The Democrats seeded the audience for the Kavanaugh hearing with people who would deliberately try to disrupt the proceedings. The Democrat Senators all went on tirades against Kavanaugh. It was the most un-American, anti-democratic performance I’ve ever seen. I was disgusted and angered. I can only imagine the Democrats were trying to placate their base because they can’t in any way stop Kavanaugh from being confirmed. But I think what they did will turn off ever larger numbers of people.
To top it all off, one Progressive spied an anonymous lady sitting behind Kavanaugh and claimed that the position of her fingers amounted to a secret white power signal. Rather than having everyone laugh at him over it, bags of Progressives ran with it – they were seriously saying that this was the proof they needed that Trump is trying to secure white power fanatics for the Court. When it came out that she’s part Mexican and part Jewish (and descended from Jews who had to flee the Holocaust) that still didn’t stop the Progressives from claiming she’s a secret agent of white power! These people are certifiable!
OTOH, The Resistance set up a Twitter poll about Trump and 2020 and as of this time, with >214k votes cast, Trump is winning with 54% of the vote.
Bob Woodward wrote a book about Trump and made some claims some are finding unbelievable – especially General Mattis. Woodward has had a long-standing reputation as being a guy who can get White House staffers to talk. As for me, I’ve never really believed it. No White House staffer, of any President, is going to talk to Woodward unless he or she has permission to do so…and, so, will only say what is pre-approved. There’s no way a famous guy like Woodward can actually get a scoop. Its why guys like him aren’t workaday reporters…no one would go to such a person and spill it unless someone wanted it spilled. Woodward’s books have probably had some real insights into events, but to think he’s ever unearthed something in his books is absurd. My thinking is that no one who mattered in the White House spoke to Woodward – at least, not off the record. Woodward, at best, was only able to glean whatever Obama hold-overs could get…which was likely mostly second-hand stuff.
Britain’s Labour Party has a growing anti-Semitism problem. Lots of people complain about it, and their complaints are valid. Nothing, however, will be done about it. Labour’s future electoral health is based upon pleasing the rapidly growing Muslim population of Britain…Britain’s small Jewish population just won’t matter to Labour. I figure over the next decade Britain’s Jews will abandon Labour…and I wonder how long America’s Jews will continue to lend their support to the Democrats?
Liberals just don’t like America – nor the fact that the first man on the Moon was an American. They really don’t like their nation – First Man is just another symptom of it. Think about even some good movies – like, for instance, “Saving Private Ryan”. It was great – wonderfully done movie. But, still, think about it: the movie isn’t about the bravery of the troops or the magnificent victory they won: it was merely about who lived and died, who suffered and how much. We’re not supposed to be proud of the Army Rangers, but sorry for their plight. Even though most of them were double volunteers (volunteered for the Army, then volunteered for the Rangers; same thing for the Paratroopers).
Most of the real fighting in WWII wasn’t done by draftees – not in the sense of men who had to be forced into the fight. Even if they were particularly drafted, it was likely because they were told to wait for call-up as the military couldn’t take them when they presented themselves for service (the late William Manchester explained this about himself in his autobiographical “Goodbye, Darkness“). As Morrison put it, we had tough guys eager to fight against the enemy. And tough they were. And we should be proud of them. They weren’t lambs lead to slaughter, but lions who grabbed the enemy by the throat and slew them without remorse. But you can’t say that any more in the movies…it would offend liberals, and hurt ticket sales in China
Nike picked Kaepernick as their new model. Using the ridiculous tag line of “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.” Hate to break it to ya, Nike, but Kaepernick didn’t sacrifice his career for his cause…if was any good, he’d still be playing; and the fans would even put up with kneeling, if he could at least get better than 4-12 on the year. But to be an overpaid second-rater and then complain about America? That just pisses people off.
Jon Kyl to replace Senator McCain: “ Unlike McCain — who opposed a partial repeal of former President Obama’s health care law before he died, for example — Republicans are hopeful Kyl will be a “reliable partisan vote,” The Associated Press reported.
It will be interesting to see how he votes and acts on a number of things. I certainly hope he won’t be a such a RINO as McCain was. At any rate, this should help solidify Kavanaugh’s confirmation though many on the left may have thought with McCain out of the way they might have a chance.
Despite Mattis, Kelly, Sanders, etc., emphatically denying the accounts in the book, MSNBC is touting Woodward’s book as gospel truth. The disconnect is mind numbing and their hatred is completely unhinged.
Another socialist Democrats defeats an incumbent:

The progressive left is hell bent on destroying the Democrat Party and it’s fun to watch.
In the matter of the young Stalinist defeating the aging Trotskyite in MA, I’m on the side of the bright, young Stalinists. Why should they stand for Progressives who talk a great game about the Revolution but only deliver subsidies for cronies? There’s also this: the more the Democratic mask gets ripped off to reveal the Communist reality underneath, the better for us.
Also on the side of the young Stalinists hunting down and purging all the old Trotskyites.
Blue on blue is always fun to watch.
Do you think this will be mentioned today in the MSM?
A man rammed his truck into the studios of Dallas Fox affiliate KDFW earlier this morning, just two days after Meet the Press host Chuck Todd published an article calling on his media colleagues to “start fighting back” against Fox News.

Awesome speech by Senator Ted Cruz during the Kavanaugh hearing. Reminds me again why he was my first choice in 2016.
Meanwhile, there’s Dianne Feinstein. I realize she’s getting on in years (she was my age back in 1986, after all), but she was just dense today. She was trying to nail down Kavanaugh on something I’m sure a SJW on her staff thought was crucial…whether or not “assault weapons” are in common use. Her problem was that she apparently believes – or, her SJW staffer believes – that there is a class of weapons called “assault weapons” which are different from other weapons. For crying out loud, if I use a rock to hit you, then my rock has just become an Assault Rock!
Kavanaugh tried to point out that the case she was talking about was about a ban on semi-automatic pistols…and his (correct) view was that in functionality, there was no difference between a semi-auto pistol and a semi-auto rifle and as both weapons were in common use, then per SC precedent (and the plain meaning of the 2A, as well), a ban on semi-auto pistols, as such, didn’t pass Constitutional muster. Feinstein just couldn’t grasp it…she seemed actually irritated with Kavanaugh. This was something she felt crucial, and Kavanaugh’s answer, no matter how politely cast (and he was very polite) worked out to “you don’t know what the f*** you’re talking about, Senator”.
In terms of sowing national discord and meddling in elections – the Democrats and our Media make the Russians look like amateurs.
I caught just a few minutes of Rush and Mark Steyn had a guest on who was perfectly describing the circus we find ourselves in and that it’s the “campus culture” that is now becoming public and mainstream for progressives. The victim culture is in full bloom.
Spook – did you hear that segment?
I caught bits and pieces of today’s show, but I didn’t hear that segment. I certainly wouldn’t disagree with what the guest said. I’ve been saying that myself for quite a while. If we end up losing the culture war, most of the blame rests with our abdication of the academic arena, IMO.
I smell treason in the air.
I think the Deep State and the Media are on thin ice and had better think carefully about their next move …….
Don’t you think that a lot, maybe most of the off-the-wall stuff that Trump either does, says or is accused of doing or saying is not serious on his part, just designed to keep his adversaries off balance? Either that or saner minds advising him almost always prevail, and that doesn’t seem more plausible to me than the former. I think Trump delights in making his opponents heads explode, but if you examine actions/results and not rhetoric/threats, it’s hard to come to any other conclusion; unless, of course, you’ve got a severe case of TDS, in which case nothing he does or says is legitimate. The biggest difference between Trump and virtually any Republican President in recent memory is that he’s the first to push back. That doesn’t necessarily make it bad. In fact, I find it strangely refreshing. The opposition, OTOH, has just become batsh*t crazy and unhinged. Much of what they say and do makes Trump look like the sanest guy in the room. Where’s the criticism of them? Certainly not in in the MSM.
There’s already some walk back of the op-ed…now, I guess, the claim is they got it through a third party. Personally, I’m not sure if such a person even exists…but I can’t imagine any set of circumstances which would make the author a major player in Trump Admin policy.
And if the person really does exist (I’m skeptical as well), why would they announce to the world in the NYT what they’re doing? Doesn’t pass the smell test.
It doesn’t – if things are horrible, you resign and go public. If you’re just cog in the Democrats November Message Machine, you pen an anonymous op-ed in the NY Times.
Aside from the fact that I don’t possess Kurt Schlichter’s style and wit, I could have written his column today. In fact, combine pieces of what I’ve written on this blog over the years, and I’ve probably made every one of his points.
OTOH, some of the youngsters seem to be shifting right…or, at least, shifting non-left. I’ve seen some polling data which indicates that at least Millenial men have just about enough of the Progressive SJW garbage. It makes sense, after all: remember, if you’re male, you’re the enemy…if a white male, the double enemy…if a straight, white male, the triple enemy. All you’ve heard for your whole life is how bad you are and how you have to move aside, regardless of your own efforts, and allow others to shine. Its gotta suck to be in that position…and maybe some are starting to say, “you know, if being Progressive means I’ve got to sit down and shut up, then MAGA, baby!”.
Another good sign is that, in several of the recent special elections, GOP voters exceeded polling estimates AND Democrat voters by a significant margin. I recall you saying that you suspected Trump was going to win in 2016 when GOP voter registration in PA went through the roof. I think that dynamic is still at work, but you sure aren’t going to hear about it from the MSM.
The polls still mostly say “Blue Wave”…but, if it were so, I think CNN’s ratings would be up. The NFL wouldn’t be fretting about another season of declining ratings. Nike wouldn’t have taken a massive stock hit after making Kaepernick their spokesdude. Trump wouldn’t be able to rally thousands at short notice. I don’t know – of course, no one really knows. You can look and analyze and pontificate…but, at the end of the day, a section of the population troops to the polls and that tells you what was really happening all along. As late as Election Day, 2016, I wasn’t sure which way it would go…I was only sure that there were strong indicators against an easy, big Hillary win. I didn’t relax about it until the first word out of Michigan was “not what was expected”. At that, I knew that Trump was almost sure to win…because MI not being in the bag meant a whole bunch of things weren’t going Hillary’s way…and, in hindsight, hadn’t been going her way for quite a while (people forget she cancelled her planned fireworks display…she knew darned well at least 10 days before the election she was beat).
You might remember the kid who used to post here under the name of Andropov…I’m still Facebook friends with him. He’s even more pinko than he was back in the day and is a committed Democrat activist. I tend to just not talk politics around him much because I don’t see the point…I left him alone, entirely, about politics in 2016 because he was just enjoying it so much. Honestly didn’t want to burst his bubble. I remember after the early exits came out he posted the comment “It’s happening!”…he was so sure Hillary had won. Even then (and by then, I already had some indicators things were looking ok for Trump) I left him alone. Now, he’s all certain of a gigantic Blue Wave – and, yesterday, I put the comment on one of his Blue Wave posts “The Democrats will lose seats in November”. He laughed. But, he copied the comment…he can’t wait for November!
OTOH, CNN’s ratings are in the toilet…and I wonder if he even realizes that fact.
I think it’s about time that we can all just sit back and watch them implode and slip into insanity.
Pass the popcorn please ……..
Well, after countless hours of bullying and badgering, and over 200 disruptions in the 4 days of Judge Kavanaugh’s hearing, he did an outstanding job of maintaining his composure and mental sanity. Awesome job, Brett! Well done!
Poor old Senator Grassley, had to put up with all those crying, screaming children on the left.
