I have had it up to here with all this whining about slavery. It was in the past. Get past it and get over it. And if you are going to make slavery and objections to it the focal point of your life, at least have the intellectual honesty to address all slavery, wherever it has existed and where it exists now. i can’t and won’t defend slavery. It is an affront to human dignity. But some things are worse. The slavery of the Left in places like the USSR and China, where slaves were literally worked to death, was far worse than the relatively benign slavery of the early United States. The treatment of prisoners of war by the Japanese was at least as bad as much of the treatment meted out by Nazis in their camps, yet the people of nations who had military imprisoned and tortured in those camps don’t obsess about what happened 65 years ago.
I am disgusted by people who trivialize human rights abuses like slavery by turning them into campaign slogans, or ways to promote themselves. And I am even more disgusted by the hypocrisy of these pious self-congratulatory virtue signalers, as they carry on about the portrayal of a historical flag while ardently, stridently, supporting the idea that one person (a pregnant female) can own the body of another person, even to the point of killing it, or supporting the selling of children to be used as pawns in a corrupt political scheme. I would have marginally less contempt for them if they were at least consistent, and against all ownership of people by other people. But they prefer to carry on about what they consider symbolic ownership of people by claiming that owning a business employing people is somehow comparable to owning those people, or obsessing about history of two centuries past.

Perhaps this would be a good time to step up the verbal “attacks” on her. Maybe force her to rethink being a politician, or opening her big mouth advocating prosecuting those who legally exercise the first amendment rights – real rights, not some fictitious rights made up by the left. Maybe getting a small taste of what many on the right deal with every day might change her attitude.
