Trump Impeachment

It is less than it seems so far – for there to be a real impeachment inquiry, the House would have to vote to do so, and so far Pelosi isn’t making that move…and it can’t be for lack of votes: such a thing would garner 218 (at least) votes in the House because too many Democrats would face a primary challenge if they didn’t go along with it. So, why isn’t she moving forward? My view is that the far left base of the Democrats – mostly upper class, urban whites – are the only people on fire for impeachment and Pelosi is trying to thread the needle: make it seem like she’s doing it, but not actually doing it.

The trouble is, these things have a way of just growing on their own. People in the Democrat ranks are already staking out extreme positions and in an election year, the need to one-up on it will make it more likely that nearly everyone stakes out such a position. Democrats are caught in a vise – their attempt to separate Trump from his base – that is all Trump/Russia was ever about – has failed but their own stalwarts have taken it as Gospel. And if you really believe that Trump is a Russian agent placed in office by Putin – and that is what they believe – then there can be no reason not to impeach. To try to hold back from the last step might prove impossible.

No one can tell how this will play out: we know Trump is innocent and so any airing of the facts will help Trump. But the political dynamic is unprecedented: we’ve never had a President actively seeking re-election while an impeachment plays out. Get ready for a wild ride.

I think the American people love President Trump and what he is doing for the country. He’s helped get so many out of poverty. He’s working to get the opioid crisis solved. He’s securing our country, both military and around the border. Building us a big beautiful wall! It’s nice, it really is. He’s making our Country richer than ever before! In all of the history of America!

I think most people hope that President Trump gets to enjoy another term as America’s President. And I think a lot of people don’t want to see his Presidency overthrown. Whoever that percentage of people belongs to, I’m with them. I hope if the Democrats overthrow this duly elected President, I hope there is an uprising. People should be so sick of the Democrats that they should be willing to take action.

Pelosi is obviously so freaked out by the challenges to her authority and position she is willing to lie to the country—at least to purposely put an ominous spin on the truth.

In her speech she said: “”This week, the president has admitted to asking the president of Ukraine to take actions which would benefit him politically,” Pelosi said. “The actions of the Trump presidency revealed dishonorable facts of the president’s betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of national security and betrayal of the integrity of our elections.”

Wow, a little overheated in you hyperbole there, Nan. Trying to match the hysterics of AOC?
Of course, the whole charade depends on the Dem choice to claim that Trump is threatened by a Biden competition for the presidency, which is laughable. If anything Trump is probably hoping Biden will be the nominee. But the whole thing is so vague—–one could say that if the president asked a world leader to cease hostile actions toward a neighbor that might benefit him politically.

Then she goes on, in another statement, doubling down: “The president of the United States has admitted that he spoke to the president of another country — that would be the Ukraine — about something that would assist him in his election,”

Again, anything Trump said to the new president of Ukraine that would result in anything positive would “assist him in his election” as it would show him to be a productive leader.

But where she outright LIED, instead of just spinning, is when she said ” “The actions of the Trump presidency revealed dishonorable facts of the president’s betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of national security and betrayal of the integrity of our elections.” There is nothing dishonorable about supporting a new president’s desire to investigate corruption, particularly when it appears the last president was bought off to cease an investigation. “Betrayal of national security ?!” Oh, give us a break, Nan. Your nose must have grown inches for that whopper. Having Ukraine investigate its internal issues with corruption, with the blessing of the United States, will pose a threat to our national security? (I almost said “Your nose must have grown a foot, and then realized that would be silly…)

How about “betrayal of the integrity of our elections”?

Let’s take a look at Ukraine’s involvement in undermining the integrity of the last election, shall we, Nan? Or is there a fear that a Ukrainian investigation might result in more being learned about the Ukrainian government, through its embassy and some officials, overtly acting to assist the Clinton campaign? You know, Hillary and the DNC COLLUDING with a foreign nation to influence the outcome of our election?

From Politico: The Financial Times “… noted that Trump’s candidacy had spurred “Kiev’s wider political leadership to do something they would never have attempted before: intervene, however indirectly, in a U.S. election,” and the story quoted Leshchenko asserting that the majority of Ukraine’s politicians are “on Hillary Clinton’s side.

    Or, from the same article:

“It was clear that they were supporting Hillary Clinton’s candidacy,” Artemenko said. “They did everything from organizing meetings with the Clinton team, to publicly supporting her, to criticizing Trump I think it is clear here that the “they” he references are “the majority of Ukraine’s politicians”, who were organizing meetings with the Clinton team, etc.

Or: Alexandra Chalupa, who had worked in the White House Office of Public Liaison during the Clinton administration. Chalupa went on to work as a staffer, then as a consultant, for Democratic National Committee.

    ..snip..

She occasionally shared her findings with officials from the DNC and Clinton’s campaign Chalupa said.

    …snip…

“…with the DNC’s encouragement, Chalupa asked embassy staff to try to arrange an interview in which Poroshenko might discuss Manafort’s ties to Yanukovych.

While the embassy declined that request, officials there became “helpful” in Chalupa’s efforts, she said, explaining that she traded information and leads with them. “If I asked a question, they would provide guidance, or if there was someone I needed to follow up with.”

    …snip…

“…Andrii Telizhenko, who worked as a political officer in the Ukrainian Embassy under Shulyar, said she instructed him to help Chalupa research connections between Trump, Manafort and Russia. “Oksana said that if I had any information, or knew other people who did, then I should contact Chalupa,” recalled Telizhenko, who is now a political consultant in Kiev. “They were coordinating an investigation with the Hillary team on Paul Manafort with Alexandra Chalupa,” he said, adding “Oksana was keeping it all quiet,” but “the embassy worked very closely with” Chalupa.

    …snip…

Chalupa further indicated in her hacked May email to the DNC that she had additional sensitive information about Manafort that she intended to share “offline” with Miranda and DNC research director Lauren Dillon, including “a big Trump component you and Lauren need to be aware of that will hit in next few weeks and something I’m working on you should be aware of.”

I can see why Dems are in a snit about the possibility of corruption investigations being reopened in Ukraine.

The Democrats are dirty and I hope this is the beginning of their demise. The Clinton Global Initiative was nothing more than a slush fund for peddling influence – pay to play. Donate heavily to the CGI and receive favorable legislation … period. Harry Reid retired abruptly because of the corruption he was involved in and the list is even too long to post so here is a summary:

    https://www.judicialwatch.org/corruption-chronicles/corruption-scandals-led-to-harry-reids-abrupt-retirement/

And now Biden’s plan to enrich himself and his son has been brought up and the Democrats are apoplectic. This is how the Democrats operate – corruption and grift and Trump is the antidote. There is a reason why politicians, primarily Democrats, leave Washington fabulously wealthy. They sell out American tax payers at every opportunity to enrich themselves and the complicit media covers for them. I sincerely hope that what Rudy said last night is what unfolds over the next few days.

“The Democrats have stepped into something way beyond what they realize.”

Per the transcript … Trump – “it sounds horrible to me”

It sounds horrible to all of us. Hunter Biden making $600K a year from a Ukraine energy company while his Dad was VP and when Hunter had no experience in the energy pipeline field nor does he even speak the language. The Ukraine company was also under investigation for corruption and Dad threatened to hold back American tax payer money unless that prosecutor was fired.

It is blatant DC corruption and the Democrats are trying to make this a Trump problem.

  6. R. Murphy September 25, 2019 / 11:20 am

There are an awful lot of those Democrats you say without for impeachment that have to know they be losing in their district that won by 1 percent or less in districts that voted for Trump by doing so. I’m not sure that decision is as easy for them as you imply Mark.

  7. Retired Spook September 25, 2019 / 11:26 am

Well — to quote Joe Biden: Son-of-a-bitch.

We don’t yet know whether President Trump delayed some military aid to Ukraine as leverage to get Ukraine’s president to reopen an investigation into Hunter Biden. But if we are concerned about U.S. officials inappropriately threatening aid to Ukraine, then there are others who have some explaining to do.

It got almost no attention, but in May, CNN reported that Sens. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) and Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.) wrote a letter to Ukraine’s prosecutor general, Yuriy Lutsenko, expressing concern at the closing of four investigations they said were critical to the Mueller probe. In the letter, they implied that their support for U.S. assistance to Ukraine was at stake. Describing themselves as “strong advocates for a robust and close relationship with Ukraine,” the Democratic senators declared, “We have supported [the] capacity-building process and are disappointed that some in Kyiv appear to have cast aside these [democratic] principles to avoid the ire of President Trump,” before demanding Lutsenko “reverse course and halt any efforts to impede cooperation with this important investigation.”

So, it’s okay for Democratic senators to encourage Ukraine to investigate Trump, but it’s not okay for the president to allegedly encourage Ukraine to investigate Hunter Biden?

    • Amazona September 25, 2019 / 1:44 pm

How about Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) threatening the president of Ukraine?

Murphy reportedly told Zelensky that U.S. aid was Ukraine’s “most important asset” and if he were to comply with Trump’s request, it would be “disastrous for long-term U.S.-Ukraine relations.

Solomon spoke to Murphy on Monday and he said, “I told Zelensky that he should not insert himself or his government into American politics. I cautioned him that complying with the demands of the President’s campaign representatives to investigate a political rival of the President would gravely damage the U.S.-Ukraine relationship.”

I think it is increasingly clear that the Left is panicking over what might be revealed if this investigation moves forward.

In the meantime there are a couple of side notes. One is the effort to convince us/anyone that Trump was worried about Biden as an opponent. As IF!

And one is the conspiracy theory being floated that the Dems started to make a big deal out of this knowing it would snap back on Biden and get him out of the way for a Kammy Harris nomination. Remember, this all took place back when she looked like she might have a chance. If that is true, it is really funny to see it snapping back on Hillary, the DNC and every drooling Lib who bleated about the horrors, treason and general awfulness of anyone working with a foreign nation to gain an advantage in an election.

      • Amazona September 25, 2019 / 2:03 pm

We should also note that the threat by Murphy; I cautioned him that complying with the demands of the President’s campaign representatives to investigate a political rival of the President would gravely damage the U.S.-Ukraine relationship.” essentially states that an investigation into the Biden-related corruption would only be to “investigate a political rival” (is Hunter Biden in the race?) and not to investigate internal corruption in Ukraine that happens to include the son of a political rival.

It’s like there is something about being a Dem that makes it impossible to make a simple declarative sentence without lying.

This is hilarious. This is NBC’s attempt to cover for Biden and according to them, Ukraine officials have told them that there is no evidence of corruption on behalf of the Biden’s and that’s all we need to know. Case closed

The then-Ukrainian prosecutor general told the news agency he found no evidence of wrongdoing by Biden and his son. And PolitiFact reported it found no evidence to “support the idea that Joe Biden advocated with his son’s interests in mind.”

Additionally, the most recent former prosecutor general of Ukraine, Yuriy Lutsenko, told Bloomberg he had no evidence of wrongdoing by either Biden.

The “former” Ukranian officials have vindicated Joe Biden and that’s all we really need to know. Unbelievable, but these are people who won’t take Bob Mueller’s word, yet have no problem accepting the word of corrupt Ukranian officials.

  14. Cluster September 25, 2019 / 6:53 pm

I think the most frustrating thing with Democrats is that they just construct their own alternative reality and then expect everyone to believe it as they do. Nancy Pelosi said “President Trump has asked a foreign leader to help him in his 2020 campaign” Ummmm, no he didn’t and it’s not even arguable but they believe it.

  15. JeremiahTMM September 25, 2019 / 7:32 pm

It was Joe Biden who told Ukraine that they wouldn’t get $1 billion in aid if they didn’t fire the prosecutor. It wasn’t President Trump, but the Democrats are trying to use Bidens words to make it look as if the President said them.

Sounds about like the Democrats doesn’t it?

    • Amazona September 25, 2019 / 8:04 pm

We have to look carefully at exactly what Pelosi SAID. She is good at hinting at things she isn’t actually saying, a trait cultivated by liars and people who smear other people for a living.

She said: “This week the president has admitted to asking the president of Ukraine to take actions which would benefit him politically,”

Examine that carefully. I can assure you, her lawyers did.

This week the president has admitted to asking the president of Ukraine to take actions … True

…which would benefit him politically…and THAT is the key. Literally anything the president ever might ask of any foreign leader would probably help him politically if it paid off. If he were to ask Kim Jung Un to halt the NoKo nuclear program, that is something that would benefit him politically. If he were to ask the Queen of England to pose with him on the steps of Westminster Cathedral, that would help him politically. If he were to ask anything of anybody, the chances are that if it happened it would help him politically.

ANY success of the president’s is likely to help him politically.

It is a purposely vague and indeterminate statement, with built-in deniability. She did not say he asked for something specifically because it would give him a specific advantage, because she couldn’t back that up. He didn’t. The perception that an investigation, in and of itself, would give Trump a political advantage is projection, not objective. Such an investigation might show no wrongdoing by Biden, in which case it would offer no political advantage at all. In fact, if an authentic investigation by objective investigators showed no wrongdoing by Hunter Biden, it might even be used against Trump.

This comment by Pelosi is just more of that sly innuendo that she likes to employ. But the lemmings, the haters, the mouth breathers, the dedicated TDSers and the ignorant probably think it means something—just as they think “launching an INQUIRY into impeachment” means something. What does that mean, exactly?

Not a thing. It is just what it says it is—an inquiry. “Into impeachment?” What is it they still need to know about the process? What is it they still need to know about support for it? What, exactly, would an INQUIRY provide them that they don’t already know?

Nothing. It is just more melodrama, more posturing, another chance to get in front of a camera and posture as being dangerous to the president while still shooting blanks.

      • JeremiahTMM September 25, 2019 / 9:35 pm

I think the Democrats feel that the American people are “dum” and think they can drum up a narrative that the American people will believe.

The whole intent of this charade as it has been for years and years is simply salivating over the idea that they will have a dictatship, and they will be able to create this Utopia in the world where anyone disagrees with them will be exterminated. They will strip you of all your dignity and worth.

That is their utopian dream. The Democrats look at pictures of the Holocaust, and they fall in love with the sight of those mounds of corpses piled high.

There is an effort, it’s worldwide, to unite against America. That’s why they brought in Greta Thunberg(sp?) to tout her alarmist rhetoric. I felt so sorry for her because she’s been so utterly brainwashed. And you know you can’t console someone like that, because she had murder in her eyes. I could see it.

But that’s how it is. When they won’t listen, they have to feel. Because when they support these globalist elitists agendas they don’t realize that they are handing their life over to them to do with them as they please. Just like Hitler did, he used scare tactics and promises, so they went along to their own early graves.

You know I don’t see how people can look at history and not learn from it, to go on and repeat the mistakes of their predecessors, how they can follow along blindly and walk right down into their grave. It’s like your enemy wants to fight you but you’re not allowed to have a weapon. So walk out into the street to face your enemy, and they have their sidearm and you walk up to them, they shoot and down you go. It’s so so so bizarre.

But you see that’s what happens when children are raised in an educational system that teaches them that climate change is man-made, that there was no Holocaust, that it’s okay to lie and manipulate to get your way, that perversion is okay, that abortion is okay. And the list goes on.

We face a an enemy in the Democrats that is very sinister, and evil to the core. And if we don’t do something about them we are going to be in very serious danger. Much like those who suffered in the middle of the 20th century.

Newt Gingrich has a news letter I read regularly, also a podcast that covers a lot of interesting topics and guests. This week’s newsletter has a pretty detailed account of Joe and Hunter Biden’s corruption with foreign governments.

It’ll be interesting to see if we ever get the entire truth about the Biden family. I’ve seen speculation that the whistle blower is actually a former Obama aide, and that the main purpose of this is to get Biden out of the race, and any damage to Trump, while not undesired, is secondary. People in high places who engage in less than ethical behavior seem to have a knack for covering it up and covering up for each other. I’m not holding my breath that any serious punishment will ever be meted out, especially to Democrats.

    • Cluster September 26, 2019 / 9:04 am

MSNBC is in full throated hysteria this morning pouring over the whistle blower complaint. According to Joey Scarborough this is worse than holding back arms to Britain to fight the Germans in WWII unless they provided dirt on a political opponent. They all have their smart glasses on and are reading the whistle blower complaint which is obviously written by a Trump detractor or former Obama official and all of them are convinced Trump should be prosecuted. It really is a sight to behold. I have never seen anything quite like it … you would think they would have just a little self awareness about the last time they rushed to indict Trump. If only Trump would release the transcript of the call this might shed light on the issue … oh wait.

I am wondering though if Trump is getting close to exposing not only Biden’s grifting, but Obama’s involvement in Ukraine’s meddling. CrowdStrike is the firm the DNC hired to investigate their servers to determine the scope of Russia hacking because the DNC refused to turn it over to the FBI and reportedly that server is in Ukraine. That server may have a lot of stuff on it that the Democrats and the media do not want to get out … and yes I am thinking some of the media members were part of the effort to entrap Trump on Russia collusion. I think this attempted coup runs deep and Trump struck a nerve.

  17. Cluster September 26, 2019 / 9:16 am

    And here’s the complaint

    Click to access 20190812_-_whistleblower_complaint_unclass.pdf

On page 2 you will find the crux of the matter and that Trump asked Ukraine to continue the investigation into Hunter Biden’s role with the energy company, assist in uncovering Russia involvement in 2016 election and LOCATE AND TURNOVER THE CROWDSTRIKE/DNC SERVER, and speak with Barr and Guiliani.

Locating the server is what has the Dems scared to death. Trump appears to be trying to get to the bottom of foreign interference in our elections and that is something the Dems had told us that they wanted to …. at least until their involvement has a chance of being exposed.

    And then there is this:

“The Dependent of Justice warned the whistleblower’s information was ‘secondhand’ and that there are indications, quote, ‘of an arguable political bias on the part of the complainant,’”

There have been a lot of allegations made by Dem talking heads in the last day that the transcript of the call that Trump released yesterday is only a “memorandum” and not an official transcript. At least one I’ve heard alleged that it was compiled from someone’s memory after the fact. But even the whistleblower describes the transcript as “the official word-for-word transcript of the call that was produced — as is customary — by the White House Situation Room.”

As someone once said, it just gets interestinger and interestinger. Any bets as to how long it takes before someone leaks the name of the whistleblower?

Schiff and his cadre of Democrats on the committee are failing badly. It’s embarrassing but they press forward

Glenn Beck fills in a few more blanks.

At the risk of being labeled a fanboi, I honestly see nothing wrong with the phone call Trump had with the Ukraine President. I think locating the server is important to determine the extent of Russia meddling, and I think it’s important to find out why the prosecutor was fired and the investigation of Burisma, who was employing the VP’s son, was called off.

I’m with you on this one, Cluster. I read the transcript and saw nothing but a normal conversation between two heads of state about mutual respect and a mutual desire to uncover corruption and wrong doing. Now that the transcript is out, I can finally see why the Left has its minions, trolls and bots working overtime to try to shift the attention/manufactured outrage away from Crowdstrike and on the truly insane screech that TRUMP TRIED TO PUSH UKRAINE TO INVESTIGATE HIS POLITICAL OPPONENT !!!

AS IF Hunter Biden is his political opponent.
AS IF Joe Biden would be such a threat to Trump that he’d have to do something like this
AS IF Trump so stupid he would do it on a phone call that is permanently archived and overheard by many

No, no Dem cares enough about Biden, either one of the Bidens, to account for the levels of hysteria and attempted deflection this has generated. It’s about Hillary and the DNC, and it’s about the two-faced tactic (the word “hypcritical” is getting worn out, it is applied so often to the Dems) of trying to mount a coup and topple a duly elected president by accusing him of doing exactly what they did. That is the real threat that has the Dems acting like a wasp nest that just got a shot of insecticide.

Once Trump mentioned Crowdstrike, it was war, with the minions of the Left lining up to get their marching orders.

That’s exactly right … Dems are frantic to keep Crowdstrike and their server under wraps. And let’s not forget the Pakistani used car salesman family, the Awan’s, who were running the DNC network. This could get deep and very troubling for them

Schiff just questioned the DNI’s credibility …. because he is not getting what he wants. Disgraceful

An interesting little tidbit from the middle of page one of the whistleblower’s complaint:

“In addition, a variety of information consistent with these private accounts has been reported publicly.”

Now where have we seen this tactic used before? The use of news accounts to back up the Steele dossier in the application for FISA warrants, when, in fact, the news accounts were the result of leaks from the very entities involved in seeking the FISA warrants.

The complicit media … they know what they are doing and need to be held accountable.
