Have you bought your copy of Mirrors, yet? A fairly good number have – don’t be left out!
Also, don’t be left out of Matt’s new offering: Trumping Obama: How President Trump Saved Us from Barack Obama’s Legacy.
We’ve been busy little authors, haven’t we? Meanwhile, I’ve already started on Part II of my fiction series, to be titled Secrets. Hope – and I really will work on it – to have it out in January.
The Left is now pointing out that 2 of McConnell’s 8 great-great-grandfathers owned slaves. I guess they are really going to run on this reparations thing. I think it’ll be disastrous for them, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Perhaps there is a majority who think we have to shell out because 150 years ago, some people did bad things.
FredoCon David French is wringing his hands and getting all, “well, I never!” over a survey which claims that Christians – especially white Evangelicals – feel little or no obligation to take in refugees. But, do we have such an obligation? Meaning, does our Christian faith require us to take in everyone who lives in a lousy country? I can’t see how – welcoming the stranger is a requirement, but does this extend to essentially whole nations wishing to leave their homelands? I can’t see how – mainly because it is impossible for us to do so. The lousy nations of the world are lousy – and the good nations of the world are getting lousy – because of a moral failure which goes far beyond whether or not we’ll let a refugee in. Right after WWII the Ruling Class of the world made the determination that lousy people shall be allowed to flourish. That the West – the moral leader of the world – would not exercise its power to force barbarians to be civilized. The result has been very predictable: the barbarians have asserted themselves. We can fix the world – but it would require us to be the world’s overlords. Unless you want to do that, don’t try to sell me the notion that I have a moral obligation to take in each and every victim of barbarism.
Yes, I have heard about the Epstein arrest – hadn’t really paid much attention to that saga. My guess – with limited knowledge – is that he’s a pimp. A procurer of certain products for rich degenerates who then trades on that to obtain great wealth. I’m pretty sure not much will come of it – too many highly placed people are tied up in this. The Left is trying to work it up as an anti-Trump thing but I fully expect Trump to be clean on this as he has been on everything else they’ve tried on him. Trump does like pretty women – but women, not girls. Melania is younger than Trump, of course, but she married the man when she was 35 and is now 49. If Trump was into very young, this would not be what he did.
Barr says he’ll get the citizenship question on the census. I think that Trump should just do it, Courts be damned. It is clearly not something the Courts have any authority over – there is no case to be made that anyone suffers harm by the government asking someone if they are a citizen. People get asked this every time they seek employment, for crying out loud.
99.99% of Americans have no idea who Chandra Bose was – but, he was an Indian nationalist who made common cause with Hitler and Japan during WWII. He is considered a hero among parts of the Indian population. Be that as it may, he did buddy up to Hitler…and AOC’s chief of staff has been wearing a shirt with Bose’s image on it. Not cool.
Spook has been entertaining and informing us with his posting of favorite quotes. I recently received an email from a mutual friend of ours so I imagine Spook got it, too, and from it I copied this, a quotation from the book 1984 by George Orwell.
Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And that process is continuing day be day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except the endless present in which the party is always right.
It was such a chilling description of the United States today, under the strong influence if not absolute control of the Left, that it reinforced my comments that Orwell has moved from the category of author to that of prophet.
Many people today don’t know anything about the book 1984, by George Orwell. It came out in 1949 and stood as a chilling warning of the evils and miseries of a massively powerful Central Authority.
Nineteen Eighty-Four, often published as 1984, is a dystopian novel by English writer George Orwell published in June 1949, whose themes centre on the risks of government overreach, totalitarianism and repressive regimentation of all persons and behaviours within society. The novel is set in an imagined future, the year 1984, when much of the world has fallen victim to perpetual war, omnipresent government surveillance, historical negationism and propaganda.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nineteen_Eighty-Four
From a summary of the plot, showing the parallels between the imagined future of the book and real present of today: Orwell invented concepts such as “thought crimes” and the “Thought Police” and actually foresaw things such as the invention by the State of a new language (so far, at least, only applied to the new politics of gender warfare, but it’s just a matter of time….)
The Party controls everything in Oceania, even the people’s history and language. Currently, the Party is forcing the implementation of an invented language called Newspeak, which attempts to prevent political rebellion by eliminating all words related to it. Even thinking rebellious thoughts is illegal. Such thoughtcrime is, in fact, the worst of all crimes.

Winston works in the Ministry of Truth, where he alters historical records to fit the needs of the Party.

The Party also claims that Emmanuel Goldstein, the alleged leader of the Brotherhood, is the most dangerous man alive,
http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/1984/summary/
I had to laugh out loud when I read that the Party claimed that someone who stood for opposition to its efforts was claimed to be the most dangerous man alive. How many times have we heard this about Trump? It’s like the Left has looked to the book not as fiction, or an allegory, or a warning, but as a guide book.
When we studied 1984 in school it was as a warning of the evils and dangers of what was, though not identified as such, Leftist governance. Now I have a feeling that if it were taught at all it might be as an example of the benefits of same.
I like the excerpt from the book as the Quote of the Day. That said, I still think we’re a long way from a government that has that kind of power and control. The day I’ll really start to worry is the day the government announces that the last gun has been removed from private ownership, because the only way “1984” policies will be enacted and enforced in this country is after the public is disarmed.
Oh, it’s still a warning, not an observation. But the road to tyranny is incremental, and we are too much like the frogs in the pot, not really paying much attention as the water gets hotter.
As I have said, I haven’t had an alarmed response when I have talked about the prison in Berlin that was built to detain, punish and torture people not for what they did but for what they thought. I expected a reaction other than a rather bored look and…crickets. I expected some kind of response to the observation that our government under Obama, and what seems like most of the Democrat Party, seem to approve and agree with Beria’s statement “Show me the man and I will find you the crime”. There is remarkably little alarm at a system which first identifies a man and then looks for a crime to charge him with, much less using/abusing the power of the State to do so.
We haven’t torn down every statue nor have we renamed every street or building or school. We haven’t painted over every mural featuring the heroes of the Revolution, or the Founders. But “…that process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. “.
Here on this blog, when I referred to examples of failures of Leftism and horrors of tyranny a resident troll scolded me for being “a slave to history”.
You are right in saying “…the only way “1984” policies will be enacted and enforced in this country is after the public is disarmed..” but every incremental erosion of the will to recognize the encroachment of tyranny makes that easier for the Left. And I would restate your comment to say “…the only way ALL OF THE “1984” policies will be enacted and enforced in this country is after the public is disarmed..” I am alarmed by the fact that some of them are already in play, already part of our culture, already accepted and embedded in our consciousness. Too much has been lost already and more will be lost, even if it never comes to the final step of total enslavement.
The most recent howls from the Left are about the allegedly horrible conditions in detainment centers along the border, conditions so foul, so disgusting, so inhumane that their horrors surpass any experience any of the detainees have ever experienced. They are clearly the modern equivalent of the Japanese POW camps, or the concentration camps of the Soviets and the Nazis.
This upsets me, so much so that I think the only rational thing to do is to alleviate the suffering associated with being detained by simply sending these people home. Send some lawyers in to take all their information and fill out their asylum forms and put their names on lists, and then line up nice buses or even airplanes and return them to the much better conditions they left behind to wait for their applications to be processed.
If they are so miserable in the detention centers, if they find the conditions so appalling, then perhaps the conditions back home are seeming comparatively less awful. For the cost of a week of caring for these people, we could put together little travel packs of toothbrushes and shampoo and bottled water and protein bars and lease a fleet of buses or airplanes to return them to any of several original departure points. I’d even opt for giving each adult $100 to help cover the cost of getting from the drop off point back home to wherever.
And then I would openly label these detention centers as turnaround sites, where illegals can rest up, get showers and some good food while the Left’s volunteer lawyers do their paperwork, and then in three or four days put them on government-funded transportation back to wherever.
I would accompany this announcement of the new purpose of the detention centers with the statement that as of January 1, 2020, absolutely NO asylum applications will be taken at the border. If we have this new wonderful agreement with Mexico there should be no problem in setting up offices all over southern Mexico where people can file their applications close to home, eliminating the dangers and expenses of traveling to the US border.
The absolute utter insanity of accepting asylum applications at the border has to end. That, and the Bring A Kid Get In Free policy of the Obama years, which we still have not repealed, have caused untold misery for hundreds of thousands of people who rightly see these policies as invitations to spend money and take risks and even buy or steal children to take advantage of them.
These are good solutions but the last thing the Democrats want is a solution. Must keep the crisis going.
Is the cowboy hat worn by Rep. Frederica Wilson cultural appropriation?
Asking for a friend
I think she got written permission from the estate of Howdy Doody to adopt his unique style of perching headware on the tippy-top of the head.
I don’t believe there is any other culture that features hats way too small and precariously attached to the crown of the head.
I would, however, take exception to the description “COWBOY hat”. Not even a rhinestone cowboy would be caught dead near one of those abominations. Or a cowgirl. Or, for that matter, a cow.
So Tommy Steyer is entering the POTUS race which presents an interesting challenge. Let’s face it, Joe Biden is senile, Bernie is yesterdays news, Warren’s angry grandmother schtick will not last long, and Kamala Harris is Hillary Clinton without the charm so I don’t see any of these candidates even coming close to beating Trump. Steyer on the other hand is an independent billionaire with no political experience and we all saw what happened last time a billionaire entered the race. There is however a stark contrast between the two.
Trump – believes in a lightly regulated capitalist market that offers equal opportunity where individuals can innovate, create, and pursue entrepreneurial dreams, believes in a strong defense and works everyday to protect it’s borders, it’s honor, it’s culture, and it’s citizens
Steyer however believes in a highly regulated socialist market where individuals must defer to the State to look after them with the promise of free healthcare, education, and guaranteed “green” jobs. Steyer believes that no human is illegal and that illegal immigrant children have as much right to this country as kids in Chicago, Baltimore, etc., and that America is just one of many other countries … nothing special to it.
This is a race America needs. It’s time for the entire country to see Democrats without their masks.
Re: immigration, Willie Geist just asked one of the mindless MSNBC pundits this question – “whose responsibility is it that these kids are safe and taken care of” To which she responded by invoking Congress and DHS, while I was screaming at the tv – “it’s their Father’s responsibility” !!!!! Most men on this planet suck. They are either pajama boys like Simon, or selfish hedonists. I have no use for either of them.
And this outrage in the media over Epstein is hilarious. Every politician and media pundit has known what Epstein was up to for years. They all went to his fundraising parties and rubbed elbows when they could. Don’t believe a single word they say – THEY ARE ALL SCUM
Good news – next year the men’s soccer team is going to identify as women and compete as women, so the equal pay issue will be resolved. How cool is that?
Apparently, the 15 year old boys team would be sufficient for us to win that contest.
Millionaires, billionaires and tech moguls are swarming Sun Valley for the annual invite-only Allen & Company conference. The gathering brings together the worlds of film, technology, design and sports each year in Idaho. On Tuesday, early arrivals included Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, Instagram COO Marne Levine, Imagine Entertainment co-founder Brian Grazer, Alice and Olivia CEO Stacey Bendet, former NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw, and 23andMe CEO Anne Wojcicki. According to the conference guest list, Mark Zuckerberg and Disney head Bob Iger also expected to attend. The full list of topics has not yet been announced for this year’s event, which takes place every July just after the holiday.
And they all arrived by private jet. With just 12 years left to live on this planet, you would think they would be more responsible.
Great article on the Epstein outrage with one very important reminder:
Hillary Clinton not only successfully defended a barbaric rapist who left a young girl in a coma for weeks, but boasted about it. She got him off on a technicality and laughed in an interview that she personally transported the defendant’s stained underpants to a forensic scientist in order to do so. She knew that her client was guilty and went to great lengths to get him off.
Shove their shit right down their throats. We need to be violent in defense of conservatism and our values.

Apparently Bill and Hillary thought Epstein a fit person to invite to their daughter’s wedding AFTER his first conviction. This guy is connected all over the place…and given what he does, I figure the connection has to be of the blackmail sort. Once you became one of his customers, you simply had to play along with him. Now, if he’s offered a deal, then you know it is a corrupt hack to try and get him to lie about something Trump…but if he’s looking at 25 to life, he’s going to spill it on everyone.
A question for everyone here: One of us used to link to a Curt Schlichter article in TownHall.com once or twice a week. Earlier this year I stopped getting TownHall.com in my inbox. I really enjoyed reading the various contributors to townHall, so I re-subscribed with no result. I re-subscribed several more times. Finally I used the contact tab to email them. Nothing. I figured they must have so many subscribers they didn’t need any more.sarc// Recently I emailed them again and told them I didn’t care at this point if I received TownHall; I just wanted to know why they eliminated me from their subscription list.. Still nothing. Anyone had a similar experience? I had the same thing happen a couple years ago with The Blaze.
I didn’t realize you need a subscription. I just go to Townhall.com and read his articles …. here’s the latest

Have a good day everyone, I am off to try and put more kids in cages and take away their toothbrushes
I didn’t realize you need a subscription
You don’t need a subscription to read it, just to get it sent to you via email every day. What can I say, I’ve gotten lazy in my old age.
LOL, hey I am counting on you to help me put kids in cages …
What about beds? Are you going to make them sleep on the floor?
I kind of like those tin foil things Obama gave them in 2014 … lol
Oh and Nancy Pelosi is a racist. How dare she criticize a “woman of color”
Clearly the evil Border Patrol took away the toothbrushes their loving parents sent with them, along with toothpaste and snacks, when they sold/loaned them to men who needed to have children with them to take advantage of Obama’s Bring A Kid Get In Free offer. No caring parent would send a child off to cross a large and often inhospitable country on a journey fraught with danger and often lethal, without access to good dental hygiene.
I love this:
Republican candidate for Mississippi governor says he would not let a woman journalist follow him while campaigning unless she was accompanied by a male colleague.
That’s exactly right. In the age #MeToo, I think all men should take extra precaution when around women.
“…I think all men should take extra precaution when around women…. and I, a woman, agree. Far too many women these days simply cannot be trusted, and even if a woman acts honorably it only takes one weasel “journalist” with a camera to create an entire scandalous narrative.
I was lucky enough to be brought up in an age where women were taught to take care of themselves. When one of the Kingston Trio came up behind me and reached around me to grab a breast, I spun and nearly crushed his larynx with my elbow—not appreciated by a man who was supposed to be onstage singing in a few minutes—and went back to doing what I had been doing. (He was short—that tactic usually landed an elbow in the middle of the chest.) When I had to meet a salesman from another region to do joint sales calls and got to the designated town to have him tell me he had only gotten one room for both of us “to save money” I just gave him the stinkeye, said “I will never be that hard up” and went up to the desk and got my own room. (The desk clerk was loving it.) It didn’t traumatize me or give me the vapors. I didn’t need anyone to come save me. Girls and women of my era just didn’t fret about every little thing. We had lives to live.
But now, today, I think any man who mentors a woman, who travels with a female co-worker, who even has dinner with one, is setting himself up for attacks that can destroy his career and reputation and maybe even cost him every cent he has. So much business is done on the golf course, over drinks, over long late dinners, and now many women will be exiled from these events. And they can thank “The Women’s Movement”.
So what have the “Woman’s Movement” and its ugly stepsisters accomplished? They have cut off access to power by limiting the ability of men to mentor them. Unless they want to take the Kamala Harris route and openly sleep their way into power, they have self-isolated themselves. They are in the process of absolutely destroying women’s high school and collegiate sports, by allowing them to be taken over by men pretending to be women. So much for sports scholarships, so much for Title Nine. Within a couple of years women’s sports will be over, for all intents and purposes.
There is great gnashing of feminist teeth over the simple fact that fewer people pay to watch women’s sports than men’s events. Surely someone has to realize that when spectators can’t even tell if the players are real women that attendance will drop even farther. How many families will take their daughters to events that used to be held up as examples of what girls could accomplish if they worked hard, when the girls who did work hard are coming in third and fourth to boys who just shaved their legs and let their hair grow?
The captain of the most prominent women’s sport today is busy convincing the world that lesbians are sour, nasty, bitchy and hateful and not very smart, as she proclaims that Trump has done things anyone can tell, with even minimal research, he was never involved in to any degree in any way. She is also single-handedly wiping out any status or glory in her team’s victory, here and abroad, using the team to show bad sportsmanship, nasty personalities and disdain for their own country. So much for winning people over to the LGBTQ side—-who’d want to be anywhere near her?
I am appalled at the images of women created by the Left—either snarly and bitchy or whiny and victimized, who take no responsibility for anything in their lives, who are so pathologically selfish and narcissistic that they kill their own babies because they are inconvenient, who use sex to get what they want and then don victim cloaks when they want to join a new movement and get attention. When I see the Handmaiden costumes and the outrageously bad-taste genitalia outfits I cringe and an ashamed of my gender.
