Only Super Trump Can Beat Trump

There is much talk about Trump. This is in itself astonishing – never has the guy who allegedly lost a Presidential election commanded this much attention a year later. That he’s still a massive topic of discussion shows the historic nature of his Presidency.

A lot of the talk is a bit of whistling past the graveyard. Especially a lot of Never Trump who didn’t go Full Democrat are certain that Trump is a fading commodity and we can all just move on from him. For the moment, their eyes are fixed firmly on Ron DeSantis…whom I think we all agree would be a fine President, but we also have our doubts about him. Not on basic policy, but on attitude. And that, I think, is why Trump stubbornly won’t fade away.

We on the right do want a good policy President. And we’d like a President who is much better at picking staff than Trump proved. And we don’t need daily drama. OTOH, we also know that more than ever, we need a fighter. Someone who will, day in and day out, go toe to toe with our opponents and never let up for a minute. Is DeSantis that guy? He does fight pretty well…but are we sure that when push comes to shove he’ll choose us rather than the Ruling Class? I think for DeSantis, or anyone other than Trump, they are going to have to really prove it to us.

Now, if Trump decides not to run – he will be 78, after all – then all bets are off. The race will be anyone’s for the taking. But even there, the person who gets the nod will be the person who most firmly convinces us that they are unafraid of a four year long slog of fighting. Because we have to have a fight. We can’t afford to compromise even a bit. We win, they lose: that has to be our goal.

The best and easiest way for any putative standard-bearer to make their mark is to simply defend the 1/6 defendants. Even Trump hasn’t been out front on that – and if he runs, the only way anyone will be able to attack Trump successfully will be from the right. As I said in 2016 when Trump was the front runner, the only way to beat Trump is to out-Trump him. Cruz tried, but I think he tried too late. But if you want to be the man, you have to beat the man…and nobody is going to beat Trump by going softer than Trump.

The crucial thing to know is that the old rules don’t apply. They really haven’t applied since the Democrats cooked up Watergate into a Presidency-destroying scandal. I mean, what is Watergate compared to Gore taking sacks of cash from monks pledged to poverty? You get the picture: whatever was wrong about Watergate, it wasn’t anything to get too worked up about. But that is when the Democrats, using their cat’s paws in the MSM, started making all political battles scorched Earth battles. But from Watergate to Trump, the GOP never engaged. We worked on the assumption that Democrats, like us, want what is best for America. Uh, no: what Democrats want is what is best for Democrats. All other considerations come in a distant second. They do this because they sincerely believe that basic human decency requires Democrats to be in charge. That we see it differently doesn’t matter – and is irrelevant. What we must do in response is what we’ve always had to do but refused: sincerely believe that basic human decency requires the GOP to be in charge.

It isn’t a very large mental shift, but it is a necessary one – because it builds into the mind the need to always thwart the Democrats and always advance the GOP. Never compromise. Never give anything and if you really are forced to give them something, make certain that you get ten times as much for yourself. Never attack your own side; abandon those found to be corrupt, but don’t attack them. Ignore them. If asked about one of ours who goes wrong, immediately launch into an attack on a Democrat who did similar. Always cast Democrat programs in the darkest possible terms – it is easy to do because all their supposed social programs are mere grift to payoff donors. What is being done against CRT is the template – the old GOP might have merely quibbled around the edges while essentially conceding the main point. But the people battling CRT started with the assertion that CRT is evil…and they’ve forced the Democrats into the untenable position of defending the worst aspects of CRT…and it is working for us. It played a huge role in winning Virginia.

It is all a very long way to 2024, but I think I can be safe in saying that how it will come out won’t be in anyone’s predictive model. We’re in flux. We’re in danger of civil war, actually. None of the old political certainties are holding up. Liberals in San Francisco are buying guns while working class Latino voters are for the first time casting GOP votes. Meanwhile, upper class white people with a college degree become even stronger for the Democrats. Victory and disaster stare us in the face: we’ll get one or the other. And only a fighter – backed by fighters – can prevail.

If asked about one of ours who goes wrong, immediately launch into an attack on a Democrat who did similar.

I had this discussion with my son-in-law a while back when he accused me of engaging in whataboutism. My response was, in a time when one side (Democrats) constantly accuses the other of doing what THEY themselves have done or are doing (ie., colluding with the Russians) then “whataboutism is not only just, it’s a moral imperative. He never brought it up again.

I think Democrats are beginning to realize that the extreme woke Left of their party which they have lived in fear of, is beginning to consume and destroy that party and their electoral chances. I have learned that watching MSNBC is in reality watching a Democrat planning session in real time and this morning the panic was real. Jimmy Neutron (Joey Scarborough) was fretting over inflation and crime and Democrats inability to solve either and what that might portend for 2022. A couple other panel members chimed in claiming that the 2020 election was an election where the electorate wanted a “return to normal” from the “drama” of Trump. Now aside from the fact that MSNBC is 90% responsible for the “drama” surrounding Trump, a fact which was entirely lost on them of course, this was an accurate observation which leads me to this conclusion. Covid is going away. My prediction is that come early Spring, the manufactured numbers of Covid will begin to plummet, mandates will wane, restrictions will ease, and Biden will declare victory over the most dangerous pandemic known to man. Democrats need a victory and Covid is an easy one.

And IF Republicans were smart, they would begin to track the infrastructure money and let their constituents know exactly where that money is going because just like Obama’s $800 billion dollar infrastructure bill in 2009, shovel ready jobs won’t be so shovel ready and most of that money will help Democrats, not average Americans.

I think there is a growing sense that we need a bulldozer to plow through the incredible messes created and being created by Biden, and if Trump is anything it is a bulldozer. Add to that the fact that there hasn’t seemed to be anyone on the Left who could challenge him.

But I see two things on the horizon. One, just revealed, is Tulsi Gabbard. As I pointed out last night, she has suddenly popped up on media radar—-and the media are ours. From being a former Rep out there on a Pacific Island giving an opinion every now and then she is suddenly on talk shows in New York. A couple of years ago she didn’t stand a chance against the Dem machine placeholders like Warren and Sanders who were demanding their turn and, of course, Biden. This is a different Dem scenario, and if they are not desperate they should be.

I think Cluster made a good point about the country wanting to stop the drama, and Gabbard is the most calm, rational-appearing and undramatic candidate they could find. She’s a woman, which checks one box. She’s a veteran, which would appeal to independents. She’s young, well-spoken and articulate, and she’s pretty.

The other storm cloud I see rising is vaccinations. I don’t see how we can go on for another three years poisoning out people. When this blows up, and I don’t see how it cannot blow up, I think it will be a Hiroshima/Nagasaki explosion and there will be blowback on Trump. Who brought Fauci in? Trump. Who pushed rapid development of the vaccines? Trump. Who first promoted vaccination and told us it was safe? Trump. He’ll be tagged as the guy responsible for the vax deaths and injuries. We already know that about half of the electorate is as dumb as a box of hammers, so blaming Trump will fit right in with the old narrative that made the last election stealable.

If I am right, the next election could be between an old bull with baggage that can now be claimed to include responsibility for the greatest human rights attack in our history against a fresh young newcomer with no negative baggage and an appealing persona. One is often barely articulate, the other is glib and an excellent communicator.

And we are, at this point in time, stuck with that possible paradigm, because we as a party have still not moved away from Identity Politics into ideology—-a word that has, by the way, been effectively demonized by the Left. In an Identity Politics battle, someone like Gabbard is going to win because she checks the boxes the Left will come up with. It will be female vs male, young vs old, articulate vs not so much sometimes, no baggage vs tons of it, and most of all the image of calm and reasonable vs barn-burner. A Gabbard candidacy would leave the radicals in the dust, but there aren’t that many of them, but suck in Independents and anti-Trumpers like a Hoover. (vac, not pres)

I see the best move now to be a preemptive one by Trump. That is, a full hour on prime time TV in which he does a major and sincere mea culpa, takes responsibility for bringing in Fauci and believing him and the CDC, talks about being lied to by the experts he should have been able to count on, spends a solid fifteen minutes on this, then goes into a full exposure of the dangers of the vaccine and most of all the culpability of the current administration in continuing to push it even with full knowledge of those dangers. The one thing he has going for him right now is that the data on the vax deaths and injuries did not come out on his watch. He pushed for a fast development, but after that he handed it over to Biden and Biden’s CDC and media. I think if he were the one to blow the lid off this, he would be a super hero and clear the decks of future accusations trying to drag him into the muck.

And once the public starts to move to Trump’s side on this, they are likely to stay there in an election.

This would sweep the legs out from under everyone in the current Dem administration, including a lot in Congress, and set the stage for a Trump presidency as he could then run on cleaning house in the other corrupt corners of government. A campaign that focused on bringing to justice the people who callously caused such great harm to the nation would be explosive, but drama in a good way, and throwing in the DOJ/FBI would make for a dynamic campaign. This is the kind of drama that would be good drama and energy, and I think the only way to balance a campaign that would be based to a great extent on the other side being so calm and undramatic.

Also, if DeSantis had to step in for Trump, I am very sure he could handle it. I haven’t seen a hint of quit in the man. He is as tough as Trump, maybe a little more focused, and reminds me of our last Happy Warrior. DeSantis is having fun chopping Dems into fish bait. (That’s a Florida reference)

And an election matching a young dynamic DeSantis against a young dynamic Gabbard would then by definition have to fall back on ideology. And as a Democrat, she would have to either throw the Leftist big-government top-down Constitution-bending ideology under the bus, upsetting the base even more, or run with it around her neck against a seasoned governor who has been not only fighting that model but winning against it. Too bad he couldn’t bring in Winsome Sears as his running mate, because in reality we can’t completely ignore Identity Politics.

Trump could run for the House and become Speaker, under a President DeSantis, and really freak out the Left. Some pundit recently claimed that there is no requirement for the Speaker to even be a Representative. If you’re going to play the game, might as well play hard.

The anniversary date of November 22 reminded me of the last time a dynamic young Democrat military veteran with Congressional credits went up against an old Republican war horse with baggage and a personality deficit. That election still took some vote manipulation to win, but we still saw how it turned out.

One of these is the fact that even radical Lefty goofball Debra Messing can see through the dishonesty of wikipedia’s wokepedia’s silly effort to downplay the massacre in Waukesha by calling it the “2021 Waukeshas Christmas Parade Car Crash”.

      Debra Messing✍🏻
Dear Mainstream Media—a man intentionally drove his car through a parade killing 6 and injuring 50+.

      It was not an ACCIDENT.

      🔥Call it by its name🔥#WaukeshaMassacre

And it was a domestic terror attack.

      Don’t minimize. Please.

Some Lefties even thought the “car crash” label was too harsh. “A request that this article title be changed to 2021 Waukesha Christmas parade incident is under discussion.””

The comments about the linked article are sometimes funny. It was a mostly peaceful massacre by a mostly peaceful black man, loved by his mother was probably the best.

Most relevant: “Is there going to be an individual I divert or I put in the treatment program who is going to go out and kill somebody? You bet, guaranteed. It’s guaranteed to happen. It does not invalidate the overall approach.”
John Chisholm in 2007 (as reported by Fox News on “The Five”)
      —now Milwaukee County DA

      • Cluster November 25, 2021 / 3:29 pm

Waukesha was simply a black supremacist killing white people. And the cowards in this country will never be able to recognize that fact.

Two headlines this morning lays bare the reality of how Democrats govern:

Thieves make off with $20,000 of products from California Apple store:

More than 60,000 homes and businesses in Southern California are left without power on Thanksgiving after utility company cut service as strong winds raised the risk of wildfires

So they don’t enforce laws and can’t keep the electricity on, but other than that, I hear they care about the working class.

Maybe now that Apple’s ox is being gored the company will revise its SJ equity policies

I’ve always wondered how a country like the United States could possibly become a dystopian society, ie., Divergence, Hunger Games, etc.. I think we’re seeing it play out in real time.

  7. Cluster November 27, 2021 / 10:07 am

Well here it is folks, straight from the true power source in the Democrat Party … MSNBC. I mentioned this the other day and now Jimmy Neutron, aka Joey Scarborough is also saying that Covid goes away next year. Why?? Because the Democrats need a win and since they are clueless on the economy, crime, and foreign affairs, the easy one to fix is Covid. And the last sentence reveals why …

“I, I, I said it before, Mika. I suspect that, eventually, inflation will cycle out. It may get worse before it gets better. Oil may go up to $100 per barrel. And, you also — we may have another surge in COVID. I do think, though, especially COVID, washes out in the spring; all the advancements that we’re making. I really do believe—and this is the importance, the important thing—that Americans are going to see a return to normalcy, as far as shutdowns and COVID mandates. I think we will see that next year. And the party in power will benefit from that.”

  8. Cluster November 27, 2021 / 10:21 am

Ok this is just too funny not to post, and it so perfectly exposes the current intellect dominating the Democrat Party … these are truly stupid people. Here’s a former Philadelphia police commissioner commenting on the recent surge in retail crime:

“Many of the young people we arrested had no previous criminal records. And why they were getting involved in something like this I have no idea . . . So I don’t know what’s driving this.”

So he has no clue why these stellar young people would engage in crime but just a few seconds later, he makes this comment:

“The punishment for this kind of crime is very, very minimal. In most cases it’s a misdemeanor. There are some DAs that have flat-out said they’re no longer going to prosecute shoplifting.”

hahahahahahaha and the panel nodded right along in agreement. And these are the people who are going to save the planet LMAO!!!!

    • Retired Spook November 27, 2021 / 11:46 am

This kind of utter stupidity is so easy to ridicule, but unless Conservatives have a national platform (like Amazona has often talked about), it’s just falling on deaf ears or preaching to the choir. Ridicule (one of Alinsky’s most effective principles) is one of the few tactics of the Left that we ought to emulate every chance we get.

      • Amazona November 27, 2021 / 2:56 pm

The recent SNL skit “Are You A Republican” did a great job of this. The fact that the group now owning CNN has John Malone as a major partner, and that he has talked about the need for CNN to get back to actual journalism, might be a good sign.

Malone owns huge swaths of land in the same small Wyoming County where Phil Anschutz and Timothy Mellon have land. Anschutz used to own the movie company that made the Narnia movie series, and demanded of the director that the Christian allegory that is at the heart of the book series be retained in the movies. He also owns the Washington Examiner and a local Colorado Springs newspaper, indicating an awareness of the need for right-leaning media. (He used to own National Review and dumped it when it veered off to the Left.) Mellon once wrote a million dollar check to the governor of Arizona to help in her defense against the lawsuit filed against her by Barack Obama, for enforcing immigration laws, and recently contributed nearly 98% of the donations to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s $54 million border wall fund,

This county in Wyoming is what I call the Billionaire Boys’ Club, and it is pretty well-kept secret. Another in the club, or at least eager to be accepted in it, is Bruce White, who owns most of the Marriott chain. The amount of money concentrated in this obscure little county is amazing, and these guys all know each other. If Anschutz and Mellon and Malone are taking a slightly more public stance this might indicate some movement toward a more robust involvement in national politics.

    • Amazona November 27, 2021 / 2:59 pm

Uhhhh- just spitballing here, but could it be that these rioters, vandals, arsonists, thieves and assaulters don’t have criminal records because no one has ever prosecuted them for any of these crimes?

      Jes’ sayin’

And, to continue this line of pure speculation, could they be continuing to do these things because they know there will never be any consequences?

Just thinking of some theories for the CNN “journalists” to pursue in their unending quest for explanations for what baffles them

      • Cluster November 27, 2021 / 7:39 pm

Exactly. Retail crime is a no risk, all reward type venture right now. Nothing to lose, yet the genius police commissioner didn’t connect the dots on that one. It’s hilarious if it wasn’t so sad.

      • Amazona November 28, 2021 / 12:28 am

Well, no risk for some. A security guard has died after he was shot while he protected a San Francisco Bay Area television news crew covering a smash-and-grab theft, part of a rash of organized retail crime in the region.

This was, however, a mostly peaceful social justice reparations activity engaged in by people with no criminal records, in a situation where some people did something and then a gun shot someone.
