The Afghanistan debacle just gets worse and worse – to me, Team Pudding Brain has made the calculation that the worst thing, for them, is American forces engaged in a bloody shoot out rescuing Americans. Too much risk in that for them – it might fail. Lots of people would die and if its ends up being lots of Americans, even worse for them politically. I don’t know quite what they’ll do now that we lost a dozen – though my bet is they’re hoping there won’t be any more. It seems pretty clear, at this moment, that we’re out on the 31st, come what may…and if you’re an American or ally still in country on the 1st, too bad, so sad.
This is, of course, to be charged entirely to Biden. He should resign and be impeached if he doesn’t. Neither will happen. He is a disgrace such as America has never seen before…and, yes, I realize he’s senile but nobody forced him in his lucid moments to do this. And his close family and friends could have had a little sense instead of merely licking their chops over the graft they’d have at their feet.
In a bit of good news, the eviction moratorium was struck down. The dirty secret in that moratorium was how it was driving small landlords out with their properties being picked up by massive corporate entities who can carry the freight of government mandates (and lobby for bail outs when things go south). My sister-in-law has to find a new place to live because her landlord sold all 13 of his properties. He’s out: too much of a hassle.
Now, we need to go a little further here. We can’t stop forever and everywhere Democrats trying to score cheap “fight for the little guy” points by doing things like the moratorium. So, we need very specific, federal laws which say that things like an eviction moratorium are a “taking” under the Constitution. Moratorium to your little heart’s content, liberal areas: but you’re going to pony up every cent. Not just the rent, itself, but the cost to the landlord for repairs, taxes, insurance…every penny involved in that property which you prohibited the landlord from making money off us is now on you, liberals. And to really twist the knife in, we should do everything we can to make such payments show up in liberal tax bills…spelled out, as it were, so they can see it happening in real time. You want to help the homeless? Cool. What a great thing – but now you’re not going to shove that burden of your white guilt onto everyone. We’ll place a tax on your favorite cars, booze, coffee…anything we can find on the high end side of liberal pleasure gets a tax…and the line with the charge on it will say “help the homeless” or “pay for the rent moratorium” or “college for illegal immigrants.”
The cop who killed Ashli Babbitt is in the process of being turned into a MSM hero. We can’t know the full details because no real investigation of the shooting was carried out…but from what I can tell, it didn’t look like he had a lot of justification for shooting. Mostly keep in mind – as a Twitter wag noted – that the people making him a hero are the same people who brought you Afghanistan.

Anyone else perplexed by the data on COVID? The CDC is reporting that over 50% of Americans have been vaccinated and that another 35% of Americans have had COVID, and yet cases are exploding, ICUs are at capacity, bodies are piling up in the streets (OK, I made that part up) and the sky is falling. Doesn’t pass the smell test, IMO.
It never has passed the smell test in my opinion. Last year when AZ was reported to be a hot spot with no ICU beds available, a local guy was on Facebook live and went to Chandler Regional Hospital (a big area hospital) and walked into the ER and NO ONE was there. He walked up to the nurse on duty and started to ask a question but she quickly hid. It’s just more fear peddling by the media.
Now I have known two women who have died. One was in and out of the hospital quite regularly because of her asthma, and the other was a severely overweight woman who drank quite a lot so both of them were not exactly in the “good health” category to begin with, so there is some legitimacy to Covid, but not near the level the media and government want us to believe

One of the figures I hope will eventually be investigated and made public is how many people died because of the refusal to use any drug that had been praised by President Trump. Remember, some governors issued edicts that hydroxychloroquine could not be prescribed in their states. Many pharmacies simply refused to honor prescriptions. Maybe these deaths should be attributed to TDS rather than Covid—but the Agenda Media and the lemmings who acted on the false information they provided all have blood on their hands.
It’s taken years to tally the deaths attributed to Stalin, to Hitler, to Pol Pot, et al. I hope it won’t take that long to come up with a figure for the unnecessary deaths caused by the American Left.
The 35% aren’t getting re-infected and the claim is that even when the vaccinated people get re-infected the symptoms are much less severe. So is the story that the ICUs are now swamped by the remaining 15% who are suddenly dropping like flies? This doesn’t even take into account the number of people who have had Covid but were never tested so don’t show up in any statistic, including those who never had any symptoms, or those who just had natural immunity without being infected.
I know math is racist and all, but maybe this is a good time to just go for it, indulge your inner racist and do some calculating.

These people are so despicable they should be run out of office. I think this photo of the abandoned dogs should be a major campaign photo for 2022 and 2024, as an example of cruel heartlessness and arrogance of the Left and its disdain for the suffering it causes.

I wonder how this works. They can’t just pick a handful of people and give them money to not shoot people based on the perception that they seem to be the kinds of people who shoot people—that would be profiling, and we all know how totally unacceptable and racist that is.
Maybe there is a registry—you call in, give your number and say you are thinking of shooting someone if you don’t get paid not to, and then someone rushes to wherever you are with a check.
No, not a check, because you need a photo ID to cash a check and we all know that shooter types aren’t smart enough to get photo IDs. Obviously cash, or deposits made to their EBT card accounts. And will not getting paid to not shoot someone become an acceptable defense when someone is tried for shooting someone? (As if THAT’S likely to happen!)

People in New Orleans are “struggling to find food and drinking water”.
Here’s an idea even a Democrat might be able to understand: Find a weather prediction site —there has to be one somewhere—–and inform people that a hurricane is coming and that when it arrives there will be no food, no water and no power. That way hundreds of thousands of people might not be taken by surprise and completely bumfuddled by the sudden, unexpected, appearance of wind and rain and flooding and the inability to go shopping.
