As I write it is late Tuesday so we still don’t know the Rittenhouse verdict – I am nervous about it as the self defense was so patently obvious that not guilty should have taken an hour. Is it hung up on one or two holding out for innocent, or one or two holding out for guilty? I guess we’ll find out when we find out.
The bottom line, though, is that where there is a Democrat DA, you don’t have a right to defend yourself. If you do against those allied politically with the DA, you will be prosecuted and if nothing else, the process will be the punishment. I urge anyone living under a DA where there is risk of Leftist violence to move to a place which has a Republican DA. But even then, watch out: if the federal government under a Democrat decides to charge you with civil rights violations because you defended yourself, you’ll be in the same predicament.
What this trial has done is shown that we need specific laws on the books securing the right to self defense. We have to make it clear that if you start violence, anyone can pretty much do anything they like to you if they feel that you are a threat to persons or property. We obviously will not be able to get these things enacted in Blue States, but in every State we can, do it. So that if a local Blue DA decides to mess around, won’t be able to.
“I Did That” Biden stickers are showing up everywhere as Republicans learn political street fighting. They are heavily effective – and things like high gas prices are set to sink the Democrats quite a lot.
It looks like we finally have a whistleblower at the FBI who is on our side – revealing that the FBI has conducted counter-terrorism investigations against parents attending school board meetings. This is terrifying stuff – the FBI is becoming the Demcorats Stasi. The next GOP President will have to largely dismantle the FBI and start all over.
Glenn Reynolds notes that we’re hampered in our space program because we worry too much about safety. Sure, we do have to take care – but the bottom line is that if humans really want to live in space and on other planets, then humans are going to have to die in space and on other planets. We should already have a permanent presence on the Moon and be scouting sites for a permanent presence on Mars by now. If we’re going to go, go. Don’t fuss too much about it.

There has to be a substantial level of fear among the jurors of retaliation if they find Rittenhouse not guilty; same for the judge and the city of Kenosha. It’s going to take strong leadership at the state and local level (certainly not a given) that ANY retaliation will be met with overwhelming force, and rioters will be shot. Absent that, it could turn into a real sh*t show.

I think Spook beat me to it, but I too believe the jury is afraid of being personally attacked, and/or Kenosha burning down again at the hands of Joe Biden voters and MSNBC viewers. Jury intimidation is a crime, but not if you’re aligned with the billionaires and the power elites

I agree and have been thinking the same thing. However, the chances of anyone in Kenosha standing up to the mob in any meaningful way are pretty slim.
But you are right, Cluster—jury intimidation IS a crime, and that is what has been going on since this began. But again, I doubt that much effort would have been put into finding out who has been making threats, or in applying that law to rioting after the fact.
DeSantis reserved some of his strongest criticism for the “elites” and “globalists” who he said have led America astray.

A really great speech, making some important points.
They look out for themselves, their families, and their donors. As I have said so many times before, they all go to the same cocktail parties, the same vacations, the same schools, etc., and they don’t want the party to end so yes the America peoples concerns take a back seat to their lifestyles. There really is no difference between the Sinaloa Cartel and the Democrat Party. They operate the same way.

I don’t see her retiring, not with Joe failing so quickly. She is such a narcissist, I’m sure she is convinced that her problem is Joe and his handlers not giving her a chance, or undermining her, and once she is in charge she’ll show them how wonderful she is. You are spot on, about the bleating of “hate crimes” by the Left. I don’t know about you, but I see the demand to take down the flags and shut down as the hate crime. I objected to the concept of “hate crimes” from the very beginning, predicting it would get to this point. It is a Thought Crime, which is part of Leftist tyranny as well as the ongoing splintering of our society.
A possible scenario: A white man goes into a convenience store and is chatting with the black clerk when another white man comes in, points a gun and demands that the clerk hand over the money in the register. The clerk is doing this but the robber, who is clearly on drugs and out of control., starts shooting and kills both the clerk and the other customer. Under the Hate Crimes concept, it will be assumed that the robber’s motive for killing the black man was racism, so the death of the black man would be considered more important than that of the white man.
The whole concept of Hate Crimes goes against what this country was founded on, and is dependent on motive or the assignment of motive, leading back to Thought Police punishing for what is going on inside someone’s head instead of what he is actually saying or doing.

Have the riots started?
I didn’t hear of violence in Kenosha, though a large group of people gathered outside the courtroom did cheer when the verdict was announced.
However, quite predictably, there was a fuss over in Portland, but even those rioters didn’t seem very enthusiastic. Oh, they went through their rituals of setting some fires, throwing some stuff, breaking a few windows, but overall they lacked the energy they usually bring to a riot.
Apart from graffiti saying “All Cops Are Kyles,” the rioters apparently didn’t explain why they were taking out their anger over a Wisconsin jury trial on law enforcement officers and government buildings in Portland. Nevertheless, the riot shows that Antifa is more a band of criminal marauders always looking for an excuse to L.A.R.P. as woke gladiators than some sort of justice league seeking to right societal wrongs.
