Take a moment to study this picture:

The modern Left loathes it – they see it as genocidal conquest. But it wasn’t that at all – it was the spread of civilization. The night of Barbarism flees before the light of Progress. The pioneer, the sodbuster, the railroad and, at last, the city. A new world is born and it is better for everyone…even the Barbarians if they give up their old and savage ways.
I bring this up because in the wake of taking out Maduro, plenty are saying “oh, its just for oil”. It isn’t just for oil. But even if it was – even if we said the only thing we want to do is physically take ownership of Venezuela’s oil reserves – this is not a bad thing…because the reason we would do so is to efficiently extract cheap and abundant energy to be placed on the open market so that the whole world – and most especially the poor – can benefit from it. Our ownership of the oil is a boon to the world…the Venezuelan government’s ownership of it is a boon to the leaders of Venezuela and a select group of Russian, Chinese and Iranian oligarchs. It is said that Venezuela sits atop the world’s largest oil reserves – even more than Saudi Arabia. This is worth, I am told, something like thirteen trillion dollars…and as long as the Maduro regime was in place, the people of Venezuela were going to keep rooting in garbage cans for scraps while the Ruling Class lived in palaces. It was unjust for that regime to continue to hold that asset – just as it was unjust for a small number of savages to hold the asset which eventually became the United States of America.
It is way past time we ditched the whole anti-West charade…this stupid concept of the Noble Savage. This idea that putting a city where a howling wilderness once stood is a bad thing. It is all so very stupid – proved stupid by the fact that not one person who rants and raves about the settlement of the USA is willing to assume a 1492 lifestyle. It is this concept that underlays all the other stupid concepts – like the idea that because a Third World dictator shouts “death to America” he has a point…or some concern for the well being of his people. Maduro could have made his people very wealthy…he could have tapped into the vast wealth of Venezuela and made sure that the profits from oil and gas extraction were used to increase the overall wealth of Venezuela. It wasn’t hard. The damned oil is there, plenty of people with knowledge and expertise were ready and willing to get it out of the ground and on to the market…but if Maduro had made the people of Venezuela wealthy, then he wouldn’t have remained in charge. It is as simple as that – like Lenin, Stalin, Castro and so many others, he knew that the only thing keeping him in charge was an impoverished people held down by well paid goon squads. Any alteration of this dynamic and out they go. Maduro and his cronies are not Venezuelan patriots…they only care about themselves.
And I, for one, and just darned tired of playing a stupid game…It is only now, in the 21st century, that some governments are starting to arise in Latin America that are based upon a patriotic desire for the people to do well – Argentina and El Salvador leading the way here. You think about Argentina – independence since 1810, a large (1 million square miles) country with vast natural resources and an educated population of mostly European origin…basically the same ingredients the USA has but until Milei got into office in 2023, not one government of Argentina had ever really cared about Argentinians, as such. Just various factions fighting for control via violence and voter fraud…causing a nation which should be at least as rich as the USA to still be poor here in 2026. Good to keep in mind when thinking about Latin America is that independence didn’t come from a vast, popular uprising against Spanish rule but because a tiny, Liberal elite felt that with Napoleon’s occupation of Spain in 1808, they had a chance to take over. Such a start was not conducive to the development of the sort of patriotism which makes for a successful nation…it has slowly developed over time and is now strong enough that it is forcing Latin American governments to become real governments rather than collections of opportunists seeking their chance to loot the treasury.
And you’ll notice that the genuine patriots have no problem with us – even if they disagree with us. I expect that patriots from another country will argue vigorously with me…but I also expect mutual respect. And we’re getting it…because that is the way forward. To make the deal. Sign the treaty. Do what is best by our respective peoples while also giving reasonable concessions to our foreign partners. Yet another chance for us to stop playing a stupid game – Milei is a man we can work with. A Maduro is a man to be whacked at the earliest opportunity…so, too, the leaders of Mexico, Columbia, Cuba and Nicaragua. They aren’t patriots – they are factions, usually these days in cahoots with Cartels when not owned outright by them. When they say “death to America” they aren’t saying anything at all…they are just playing a game which allows them to keep stealing. I saw a talking head on TV who was asked what she thought about Mexico’s “President” condemning Trump…she correctly answered that she didn’t give a darn what the so-called President of Mexico said…because she’s not really the President. She was installed by various criminal means to be a facade for a cowardly and corrupt Ruling Class. We here in the USA might have to deal with her for practical reasons…but for goodness sake, don’t think of her as a Mexican patriot…she’s barely retained a shred of humanity at the moment. We hope for her repentance but we need to keep in mind what we’re dealing with.
Back on that wagon train, my friends…back on the path of bringing civilization to the world, and whacking the barbarians at the earliest opportunity. Because civilization is good.
Many tears of joy from the heartfelt thanks of the Venezuelan people for Trump’s success in capturing Maduro, and giving them their long-awaited freedom. 🙏🏻
Good job, Mr. President, Air Force and Marines!
Since Biden’s State Department offered a $25 million reward for the capture of Maduro, should they make the check out to Trump? Asking for a friend.
This is not new, but it is still funny—even more so considering the source
“,,,even if we said the only thing we want to do is physically take ownership of Venezuela’s oil reserves – this is not a bad thing…“
What is conveniently forgotten is that the oil companies “stolen” by the U.S. were owned by American companies and “nationalized” (stolen) by Maduro. They are merely being returned to their rightful owners.
As for the way the oil business works, with companies investing billions to extract the oil and paying the owners of the land for the ability to do so, I suggest watching the opening scene of “Landman” in which Tommy Norris explains it to a cartel thug.
It’s one of several Tommy Norris monologues which are all on-target as well as fun to watch. (My favorite is the one where he explains to a local sheriff that he reported a stolen airplane to the Airplane Police and also gives a lesson on how the cow eats the cabbage in the West Texas oil patch.)
My grandfather was an oilman – doing pretty much what Landman was doing…that is, after you have the rights, you put together the deal that allows you to actually install the wells and start pumping oil. Grandpa said the most important thing is the rights…once you’ve got that, all else will fall into place because oil is a necessity…and huge. It was big in the 1920’s and it is just bigger here in the 2020’s. In the realm of cheap power, it is King and it’ll be a long while before anything displaces it (fusion plus super conductors if we can ever figure out fusion). At the end of the day, nobody is going to let any gangster or corrupt local government stop it from happening. Things will happen to those who stand in the way. For grandpa, it was apparently his mobster friends who were the trump card…don’t get me wrong, grandpa was as honest as the day is long, but he was also of the Vito Corleone view, “it doesn’t matter to me what a man does for a living”…he kept it all compartmentalized, and so did they. Grandpa was just signing up investors…and if those investors somewhere back there were able to smooth over objections, who was he to complain? The oil had to flow…and everyone with an actual stake in it got paid.
I kinda like this scene. Give a perspective that few understand.
Awesome – they really don’t understand anything. The vast, complex world of real work which makes sure that when you turn a faucet, open a fridge or get into a car there is water, food and locomotion is entirely outside their understanding. They really do take it for granted – forgetting Will Durant’s dictum that Civilization rides along on the swaying back of the peasant…the men and women who get dirty to get things done. And it is very much why everything is all screwed up – all laws and customs, all sacrifices and compromises are supposed to be directed towards making life as easy as possible for the farmer, rancher, miner and worker…because if they can’t get the job done, nothing gets done and it all falls apart. The USSR really displayed the folly of the city intellectual class…a nation which was at last rising to genuine economic power in 1917 was taken over by the girl who hasn’t the sense to step back from a rattler.
And he didn’t even get into the environmental damage of cement. Each wind turbine requires a huge amount of concrete for its base. In general, the footings are 9 feet thick and 60 feet in diameter, and require 30 to 40 truckloads of concrete, or about 300 cubic yards.
I loved it when she said “You didn’t have to kill it” and I noticed that Tommy didn’t bury the head, which is what you have to do because anything that steps on even a fragment of a tooth can be poisoned.
(Conoco Philips, in their big oil field SE of Denver, which is dry High Prairie habitat, actually had to capture and tag every rattlesnake on the property, and they track them. If one is killed there is an investigation, and everyone working on the property has to take a class on how to handle a confrontation with one, which emphasize that they should not be killed.
I also read that ER treatments for rattlesnake bites show about 99% of women treated were bit on the ankle or lower leg, while about 99% of men were bit on the hand or lower arm. There is speculation that alcohol might be involved, though testosterone is also implicated.)
Still laughing!
A comment that echoes my belief that a key component of Leftism is the smug assumption of being entitled to the Higher Moral Ground merely by stating a “position” and the subsequent virtue signaling that accompanies this. That is why this comment resonated with me:
“performative narcissism” What a good description of it all, from the sign-waving to the p**y hats to the Cybertruck vandalism, that’s all it is. They can do something hateful and/or stupid (or, on the Right, “courageous”) and then, without even a nod to the inherent hypocrisy, strut “LOOK AT WHAT A GOOD PERSON I AM. Look at me! Aren’t I good? Aren’t I special?”
IMO that stems from their lack of belief in God. We believers cannot shout our virtue – because we know we are unworthy. What we try to do – haltingly and with many failures – is the right thing. Quietly. Because the good deed done in the public eye isn’t really a good deed…we don’t want out biography to say we helped the poor…we just want to help the poor where and when we can.
The thing is, these people don’t DO good deeds. They declare their support for good deeds to be done by others, using OPM, and the mere declaration of being FOR these good deeds, or their outcome, is sufficient to support their conviction of moral superiority.
On the fifth anniversary of the “coup” that never tried to overthrow the government, the “insurrection” that never even hinted at a desire to assume the powers of the government, my routine question surfaces again.
That is, “qui bono”? Who benefits?
Stepping outside the noise machine surrounding January 6, we should ask some questions. The first, and most important is this: What would have been the outcome if the Trump supporters had succeeded in their stated goal?
No one ever asks this question. The rabid flying monkeys of the Left want us to think that if the protesters had succeeded, the entire government would have fallen, members of Congress would have been rounded up and summarily executed, the entire 2020 election would have been negated, and Trump would have automatically ascended to the throne of a new tyranny, assuming all the powers of the government.
You see, when we look at each shrill accusation and walk it back to what it appears to represent, this is what we get. And that is an absolutely absurd litany of outcomes, patently bogus to anyone looking at it.
Some breathless Congressional Lefty snowflakes eagerly recounted the terror they felt as they huddled in fear of…..well, fear anyway. Fear of unstated threats and imagined horrors, which is, when we think of it, the usual state of Leftists anyway. (Poor AOC was permanently traumatized by the sheer terror and fear for her life —her very life!!—she experienced—in a completely separate building blocks from the unrest. Such is the awesome power of even an emanation of a penumbra of an imaginary attack on Congress!)
Then there is claim that the goal of the protest was to “OVERTHROW THE GOVERNMENT !!!!” —a goal never stated, but so inflammatory it has to be created to fan the hysteria of the Left, so we constantly heard it asserted. Well, no we didn’t. What we constantly heard was the shrill claim that the event was an “insurrection”—and the definition of an insurrection is an effort to overthrow the government and assume its powers.
So when the howling Left squealed in unison that the riots were AN INSURRECTION it was a de facto claim that the rioters had the goal of overthrowing the government and assuming its powers, without ever having to back up the assertion of the overthrowing-the-government thing because it was just implied through the lie of the event being an “insurrection”. (It was safe to use this inflammatory word, though, because the Dem base is either too ignorant to know what “insurrection” really means or too blinded by irrational tribal hysteria to care. But they do love tossing around words they think makes them look smart.)
So…back to the question of what would have happened if the crowd had been successful in achieving its actual, stated, goal. In that scenario, Ted Cruz’s speech to Congress would not have been pre-empted by the carefully constructed chaos going on outside the building and Congress might have acted like people who care about honest elections and agreed to postpone final certification of the alleged vote counts from the various states for a mere ten days, to allow more time to look into allegations of possible fraud. (Because that is what the protestors asked for.)
And this takes us back to the original question of “qui bono”? Who would have benefited by this? More to the point, I think, is who would have been damaged by this? Who would have benefited by a successful protest and who did benefit by the successful reframing of the protests, aided by infiltrators and agitators and the Complicit Agenda Media?
(1) Congress took advantage of the chaos to “certify” blatantly uncertifiable votes, in the face of many credible accusations of many frauds.
(2) The Left had a weapon with which to intimidate Trump supporters, as people guilty of nothing more than strolling through the Capital after guards invited them in to take selfies with those guards were rounded up, prosecuted for what amounted to “felony sightseeing” and many were denied even the most basic of Constitutional rights as they were held without trial, sometimes in solitary confinement, while being financially and professionally ruined.
(3) The Left, led by RINO and political whore LIz Cheney, had an excuse to mount yet another PR-focused bogus “impeachment hearing” of Trump but really intended to further attack and intimidate Trump supporters.
It’s interesting to see what surfaces when the clutter and noise of the Left’s incessant howling about J6 is muted and we can calmly dissect the event and address the question of “qui bono?” It’s a pretty good question to get to the heart of most conflicts.
Yep – and all the people wanted was a fair count. Here in 2026 only the veriest simpleton or liar can say 2020 was clean. The amount of fraud was massive – vastly more than enough to swing the election. My view remains what it was back then – Democrats had cheated with the 2016 result in mind and then as the election day vote came in realized they hadn’t cheated nearly enough…and so went into overdrive. Stopping the count in the deep blue areas and just stuffing gigantic numbers of ballots into the system. In the immediate aftermath, getting judge after judge to rule that Trump had no standing…none of the evidence was looked at, and then swiftly destroyed. They were determined to get him out. All Pence had to do was to say, very reasonably, that there were so many questions about the vote count in the crucial States that no fair determination could be made about the winners…it was then either up to these States, per their Constitutional power, to appoint Electors via Legislative action, or have the Presidency decided in the House. This was to merely to follow the Constitution which is totally adequate to the needs of a contested election result. Pence making such a statement would have forced the issue…and we would have got a final result which nobody could contest on Constitutional grounds. It was far more likely that this would have resulted in Biden than Trump…but the Ruling Class wanted a Trump defeat, not a Constitutional result. So, they simply steamrollered it through and worked up a phony riot to blame Trump on.
This was supposed to finish him…but Trump showed that the man with courage will triumph if he just holds firm.
And while we are revisiting the malignant distortions of the January 6 effort to exercise our Constitutional right to petition the government for redress of wrongs, we should take a look at what happened hard on the heels of this government-created “crisis”—the government-created panic of Covid.
From the article:
Look at the list of “crimes” identified by about half of the Left: refusing to inject an experimental drug, and/or merely QUESTIONING the safety or efficacy of the drug. These were considered to be such heretical acts against the primacy of the Left that 47-59% of Dems wanted to impose the Draconian measures of fines, house arrest, sentencing to prison camps or actual prison time, and government surveillance.
(These are the same people who don’t think thieves, rapists or people who violate our immigration laws should be prosecuted, jailed, or deported, none of which evidently fail to rise to the level of thought or speech crimes.)
This clip indicates NC turning red. I suspect with Bidum’s FEMA turning their back on NC during their last hurricane crisis, a lot of people are seeing reality rather than spoon fed crap. Make no mistake, the left will try anything to game the elections, at any level. With Trump in office and a strong administration in place, they are turning over all kinds of stones. Also, the blue money spigots and theft are turning dry. I can’t remember in any time during recent history where the right is joining together, exposing the atrocities of leftist policies. There are still too many RINO’s willing to gum up the gears but if the direction indicated by this video hold true then even those politicians will go by the wayside.
I’ve been complaining for years that the Right’s lack of skill in messaging is what has been holding us back. We now have some great ideas handed to us. Take NC for example and the way the Biden administration bungled the hurricane response so badly. We need a campaign there highlighting the inability/refusal of the government to start fixing roads and bridges juxtaposed with photos of civilians showing up with their own equipment to rebuild roads, with the message of what happens when we have “rugged individualism” instead of depending on what we can only hope will be “the warmth of collectivism”—so how did the collectivist mentality of the Left do in North Carolina, guys? Want some more a that?
(You know how conservatives handle disasters like this? They go out and fix them! Look at how long it took DeSantis to get traffic flowing again on the destroyed Pine Island Causeway.
“Florida completed repairs on the Pine Island Bridge on Thursday, just three days after construction efforts began in the wake of Hurricane Ian.
Pine Island was one of two major barrier islands to be cut off from mainland Florida after Hurricane Ian destroyed causeways and bridges in the area. Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis unveiled drone footage showings trucks crossing over the repaired bridge on Thursday.
“Construction on the Pine Island bridge has been completed today – just three days after construction began,” DeSantis wrote. ”
How long were North Carolina residents cut off from supplies, living in tents as winter closed in and told they could get a massive $750 from FEMA for “disaster relief”—but they had to apply online, from an area with no electricity or even houses.
Then there’s the rest of the FEMA debacle, the Perfect Storm of incompetence mixed with government discrimination against citizens in crisis based on politics.
Just as we now look back on the Great Election Heist of 2020 as a benefit in disguise, we may look at Mandami and his proclamations the same way. As in, “Thanks for the material”.
Happy Ashli Babbit day!!!
