Voters Oppose Obamacare, Taxpayer-Funded Abortions

Just as Democrats bribed their way to get the 60 votes needed to bring Obamacare to a vote in the Senate, a new poll by Quinnipiac finds Americans overwhelming disapprove of the plan, and more than 70% oppose using taxpayer dollars to fund abortions.

As the Senate prepares to vote on health care reform, American voters “mostly disapprove” of the plan 53 – 36 percent and disapprove 56 – 38 percent of President Barack Obama’s handling of the health care issue, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Voters also oppose 72 – 23 percent using any public money in the health care overhaul to pay for abortions, the independent Quinnipiac University poll finds.

And how about Independent voters? They ain’t buying the plan either.

Looking at the health care plan, independent voters “mostly disapprove” 58 – 30 percent, as do Republicans 83 – 10 percent. Democrats “mostly approve” 64 – 22 percent.

The situation only gets worse for Obama. Obama’s handling of the economy gets bad marks as well, even as Obama claims that this health care bill will reduce the deficit.

American voters also disapprove 51 – 44 percent of President Obama’s handling of the economy and disapprove 56 – 37 percent of the way he is creating jobs. But voters favor 52 – 42 percent his plan to use $200 billion left over from the bank bailout for a new stimulus package to create jobs rather than to reduce the budget deficit.

Only 31 percent of voters say Obama’s policies will help their personal financial situation, while 37 percent say his policies will hurt and 30 percent say his policies will make no difference. Among voters in households where someone has lost a job in the last year, 37 percent say Obama policies will help them personally, while 37 percent say they will hurt.

I guess the people aren’t buying Obama’s b.s. about the bill deficit-reducing nature. Of course, no thinking person would.

Rudy Won't Run for U.S. Senate

That’s the word at the moment. Very disappointing since polls showed him defeating Gillibrand,

I know there are some who believe that since Rudy is “a RINO,” or “not a true conservative” then this news is good news. While I totally agree that it is important and vital to support conservative candidates, if people in the Tea Party movement would rather have Kirsten Gillibrand in the U.S. Senate than Rudy Giuliani, then the Tea Party movement is doing more harm than good. While I would fully support Rudy for the U.S. Senate, I would not (and did not) support him running for president.

Not all victories have to look the same. Every election doesn’t have to be about electing 100% conservative candidates. Some victories must mean booting out the pawns of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, If electing Rudy Giuliani would mean Harry Reid would have one less vote to support the radical left-wing agenda of Barack Obama, that’s still a victory for liberty.

Blogroll and Other Stuff

Just a couple quick announcements…

As of this moment, I have processed all blogroll requests… I was behind about 12 months, so that was no easy task. All blogs that are still active and met all other requirements were added. It is possible i missed one or two here and there, so if you sent a request, and don’t see yourself in the blogroll, please resubmit.

I’d also like to direct everyone’s attention to the Local Issues page. Blogs For Victory is starting to syndicate conservative blogs that focus on state politics. Content is published in full, but if you’d like to comment, you must visit the source. As of now, we have blogs covering Massachusetts, Western New York, South Carolina, and Washington State. If you have a local politics blog and would like to be considered for syndication, feel free to send us a request at blogsforvictory+local@gmail.com.

That’s pretty much it.

Obama's Economic Advisors Clueless About Economy

On one hand, you have an economic advisor of Obama’s saying “everybody agrees that the recession is over,” and on the other hand you have another saying “Of course not.”

These people are clearly clueless, and are just saying what they think sounds the best at the moment. Remember, these are probably the same people that told Obama that the stimulus would keep the unemployment rate below 8% and that Cash-For-Clunkers was a good idea.

The only thing Obama has to show for his economic policy is double-digit unemployment. When his own advisors are definitively stating opposite conclusions about the economy to the media, you know we’re in trouble. They don’t know what’s going on and they clearly don’t know how to solve the problem.

Obama Grades Himself: B+

Have you ever heard anything so ridiculous?

Obama, in an interview that aired Sunday, gave himself “a good solid B-plus” grade for his first year in office.

Speaking with fellow Chicagoan Oprah Winfrey, the president claimed progress on economic and international fronts.

Obama said the only thing that stands in the way of giving himself a better grade is the fact that some elements of his agenda — health care reform and putting more Americans to work — remain undone.

“The biggest burden on me right now is that economic growth has happened, but job growth has not happened,” Obama told Winfrey on the ABC special.

Now, let’s be serious now. Obama can’t honestly believe he deserve that grade, even by left wing standards.

Let’s just consider the following.

  • Several of his nominees have had to withdraw due to tax problems.
  • Giitmo will not be closed in the timetable he promised.
  • Unemployment has gone up to double-digits despite his promise the stimulus would keep it below 8%
  • Despite majorities in both Houses of Congress, he can’t get his health care plan passed
  • His approval ratings have declined at a historically fast rate, and are below 50% with Rasmussen and Gallup.
  • Republicans won governorships in New Jersey and Virginia, two states Obama won last year.

Okay, I could go on… but you get the idea… Obama has been destroying the economy, his image, and his party. I can’t possibly explain how he thinks he deserve a B+ as a grade.

John Hawkins lists 20 other historic B+’s Like Obama’s. Sister Toldjah calls it denial.Alex Conant notes Obama’s self-grade is lower than the family goal.

So, let’s put it to you guys… what grade would you give Obama for his first year?

44 Percent of Voters Say "Bring Back Bush"

According to Public Policy Polling, 44 percent of voters would rather have George W. Bush back as president, while those who prefer having Obama has dropped to 50 percent.

What does this suggest?

Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that’s somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country’s difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited. The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore, which is good news generally for Republicans and especially ones like Rob Portman who are running for office and have close ties to the former President.

Given the disaster of the past year, almost anyone would be better than Obama, but definitely count me as a voter who would very much rather have Bush back in office.

I imagine it won’t be long before a majority of voters join me.

As Obama makes the masses appreciate President Bush, consider donating to the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
