A slight modification to the US Constitution:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Nothing in this Amendment shall be construed as prohibiting the imposition of civil and criminal penalties for the publication of false information.

Just a bit of spitballin’ here – but as I said in an earlier post, we must do something to end the Reign of Lies which has warped our politics for the past 50 or maybe even 80 years. I really am all ears here – but please don’t try to tell me that we must retain the current system which allows the MSM – in service of the Democrats – to brazenly lie all the time without any possibility of punishment. I realize that it is a very dicey thing, but I can’t see the Republic surviving if lies are allowed to go unchecked.

And, in fact, I think that God – in a way – commands us to do this: we are not supposed to allow lies to fly unchecked. Something must be built into the system as a corrective to falsehood.

Our Founders built the most brilliant system of government in human history and it has stood the test of time, but the Founders, understanding that people will lie for political advantage, never imagined a time when 95%+ of the news media in our country would (a) be liars and (b) be liars in the service of only one political party.

And speaking of lies – the Democrats and their MSM lapdogs really are circling the wagons for Biden, aren’t they? What amuses me most is that there are still some so-called “Conservative” voices out there claiming they are shocked at the double standard between Kavanaugh and Biden. To me its, oh, puhleeese! Of course the MSM and Democrats were going to treat Biden entirely differently from Kavanaugh. Everyone – including Kavanaugh’s accusers – knew the accusations against Kavanaugh were lies from the get-go; the Democrats, MSMers and Never Trumpers just pretended they thought otherwise because it was their shot to take down a Trump court nominee. But now that we have accusers of Biden – far more credible accusers – the problem is that if we go along with the accusations that would hurt a Democrat. And you know we can’t have that (and in case you were wondering why I suddenly got in the mood to amend the Constitution, this is it). Don’t look for truth, logic or any semblance of basic decency: this is about getting power…and for the Democrats anything that gets them power is good.

Some are talking that Biden can’t survive this when added to his obvious mental decline – I say: watch them. As long as Biden can stand up with his eyes open for five minutes, the DNC and MSM will prop him up as the second coming of Pericles. They have to – to ditch Joe means getting someone else, and if that someone else isn’t Bernie then the Democrats will be faced with open revolt. The only hope the Democrats have here is that after Biden picks his VP, he keels over. Absent that, they are going with him to the end.

The Experts are still saying that Trump is doomed – though the smarter Experts (those who can tie their own shoes) add the caveat “if the election were held today”. Of course, the election won’t be held today – but if it were, it would still be a decision between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Anything is possible in politics but I can’t see the American people, faced with crisis and economic crash, turning to a 78 year old, addle-brained political hack. Maybe they will – but until it happens, I won’t say it will happen. And, as it turns out, if you look at some of the voter registration numbers, social media activity and fundraising, it seems to me that Trump is well-positioned for a win in November.

I also wonder what real affect the Democrat governors will have on November? It is obvious that they aren’t acting for health and safety but merely to keep people miserable in the hope that this will help Biden. Its an open question as to whether or not that theory is correct…but I wonder if the actions like Oregon’s governor saying she’ll keep the shutdown until June is storing up a level of outrage against Democrats? No way to know – but I do know that some people are rather irked by it all. At the end of the day, we’re not going to have a cure for this thing, ever (even a vaccine won’t be 100% against it). Most of us will catch it at some point. Isn’t it time for we adult citizens of the Republic to just start assessing the risks for ourselves? I think so. And I wonder how people will long-term react to a Democrat governor saying you can’t go to the park?

Nothing in this Amendment shall be construed as prohibiting the imposition of civil and criminal penalties for the [deliberate] publication of false information.

    Fixed.

While we’re messing with the Constitution, I’d like to propose a change to the 2nd Amendment that would remove all doubt about its intent.

An armed citizenry being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Trump is well-positioned for a win in November.

The only problem I see is that he’s going to have to win by a large margin, say 20%, in order to overcome the massive level of cheating and fraud that the Dems are going to engage in.

The GOP has turned the process of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory into an art form. The law of averages dictates that it’s the Democrats’ turn for a self-inflicted wound. A Biden candidacy certainly gives them the ammunition.

Mark your desire to end the “age of lies in politics” begins and ends with the media. And as I type this I am watching Joe Scarborough and gang report lie after lie with no pushback or challenge to their narrative. Zero. And they do this 24/7. On top of that, we have a populace that no longer reads or examines any issue in depth and simply rely on sound bites, headlines and notifications on their cell phones. The propaganda powers to be understand this and use it to their advantage. On other words, our media, aided and abetted by the DNC have perfected Goebbel’s propaganda machine.

Here’s the challenge, NONE of these media propagandists have been held to account for their previous lies and disinformation for Russia collusion, Ukraine, or the Brett Kavanaugh debacle. And remember the Russia collusion story went on for 3 years even though we recently learned that there was undeniable proof that there was no collusion from the beginning yet the DNC’s favorite FBI man carried the ball for them for three more years.

If we want to end the lies and propaganda, getting rid of everyone who was involved in the Russia disinformation campaign both in the media and in government would be a good place to start.

Also, let’s not kid ourselves … if you listen carefully eventually Democrats will always tell you what their primary motives are:

…. MSNBC provided a platform for liberal constitutional attorney Laurence Tribe to bash the conservative judges that President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are putting on the courts, and to fear monger about how they might effect the country’s future, calling it a “terrifying” and a “really scary prospect for anyone who cares about the future of this country.”

Because of his sheer incompetence, Obama left nearly 180 vacancies on the courts which Trump and McConnell are actively filling and this has Democrats apoplectic because as we all know, Democrats need the courts more than they need voters to enact their agenda.

In the article, note the sensationalized words Tribe uses to describe the judges which are designed to trigger the sound bite voter …. and that again brings us full circle to the troubles we have with lies in the media.

I also wonder what real affect the Democrat governors will have on November?

If the Michigan Governor’s new nickname, (Gwretched Witless) is any indication, Democrat governors’ reaction to this could be the self-inflicted wound I mentioned in an earlier comment. Their actions certainly aren’t going to win over any republicans or Independents. It only remains to be seen how many of their own party they lose.

And I think they are losing a lot. The Governor of Maine is possibly the worst of the bunch but none of them are reacting rationally and erring towards the constitution. In fact all of them are erring towards tyranny and that fact is being noticed by all

If we had gotten to this point over 20 years very few would have noticed. The fact that it happened virtually overnight woke a lot of people up. This lock down may be a blessing in disguise in terms of making people aware of just what government tyranny looks like up close and personal.

You guys are right, but the truth is so depressing. My county, waiting till large parts of the country started to open up, decided to play catch-up and require masks EVERYWHERE. Home Depot yesterday was surreal——a long maze-like entry at only one door, a grim Nazi-like door guard with hand sanitizer, signs everywhere, paranoia so thick in the air it was choking. An employee coming into the main aisle from a side passage got within about 10 feet of my (empty) cart and her eyes bugged out and she nearly did a back flip getting farther way. I was tempted to run after her, waving my fingers and yelling “oogie boogie”.

I just left my cart where it stood and left. When I got home I checked and found that neighboring counties haven’t yet hit Tyranny Mode so my large purchase (new well pressure tank and all fittings plus other stuff, probably totaling about $1000) will be spent in another county—or Wyoming, if other Colorado counties decide to jump on Virtue Signaling mode.

Anyway, as the virus situation itself gets better and the Left reacts by doubling down on the panic-peddling and hysteria, proving Newton’s Third Law ( For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction) here is something that might make you smile.

BTW, this leads into others by the same family and I though they were funny. I’m so culturally illiterate when it comes to music in the past couple of decades I don’t even know what songs they are spoofing, but it’s still fun.

We’re seeing some really creative masks around us. For some people it appears to be a fashion statement more than anything. I went to Walmart and Tractor Supply Sunday afternoon. Virtually everyone at Walmart except me was wearing a mask, while at Tractor Supply no one was. One lady at Walmart gave me a dirty look, and I said, WHAT?” She pointed to her mask but didn’t speak, just gave me this “why aren’t YOU wearing a mask” look. I said, you do know the experts say that masks are essentially worthless, especially the home-made ones. She reached up and adjusted her mask, and I said, “in fact you’re more likely to get sick wearing a mask than not because you touch your face more. She jerked her hand away, and I turned around and walked away.

At Tractor Supply the guy in front of me in line commented on the fact that people who work outside (farmers, landscapers, gardeners, etc.) don’t wear masks and shop at Tractor Supply. We both laughed.

I know. Mask wearing is the new shortcut to the Higher Moral Ground. But, as you point out, people who wear masks have no clue about contamination or cross contamination. On a local site a woman got quite upset when I cited the Worldometer statistics on floor contamination—larger viral droplets fall to floors and other surfaces where they accumulate and build up large viral loads, while smaller airborne droplets are much less concentrated. When you look at the studies from Israel, Korea and China indicating that the severity of the disease is affected by the amount of virus you acquire, it makes a lot more sense to expose yourself to the diluted smaller virus droplets in the air than the concentrated amounts on floors and surfaces. But this is not compatible with the Mask Doctrine, so is ignored or even strongly rejected.

One woman’s oncologist told her that unless people wash their clothes every time they go outside they are just bringing the virus into their houses. Well, DUH! If you are concerned about the virus floating around in the air (the reason to wear a mask) then you have to agree it is settling on your hair, your clothes and your forehead, while your shoes are picking up massive viral loads from the accumulation on the floors. So you walk out of the store, feeling all virtuous because you have been wearing your mask and gloves, and use your contaminated gloves to open the car door and pull off your mask, which you probably toss onto the passenger seat. Then you get in the car, spreading the virus onto the seat, steering wheel and especially the floor. When you get home you might be careful about wiping down your groceries and then your kitchen counters, but probably do this while wearing the same clothes you wore to the store. So you walk around the house, dropping virus wherever you go, and it concentrates as you make more trips or more people come into the house. And you and your family stew in this concentrated virus environment.

If you do remove your clothes, it is highly doubtful that you follow contamination rules, and make sure to avoid letting them near your face, keep them folded so the outside is to the inside, carry them to the washing machine in a way that guarantees no exposed surface touches anything, use hot water at the very least and hopefully some kind of disinfectant, and wash your hands, arms, and surfaces in the laundry room while being aware that the act of taking the clothes to the washer probably contaminated what you are wearing. Then you need to take a shower and wash your hair.

        EVERY TIME YOU GO ANYWHERE

I’m not against mask wearing, or wouldn’t be if it were done properly. A serious, trained, disciplined approach to controlling contamination would be productive. But the symbolic mask wearing, accompanied by the attitude of those who wear them, is getting old, while it does little to actually halt the spread of the virus.

A lot of motorcycles were out this weekend, and it was so funny to see people riding motorcycles on the highway, wearing masks. I guess the word is out that the virus can travel 70 MPH.

I tried wearing my mask at Home Depot, but I hadn’t washed it since I used it when we were moving the days-old decomposing body of a horse killed by a mountain lion. We all put on our masks and sprayed them with Febreeze, and got’er done, though it was pretty awful. And we STUNK afterwards.

As another proof that God Is Good, my pressure tank didn’t give out till we had all showered. Many prayers of thanks were offered.

But while my mask didn’t smell of dead horse, it did still have a lot of Febreeze in it, and that combined with my irritation gave me a headache, so I just left Home Depot.

Masks actually do more harm than good ….. no one is ever suppose to inhale their own carbon dioxide exhale and people do when wearing masks …..

    Today in the NYT:

In New York City, the daily onslaught of death from the coronavirus has dropped to half of what it was. In Chicago, a makeshift hospital in a lakefront convention center is closing, deemed no longer needed. And in New Orleans, new cases have dwindled to a handful each day.

Yet across America, those signs of progress obscure a darker reality

The country is still in the firm grip of a pandemic with little hope of release. For every indication of improvement in controlling the virus, new outbreaks have emerged elsewhere, leaving the nation stuck in a steady, unrelenting march of deaths and infections.

The media WANTS and needs this pandemic to continue in order to distract people from the unraveling Russia collusion story they tried to sell for three years. I pray there is a reckoning.

Leftist definition of “whiney baby” = someone who states the obvious.

So, leftfielding, are you denying that the entire Democrat House was more focused on impeaching Trump than on following a possible threat to the people of the United States? Do you have any indication that any of them—ANY OF THEM—was paying the slightest attention to the warnings of an impending pandemic?

What about in January when the first cases were being reported? Do you have any evidence —-ANY AT ALL—- that any Democrat in Congress, House or Senate, was paying any attention to anything but the Left’s wet dream of getting rid of Trump?

And what, exactly, do you think Trump should have done prior to February 2020, regarding the corona virus? Specifically. Micromanage the CDC?

The president inherited a whole bevy of bloated, inefficient, poorly run and often incompetent federal agencies, along with a rabid Leftist House of Representatives, a Congress in general dedicated to being nothing but a speed bump, a truly bizarre attack based on lies from the Left claiming “collusion with Russia” and then an impeachment effort based on claims that, even if true, would not have been impeachable offenses to any sane person. Oh, and a blatantly hostile and dishonest press that never hesitated to attack, lie and smear.

And in the midst of all this Leftist hysteria, in the midst of all this screeching and squealing and threatening and lying and lying and more lying, the name calling and the absolutely crazed hatred and 24/7 mob attacks, he still managed to steer the nation into a record-breaking economy, get a record number of (finally) qualified judges appointed, slash the size and scope of several bloated and redundant federal agencies and their budgets, establish good relations with foreign nations, and accomplish a truly astounding list of important achievements.

True, he did not personally visit federal warehouses to count masks and determine if Obama had replaced those used in his regime. True, he did not look over the shoulders of the allegedly competent medical “experts” in agencies like the CDC. True. he did not come out and call the Commie rat head of the WHO a Commie rat under the thumb of China. True, he did not visit Wuhan and personally tour the labs and wet markets to make a personal determination of what was going on there. True, he did not create an international incident by calling the president of China a liar. There is a lot he didn’t do. Evidently leftfielders like you condemn him for not doing these things.

But he did try to avoid panicking the nation by being reassuring when fear started to mount. He did take the courageous act of shutting down a lot of traffic from China, and then from parts of Europe, while being savagely attacked for doing so. He did assemble a task force to address the virus when it became apparent that the CDC was impotent. Honest and decent people—-that is, people not on the Left—-agree that his actions saved thousands of lives.

The pathological need of the leftfielders to find something—anything—to say about Trump that you think will reflect badly on him is truly pathetic. You project a smarmy smugness as if you are accomplishing something important by sneering, snarling and sniping, but in fact it’s just creepy. You and people like you come across with a distinct Pajama Boy leftfielding/Schiffhole/Waddler/Schumer whiny simper vibe that you guys seem to think is pretty cool, but it’s really just icky.

leftfielder, here is a partial list of what Trump accomplished, while the Dems in Congress and the rest of the howling Left dedicated themselves to mounting a coup to unseat him: It’s not complete, or fully up to date. If so, it would be much longer.

        • Appointed Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and more than 75 other constitutionally sound federal judges, 30 of which are serving.

        • Reinstated an expanded Mexico City Policy blocking foreign aid from being used for abortions.

        • Cracked down on illegal immigration and “sanctuary cities.” As Attorney General Jeff Sessions put it: “The lawlessness, the abdication of the duty to enforce our laws, and the catch and release policies of the past are over.”

        • Issued an order killing two federal regulations for every new one. In actuality, 16 were cut for every new one in his first year, saving billions.

        • Engineered a historic tax cut that will save money for more than 80 percent of American households.

        • Withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement, ending the threat of U.S. governance by international bureaucrats.

        • Reversed onerous Obama environmental rules that gave the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ham-handed authority to destroy the coal industry and abrogate landowners’ rights.

        • Kick-started America’s energy sector by curtailing regulations, facilitating the Keystone XL Pipeline and opening up vast federal areas to oil and gas exploration.

        • Presided over an economic and stock market boom, lowered unemployment and brought manufacturing jobs back to America from overseas.

        • Rebuilt the nation’s military, destroyed ISIS and faced down North Korea’s “Rocket Man.”

        • Issued an order enforcing First Amendment protections for religious liberty.

        • Restored the freedom of military chaplains to espouse biblical morality, and essentially reversing Mr. Obama’s transgender military policy.

        • Revoked the Education Department’s order that public schools allow gender-confused males access to girls’ restrooms and locker rooms.

        • Cracked down on sex trafficking. President Trump signed a law allowing states to move against sex-ad Internet sites, and the Justice Department on April 6 seized and shut down Backpage.com, which carried ads for prostitution, including trafficked children.

        • Overhauled the mismanaged Veterans Administration and giving veterans more health care choices.

        • Replaced Obamacare incrementally, beginning with a repeal of the individual mandate.

        • Imposed sanctions on Venezuela’s socialist dictatorship and revising Mr. Obama’s deals with communist Cuba.

        • Recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and repairing damage that Mr. Obama did to the U.S.-Israel relationship.

        • Worked with Central American nations to crack down on MS-13 gangs.

Again, this is a partial list. One thing that I, and many other conservatives, have noticed and commented on is the Left’s total silence regarding Trump’s efforts to rein in and punish sex trafficking, including the trafficking of children. One might think this is an issue that would matter to everyone, regardless of political affiliation, but one would be wrong. The Dems are evidently indifferent to this kind of civil rights atrocity, as they never raise a voice to condemn it or give credit to Trump for fighting it. On the contrary, the Left openly supported the ability of people to traffic children if the children were used in illegal border-crossing scams, openly attacking the president and the Border Patrol for their efforts to make sure than every child reaching the border was accompanying a legal parent or guardian, instead doing everything in their power to enable child traffickers to use children as pawns in illegal border crossing even knowing that many would be abandoned on the US side of the border to become street children or be picked up by sex traffickers. Of so very many heinous positions taken by the Left, this callous indifference to sex trafficking and the use of children in this way is one of the most disgusting. Fortunately we have a president with a moral compass, who has tried to end these vicious practices, even as the Left attacks him for his efforts.

Here’s a better list. To it I would add being proved right about the dangers of the US being so dependent on China, and being able to move the country in the direction of returning more manufacturing to the United States, particularly that of pharmaceuticals. Another murder suicide in Phoenix yesterday. Thank God we are wearing masks and closing our businesses to stay safe from a virus that Fieldingclaymore is hiding under his bed from.

One thing good to come from this manufactured virus is that we now know how useless a lot of people are and I think fieldingclaymore might top that list of useless people.

Have any of you been watching MSNBC or CNN at all lately? Granted you don’t want to watch either of them shortly after eating but tune in for little bit one day and behold the coverage. It’s like day 1 of this pandemic – death, doom, gloom, no end in sight type reporting to the point it’s very suspect. Why are they so vested in this destruction continuing?? That’s a rhetorical question.

And this just in for your daily chuckle, or bewilderment. Nicole Wallace, the dumbest woman on tv, wondered how the virus will effect Putin politically leading one to conclude that Nicole thinks Putin must answer to his people. She’s a special kind of stupid and once was a GOP consultant hahahahaha which should be all the evidence you need when you wonder sometimes how we got here.

      Nope—didn’t work. Ideas?

        Wait for the movie?

They’ve even managed to remove the video from the film production company’s website. Ya think it ruffled a few feathers?
