, that their ancestors weren’t stupid enough to reject all contact with Western civilization.
I’m glad Nebraska and Kansas are there – filled with cities and with farms which produce food for millions upon millions of people. It would be a crime against humanity if it had remained the abode of a few million buffalo and a few score thousand nomads living off them. The whole process of settlement could have been better done and the Natives certainly deserved better treatment than was meted out, but that the settlement had to happen is obvious, and obviously good that it happened.
The end result of all this is that we have to fight tooth and nail – we have to defend every last inch of everything we have. Because we’ve now learned that it isn’t just that this or that person was bad and thus his statue has to come down, but that the left is trying to destroy the entirety of the United States and erect some new, anti-American nation in its place.
Blogs For Victory 
Till the people who love this country start pushing back against those who hate it, this kind of thing will continue. It has evolved over the past decade or so as the Left has incrementally raised the stakes. Barack Obama and his wife sneered at the United States and he promised to fundamentally transform it, and he got elected to do just that. The entire Obama presidency was based on degrading America, and from the Apology Tours to his denigration of the country as exceptional the Left has been testing the waters to see if the country would object. And no one has.
We were cowed into silence by the response that anything we said about Obama’s efforts were just racism. What’s our excuse now?
We elected a man who promised to make America great again, which was pushback against the anti-America efforts, and all that has done has been to goad the America-haters into upping their game. They have latched onto tearing down statues based on bogus accusations of racism, and we let them get away with it. When President Trump commented that some of the people marching in Charlottsville were good people he was pilloried for it and accused of defending the Nazis and white supremacists who were marching, and no one stood up and pushed back and said no, he was praising those who went to try to head off violence.
That old accusation of racism is still being used to lead some Americans around by the nose, and we let the Left get away with it. We are going to have to start fighting back. Maybe the upcoming election will be a chance to start doing that, as people will be making speeches all over the country.
Sadly, the national GOP is so disorganized it is simply not capable of putting together a coherent message to be sent by every Republican running for office, so the Republican efforts will be as chaotic and disorganized as they always are. We will continue to let the Left write the narratives and maybe, every now and then, someone will mount a meek semi-response, but we will still be playing defense because we have no one to put together an offense.
It can be relied upon that any Progressive reading this post will call it racist – but, of course, it isn’t. The problem here is that we have allowed the word “racism” to expand beyond all bounds of rationality. I had a long to do on Twitter a few weeks back about this…the Progressive (nice guy, actually) kept trying to get me to agree to his terms on racism. I kept refusing. I held to the position that racism is the belief that some people are inferior due to their blood. He wanted it to encompass anything and everything. That is the sort of thing we have to push back on…the Settlers didn’t come West on a mission to be racists. They came West to build a new land. Yes, some of the people who came West were out and out racists…others were just prey to the social attitudes of their day. Some were cruel, some were kind…in other words, they were people. And on the Native side, some were cruel and some were kind. Because, one again, people. We must not let the left get away with this any longer.
I actually disagree with your definition of racism. I think racism is the attribution of any characteristic to race. That is, thinking all Asians are good at math is racist, just as thinking all black people are cop-hating thugs. I think it goes both ways.
That may be a better way to put it – ascribing any good or bad attribute to a person based upon their ethnicity is racism. Race is meaningless in how a human is.
That’s just it. It’s what MLK talked about—being judged by our character instead of the color of our skin.
That being said, I have no problem in acknowledging different skin colors. Right now to even refer to the skin tone of anyone who is not white is “racist”.
Robert Parker wrote a series about a white detective named Spenser and his black friend, Hawk. The two men were brothers under the skin, and the books and TV show were full of banter back and forth about racial stereotypes. That would freak people out today Even when race is merely used as an identifier, to describe someone, some wild-eyed hater will start to screech “racist!!” It is not only very tiresome, it is very damaging to our society.
I’m just waiting for it – in the novel, there are characters of various ethnic backgrounds. Here’s the thing, I don’t know how Fred and Celeste became black. They just were…they sprung full blown into my head as I first wrote them down as what they are. Bryce, James. Rossalyn and Karen are white. Those, so far, are the major “normal” characters in the book (ie, people without any special powers). But if the book becomes a success, you just know I’m going to get hammered in some quarters for not having a Latino or gay character. There are bean counters out there who don’t care about the story, just about who is represented on a SJW scale. Now, I don’t give a darn about that and I never will…but you know it will be an issue if a lot of people buy the book. But, in the end, they’ll more hate it because the characters are just regular folks who are trying to do the right thing.
I’m offended—-no, OUTRAGED !!! and ready to MARCH !!!!—because of your vile racist remark about “bean counters”. Don’t think it passed unnoticed that this dog whistle occurred within six words of the word “Hispanic”. Of all the words you COULD have used in such close proximity to the word “Hispanic” you chose the one that is merely a coded reference to some people of color. You could have referred to counting pebbles, or if you insisted on counting vegetables you could have written “legume counters”. No, this insult shall not go unnoticed or unpunished! BTW, I used to sell insurance, and then got a securities license. For both insurance companies I worked for, and due to SEC regs, I was investigated three times. Not just general background checks, but full-on investigations. My friends, family and neighbors were, I think, starting to wonder. And I had no access at all to any sensitive information in Congress.
So I am guessing Chris Peters wants to convince us that all Native people were just peace loving, tribesman living off the land in harmony until the white people got here. Is that that story we are suppose to buy into? The Native people were just as brutal, and war mongering as the white people were. The warred against other tribes, they killed mercilessly, they raped women from other tribes, they stole from other tribes, they took land from other tribes, and they hunted and preyed upon white pioneers. Someone needs to tell Chris that the “slaughter” he speaks of is actually just his ancestors losing a war, so sit down and STFU Chris.

They are mocking Fox News and President Trump for repeating this “false” story and trying to whip up “nativism”. And that’s the extent of their reporting. Their only reason to report the story was to bash America’s President.

This is becoming a pattern. I can’t believe how many young women school teachers have been caught doing this. If the genders were reversed, this would be a huge national story.
This is the natural and inevitable outcome of reducing sex to mere recreation, with no meaning, no consequences and devoid of any semblance of morality. It’s nothing more than scratching an itch, no big deal. Sex is essentially meaningless except as fun, just as gender is essentially meaningless and freely defined (if at all). Just as the natural outcome of sex is not human life but a mere inconvenience to be disposed of—-for profit, if possible.
When you pull the pin out of a structure, it collapses. We have pulled so many pins, there are few structures left intact. The basic English language? In a death spiral. Basic definitions of humanity? Not only not necessary, but inherently bad, so we can’t talk about male and female any more. Social structures? You mean like marriage? Infinitely fluid, with no real anchor of meaning. Laws? Only if you feel like it, and by the way they don’t have to be made by legislative bodies any more—–it’s so much easier to have un-elected political appointees like judges and agency heads make the laws, don’t you think? The Constitution? Ha. Borders? Just mere suggestions, lines on a map that should be eliminated anyway. National identity? So toxic, so evil, so, well, NATIVIST. So racist. Ick. Freedom? Hell, no—freedom means inequality, as people advance or not depending on how they use their freedom, and it’s so much better to have the government portion out jobs, money and status. Freedom of speech? It just leads to dissension—it should only apply to selected and approved belief systems. Religion? Not if it tries to follow Scripture, but OK as an empty illusion as long as it supports approved agendas like abortion, gender fluidity and so on. People can pretend to believe in and follow God as long as they don’t have to follow any rules or do anything that is, you know, like, HARD. Families? Fake social constructs that just get in the way of a collective society, dangerous because family loyalty competes with loyalty to the State.

For five days now hundreds of Central Americans – children, women, and men, most of them from Honduras – have boldly crossed immigration checkpoints, military bases, and police in a desperate, sometimes chaotic march toward the United States. Despite their being in Mexico without authorization, no one has made any effort to stop them.
Organized by a group of volunteers called Pueblos Sin Fronteras, or People Without Borders, the caravan is intended to help migrants safely reach the United States, bypassing not only authorities who would seek to deport them, but gangs and cartels who are known to assault vulnerable migrants.
Organizers like Rodrigo Abeja hope that the sheer size of the crowd will give immigration authorities and criminals pause before trying to stop them.

Think about this – the left wants to take Laura off the air because she mentioned that Hogg was “whining” about not getting accepted to some CA schools. That’s all it took to get little Davey Hogg’s panties in a bunch forcing him to be intolerant of her free speech.
Little POS Hogg had his feelings hurt so he wants to silence her speech and the left is behind him 100%. They are fascists, they do hate America, and they need to be eliminated.
I think it may be too generous to Davey to say his feelings were hurt. I think it is more malignant than that. I think his minders pointed out that Laura had given him a platform, no matter how small or insignificant, for him to enlarge and dramatize his invented victim status, and he jumped on it. He loves playing the victim, but the reason he loves it is not just because it gets him lots of attention and camera time, it enables him to indulge his inner bully. With a lot of guidance from people who are experts at this kind of thing, he is parlaying his perceived victimhood into fame and glory, and letting the ugly nature of his true self shine through.
I have to wonder how his schoolmates would describe David Hogg, if anyone were to interview them. I have a feeling they would say he had always been a nasty little piece of work, the tattletale in class, the sneak, the sly one no one really liked. This persona of his didn’t spring full-blown out of the shooting—-it’s been there as his character and personality for his whole life. The shooting was the best thing that ever happened to him, and he is the new Cindy Sheehan, climbing over the corpses of the dead to get closer to the spotlight. It’s just a bonus that he is being praised and adored for being vicious and profane and nasty.
I know I am projecting these opinions on him, without actually knowing him, but I look at the smug self-satisfied smirk on his face, the glee with which he savages others knowing the Left has his back, and the dead eyes and lifeless mask of his face and I don’t see a serious, sincere young man trying to deal with a tragedy. I see a cold, callous, boy who revels in the chance to hurt people. And I see the newest incarnation of the motto that you never let a good crisis go to waste.
The speed with which the blowup turned into an attempt to silence Ingraham shows that it was planned – all set to go, just waiting for the “issue” to trigger it. They likely have pre-set efforts for all major right-of-center voices. It is why the Never Trump people are such complete suck-ups to the left these days…their position is based upon not actually offending the left and so they are showing their paymasters that when push comes to shove, they’ll do their proper job of cutting Conservatism off at the knees. I just heard the latest report on the Honduran refugees headed to the US. More uneducated, low skilled, dependents headed this way to live off of our tax payer money – all thanks to the Democrat party.

Alexis Mashak, a physical education teacher who is also married, is accused of carrying on the relationship with the 17-year-old male student from November 2017 until March of this year, reports WKBT. She did not teach the student but he attended the same school district.

Let’s start with those Buddhist nuns hustled by Algore in one of his campaign contribution efforts. And all those Chinese busboys who managed to come up with thousands and thousands of dollars for Bill’s campaign. And since we are looking into the FBI they might still have those records that Jamie Gorelick tried to keep them from sharing with other intelligence agencies about Chinese campaign contributions. Johnny Huang—-is he still around to testify?
Would those extravagant “speaking fees” paid to the husband of the Secretary of State, and the lavish contributions made by foreign nations (including Russia) ostensibly to the Clinton Foundation qualify as foreign influences on American politics? Let’s take us a real good look-see, shall we?
I personally would like to know if there was any influence going back and forth between Obama and the Muslim Brotherhood—besides moral support, that is. And what about that Arab Spring? Any connections there? What was the quid pro quo involving, on the American side, the groveling of our president to various foreign dictators who were decidedly unfriendly to the United States, other than the propaganda he provided them?
Are we going to investigate American interference in the elections of other nations? If that interference involved using American taxpayer dollars to try to defeat candidates running in other countries, I want to know about it and I want to know NOW.
And while Mueller and his cronies are sniffing around the various backsides of various Dems before they get around to Trump, which is what they should be doing—-taking these investigations in chronological order—–someone ought to figure out just what Arabs and Russians thought they would have to gain by promoting the election of a guy who would immediately start to push for increased oil and gas production in the United States. You’d think they would have wanted Hillary and her anti-energy agenda, wouldn’t you? Not to mention her history of funneling high-quality and lethal armament to Islamic terror groups. Nothing like having an ally in the White House who loves arming Arabs.
This whole Mueller thing is starting to smell a lot like the old KBG—a powerful government agency that can just go snoop around anything that catches its fancy. They’ve already done the night-time-knock-on-the-door thing—-“gun up, boys, we’re gonna go get some papers from a bureaucrat!”
