Tucker Carlson pointed out that, for instance, a pregnant soldier is not combat-ready and the entire military Establishment dropped on him like a ton of bricks – demonstrating that the senior officers and enlisted of the United States Armed Forces are heavily politicized and they are on the side of the Left. This is just terrible – but not surprising.
There was no chance the Left was going to leave the military alone – and we’ve seen over the years as the military has lowered standards and spent time on woke training rather than combat readiness that the Left has deeply infected the military. As far as it goes, it is lost to us. I’m confident that most of the lower ranks are with us, but they are largely commanded by people who have made the conscious choice that pleasing the Establishment is the way to go for promotions. Over the years, this has merely meant that we’ve had a gigantic negative-feedback loop where those officers who are the worst – ie, most willing to bow to whatever is fashionable on the Left – have risen the highest.
First off, it means we can’t win a war. Anyone who wants to fight us now can do so with certainty that our military leadership lacks any ability to fight for victory. They don’t know how – they don’t even know what it is. They didn’t rise because of their expertise in military affairs but because they knew how to say the right things. Secondly, it means that if we get power back, we have to purge the military brass. A lot. They can’t be trusted. Also, and this is something I’ve said before: we should reduce the size of the Army. Make it 100,000 troops and then revive the State militias. No more large bodies of troops for forever wars and, also, no body of troops large enough to control the United States.
Related: they’re gonna dump gender neutral fitness tests. Because the only way to have women in combat units is to lower physical standards.
Meanwhile, Democrats continue to push HR1, which would totally destroy the American political system. We’ll see if the GOP has the guts to really fight it.
Cuomo continues to be hammered – not on his killing of people, but on his sexual harassment. Make no mistake about it: he won’t be forced out and he’ll likely be re-elected next year. All of this is just keeping him out of the 2024 contest which is being gift wrapped for Kamala.
First off, it means we can’t win a war.
I think the mindset is that we’re never going to have another major ground war, that, in fact, future wars will be fought with computers and drones. The silver lining to that is that they also won’t be able to control the population, and they won’t represent much opposition to tens of millions of hunters, target shooters, and former military warriors who got out because of the direction the military is going should we get an administration that thinks the Posse Comitatus Act is a rule they don’t have to obey. You get a pretty good idea of how it will play out if you’ve read Schlichter’s 4 novels on the split up of America.
I’d add that special forces will probably play an ever increasing role in the military. a VERY tiny percentage of women might complete Ranger training; I doubt there will be a female SEAL, Force Marine Recon or Delta Force any time soon. If they attempt to lower the standards for those elite of the elite to accommodate women, most of the men will quit — IMHO.
I’m a woman some might call strong-minded, who has rejected many stereotypes of what women “should” be able to do. I have trained horses, driven trucks and become pretty competent on several kinds of construction equipment, and so on. I have done many things once considered outside the realm of “women’s work”.
Yet if I am in a burning building and look out an upper story window to a firefighter climbing a ladder to rescue me I do NOT want to be looking at a 115-pound woman. A woman can be a skilled shooter—I have no problem at all finding the character of Kenzi on NCIS Los Angeles believable as a sniper or crack shot—or a competent jet fighter pilot, but given the physical demands of Tier One special operatives I simply do not think a woman could meet the same standards of strength and endurance that are expected of men.
I am sick and tired of the expectations and demands of so-called “Social Justice” advocates resulting the dilution of important standards of performance, just to make some people feel good. The opposite of a “science denier” I believe in the science of biology, and think that putting men and women together in tents or barracks is an effort to deny the science of sexual attraction and/or conflict and the various problems those issues can create, all of which could diminish the ability of these warriors to be as effective as they need to be.
You are one of the strongest women I’ve ever known, not necessarily in terms of brute strength, but in terms of character, initiative and perseverance — capable of doing many tasks normally done by men. I’d trust you with my back in a critical situation, but I’m pretty sure you’d agree that, in your prime, you wouldn’t have qualified to be a SEAL.
Kind words, my friend, and I thank you. And you are right—at no time in my life would I have been able to qualify as a SEAL.
I’d also like to point out that while I have enjoyed learning to do many things once considered “manly” at no time did I ever want to BE a man, or think I was a man. I just never accepted the theory that tradition had to define my life, and I have always liked learning new skills.
I wonder about this when I read about a woman who thinks she is a man—-does she really think she is a male in a female body, or is she a female who wants to do what men do and thinks that means she is a man? I know a lot of women easily more competent in a wider range of skills than I am, who are very feminine and have never wanted to be a man, just wanted to learn how to operate that backhoe or drive that truck.
Dito for going in the other direction—does a man truly believe he IS a woman in a male body, or does he just reject the roles expected of men and yearn for what he thinks represents womanhood? Possibly gentleness, being protected by men, having fewer responsibilities, enjoying the feeling of being pretty and wearing makeup and girly clothes.
I guess I’m back up on my soapbox again, yammering on about Identity Politics, but in his case about how people identify gender, using superficial metrics—does a gender dysphoric female truly believe she IS a man or does she accept what she has decided defines a man as how she wants to be defined?
I think Bruce Jenner is a good example of this kind of confusion. He decided he was really a woman trapped in the body of a man—yet there is no history of him being attracted to men, which would seem to be a characteristic of a woman. So he declared himself to be a woman, flaunting the ability to dress in pretty clothes and wear makeup and basically reinvent himself as a different person who got to do things he couldn’t do as a man—and get lots of attention for it. But even as a woman, he is not attracted to men but only to women, while steadfastly denying being gay. This tells me he gets some kind of emotional and possibly even sexual gratification by experiencing the trappings of being a woman, without experiencing the true nature of womanhood, which is being attracted to men or being a lesbian. I just don’t think he truly BELIEVES he is a woman—he just wants to be, up to a point. Up to where he can date women without being gay. You can’t be a woman attracted only to women without being homosexual. But you can be a man who likes dressing up as a woman and still be attracted to women.
I’m lucky in that I was born into a farming family and community where women were very very feminine but were feminine while driving tractors, working with livestock, etc. There was no dichotomy. So when I realized I like learning how to do things that are traditionally usually done by males I didn’t have to pretend to be a boy to do them. Maybe if I grew up in a city or a society with rigid gender roles I wouldn’t have felt that freedom and might have felt I had to BE a boy to do what the boys did.
I work with a drop-dead gorgeous 17-year-old girl whose parents treat her and her younger brothers exactly the same way. So she has felt the freedom to pursue whatever interests her. The first time they closed schools for Covid she got bored so she started rebuilding lawn mowers. She went through my rather extensive collection of chain saws (don’t fix it, buy a new one said husband) and tore them down, cleaned them up and sharpened the chains so I can sell them. When she saw an old pickup advertised she and I went to look at it, she got it for $500 and we loaded it onto a trailer and took it to her house, where she has been rebuilding it. She wants to learn how to work on diesel engines and is determined to buy one of my Power Stroke pickups. She is also learning to cook and looks forward to having children. She cracks me up. A boy came to visit her and when he drove up she said “What’s wrong with your car? It sounds like a fan belt. Pop the hood.” And she sent him to Napa to buy a new belt and he stood there and watched her put it on. Her dad told me this boy was obviously smitten, but maybe a little scared, too. She puts me to shame, with skill sets I can only dream of ever achieving. And I can guarantee she will never feel that she has to be a man to live her life the way she wants to live it.
When you come visit this summer I’ll introduce you to her and another friend who is beautiful and girly while running barrels, big game hunting and driving the tractor I sold her.
It’s just Western Women, dude.
at no time in my life would I have been able to qualify as a SEAL.
For what it’s worth, neither would I.
When you come visit this summer I’ll introduce you to her and another friend who is beautiful and girly
They sound a little young for me, heh.
I hope we’re going to be able to come out this summer. I won’t be surprised, though, if there are check points along all major routes, manned by storm troopers asking for our “papers.” If we manage to make it there, we might just have to stay.
BTW, I heard you got a little snow.
Yeah, a dusting. Six to eight inches but it’s the drifting that makes it fun. It is wet and heavy so hard to move, broke a winch strap so my snowplow was out of commission fairly early on (the winch raises and lowers the plow blade) so I just stayed inside and let my neighbors finish opening up my driveway.
We’ll have to plan a surreptitious route for you to take, back roads and so on, maybe a little cross-country travel through fields and pastures. Sounds like fun.
”Possibly gentleness, being protected by men, having fewer responsibilities,…”
I don’t think gender dictates level of responsibility but rather a chosen profession. For example, motherhood (if taken seriously) has far more responsibilities than say truck driving. Even though some professions are not generally suited well for females, those professions are not necessarily indicative of higher levels of responsibility than other professions where females tend to dominate, like nursing.
I agree completely. But we have to remember, dysphoria of any kind is by definition marked by disorganized thinking. I am talking about assumptions and projections, not about real life.
I read a story about a little boy who said he was a girl, and started acting like he thought girls would act. But his parents didn’t let him be chemically castrated and got him into counseling and learned that because his little sister, who had a serious congenital disease, was getting a lot of attention he thought that girls got more love and attention so he would just be a girl. All they had to do was pay more attention to how evenly they treated both children.
I think most if not all adult gender dysphoria is based to some degree on some similar concept of what it would be like to be the other. It’s a more psychologically disordered version of the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, with some Magical Thinking thrown in—“I am not happy with who I am now but if I can change who I am then I will be happy”—more than a serious conviction of actually BEING that other person.
I once met a man who was engaged to a beautiful woman and who belonged to a group of men who also liked to engage in cross-dressing sometimes. He was very masculine, owned a contracting company, but he said sometimes he just wanted to feel pretty. I thought he had figured out a good way to deal with his quirks. The wives and girlfriends of the cross dressing men were part of it and they all had fun and no one got hurt. But he was clear when we talked about it that he didn’t want to BE a woman, didn’t think he WAS a woman, was quite happy being a man, but at the same time thought it wasn’t quite fair that only women got to dress up and wear makeup and assume glamorous personas when they wanted to. As someone who could go from Carharts and work boots to high heels and perfume I could kind of see his point—I could move smoothly among different worlds, whereas men couldn’t.
Remembering the man I met who indulged in cross-dressing reminded me of a joke:
In the locker room at the gym Dave did a double take and then said “Bob, since when do you wear lacy panties?” Bob replied “Ever since my wife found them in my glovebox.”
with some Magical Thinking thrown in—“I am not happy with who I am now but if I can change who I am then I will be happy”
The problem with that is, many of them are NOT happy. In fact they are so UN-happy that over 40% of people with gender dysphoria attempt to commit suicide at least once in their life. They not very good at killing themselves, though, but their suicide rate is still something like 20 times the general population.
That’s the sad part, Spook though not nearly as sad as children who have been maimed by adults practicing their Political Correctness on them.
On a less dramatic level, we see this Magical Thinking at work all the time. We’ve all known someone who is miserable who thinks “All I need to be happy is….” A BMW, a new house, a new spouse, tickets to the Super Bowl, etc. And most of us have learned that happiness comes from within, that it is not dependent on anything outside of ourselves but on how we see the world and ourselves and our place in it.
Even without the slightest understanding of gender dysphoria, even without even having heard of “transgenderism” most of us could listen to someone say “All I need to be happy is to be someone my body says I am not so I am going to maim this body to try to make it look like a different gender and I am going to act as if that actually changed who I really am” and immediately know “that isn’t going to end well”.
We see proof in the escalation of what it will “really take” to make one of these people happy. It starts with identity: Marvin declares he is now Millie, shaves his legs, takes estrogen and gets breast implants and even finds a place where he can buy size 13 heels. You might think that once Marvin is living as a woman this would lead to happiness. But no—now there is the need to force everyone to accept this change as a legitimate change from one gender to another. Merely being accepted as a woman at work, passing as a woman at the grocery store and having legal papers changed to say “F” instead of “M” still don’t fill the void, still don’t convey happiness. Now there is a crusade to force everyone to admit that he is really, truly, a woman. There is the need to create and then impose a new pronoun. There is the need to pass new legislation making it a crime to use the “wrong” pronoun or commit some other “microaggression”.
It just keeps escalating, on and on and on, proving that merely taking on the aspects of the other gender not only fails to lead to happiness, it actually emphasizes the underlying problem. The sense that “This was supposed to solve my problems and make me happy and it didn’t and I am still miserable” will almost surely lead to “so I can never be happy” and despair.
That is a segment of society that is sad, in need of help and deserving of our sympathy. The segment of society that is disgusting and criminal and should be punished with great severity is the segment that encourages these destructive fantasies, enables them and contributes to the damaging delusions. The worst of these are those who impose their distorted views of gender, sex and humanity in general on children, damaging them often beyond repair. There is no place in hell deep enough or hot enough for these people, preying on the weaknesses of others and using their powers to inflict harm on others.
Doesn’t matter if we have another major “ground war” or not–it is well known in my circles that no matter how much you bomb and destroy you do not own that piece of land until some sorry Marine goes and plants a flag on it.
May sound really strange but what people need to be happy is themselves. Everything else is a bonus. First time I was isolated I almost freaked out over a week in isolation but since I have learned about myself and I can live with myself without issues. Okay, Me, Kat & the Lord but I still actually enjoy doing what used to terrify me to finish a book or cook something new, People never tend to be alone so it is a new and scary place to visit. In particular during SERT training.
The Usual Suspects (in this case Meathead himself) who are still howling that old lie about “ripping children from the arms of their parents” at the border, are thinking of the visual of little Elian Gonzales being ripped from the arms of his aunt by an armed American SWAT team member sent in by Big Jan Reno (D) who decreed that the child should be returned to Cuba after he was denied sanctuary in the United States, in spite of immigration laws covering the protection even of minors who had fled political oppression in other countries.
What they don’t want to admit is that when children arrive at our southern border in the custody of adults who are attempting to break our nation’s laws the officials, out of concern for the welfare of those children, temporarily separate them from those adults until they can confirm that the adults are really the parents of those children. This is solely to protect them from being trafficked by cartels who routinely use children to help clients get into the United States, where they have been abandoned when of no more use to live on the streets or be sold into sex slavery.
Objecting to this review of custodial legitimacy is basically the same thing as supporting child trafficking by arguing that it should not be interdicted. This is the Higher Moral Ground the Left claims to occupy. And it accurately illustrates the depravity of the radical Left, represented here by Moron Rob Reiner.
I know everyone has been eagerly awaiting the next episode of “What’s Amazona going to complain about next?”
Well, it’s here, and it’s about Saint Patrick’s Day. More to the point, about people who call it “Saint PATTY’S Day”. No no no no no. The Irish nickname for Patrick is PADDY. Patty is for Patricia, which is of course a woman’s name.
While there is probably a saint named Patricia, she is not honored by having a holiday named after her, so references to a “Saint Patty’s Day” are just plain dumb.
This is what happens when people don’t read, and depend on regurgitating what they have heard, or what they think they have heard. My complaint is less about using the wrong word and more about the tragedy of moving away from being a literate society.
the tragedy of moving away from being a literate society.
My wife and I were just talking about that. We had just seen the Delta Faucet commercial on TV in which the husband and wife command Alexa to command their Delta kitchen faucet to fill the dog’s dish, to put precisely the right amount of water in the cooking pan, etc. One generation, and people won’t be able to think for themselves, won’t be able to do something as simple as use a measuring cup in the preparation of a meal. We’re already seeing it in a couple generations who can’t write cursive and can’t do simple math in their heads. And the select few at the top see it as a population that will be much easier to control. Now if they could just figure out a way to disarm us, they’d be home free.
I’ve been saying for years that the Left is moving us toward a new aristocracy as fewer and fewer children get good educations and the knowledge/intelligence gap widens until the poorly educated become the peons and the educated elites run everything like a new aristocracy.
My perception of that has changed a little as I have seen the blatant efforts by the Left to expand the Dependent Class, so now I see the divisions as more of a triad—the aristocracy running everything and the poorly educated either relegated to menial jobs or simply wholly dependent on the government and eager to keep electing whoever will give them the most stuff.
And let’s not forget the evolution of the Surveillance Society, as that Alexa/Delta relationship has the ability to monitor every action and every conversation in that household. Using “too much water”? Have Alexa/Delta restrict water usage to comply with edicts from the Central Authority. House warmer than the Central Authority deems acceptable? (Remember Obama’s scolding about how we would all have to make sacrifices and couldn’t expect to be able to keep our houses at 72 degrees.) Override homeowner directions on how to set the thermostat.
But Spook, that is what makes me smile inside. We have had our “peaceful protests” here in NC and even if they are stupid it is still safe in the neighborhood. Once the police decided it was enough–it took nothing to stop them.
Next you have the “Overlords” that have no idea how to do the very basic things in life except dictate to others. Problem for them becomes, and it doesn’t require a Weimar Republic to see, that taking orders from on high has few if any benefits. Nancy can’t get her ice cream? What can she do to resolve that? Resolve it to the point of forcing a driver to deliver?
Eat your fame, burn your cash to stay warm–I don’t give a shit. 🙂 Everyone that is worth saving knows someone who will and I know I would reach out and help others. I have no idea what these bubbleheads think but I am sure they will not be able to survive without someone from our ranks helping them. I am not sure they even know how to find / wipe their asses-one or two hands.
I understand being disturbed about the lack of basic education. However, children learn much of their language skills using phonics and easily confuse the sound of certain letters. F and th come to mind when you hear young children count – one, two, free… Also, as a person who grew up with a hearing disability and who received lots of lip-reading instruction (which only helps if the person speaking is facing you), the sound variation and mouth formation of the words “Patty” and “Paddy” is so slight that it’s easy to understand why it happens. And Paddy is not a familiar name in the US so Patty fits with what is far more common. Still, your point is valid and covers quite a number of similar words and phrases; by – buy, cereal – serial, for – four, ate – eight, affect – effect, further – farther, complement – compliment, principle – principal, to – too – two, etc… The deterioration of speaking and spelling is further advanced by Ebonics and shorthand texting, both of which are growing fast, and school systems that use a “everyone passes” mentality (even if they can’t read or right (just kidding… write?)).
From what I understand from others is American English is the hardest language to learn worldwide.
I’m thinking a language like Chinese Mandarin, in part due to their extensive alphabet which I understand has several thousand characters.
Oh, I understand the confusion between words that sound alike, and I do know that ours is not an easy language to learn. Yet somehow hundreds of millions of people have learned it over the centuries. There isn’t much difference between American English and Imperial English when it comes to grammar and structure, and it can be learned.
If it is taught.
I think the key to learning proper English lies in reading. Reading gives us the exposure to words as they are supposed to be used, as they are supposed to look, and as they are supposed to relate to each other. That is, when the reading material is written by someone who is literate. Our problem today is that we are into what is probably the third generation of the attitude that precision in language doesn’t matter. My response to that is that precision always matters.
An example I use is about two commonly confused homonyms, “discreet:” and “discrete”. Most people these days don’t even know there ARE two ways to say and spell these words, much less that they mean very different things. So, in my example, someone is working in a munitions factory and the directions for placement of two volatile substances is that they must be placed discretely. That is, separated. But he doesn’t know his own language very well so he thinks it odd that these things should be placed “discreetly” so he tucks them side by side behind something to screen them from view—resulting, of course, in disaster.
I just listened to a book in which the author was so gender-specific-pronoun averse that he used the plural possessive “their” every time there was a possessive. So in talking about a single man he would say “their car” instead of “his car”. It was ridiculous and progressively more annoying. But people have not been taught that number is supposed to be consistent, and because of the gender hysteria relating to language that blossomed in the Feminist Years the squeamish have just dodged gender-specific pronouns altogether, in favor of the bastardized “their” for everything. It might not matter in light fiction, but there could be times when it would be important to know if the car was owned by one man (“his car”) or if there was another owner (“their car”).
Because people are ignorant of the very existence of the rule of matching number, they don’t realize how easy it would be to make small changes that would make sentences grammatically correct. For example, instead of “A parent should be able to see their child’s records” the simple change to “Parents should be able to see their child’s records”.
I guess part of my irritation is the genesis of so much bastardization of the language lying in Political Correctness. For centuries if the gender of a subject was not known “he” or “his” was an acceptable default word. Then the femininazis got involved and decided that it was a crime against humanity to say “A parent should be able to see his child’s records” because that implied that by definition the parent was (gasp! horrors!) a MAN! And the very sentence disrespected WOMEN! Blah blah blah. So we got the mangling of the language by mixing number, so a singular (“parent”) should be able to see a plural (“their”) child’s records. And now people are so used to it they don’t even realize it is wrong. It’s generations old now, so “teachers” teach this.
I think fuzzy speaking and fuzzy writing show fuzzy thinking. A friend asked me the other night why anyone should study Latin. My response is that it imposes discipline and order on thinking as well as on language. It not only gives us a road map into our own language, as so much of English is based on Latin roots, it also teaches us that there are rules for language that are essential for clarity and understanding.
I’m concerned about the decline in competence that seems to define the last couple of generations. If we prioritized thinking and intellectual advancement as much as we make a big deal out of working out to virtual trainers our brains would not be turning into mush. I also link this flaccidity in thinking to the uncritical acceptance of the crap people are fed by the Left.
A nation, or a culture, that dilutes or abandons rules because they are too hard ends up being a loosely organized and sloppy nation. A nation that sees too many students failing tests should look to the quality of the teaching, not just make the tests easier. A culture that indiscriminately mixes homonyms in text can’t be concise or understood.
I think we have just been given notes on the messaging we need to work on immediately, to head off the disaster of H1 passing.
But in Iowa — a state that’s been trending red for years, and where Donald Trump won by over eight percentage points in November — a new survey by one of the country’s top pollsters suggests that voters are irked by the latest push to curtail voting access.
As long as the Left is successful in selling the concept that refusing to pass this horrible bill is really just an effort to curtail voting access. we are sunk.
That’s the theme of the Left’s push to get this bill passed, and we really don’t have much time to address it with the facts. They say “curtail”—-we say “protect”. Except we aren’t saying anything.
Two members of Congress are asking the Navy to pull three books promoting identity politics and wokeness from its official reading list.
The books teach young sailors that they’re being asked to fight and possibly die for “a systemically racist country,” the lawmakers say.
The books—“How to Be an Antiracist” by Ibram X. Kendi; “The New Jim Crow” by Michelle Alexander; and “Sexual Minorities and Politics” by Jason Pierceson—are listed as part of the Chief of Naval Operations Professional Reading Program.
…………………
Fox News reported Tuesday that (chief of naval operations, Adm. Mike Gilday) did respond to an earlier letter from Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., that asked him to remove only the Kendi book, “How to Be an Antiracist,” from the reading list.
“While I do not endorse every viewpoint of the books on this reading list, I believe exposure to varied ideas improves the critical thinking skills of our sailors,” Gilday wrote to Banks in the letter, a copy of which was obtained by Fox News. “My commitment to them is to continue to listen, make sure their voice is heard, and make the Navy a shining example of an organization centered on respect, inclusive of all.”
Gilday, referring only to the Kendi book, said it “evokes the author’s own personal journey in understanding barriers to true inclusion, the deep nuances of racism and racial inequalities.”
The admiral also said that he wants the Navy’s sailors to achieve the same level of “self-reflection.”
Really? Why? Why is it the job of the Navy to fret about the “level of ‘self-reflection’ ” of its sailors?
Oops!
Time to risk it all and make a prediction: Coming soon to an Air Force One near you. Airplane Elevator in lieu of steps.
If there were any thoughts that Biden might make it through the next 4 years I think they were dispelled by his falling and stumbling his way up the steps to AF1. I’m not sure which is deteriorating faster, his mental state or his physical state.
But the real question we should be asking is, did he use one or two hands to take a drink?
But it’s not enough to point out the very serious deficiencies in Biden’s abilities—we need to emphasize the fact that a lot of people who voted for him did so because the Agenda Media hid the facts from the people who depend on them for “news”. If we just pick on poor old Joe that is really just picking on poor old Joe. We need to take the blame for him being where he is straight back to those responsible—-the people who thought he was a better alternative to Trump and the Fake News media who hid the truth from most of the public so they made decisions based on lies.
“…petroleum isn’t just a fuel, it’s the foundation of thousands upon thousands of products we rely on every day. Cars alone have plastic and other petroleum-based parts throughout their systems and interiors. There is, as of yet, no reliable or economical replacement for the petroleum used to manufacture those parts. So if oil and natural gas stop coming out of the ground tomorrow, once the supply has gone through all the refining and other processes, our entire way of life takes a wallop.
If the politicians who are pushing to ban gas cars and force everyone over to EVs with renewables at their present or near-future state of development do understand any of this, they’re not letting on. They’ll wreck modern industry.
Fortunately Twitter assured us this is an edited video, not confident that Don Jr.’s statement that it was edited, or the content, might be adequate to inform the average tweeter.
Cigna has a list of unacceptable (RACIST !!!) words and phrases that have to be eliminated. The word “goofy” is certainly going to get a workout with the Left in charge, at least until it is determined that it is dogphobic. Or cartoondogphobic. Or until Goofy is canceled for being insensitive to the unhinged.
So now it is racist/some kind of phobic/insensitive to someone somewhere to say “Quiet in the peanut gallery” or “brown bag lunch” or “Hip Hip Hooray!”.
And, having desexed the potato in the relentless pursuit of wokeness the new target is the game “Monopoly” where the terminally offended want to replace the old Community Chest rewards and punishments with approved pap.
Toy company Hasboro announced it is updating all 16 Community Chest cards featured on the Monopoly board game
The game’s traditional cards required players to $50 for ‘doctor’s fees’ or winning $10 for ‘coming in second place in a beauty contest’
New cards will have players pay money for acts such as failing to recycle the trash or winning money for running a non-profit’s social media account
The new ‘Go to Jail’ cards will be due to acts such as playing music too loudly but for ‘rescuing a puppy,’ the player can get out of jail for free.
New cards will have players pay money for acts such as failing to recycle the trash or winning money for running a non-profit’s social media account. Can there be a more blatant example of indoctrination? In what used to be a game but is being transformed into a bludgeon to thump Leftist ideology into the consciousness of players who just want to have fun, we are told there is a reward for for running a non-profit’s social media account and a punishment for failing to recycle the trash .
Recycling Is a Waste
Note that people can lose track of cost/benefit analysis if they feel virtuous. What about all the time it takes in the household to wash and sort all this stuff? How much is it going to cost to convert all this rubbish into usable material? Los Angeles estimates that because of recycling programs, it operates twice as many trucks as it otherwise would. “Recycling,” wrote Tierney in his monumental 1996 piece, “may be the most wasteful activity in modern America: a waste of time and money, a waste of human and natural resources.”
