President Trump went on a bit of a Twitter storm about Mueller:

There is No Collusion! The Robert Mueller Rigged Witch Hunt, headed now by 17 (increased from 13, including an Obama White House lawyer) Angry Democrats, was started by a fraudulent Dossier, paid for by Crooked Hillary and the DNC. Therefore, the Witch Hunt is an illegal Scam!

What do you guys think? Is he getting closer to firing Mueller? Some people think so – I have long argued he should, but its been so long I’m wondering if he ever will? Others theorize that Trump, Sessions, et al have their own plan to take care of this plus a great deal of other things right before the mid-terms. I guess anyone’s guess is as good as any other – but one thing I’ve noticed that in the really crucial policy moves of the Trump Administration, there are no leaks. Probably, if there is something cooking, no more than Trump and six or seven of his closest people know what it is.

Justice Ginsburg says she wants to stick around at least five more years…which is nice, but if she wants to make sure Trump doesn’t replace her, she’ll have to hang around until 2025, in my view. And even then she might find President Pence or President Haley offering up her replacement.

Powerline notes that Iran is up against the wall right now – thanks to Trump’s policies. One thing seems to be a constant under Trump: our friends do better, our enemies do worse.

Some Republicans are trying to slip through a bit of Chamber of Commerce-approved semi-amnesty garbage, apparently thinking that Trump will shy away from a budget fight less than 100 days from the midterms. This turns out to have been an incorrect assessment:

I would be willing to “shut down” government if the Democrats do not give us the votes for Border Security, which includes the Wall! Must get rid of Lottery, Catch & Release etc. and finally go to system of Immigration based on MERIT! We need great people coming into our Country!

Remember, Republicans have been gun-shy on government shutdown since the shutdowns in the mid-90’s which…did absolutely nothing to harm the GOP. And who can forget the government shutdown in 2013 which led, just the following year,…to the best GOP mid-term since the 1920’s? Seriously, I don’t get why the GOP thinks a shutdown is a bad thing. It never adversely affects the GOP and it often clarifies issues. And with Trump in the White House, you can rely on it that any shutdown will be crafted to discomfit the American people as little as possible. Immigration reform with strong border security is popular overall, and especially popular with the GOP base which needs to turn out in November to save the House. A shutdown over the issue will merely fire up the voters we need…so, do it, unless the Dems cave on border security (if they were smart, they would cave, as that would make a lot of GOP voters relax, and thus be less likely to show up in November).

Austin, Texas, is thinking of re-naming itself because Stephen Austin owned slaves. As part of the plan to ensure we keep re-electing Trump President, forever, this is great…but outside of that, it is idiocy. Austin was a man of his times – a Southerner who grew up with slavery as an established thing who also had his doubts about it as the concept of slavery as an evil was gaining currency in the Western World. That he was wrong to hold slaves – and in seeing to it that slavery remained legal in Texas – is a sin he cannot escape…but the bottom line is that he helped lay the foundations for Texas’ liberty which ultimately benefited all Texans. To expunge his name won’t change the past.

I’m sure you guys have heard of the straw ban. Absolute Progressive idiocy. Heard it is based upon the conclusions of a middle school kid’s science project. Wouldn’t surprise me if that were true. Paper straws will now make a comeback. Here’s the thing, for those of old enough to remember: we switched from paper to plastic in the 1970’s to save the trees. Now, we’re going to slaughter trees again…the circle is complete!

The aspect of this whole mess that has left me both puzzled and disappointed is that Trump hasn’t just declassified the entire FISA warrant, obtained largely from the Steele dossier. If he would do that, he wouldn’t need to fire Mueller. I caught part of a discussion about it over the weekend, with a Democrat arguing that there was nothing to it, and a Republican (might have been Nunes – I don’t remember) saying “that’s because all the good stuff was redacted.”

I have always thought that conservatives could easily accelerate the societal decline of liberalism if we just grant them their wishes. For example, let’s send all homeless people to California. That State obviously has more compassion than the rest of us, and who are we to question that? California is going out of their way to accommodate the homeless even allowing then to defecate on the streets so let’s help them and the homeless out by making sure all homeless people across the country become Californians…..and soon.

Let’s send all criminal illegal immigrants to Philadelphia:

    https://townhall.com/tipsheet/leahbarkoukis/2018/07/30/philadelphia-terminates-ice-contract-n2505015

That City just terminated the contract with ICE and proudly puts the rights of illegals over their own citizens, so let’s encourage that and empty the jails across the country by sending all illegal criminals to Philly.

Let’s insist that liberals walk the walk and not just talk the talk. If we actually held then to account for their ideology and beliefs …….. they would all abandon liberalism quickly

One of my favorite Churchill quotes is: “The vice of capitalism is that there is an unequal share of the blessings; the virtue of socialism is that there is an equal share of the misery.” It seems to me that we should do everything humanly possible to ensure that the equal share of the misery is confined to the various blue cysts that dot the coasts and a hand full of flyover country major metro areas. Maybe wall them all off from the rest of society. Leftists LOVE walls to keep people IN.

Something positive that the media haven’t been talking about (color me shocked) is the steady rise of the stock market. The DOW is back within 4-1/2% of its all-time high, while the S&P and the NASDAQ are both within a little over 2% of their all-time highs. That’s not to say that it couldn’t still crash right before the election, but summer is not usually the time of upward movement, thus the saying, “sell in May, and go away.” If the market is back to or near an all-time high, and the third quarter GDP growth is 3% of better, I don’t see a lot of independents and moderate Democrats saying, man, we’re getting tired of all this prosperity — better vote Democrat to bring it crashing down.”

Did anyone else catch the clip of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez on the Daily Show a couple days ago? Rush’s description of her as a “glittering jewel of colossal ignorance” is being kind. I do hope she is the new face of the Democrat Party.

    • Cluster July 30, 2018 / 1:40 pm

I did not see that but I have read accounts of it and each account was not kind to her …….. let’s make sure that Ocasio-Cortez is the new face of the Democrat party and let’s make sure that each and every Democrat candidate answer whether or not they support Ocasio-Cortez or not.

      Hold them to account !!!!

She has degrees in Economics and International Relations and yet is completely ignorant about both — even admits to not be knowledgeable about international affairs. She should demand a tuition refund. I have a feeling that she is going to be the new DWS, the gift that keeps on giving.

BTW, the embedded link in my previous post is to the Daily Show video clip.

MSNBC has all of a sudden found the good in the Koch Bros. now that they oppose Trump. That’s how superficial and transparent they are ….. and do they think we don’t notice this ??????

Trump has stripped the veneer off and exposed the establishment in all it’s glory. Without Trump

    – we would have never learned how some top federal bureaucrats actively meddled in a presidential election.
    – we would have never learned of the Awan family and the DNC servers and the collusion against Bernie Sanders
    – we would have never seen the true colors of people like George Will and Bill Kristol

And now Trump will continue to shine the light on the establishment as he requires them to work on immigration. Neither party wants this issue to be resolved because it is a money generating political football that enriches establishment politicians to the detriment of the American people. Watch the establishment cockroaches run for cover ….. we will know who they are

    • M. Noonan July 31, 2018 / 11:51 pm

Said years ago that Conservatives shouldn’t get too tight with the Koch brothers…we might find ourselves allied with them on some issues, but they are Libertarians through and through: and that means they want open borders and adherence to the global trade system currently in place. Libertarians will never go to bat for our free exercise of religion; they are lukewarm on property rights; they are firmly on the side of those who pollute the public square. Work with them when there is a clear, Conservative issue they are in favor of, but steer clear of them otherwise.

As I sit hear and listen to the liberal media hyperventilate over RUSSIA MEDDLING ….. I simply have to laugh, This is a HUGE nothing burger …..

Let’s recount what the Russians did –

    – they allegedly hacked into the DNC servers – well we don’t know that because the Democrats refused to turn over the server
    – they unsuccessfully attempted to hack into RNC and other federal servers – we should expect this and we should have the IT firepower to stop it
    – and they used social media accounts to sow discord and division – something of which is done everyday by other Americans.

THIS IS AMATEUR HOUR FOLKS …… as is every hour of every day in the liberal media

    • Retired Spook July 31, 2018 / 10:06 am

and they used social media accounts to sow discord and division – something of which is done everyday by other Americans.

And, from everything I heard and read, most of it was done AFTER the election, not before.

    • Amazona July 31, 2018 / 1:33 pm

If attempts to hack into RNC and other federal servers failed, doesn’t that tell you something?

We talked a little on another thread about cyberterrorism, and computer hacking being more of a threat than anything else because now computers control everything, from the electrical grids to naval ships at sea to passenger planes to the stock market. (I just read about how elaborate algorithisms, or “algos” manipulate stock trades in fractions of a second, leading to dominance of HFTs, or High Frequency Trades, in which a few powerful companies manipulate stock prices.)

      Anyway, today I saw this:

Last week, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed that Russian military intelligence has been hacking into U.S.power plants and selectively causing blackouts across the country — and they’ve been at it for at least a year.

      https://www.theblaze.com/video/glenn-beck-russia-has-been-hacking-u-s-power-grid-for-a-year-lack-of-alarm-is-mind-boggling

The book “One Second After”, about an EMP attack that drove the United States back to an almost medieval way of life by destroying electronics, including and especially the electrical grids, was so depressing I couldn’t even finish it. Now we learn that another nation would not even have to set off a nuclear bomb in the atmosphere to accomplish much the same thing. How many days without electricity could this nation stand and how many lives would be lost in a week, in two weeks? Merely by engaging malware planted in our systems by other nations, we could be crippled for weeks, losing millions of lives, and being nearly helpless if the bad guys can also control our defense computers. China is supposedly far ahead of Russia in its cyberterrorism research and development.

(Side note: Do you think knowing this might have something to do with Trump wanting cordial negotiations with Russia instead of spitting on Putin’s shoes and calling him a big old poopy-head?)

      • Cluster July 31, 2018 / 3:14 pm

How many days without electricity could this nation stand and how many lives would be lost…

How many Americans could function without their cell phones?

While the establishment class is doing everything they can to destroy Trump …… real danger lurks and our representatives are not acting in our nations best interest.

The only person forsaking political fortune and working for the American people ….. is Trump

Rep. Denny Heck (D-WA) is the most recent Democrat to cast doubt on Ocasio-Cortez’s win and to urge a more moderate agenda. While Heck does not agree with the Trump administration separating families at the border, he sees the value in having ICE crack down on illegal drugs and bring violent illegal immigrants to justice. He also voted to reauthorize the agency last year, to the chagrin of some progressives. His reasonable view on ICE even has some liberal voters cheering on Heck’s opponent, Tamborine Borrelli.

LET’S NOT LET THEM DISTANCE THEMSELVES FROM OCASIO-CORTEZ

Ocasio-Cortez IS the new Democratic party.

    What this guy said:

    1. Millions of Americans remain repulsed with the Washington status quo and find its return so perilous that they prefer the human embodiment of nitroglycerin in the White House, even with its attendant collateral damage, rather than taste again the malignant gruel Washington was serving them. They judge that the explosive ingredient in dynamite is safer than the stew of venomous elitism that fed the decline of their country. Trump’s steadfast support is an appraisal: It measures how America feels about Washington, D.C.

As I’ve noted before, Trump’s supporters elected an apex predator, a T-rex, to eat the smaller, slimier pillagers who were devouring them. These voters are not shocked when the T-rex acts like a T-rex and, on occasion, mates with an inappropriate object or, oops, possibly by mistake, eats grandma. Instead, they say, “I loved grandma. And I’ll miss her … but this is what we need to fight the Washington raptors, the bastards.”

    2. Nothing has changed in Washington since Donald Trump was elected. The D.C. establishment and the creaky, old political parties and legacy media have not learned anything from the beating this outsider gave them. As long as they hold enormous power, Trump voters will continue to cheer the bull in Washington’s china shop, as he breaks the remaining tea cups in the establishment’s precious displays.

      LOL!!

Describes exactly the way millions of Americans feel.

I loved ….. “as he breaks the remaining tea cups in the establishments precious displays”

This is fun isn’t it? Driving the left crazy ….. of course we all know that is a very short trip. Mika Brezinski is in full melt down mode. If she could save just one illegal immigrant child ……..

Funny enough I read a report yesterday about the numerous children in Chicago who are being raised by the state, extended family and/or neighbors because of the fact that their parents are either drug addled or dead. Thanks to Democrat policies …… but Mika doesn’t cry over those children.

Trump just called Rush to congratulate him on the 30th anniversary of his radio show. If you’re not listening, check out the transcript on his website later today.
