The Democrats – still in the Senate majority – have been holding Orange Man Bad hearings to finish off their term. Yesterday, the Orange Man was Bad because of this illegal immigrant he’d like to deport – Foday Turay – who is a prosecutor.

A prosecutor. Prosecuting American citizens. Democrats thought it would be a good idea to highlight that they gave a job in law enforcement to an illegal immigrant.

This is a strong indicator that our Democrats haven’t learned a darned thing. Trump ran an 18 month campaign with one of his major issues – front and center all the time – being that he was doing to deport the illegals. After hearing this argument – and the Democrat counter-argument, forcefully stated with a billion dollars of campaign funds and overwhelming MSM support for the Dem position – the American people elected Trump. That’s it. We’re done here. There might be some room for compromise here and there (we’re not rat bastards with no feelings, after all) but the basic thrust is going to be deportations and border security. That is what the American people want. It is what they will get.

Democrats are saying how mean it will be if illegals lose their jobs.

I don’t know what to say about such people – that is, people who can’t absorb simple facts like, say, a lost election. There’s no mind for me to reach. If after 11/5 you’re shouting BLM slogans, condemning Israel and rising in defense of illegal immigration you’re not just wrong, you’re an idiot. These ideas were rejected by the electorate…the only path forward for those who back such views is to rethink them, make adjustments and try different tactics. Democrats are acting like 11/5 didn’t happen.

Maybe its because after their news outfits finished up lying to them on 11/5, our Democrats continue to trust them? This would make them even stupider…but one of the excuses the MSM/Dems are making is that Trump didn’t win a landslide. To be sure, it wasn’t a 1980 result, but it was a close as we’re going to get any time soon. Let’s look at it:

In 2016, Trump received 62,984,828 votes. In 2024, 77,237,942. Little bit of math – even a Liberal could do this – and we see that over an 8 year period while under constant attack and lawfare, Trump increased his vote total by 14,253,114. That’s a 22.6% increase over his 2016 vote. That’s a pretty popular guy. And we must always keep in mind that in all three elections, Democrats stuffed ballot boxes. It is what they do – they insert as many fake ballots into the system as they can…this is especially prevalent in the Blue States where Democrats have consistently removed any vote security systems. My guess is that in any given national election, Democrat vote totals are probably 10% fake though it would take a very thorough investigation to get to an exact figure – it might be more (don’t get me wrong, even without fake votes, we were losing CA and NY…but we’d lose them by smaller margins in an honest system and we wouldn’t have the sheer magic of every late-decided House race in CA falling to the Dems weeks after the election).

And in this election, Trump’s coattails were sufficient to secure a Congressional majority. The Supreme Court is majority in favor of law. The Administrative State (Deep State) is going to be brought under control. We won, Democrats. You lost. You have no real power to alter the course for the next two years. Prepare for the mid-terms: they are traditionally favorable to the Party which lost the previous election. But, my goodness, you’re going to get wiped in 2026 if over the next two years you just keep going Resist drivel. There’s nothing to resist. The people have chosen. You have been rejected. The chances that in two years the people will be going, “wow, sorry I voted Trump: what I want is a return to the border invasion and more medical mutilation of kids!” is nil. If you want to win in 2026 and thus gain some actual leverage, you’re going to have to come up with something different.

Or don’t. I don’t care. The stupider you are, the better for us.

It looks increasingly like Hegseth and the rest of Trump’s picks will sail through. Joni Ernst was leading a charge against Hegseth – in cooperation with the MSM/DNC who worked up a series of increasingly stupid lies about Hegseth – but she’s cooling her jets now…there have been rumors of a primary challenge. There still might be one: her choice to make an issue out of Hegseth angered a lot of people (me, inlcuded). There was just no sense in it. Even if you dislike Trump, the place to fight him is not in cabinet picks…by and large, the American people accept that a President should get the cabinet of the President’s choice. To expend political capital fighting the guy chosen to clean up an obviously dysfunctional military was just stupid…and to lend credence to the Democrats’ serial slanders of the man was disgusting.

I’m sitting here getting ready to release Book IX of the Mirrors series (Home World) and I’m about 65% done with Book X (this will wrap up the series with possible different story lines available for later works – but I want to start working on my post-apocalyptic series Of the 15 as well as a sort of Hallmark movie story about a sailor and a princess) and here comes Hollywood with….Meet the Parents 4. Look, I get it: Meet the Parents was hilarious. The second installment was a credible sequel. The third installment dragged out a premise which was exhausted. What they heck are they going to do in a fourth movie? And, hey, its not just me putting out stuff that is new entertainment content…there are a host of indy writers out there, including some on the Left, who are putting out new stuff which has different takes on things. But our Entertainment Industry is a sick joke…just recycling the same old stuff over and over again. The reason? They figure an established franchise is at least sold money-maker…but they aren’t solid money-makers. Disney has just about killed the Star Wars franchise. The Narnia franchise is about to be destroyed in a woke version. The Tolkien universe is almost completely destroyed (this destruction starting, actually, with the total ruination of Faramir’s character in the third movie). Its not just that they are out of ideas: they are destroying what was once good ideas.

There were 23 million more votes in 2024 vs 2016. Even you could do that math—I think. He’s not even popular with 50% of voters.

I checked – twice – and it seems that Trump won. GOP won Congress, too. Its a 6-3 Conservative Court. Trump’s cabinet appointees are committed to reform.

      You lost.

You all still insist there was no election fraud in 2020, in spite of the abundant and growing evidence/proof of such fraud. No mind to reach here because this obdurate clinging to falsehood and fantasy is not based on any actual “mind” but merely on the toxic brew of mindless hatred which not only fuels but defines the American Left. Sometimes someone of your ilk will have a fleeting desire to appear slightly less delusional and will moderate this insistence with the modifier “not enough to affect the outcome” which is another lie but at least a tacit agreement that yes, there was fraud.

It’s funny to watch your kind fight so ferociously to prevent reforms to the electoral process that would, if not totally eliminate such fraud, at least make it harder to perpetrate and limit its opportunities. You lack the self awareness to realize that as you do so you illustrate your desperate need to have such opportunities available to you, with the understanding that without cheating you can never win. You basically admit that without having illegitimate votes from dead people, illegal aliens and other ineligible voter classes you will have a much harder road to victory, which is why you insist on blocking every effort to remove these classes from the voter registration rolls. You basically admit that if the rules are followed, you will lose, so you demand that mailed ballots be counted even when they are not received in the stated time frame and/or do not have signatures that can be matched to voter registration records. You understand that examination of the actual ballots will show frauds such as photocopied ballots and/or machine-marked ballots, so you insist that only images of ballots be examined. You come up with wild and bizarre excuses for not demanding government-issued photo IDs, while campaigning in states to issue photo IDs to people not eligible to vote, and then registering them to vote.

When every single election effort by the Left is focused on enabling fraud, while at the same time there is the ongoing shrieking of the lie that there was no fraud in 2020 in the face of absolute proof that there was, you telegraph both your dishonesty and your dependence on fraud. And none of your smirky little comments disguise this.

You are a poster child of this pseudo-political personality disorder, latching onto the pretense of political thought to try to provide cover for what is really just spewing of some strange fixation on anything ugly and negative. In all your many posts here, over many years, under many names as you routinely get kicked off the blog, I do not believe you have ever posted a single positive comment or a single real idea, merely regurgitating whatever sour nasty hateful snotnugget you have snouted out and presenting it here in an effort to basically piss on what we believe.

It’s who you are. It’s what you are. It’s odd that you demand that you be so clearly identified, but then pathology is often a mystery.

He’s not even popular with 50% of voters.

Except he is. Most Americans expect President-elect Donald Trump to do a good job upon his return to the White House next month (54%) and a majority approves of how he’s handling the presidential transition so far (55%), according to a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS. Other polls say much the same thing, with optimism and approval of most of his stated choices for his administration and his agendas moving forward.

Sour whiners like you are still making a lot of noise, but being drowned out by reality, and it will only get worse for you as you see the successes of the Trump administration and the shriveling of the strident Left’s bleatings and snivelings.

Time named President-elect Donald Trump its 2024 Person of the Year early Thursday
        …………………………………………………….
Meta has donated $1 million to Donald Trump’s inaugural fund in the latest sign CEO Mark Zuckerberg is trying to repair his relationship with the president-elect.

The contribution comes after Zuckerberg and his advisers visited Trump last month at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, the Journal said.

Zuck donating is a big signal – he knows new heads of regulatory agencies are coming in and they will take a narrow view of any attempts to “combat misinformation” that work out to suppression of Right views.

Plus, also, these guys can see what has been going on in our economy…billionaires like being rich but a system $37 trillion in debt, with high inflation and low productivity is a disaster waiting to happen.

I am more optimistic today than I have been in the past 25 years about Americans wanting a return to normal. Democrats became unhinged and began a pursuit of total power in 2000 when Gore challenged the hanging chads. Bush was deemed to have been “selected” rather than elected, and that’s where the division began and it has only become worse. Obama was a total construct of the Left and that inauthenticity never sat well with a lot of Americans. Sure, he had the college kids and suburban white women swooning, but most of of us were wondering where in the hell he came from, and what his credentials were, but of course we were called racists for even questioning that. 8 years of Obama populating the federal agencies with partisans WAS the fundamental change Obama promised, which was designed to cement power for Democrats but alas the American people saw differently in 2016, and that really angered the Left, so they proceeded to malign, impeach indict, prosecute, and even attempted to assassinate the American candidate. Hence Covid, Universal mail in balloting, secret counts, late night ballot drops, etc., etc. WE ALL KNOW what happened in 2020 and to my delight, Americans said enough on Nov. 5.

Americans are tired of the whiny, racist, entitled, and angry Democrat …. MAGA is here to stay

    • Mark Noonan's avatar Mark Noonan December 12, 2024 / 2:22 pm

There really is that sense of hope – that we’ve disposed of the Left. Sure, they can come back…but for the moment, they are defeated and everyone is tired of their whines.

When those BLM activists got up to pitch a bitch about Penny’s acquittal you could see it…nobody cared. It was just mindless shouting of dated and discredited slogans. For crying out loud, POC helped Penny subdue the creep and they were defending a mixed race group of people on the train. Everyone knows what really happened because anyone who has spent time in big city in the last few years has seen it…the whacked out loser acting in a threatening manner. Of course you step on people like that – you have to before they hurt someone. And Penny didn’t intend the man’s death. Trust me: he’s a Marine…if he wanted that guy dead he would have been dead in seconds. He was just trying to restrain him until law enforcement could arrive. You know: acting like a citizen.

We’re all done with that – we’re back to being Americans in America.

      • Mark Noonan's avatar Mark Noonan December 12, 2024 / 4:58 pm

Yep – they are just insane in their ignorance.

Like that CEO who was shot – they’re justifying it by saying, “well, denying a claim is also violence!”. FFS…no its not. In today’s tort environment an insurance company is more likely to pay a questionable claim than deny a legally valid one. Do you realize how much money you’d get if your insurance company denied coverage of something they were legally bound to cover? We’re talking retirement money if that sort of thing happened…especially if it resulted in injury or death.

Now, as to what should be covered and at what cost – that is a prudential judgement and people can disagree about that. But not getting the exact care you think you should at the time you demand isn’t violence…it just is what it is and if you think it isn’t right, address yourself to the political system for redress…don’t blame the CEO who’s just working in the existing system (which, by the way, is currently the ObamaCare system…if your insurance sucks right now, its because it is mandated to suck by Mr Hope and Change).

The constant efforts to link Trump to Hitler tell us nothing more than that the rabid Left is so desperate to destroy Trump that you/they will stoop to any level to demean him. By your silly insistence on referring to the fact that Time Magazine considered Hitler to be internationally significant in 1938 that means that Trump, TWICE named Man (Person) of the Year, somehow has something in common with Hitler. It’s a petty, specious and thoroughly stupid effort, made only by someone petty, specious and stupid, so you seem quite impressed with it. But, if you are making a valid point, let’s look at all the other people who have so much in common with Hitler:

And here’s a wild idea, which has evidently not resonated with your kind: the actual SIGNIFICANCE of the award. That is, what does it mean? What are the criteria for being named?

Since 1927, Time magazine has chosen a man, woman, or idea that “for better or worse, has most influenced events in the preceding year.” Although Time’s list is not an academic or objective study of the past, the list gives a contemporary view of what was important during each year.

We operated in good faith and in reliance on True the Vote. We continue to have confidence in their work and also in the basic message of “2000 Mules,” namely, that the 2020 election was not the “most secure election in US history”—far from it!—and that there was systematic election fraud sufficient to call the outcome into question. We also continue to have faith that True the Vote’s underlying geolocation data and analysis uncovered highly suspicious cell phone travel patterns, including a significant number of cell phone IDs that were recorded at more than ten drop box locations. While the video in the film created an incorrect inference as to Mr. Andrews, the underlying premise of the film holds true.

But this is what rock/cow does, always has done, and no doubt always will do. As I pointed out, in his entire history with the blog he has never—ever—come here to discuss an idea. Instead, he snouts around in the garbage bins of the Complicit Agenda Media for something that has an odor that appeals to him and then rushes over here to wave it triumphantly to prove, if only in his twisted little mind, that there is something profoundly wrong with us and our worldview and our political choices. Or, more likely as the actual snouting around would require some effort, he lets the Agenda Media do it for him and then feed him the curated tidbits selectively mined and determined to be exactly what people like him are attracted to.

rock/cow didn’t remember that Hitler was once Time Magazine’s Man of the Year, then sit down and ponder the meaning of this and link it, in his own mind, to some connection to Donald Trump because Trump has had the same title bestowed upon him. Of course not. rock/cow just squats in his mental and emotional squalor waiting for professional snouters to root around, dig up something and then present it to him and then he barges in here triumphantly waving his tattered stinky irrelevant piece of trash as if it is some kind of trophy. And for him, it probably is.

How about this? Indeed, the accuracy of the general proposition of ‘2000 Mules” was publicly confirmed recently by the disclosure of a leading Democratic organizer, who admitted to an undercover journalist that the premise of “2000 Mules” is accurate.

A single aspect of the film is flawed. That is, the geolocation aspect. But the videos still show the same people going from drop box to drop box repeatedly, during the middle of the night, to deposit large numbers of ballots. The geolocation aspect merely fails to definitively link a certain person, based on cell phone data, to a certain location—-it does not disprove the recorded fact that events were taking place.

Your obsession with taking fragments of fact and then using them to start endless bickerfests in which you wallow in your personal pathology, as seen in your desperate need for attention which you feed by trying to be so offensive that people react to you, is well known here. As is your propensity for lying.

Your problem is that you read the MSM report about the D’Souza statement but never read his statement, yourself.

I posted a link to his statement on his own website and quoted from it. And I read it. Sure, he clings to the claim that “there was systematic election fraud sufficient to call the outcome into question” even as his own premise turns out to be fraudulent. It’s the big lie over and over, even when your own evidence (or lack thereof) says otherwise. We all get it. You can’t let go. People who can’t absorb simple facts like, say, a lost election.

As for Trump bringing prices down, the issue is that just a few months ago on the campaign trail he claimed, “When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on day one.” And now? Apparently we shouldn’t have taken him literally. Or even seriously.

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona December 13, 2024 / 12:14 pm

Surely you can see how transparent your frantic editing is. You take it upon yourself to pick through what D’Souza says and then “translate” it for us after running it through your lie/hate filters and seem to think that you have presented a compelling argument.

What “premise” turned out to be “fraudulent”? (“Inaccurate” is not the same as “fraudulent”, which implies intent to deceive, but after all we are talking about your filters, not reality, so that’s what comes out.) But seriously—what about the entire report is wrong?

Just the ability to link, in a way that would pass muster in a court of law, the IDENTITY of the people doing the illegal ballot harvesting based solely on the information gleaned from the geolocation of their cell phones. The videos are not “fraudulent”. The videos prove that many people, easily identified by appearance if not by name, repeatedly visited several drop boxes to deposit multiple ballots.

And it is significant that you, and your kind, pick and choose among the vast array of proofs of election rigging to come up with a single thing, an admission that a single element in a complex strand of otherwise solid proof, was based on an inaccuracy, and proudly produce this as proof that the entire election was legitimate. Of course, to do this you have to completely ignore the vast web of election interference (rigging) that took place before and during the election, and the sworn affidavits of witnesses, and you have to ferociously fight any effort to do an actual legitimate investigation. You dismiss the election rigging of collusion among federal agencies and the Agenda Media to hide (even lie about) information that the public has a right to know, to be able to make informed decisions about their votes. You dismiss the illegal changes to state election laws rammed through right before the election, changes which were later overturned as illegal but which had already allowed for tens of thousands of illegitimate votes to be cast.

If the Left had allowed, supported, true objective investigation into the dozens and dozens of examples of fraud and these objective investigations had found nothing wrong, you would have a leg to stand on. But the strident, obdurate, denial of any true investigation is proof that you KNOW it was rigged and now have a vested interest in hiding the fraud.

Do you know what “fungible” means? Here—-I’ll help you, as you are so obviously dependent on being told what to believe. Cornell Law defines it thusly: Fungible things are items that can be easily replaced with another item that is practically the same. Water can be described as “fungible” as when a stream joins a river the waters become blended, and it is no longer possible to say which drop of water had which origin.

Votes are fungible. When a ballot is accepted it becomes a vote and is inserted into the stream of votes, which is fungible. It can no longer be isolated and identified as to its source. If that vote happens to be selected for examination, it can then be investigated to see if it is legitimate in form—-on the right paper, for example—-but its source is no longer identifiable. This is why most voter fraud associated with mail voting takes place at the point where envelopes are accepted and their contents merged with the fungible stream of votes.

Once that happens, these votes, the legitimate votes and those accepted due to efforts to commit fraud, can be recounted dozens of times without a significant change in the totals. This is what the rabid Left depends on, and what it constantly bleats to its ignorant followers—THE VOTES HAVE BEEN RECOUNTED AND THERE IS NO FRAUD! But the fraud lies, for the most part, in the process of getting the envelopes to the counting area and then having them accepted as containing legitimate votes.

This is where the election fraudsters accept envelopes with no signatures, envelopes received outside the legal time frame for acceptance, etc. These envelopes are quickly opened and their contents dumped into the fungible stream of votes, where they take on the status of legitimate votes and cannot easily be isolated and examined. This is why the Left fights efforts to tighten and enforce the laws regarding signatures, signature matching and time frames of acceptance. This is why envelopes, legally required to be preserved, somehow just disappear after months of legal wrangling and opposition by the Left lead to legal permission to examine them for signatures and postmarks.

This is why documented events such as the delivery of tens of thousands of ballot envelopes from New York to Pennsylvania in the middle of the night are swamped by shrill objections and legal wrangling—because once those envelopes are opened and the contents merged with real votes they cannot be isolated and identified as fraudulent.

The election frauds of 2020 are part of a vast and intricate web of deceit, and depend on puppets like you to swarm blogs like this to shrilly squeal when an isolated incident of inaccuracy is admitted, that this is somehow proof that the rest of the body of evidence of fraud is somehow disproved.

The thing about you and your own role in the squealing sounder of indignant defenses is that I don’t think you do it out of ideology. I think the role of the Left in your personal pathology is just that it provides a pretense that lets you wallow in what really matters to you. You and your relationship to this blog remind me of a sullen resentful loser misfit who is compelled to key every nice expensive car he sees. This is a place where real people exchange real ideas, so you are compelled to come here to dump your mental feces on it and, essentially, try to vandalize it.

They have to keep up the fiction about 2020 being “the most secure election”. Any admission of a question about it blows their whole worldview out of the water…Trump must have been hated and so therefor he must have lost fair and square…even though he gained more than 11 million votes 2016 to 2020 and without the odd counts in just four cities Biden would have lost.

The really funny thing is that if the Dems hadn’t cheated then Trump would be just a little more than a month from leaving office…more than likely, given the nature of things, a Democrat would be about to be sworn in and the Deep State would remain largely intact.

They shot themselves in the foot in 2020.

But rock/cow has no real political foundation.

You just make up shit to make yourself feel better. As though anyone here is talking about their political foundations.

trying to make a big deal out of Hitler once getting the same award that Trump is getting.

You posted that Trump was named Time person of the year as though it was a badge of honor, something that confirmed his vast popularity. I merely pointed out that it is not an honor. Not only did Hitler receive the same title, every incoming president in modern history has as well. Sorry if that point eludes you.

As for Dinesh D’Souza, he now says that the data he called “the premise of the film” wasn’t real after all. And yet you continue to defend him. Like Mark said at the top, “I don’t know what to say about such people – that is, people who can’t absorb simple facts like, say, a lost election. There’s no mind for me to reach.”

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona December 13, 2024 / 4:59 pm

As though anyone here is talking about their political foundations

That’s pretty much all we talk about. You just don’t recognize it because you are so limited. And BTW, I don’t “make up shit”. I don’t have to. You and your kind dish out so much shit there is no reason to make up anything. Here is a perfect example: You posted that Trump was named Time person of the year as though it was a badge of honor, something that confirmed his vast popularity Well, all I did was make a statement that he was being named Man Of The Year. Your pathology filled in an attributed motive for what I posted, and then you attacked it. Which is pretty much par for the course when it comes to explaining your odd and disjointed attacks and comments.

I merely pointed out that it is not an honor. Not only did Hitler receive the same title, every incoming president in modern history has as well.. First you create a flimsy straw man of an alleged intent for a post, then you attack your own invention, then you say the title is not an honor and then you claim the fact that all presidents have received this award “eludes” me after I post a list of all honorees which includes all prior presidents since its inception. But then that kind of petty snark is your trademark. It doesn’t have to be rational or relate to reality, it just has to be snotty.

To put it slightly differently, the fact is that Hitler and Trump were both given this title along with dozens of others, making any effort to link the two ridiculous and stupid (which is what YOU did) because of the list of other honorees and I was the one who pointed it out. You then scurry out of your little rathole to try to cover for yourself by whimpering that well, what you were really snarling at was your invention of an alleged motive for what I wrote. (I keep telling you that the voices in your head make you sound even more stupid, but you just won’t listen to me….)

Then you lie about what D’Souza said. The premise of the film was that dozens if not hundreds of people illegally dumped thousands of illegal ballots in unsupervised drop boxes. That was the premise. It was proved. It was documented on extensive videos. It was admitted by a Democrat “activist”. The belief that geolocation services had accurately identified some of those people based on cell phone data was not the “premise”, it was merely a supporting element. The premise stands proven with or without technical support for identifying all of the mules by their cell phone signals. Your reckless disregard for even trying to appear rational always amazes me, as you just charge in braying one stupid lie after another, advertising either ignorance or simple dishonesty. Or both. Hint: Don’t use words if you don’t know what they mean. This just adds to the vast body of knowledge of your lack of intelligence.

You always raise the question “Is he really that stupid or just that big a liar?” and the response here is always that the two are not only not mutually exclusive, they appear to be simultaneously true.

And I keep saying it and saying it and saying it and nobody agrees with me: lies are not – and cannot be – 1A protected. The Duke case, in the grand scheme of things, is small but it is part of the avalanche of lies killing our society. Why did she lie? Because she felt certain that she wouldn’t get in trouble for the lie. If nothing else had happened – if the boys hadn’t got into any trouble at all – she still should be in jail just for the lie.

Lies kill. It is lies that created two assassination attempts against Trump – with a man killed. It was lies that got the CEO of United Health killed. It is lies that caused the BLM riots. Lies and lies and lies and more lies…and lives are destroyed and lives taken because of them and our freedoms are eroded as we let lies flourish.

Everyone will eventually have to agree with me that lies are not 1A protected or our civilization will collapse.

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona December 13, 2024 / 1:14 pm

While I agree with your premise its execution makes me nervous—an Orwellian Ministry of Truth. We are already swamped by the Orwellian “misinformation” meme and Thought Police.

And it is already against the law to lie to law enforcement.

No, the power of lies lies in the ability to make the lies part of the national consciousness. and the best way to fight that is to have a louder, stronger, more coherent voice that immediately identifies the lies for what they are. As most of the lies are disseminated via what is called the “Mainstream Media” we need our own arm of this public arena.

If I had Elon Musk’s money I would buy a network station—-NBC is supposedly going on the block, and Disney has talked about dumping ABC—-and I would have a nightly segment called “The Lie Of The Day”. What Snopes pretends to be, but in a video format, addressing very bluntly the most egregious lies of the day, in detail. And I would have an hour-long documentary once a month about “What We Know That Is Not True” that addresses the reality of the various claims that the Left has used to stir up controversy and conflict. If the death of a young man in Laramie, Wyoming is going to receive national attention it should be based on the facts—not the Leftist narrative that he was a shy young man confused about his sexual identity and maybe a little awkward in approaching men who was targeted for his evident homosexuality and beaten and left to die by heartless homophobic cowboys offended by his clumsy overtures, but a long-time street hustler doing gay trade as well as a drug dealer who was killed by a friend and fellow hustler/drug dealer after he stole or lost about $10,000 in drugs. He was made into a icon and hero and the basis for a huge narrative about the cruelties and viciousness of “anti-gay” sentiment and actions, when he was really a gay prostitute killed by another gay hustler over a drug deal that had nothing to do with his being gay and everything to do with him being a drug dealer and crook.

If you know that a lie is going to be investigated and outed as a lie on a national stage, you are going to be more hesitant about lying.

      • Mark Noonan's avatar Mark Noonan December 13, 2024 / 3:23 pm

I do think that having a genuine news outfit – not even Rightwing, just honest – would be a huge blow against the Culture of Lies…but I still don’t think it would be enough. I concede that I might be on the wrong track here and further concede that it is high risk…but lies are so prevalent and so corrosive that something has to be done to really hit back at them. To make lying, itself, something that gets punished.

The first step has to be undoing Sullivan – the absolutely absurd Supreme Court ruling that for a published lie to be actionable is has to be both conscious and motivated by malice. As I noted before, that ruling was made so that King’s people could lie with impunity about their opponents. It passed pretty much unchallenged because, well, those Southern crackers had it coming, right?

But that’s wrong – maybe the Southern crackers had earned a lot of hate, but that didn’t make them non-citizens…non-humans as a matter of fact. The Court should have ruled, right then, that lies are not protected speech.

As also noted before, lies didn’t just suddenly start – in any political system, lies flow thick and fast. But what is different, now, is that the news media is the liar…and they are able to be liars because there is no real risk in lying. Once again, thanks to Sullivan, you have to both prove they knew it was a lie and that they had malice in their minds when they published the lie (how in heck can anyone prove such a thing?). We must get back to a position where if you publish a lie, you lose…and lose badly. Very, very painful result. Otherwise, no matter how much truth we put out, we’ll still be buried in lies.

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona December 14, 2024 / 10:34 am

I don’t know if Sullivan was the beginning of the Thought Police movement in American jurisprudence, but it certainly plays a role. While there are times when motive should play a role, such as the motive to restrain rather than kill as one example, basing any law on anything as nebulous as “motivated by malice” is as stupid as the beloved “hate crimes” discrimination in law where motive is attributed to a perpetrator based on the protected status of the victim, elevating the seriousness of the crime.

As I have said, my white brother could be chatting with a black convenience store clerk when an amped-up skinhead comes in to rob the place and starts randomly shooting, killing my brother and the clerk. According to the Left, the crime of shooting the black man would be more serious than that of shooting my brother, thereby deeming one life more valuable than the other, and also attributing racial motivation to the shooter. The black clerk could be light-skinned and not obviously black, but his racial profile would automatically assign him the elevated level of importance and change the nature of the charges filed against the shooter by invoking the Thought Crime element.

The reforms we need in our system go all the way back to the acceptance of attributed motive. Some motive is relevant—“Did you intend to shoot him?” and even “Did you intend to kill him?” “Was it purposeful or an accident?” Beyond that, motive is irrelevant.

Crystal Mangum, a former exotic dancer who in 2006 accused three Duke University lacrosse players of raping her, acknowledged for the first time in a new interview that she made up the accusations.

Mangum had said in 2006 that the players—David Evans, Collin Finnerty, and Reade Seligmann—raped her in a house near Duke’s campus during a team party at which she performed.

“They took me into my home … and they trusted me, that I wouldn’t betray their trust. And I testified falsely against them by saying that they raped me when they didn’t, and that was wrong,” Mangum said on a podcast episode released on Dec. 11.

We rarely hear about someone in the entertainment industry moving out of a left-wing country and seeking somewhere more conservative, but Irish-born British comedy writer Graham Linehan announced that he is moving to the U.S. because the UK is too restrictive on free speech.

In a broadcast on X, Linehan told his followers that he is moving to Arizona to form a production company with Rob Schneider, Andrew Doyle (the genius behind Titania McGrath), and Martin Gourlay of GB News. He announced:

I am happy to announce that I’ve written three episodes of a new sitcom which we’ll be hoping to shoot in the next year. And to that end, I’m going to be leaving the UK and we’ll be moving to Arizona where I will be setting up a production company with Andrew Doyle and Martin Gourlay and Rob Schneider. We have an idea for a sitcom that I think is pretty damn good.

The premise is strong. It’s not anti-woke comedy, which I think many people would be expecting, because I think that’s going to be as dead an end as the woke movement itself is because all of this nonsense is going to seem out of date in a couple of years.

Linehan is the mind behind one of my favorite British shows of all time, “The IT Crowd.”

As a fan of British humor, some of which is admittedly kind of an acquired taste, I watched some snippets of “The IT Crowd” and it is hilarious and on my radar for a deep dive into all seasons and episodes.

    • Amazona's avatar Amazona December 13, 2024 / 10:39 pm

I was even prompted to look up “Titania McGrath” and found this description: The fictional Titania Gethsemane McGrath is a 24-year-old “radical intersectionalist poet committed to feminism, social justice and armed peaceful protest” who identifies as non-binary, “polyracial” and ecosexual”. Now I’m going to have to get into social media to follow this character, who got an MA in gender studies, for which she wrote “a groundbreaking dissertation on technopaganism and the corrosive nature of cis-masculine futurity”. There is just something wonderful about British parody. As the Wikipedia article says, commenters have suggested… that McGrath, much like (Jonathan Swift’s) Bickerstaff, was created to criticise those with views the creator disagrees with in a manner which they feel he would be reluctant to state without anonymity. Such an elegant way to remind us of the consequences of the loss of free speech.

Andrew Doyle, the creator of McGrath, revealed to The Daily Telegraph that she is named after Titania, the queen of the fairies from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as he believes that “all of this ‘woke culture’ is an utter fantasy world”. He added: “The people who promote this hyper inclusive culture are fantasists […] so I think it’s quite appropriate that she is named after the queen of the fairies.”

“Her” Twitter posts baffle a lot of people who take them seriously and don’t recognize that this is satire and they are the targets of her wit, such as her post that “Americans have betrayed democracy by voting the wrong way”.

And this is the kind of thing that Lib hysterics would be likely to believe:

I’m running a couple of days behind with my new girl friend (my great-granddaughter’s description) visiting from California. From a couple of days ago – Jeff Childers commenting on Christopher Wray’s stepping down as FBI director rather than wait for Trump to fire him:

Wray is arguably the most destructive and deplorable FBI Director in history. He will be remembered for setting the nation ablaze with his multiple unjust investigations of a sitting and then former president, his targeting of orthodox Catholics as domestic terrorists, his political persecutions of January 6th rally attendees, his rounding up of peaceful pro-life protestors, his involvement in the Russia-Gate scandal, his harassment of stay-at-home moms for complaining to school boards, his election interference by bullying social media to conceal the Hunter Biden laptop story, and his bonkers, off-the-charts, poorly considered campaign to bully social media into censoring Americans’ legal speech. (emphasis – mine)

Meanwhile, under Wray’s watch, fentanyl traffic increased exponentially, and thousands of American lives were and are being ruined through addiction. Chinese spying is off the charts. Human trafficking inside the U.S. reached all-time highs. Venezuelan gangs are occupying entire apartment complexes. And that is just getting started.

The Director’s “selfless” resignation announcement came one day after the release of an Investigator General report revealing the FBI’s illegal spying on Kash Patel, who ironically is Trump’s nominee to replace Wray, along with many other political targets. Wray is also the target of multiple Congressional investigations. Maybe he’d hoped for a helpful change in political control in January. If so, he was disappointed.

      LOL!

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona December 15, 2024 / 11:31 am

Yes, and Trump was just temporarily separating them from the adults they were with so interviewers could make sure the kids were actually with their parents or legal guardians and not being trafficked. This, however, was offensive to the Left, which evidently preferred to enable the practice of showing up at the border with some child, acquired somehow, to satisfy Obama’s “Bring a Kid, Get in Free” policy, even when the child would most likely be dumped or sold after serving its purpose. It was hard to find articles on the thousands of abandoned street children in border cities, because of the Left’s crackdown on this kind of reporting, but locals knew of the problem.

So under the Trump administration children were temporarily separated from the adults they accompanied, and put in safe and welcoming environments with beds for naps, with food and with toys, and allowed to play in secure fenced areas with exactly the same kind of fencing around nearly every playground in every school in every state in the country. And after it was established that the children were not being kidnaped or trafficked they were reunited with their parents. The level of Leftist outrage at this policy was off the charts, equaled only by their dishonesty,

So we had AOC, in her white costume, posturing grief as she bowed under the weight of her pain in front of a chain link fence around a parking lot. There were no children on the other side of that fence, but this is how crippled with angst she WOULD have been, if there WERE any children around. And we had a crying toddler. She happened to be standing right next to her mother, but the Left usually cropped the mom out of the picture, so they could pretend this was a reaction to being RIPPED FROM HER MOTHER’S ARMS !!!!!!! (I had guests over Thanksgiving with their nearly-three-year old, and we had the same reaction when the luck of the draw in the popsicle box came up with the wrong color. Toddlers melt down over anything.)
