The Frightening Attacks on American Liberty

I’ve been pondering all the scandals – adding to or expanding on those of which originated in Obama’s first term, as detailed in 150 Reasons (you really should pick it up, in light of the latest revelations) – and I have felt a deep chill come over my American heart.  There is a fundamental flaw here – a deep chasm has now opened between those like myself and those who, after these recent revelations, will continue to back President Obama.

The final straw has been the story of the Obama Administration’s pursuit of Fox News correspondent James Rosen – when coupled with the investigation of the Associated Press and the rampant abuse of power by the IRS, what we have here is an Administration which (a) does not care about the law, (b) is willing to act routinely in an un-American manner and (c) views its political opponents as worthy targets for criminal investigations.  Furthermore, even slavish devotion to Obama (as routinely carried out by the Associated Press) is no defense: as in tyrannies past, all you need do to destroy years of being a toady is just once step out of line.

Of course, to set the record entirely straight, this isn’t all just Obama.  For more than a century, now, we’ve had Presidents willing to cut constitutional corners.  Indeed, the first Chief Executive to introduce extra-constitutional acts in to the Administration was Republican Theodore Roosevelt, honored to this day both on the left and the right as a great and good President – but it was Roosevelt who first asserted that unless the Constitution specifically forbade a government act, it was legitimate.  This stands in stark contrast to, say, Grover Cleveland, Andrew Jackson and other, earlier Presidents who had, at times, vetoed legislation not because they thought the law wrong, but because they found no warrant for it in the Constitution.  From Teddy Roosevelt through Wilson to FDR to Nixon to Obama is a straight line – with plenty of others along the way since 1901 also playing fast and loose with the law (really, only Coolidge in the 20’s put a brake on such actions).  But there is a difference, now, in what Obama has done.

And once again setting the record entirely straight, there is a lot of similarity between Obama’s actions and Nixon’s in the early 70’s – especially in using the IRS as a bludgeon against opponents (there are also some strong indicators that Clinton used the IRS in a similar manner, though no where near the brazenness of Nixon and Obama).  But, still, even with the record of Nixon before us, Obama stands in a world apart – taking steps which are not just corrupt or illegal or corner-cutting, but in direct contravention of all that Americans have fought and bled for over more than two centuries.  The stories of IRS agents demanding what amounts of loyalty oaths from pro-lifers not to picket Planned Parenthood and demanding to know how conservatives pray are just disgusting – so horrific and un-American that I never imagined that someone sharing my citizenship could ever ask such things.  These attacks against freedom of speech and religion are joined with attacks on freedom of the press – with the Administration seeking to intimidate reporters in to silence (doubly strange given that 90% of reporters are devoted to Obama).  We have here an Administration which not only doesn’t like opposition (no Administration actually does, of course), but which is determined to stamp out dissent – determined, that is, that only Administration propaganda be allowed in America, all other voices silenced.

This is not – or, at least, should not be – a left/right issue.  This is about basic, American freedoms.  It is no business of government how I pray, whom I decide to picket or what news I choose to report or read.  There is no legitimate reason for government to even query me on such subjects as no such actions can in any way, shape or form risk the liberty and safety of the American people which our government was created to secure.  A thorough investigation needs to be conducted.  All those involved – whether as actual law-breakers or those who knew of it but didn’t report it – must be dismissed from further government employment.  Strict laws must be enacted prohibiting any such action in the future.  Permanent, non-partisan oversight must be established over all federal law enforcement agencies – over any agency which can take an American’s life, liberty or property, that is.

As a final thought – shame on us, fellow Americans.  We have sunk very low and our ancestors must be ashamed of us.  Those who died fighting for our liberty must be turning in their graves.  That it took such shocking actions to even partially wake us up is sad commentary on how used to government power we’ve become.  Our ancestors would have been outraged over all this a long time ago.  It is time to call a halt to this abuse of power – this tyrannical use of the federal government against dissenters.  It is time to restore the balance – with the scales massively weighted in favor of the liberty of the American people.

what we have is a party and it’s top man who are adherents of marx, a school system that is in shambles and nothing more than leftist indoctrination camps.
Almost 50% of the population who pay virtually no taxes.
12 million criminals who have broken our laws who are sucking hundreds of billions of OUR MONEY and throwing it down a rat hole.
Inner citys that look like and rival Somalia, and the sudan.

A man in the highest position who has NO qualifications but the backing of the chicago mob, unions, thugs, radical homosexuals, islamists. and is almost 100% likely to be constitutionally ineligible to hold the office.
A political party that encourages cheating, looting, division and hates the constitution of the US that is doing everything in its power to subvert it.

A tyrannical government that is at war with a large segment of it’s population and uses it’s police powers to cut down it’s enemies.
A government that has given one segment of the population permission to murder 55 million of it’s citizens while prosecuting another portion for the murder of same class citizens (scott peterson..etc).

We are a country who has largely lost our moral compass of Christianity, who is now bowing down to the golden calves of homosexuality, islam, radical marxism, radical feminism, and pure lawlessness…….look no further than OzerO’s home town in which he community agitated in and is run by one of his top capos.

What we are witnessing in the Obama regime is unprecedented, and that is an attempt to eliminate the opposition. I am over course not the one to originally theorize this, and many of you know who has been speaking on this issue, and it is true. Obama and his fellow travelers, which include most of the current Democratic Party, have no interest in winning in the arena of political ideology or in the arena of honest debate, they simply attempt to demonize, polarize and intimidate their opponents into silence. If you disagree with him, then it is not because you may have a valid opinion on a better path, it is because you are a racist, a hater, or a homophobe. If you oppose him, then it is not because you have a difference in policy, it is because you don’t like America, and are obstructing. Dare I say it, but it is very Hitleresque.

Take for example the current scandals. Obama, and the media, which are one in the same any more, are trying to convince us that any further investigation is tantamount to obstruction and over reach and preventing Obama from doing the “work of the people”. Even Rusty jumped on board with this meme yesterday. This despite the fact that new revelations are coming out everyday re: the IRS scandal and those revelations do not bode well at all for the regime. The same can be said for Benghazi which we are to believe that the whereabouts of Obama during a national crisis is “largely irrelevant”.

There is another scandal brewing that the media is ignoring and that is the illegal solicitation of funding for Obamacare by HHS Sec Sebellius. She is actively seeking contributions from CEOs of entities that she has regulatory control over. That is illegal, but evidently not with this regime who certainly consider themselves high, mighty and above the law.

As the saying goes – Houston, we have a problem.

      Cluster & JR,

I know you recall that we had a conversation, several in fact, in which we (all of us) discussed the particulars of the Patriot Act and if we should support it as it was presented. After reading the act, and reading what pundits had written we concluded that it seemed to pass constitutional scrutiny as we understood it and reluctantly felt we could support it.

Still ringing in my ears though, was the thought that we can trust the honest people in government to not abuse the power we ceded to them but what of the next guy? And what of his administration and his selections? Could we trust them with the same authority? Because, as written the Patriot Act offers no threat to the safety and security of Americans and our allies, and offers no comfort to those that mean to do us harm. However, new interpretations could result in abuse and there goes the international neighborhood.

I’m not suggesting in any way the PATRIOT Act has any bearing on the current scandals, but I am suggesting that should we allow these abuses to go unchallenged; without investigation, if we were to allow the government to “get away” with intimidation and silencing through the use of its massive power, how can we be assured that the next target isn’t us? We who are Christian, Jewish, atheist, conservative, liberal, black, white, brown, red or yellow, pacifists and war-mongers, small government advocates or car-tax opponents?

The IRS and the AP scandals should scare the hell out of Classic Liberals; they should be first in line demanding answers, but where are they? And how will they react when the next president decides his political enemies are them?

And Benghazi should outrage anyone that knows now that we are all expendable to these people. No one will ever again be assured that our government move heaven and earth to save us when evil-doers mean to do us harm owing to political expediency and blatant cowardice at the highest levels. No one serving America will ever again feel safe knowing their government won’t let them twist in the wind. Look that young Marine in the eye and tell him that he’s on his own, now and forever. Tell our emissaries that no-one will come to their aid once we’ve put them in harm’s way.

That, as well should outrage Classic Liberals. Where are they?

      Shameful!

      • bozo May 21, 2013 / 4:59 pm

The IRS “scandal” should be that Crossroads GPS WAS granted tax-exempt status as a “social welfare” group and not at all a big political front for billionaires. Anyone believe that’s true? Liberal groups were audited during the Bush years who spoke out against him. See the difference? No, you don’t. In this current “scandal” no one was AUDITED with the legal expense that goes with it, they were asked additional questions – and then given tax exempt status anyway. Same thing, right? No.

The Benghazi “scandal” ended when it came out that Stevens himself refused multiple offers for more security leading up to his death. Issa knew this, but continues to use the tragic deaths of good Americans at the hands of criminals for political gain. There’s no way to spin it, but you’ll try: http://www.military.com/daily-news/2013/05/15/official-amb-stevens-refused-additional-security.html

The press? I’ll support jailing Holder for spying on the press if you’ll jail Gonzales for spying on EVERYONE – remember – the guy who said “there is no express right to habeas corpus.” Deal?

        The outrage.

      • Count d'Haricots (@Count_dHaricots) May 21, 2013 / 5:14 pm

“The Benghazi “scandal” ended when it came out that Stevens himself refused multiple offers for more security leading up to his death.

        That’s a disgusting defense bozo.

Your contention is that the president refused to come to the Ambassador’s aid and allowed him to die because he refused security before he was attacked?

Is this the “I’ll show him” Defense?

If the price for refusing security at the embassy and not the consulate where he died was to make him suffer until death, what the hell was the doctored talking points punishment for? Not dying publicly enough?

      • Count d'Haricots (@Count_dHaricots) May 21, 2013 / 5:22 pm

in the current scandal no one was AUDITED with the legal expense that goes with it, they were asked additional questions – and then given tax exempt status anyway.

        That’s a bald-faced lie!

They were and are asked for multiple filings and ever increasing rounds of questions. It’s obvious you’ve never made such a filing, or ran any type of tax-exempt enterprise, so I’ll enlighten you. Each new filing has associated costs, running in some cases the the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Some of these groups had to hire lawyers to make the filings, and answer the intrusive questions. See: True the Vote’ founder Catherine Engelbrecht as just one example.

A large number of TEA, 9-12 and PATRIOT groups gave up and never got tax-exempt statue, many more are still waiting.

If you’re going to proffer the “Bush did it too” defense why not offer some proof? there is at this point no credible evidence that like-minded groups were singled out by the previous administration for extra scrutiny.

      • Count d'Haricots (@Count_dHaricots) May 21, 2013 / 5:27 pm

Another related cost to these intentional delays caused by IRS targeting are the lost opportunities for grants and funding streams directly related to the delays. Contributors don’t contribute if there is a cloud of IRS investigations hanging over a group.

Now, bozo, prove that you are a thinking liberal and answer with evidence or offer an opposing argument. We’re all waiting for a liberal response not muddied down with talking points or ad hominum. Prove that liberals can engage in debate; because I don’t believe you can.

Here’s your chance, all the trolls are depending on you to prove me wrong.

      • Count d'Haricots (@Count_dHaricots) May 21, 2013 / 5:35 pm

Gonzales said, “there is no express grant of habeas in the Constitution.”

If you want to debate the extention of habeas corpus to foreigners as the word “grant” implies from the question he was asked, I’ll be happy to join that argument, since habeas corpus in our Constitution was as English Common Law had intended it to be.

AND, there is nothing implied, intended or actionable in that statement that allows or condones “spying on everyone”.

Just one honest statement per post is all I ask of you. It’s not much; I know what I want, I’ve made it clear.

      • Count d'Haricots (@Count_dHaricots) May 21, 2013 / 6:06 pm

in the current scandal no one was AUDITED

How the frick does the IRS audit a group it hasn’t given tax-exempt status to

        Talk about Lo-Fo!

This is the Mother Jones argument that only works on stupid people.

      • M. Noonan May 21, 2013 / 9:41 pm

        Bozo,

I realize that liberal groups have tried to put out a whine about being audited during the Bush years, but the thing is that groups are audited on a regular basis and I’ll bet dollars to donuts that audits of liberal groups ’01-’09 were no more than normal. But the difference is this – before they even could get tax-exempt status, conservative groups were hit with burdensome and an-American demands from the IRS…clearly designed to tie them up in red tape, at the least, and convince them it wasn’t worth it, at the most. No liberal group can come up with anything like the questions which were asked of conservative groups.

But, congratulations, at least you have addressed the issue – fist liberal here to actually do that.

That said – take yourself at your own word: you are outraged that liberal groups were audited. Ok. Let’s pretend it was the same thing – and now lets all get on side and demand an end to such practices.

        You in?

I realize folks like Rusty, Mitche and Watson just rationalize away the recent revelations in order to be able to continue to support this administration. I have two questions for them: assuming Obama and his cronies survive everything that’s coming down on them, what do you see being accomplished during his second term; and at what point do you admit you were wrong — when they come after you?

    • mitchethekid May 21, 2013 / 10:32 am

I am not worried about a government agency coming after me. What irritates me is the obstruction and duplicity that emanates from the right so with that in mind, it is difficult to predict just what will be accomplished in the next 3.5 yrs. It’s amazing; in light of all of this obstruction that anything has been accomplished at all. The right would rather let the house burn down so they can blame the Fire Chief. The hysteria over these serious issues (IRS, reporters, Benghazi) exceeds their import (and they are important) but the opportunistic exploitation of them is already backfiring. Citizens United allowed the IRS to investigate tax fraud. It just happens that these groups had a prevalence of being Tea Party affiliated. The Fox reporter being investigated was suspected of leaking national security issues. If you want to find the precedence that allowed these sort of warrantless investigations, familiarize yourself with the Patriot Act and Dick Cheney.
The right does itself no favors by tolerating the incessant apoplexy of those who wail about Chicago, Kenya, Marx, gays, etc. The folks who make these unsubstantiated, wild eyed claims are buffoons and are dismissed out of hand by the general public. Unfortunately, these cretins comprise much of the base of the Republican party and in an effort to cling to power by being re-elected, the politicians cater to them either through silence, or echoing the same.
It remains to be seen if any of these circumstances were criminal. What Richard Nixon did was criminal and he operated the activity out of the oval office. There is no evidence that Obama is guilty of any criminal activity but I encourage the Republicans to keep looking instead of governing. They have no intention of doing what they were elected to do. Their sole purpose is to force a square peg into a round hole. Geometry be dammed. I cannot remember a time when being obstinate was glorified and valued, not as a matter of sticking to principle, but as a tactic of aggression fueled by irrationality.
In the long run the country will move forward and prosper and the folks who are doing everything they can to prevent the future from happening will either die off, be dismissed or both.
And no JR, this is not a rationalization. It is an accurate description of how things are.

  4. Count d'Haricots (@Count_dHaricots) May 21, 2013 / 10:58 am

..mitche has no interest in winning in the arena of political ideology or in the arena of honest debate, they simply attempt to demonize, polarize and intimidate their opponents into silence.

    And along comes;

After, of course he crapped out his usual highly ill-informed and unsolicited opinion about conservatives, legislative process and Citizens United. What a complete ass this man is.

Cluster, you can’t debate these people, they have no interest in debate. You can’t deal with them and leave their mental scat as examples of liberal psychosis that was evident before they started. And you can’t ignore them and hope they’ll wither and die from lack of response, they answer each other (and themselves) reinforcing an ever expanding circle of lies, misdirection, bile and hate until all conversation degenerates into obscenity or rages of self-pity. I had hoped my “conversation” with these trolls yesterday would have proven for good and for all that it is not of any benefit at all to allow these examples of liberal-contrariwise to post here.

They serve only to disrupt what might be a fruitful conversation that attracts conservatives-libertarians-classic liberal and moderates with no political point-of-view. If you keep feeding the trolls you end up with what we’ve seen in the past few days; a waste of bandwidth.

I wish the moderators would listen to reason and dump the lot of them.

      Aaaaamen!

    • dbschmidt May 21, 2013 / 12:29 pm

      Count, et.al.,

That is the primary reason I quit responding. Ill informed is being too kind for most of these folks with the latest about Benghazi being irrelevant because it was such a short battle there was nothing anyone could do. That is so “low information” it makes my jaw drop.

Unless there have been major changes in combat since I served–there were and are no “time limits” with regard to engagements. They want us to buy the story that the folks (who were relied up over a YouTube video) must have called ahead and told the “diplomatic outpost” that they would attack spontaneously for no more than 2.5 hours, then we will all take a break for several hours (for tea of course) and resume fighting for another couple of hours before we all retire for the night to get some rest before going campaigning in the morning.

The rest of the irrelevant stories are just about as believable as that piece of work. Trouble for this administration is coming down the pike as their people try to stonewall and obfuscate the issues but the truth will be known one day. It will not be pretty for this administration or the people in it.

It is either that or no one knew anything about their jobs.

      • Count d'Haricots (@Count_dHaricots) May 21, 2013 / 1:06 pm

        db,

That these cowards didn’t allow any action to take place to attempt a rescue of our men and women in harm’s way speaks volumes. That these dung-beetles would consistently follow the Administration cowards, rolling Obama’s $hit into little balls to be buried as “irrelevant” speaks to the dis-ingeniousness and lack of seriousness of today’s liberal, not to mention the void of basic human empathy.

Previous administrations responded with all dispatch to threats, attacks and acts of terror; these cowards can’t even call it what it is, preferring pleasant euphemisms like workplace violence and man-caused disasters. How can we be surprised that at the first hint of danger they scurry like rats to the safety of their bed-chambers and then play linguistic gymnastics to diminish the sacrifice made at their alter.

From your Eagle Globe Anchor perspective, what is our military should we no longer believe in no man left behind?

    • M. Noonan May 21, 2013 / 1:10 pm

We definitely need a better quality of liberal – there just isn’t anything to even hold on to; one doesn’t dare debate them on what they say because that is just to play their game, which is to debate non-issues while the crucial issues are un-addressed.

      • Count d'Haricots (@Count_dHaricots) May 21, 2013 / 1:28 pm

But how do you find a “better quality of liberal” when every one of them here has demonstrated an inability to keep an open mind and debate substance Mark? It seems to be that being a liberal is the very definition of a lack of critical thinking skills.

Emotion rather than reason; reaction rather than solutions, and spasm rather than re-join.

Better to have spirited debates with libertarians and Classical Liberals; these trolls aren’t up to the task.

There’s an old saying among lawyers that also applies to liberals:

When you’re wrong on the facts, argue the law. When you’re wrong on the law, argue the facts. When you’re wrong on both, you pound the table.

Mark, as to your point. issues are fine and dandy, the problem is that you come at everything from a religious point of view and that makes it hard to discuss issues because YOU don’t have an open mind.

If the law is against you, argue the facts.

I don’t recall which of these morons was offering as proof that “if you “Google” so-and-so you’ll get ten-thousand hits that all agree with me.” That’s the power of the guileless; repeat the lie often enough, a reasonable person cannot avoid it.

I, for one have had enough of them.

  5. mitchethekid May 21, 2013 / 4:07 pm

When The Count says open mind, what’s really meant is to agree. All any of us know, is what is presented by and through media. For the sake of discussion, let’s narrow it down to news media. For example, Fox News and other right wing outlets claim Benghazi was a coverup, they question the Presidents place of birth and religion, etc. Insane people who have access to a microphone, like Donald Trump, Joe Arpaio and Orly Taitz claim they have proof the President wasn’t born in the United States. They never offer any factual evidence, it’s that people who have a desire to think the same take it as an article of faith and then claim counter evidence; which is factual, is suspect or a “lie”.
And then you turn around and claim that someone like myself, who deals in facts is somehow a paid provocateur. It is beyond silly. There is no desire for debate or discussion or conversation on this blog and there never has been. It was started as an online temple of worship for GWB. Anyone who posed questions or pointed out obvious factual inaccuracies was instantly attacked so all this talk about how it’s impossible to have a discussion with someone who doesn’t blindly, unquestioningly follow the ideology here is a joke. Not one of you is capable of it. And then you claim that “liberals” (whatever that’s supposed to mean) are purely emotion driven. It seems to me that the reactionary responses and juvenile put downs are just that. I mean come on, is talking about how a goat smells supposed to be the epitome of intellectualism? Is it supposed to be so overwhelming shameful as to drive someone to suicide? The problem with living in a bubble is sooner or later they burst. When you rely on false information from dubious sources and then claim them as irrefutable fact, the worst reaction is to become defensive about it.
The truly ironic aspect about this blog is it’s claim to being conservative. Of the very few enlightened conservatives who still exist, i can’t think of one who is active in politics. If I were Neo for example, I’d be more concerned with my tenure here than the other way around. It is impossible to have any sort of conversation about the philosophy of politics or the events of the day when the consistent response are things so delusional and so vile that they would make a cesspool “regurgitate”. High minded dialog flows both ways and if you talk like a pig and act like a pig it’s a pretty good bet that your mind is a sty.
Every issue that comes up is responded to with irrelevant anecdotal distractions that prove absolutely nothing. Liberals wear saddle shoes, therefore this is evidence that they are cross-dressing Marxists. The broad-brush application of stereotypes should be equally embarrassing to you guys as well. All liberals are Atheists! The stock market is up, but lets not address that, lets put it down because it’s not 1913! Oh, and this one was really good, Romney won but he just didn’t get enough votes because people who didn’t vote, didn’t vote. Must not have been to important for those non-voting non-voters.
There is a line in Josey Wales that says “I think it’s them that owes us an apology”.
I’ll be waiting for mine. People get respect when they give it. Treat others as you would want to be treated and all that. If you really are interested in other peoples opinions and points of view then change your attitude. Be ingratiating, not hostile. It works.

mitchie: “how it’s impossible to have a discussion with someone who doesn’t blindly, unquestioningly follow the ideology here is a joke.”

Says the drone who believes obAMATEUR will leave us with a “nirvana” when he is finished.

mitchie: “It is impossible to have any sort of conversation about the philosophy of politics”

says the drone, who can’t even define his philosophy of politics. Several here have asked for it, have prodded him to reveal WHAT HE THINKS., but sadly (and predictably) he either refuses or CAN’T. He just dodges to another subject or whines about his treatment here.

mitchie: “Every issue that comes up is responded to with irrelevant anecdotal distractions that prove absolutely nothing.”

Says the drone who will deflect and dodge to any topic other than the topic of the thread.

mitchie you are a complete joke.

“There is a line in Josey Wales that says “I think it’s them that owes us an apology”.

Yep, you and your party will owe this country an apology for wasting 8 years. The only thing obAMATEUR has successfully done is drive up the cost of healthcare (he promised lower insurance but they have risen higher and faster than before) and spend more than Bush in less about half the time.

obAMATEUR assured us that we would have lower health care costs, lower premiums and be able to keep our doctors but sadly this is not the case. Question mitche, did obAMATEUR LIE? OF course to you he did not – nothing less but unquestionable and undying loyalty to an ideology (that you have no clue as to what it means).

Now, grow a spine and discuss the actual topics of this and any following thread rather than play your silly little games.

If she’s called to testify again, she’d better be ready.

White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer was peppered with questions about a trio of scandals on the Sunday shows this week, and his performance actually prompted pity from some members of the media. (“It’s abusive of Obama to send him on Sunday shows with no more to say than he had today,” tweeted Fox News’ Brit Hume.)

“He was spinning truth into lie, wasn’t he? He was like Baghdad Bob!” says Issa, who figured prominently in Pfeiffer’s responses. After it was revealed that senior Treasury Department officials knew about the IRS inspector general’s inquiry prior to the November election, Democrats have suggested that Issa knew, too.

OHHH!! I get it now! “Leftists” know nothing about earning. One, I am not a leftist and you embarrass yourself by stereotyping me and two, I am very well familiar with the concept. This supposition of yours; earning respect, applies to you as well. Tell me Tired, what have YOU done to earn MY respect??

      • tiredoflibbs May 21, 2013 / 6:17 pm

mitchie: “One, I am not a leftist ”

Says the drone who believes that a fellow leftist politician will give us “nirvana”.

Stereotyping? Hardly, as I have been saying and you don’t seem to get the meaning. When you mindlessly regurgitate the leftist dumbed down talking points you are a leftist. You haven’t regurgitated any else.

mitchie: ““Leftists” know nothing about earning.”

They don’t. They hold out their hand and expect it to be filled and obAMATEUR and his fellow looters are only too eager to fill them to buy their vote.

“Tell me Tired, what have YOU done to earn MY respect??”

I don’t want your respect. I don’t lie awake at night wonder why mitchie doesn’t respect me. Unlike you, I EARN respect from my colleagues, acquaintances and friends with my actions and accomplishments. If I present myself as some cowardly mindless leftist drone then I get what I deserve.

        No worries here.

I agree he has. Even denny has a history of doing the same. At least denny had the intestinal fortitude to admit that he would not criticize obAMATEUR in this forum even though obAMATEUR invaded Libya with no threat of attack something denny was against.

Mitchie is too much of a coward to engage and his desperation to deflect the topic of the thread is his usual tactic.

I know when I have succeeded when you lose what little control you have to prevent your mindless rantings. I noticed you did not refute anything as usual.

obAMATEUR did invade Libya for what reason? Hmmmmm??? Were they a threat? Nope. Were they about to attack us? Nope. You do remember the dumbed down talking points when it came to criticizing Bush on Iraq – “they weren’t a threat”…. “they did not attack us”. Of course you do.

So which is it? You and your pathetic ilk give obAMATEUR a pass on Libya. At least denny had the guts to admit he wouldn’t criticize obAMATEUR here. You on the other hand are cowardly as ever.

Again, you don’t give me any reasons to change my description of you. You play right into my hands and continue to behave as I have accurately detailed.

Poor mitchie can’t EARN any respect from anyone due to his pathetic rantings.

mitchie spins away: “No US troops on the ground in Libya.”

So? obAMATEUR (name is so accurate) invaded a country that was not a threat or attacked us. The most used dumbed down talking about Iraq. Facts are facts. But “no boots on the ground” is another LIE and mindlessly regurgitated by faithful drones:
        http://www.chicagonow.com/publius-forum/2011/03/2200-marines-go-to-libya-what-happened-to-no-boots-on-the-ground/

        So? So was Hussein.

        Mitchie: “Guts. Guts. Guts.”

For what? For starting an illegal and UNCONSTITUTIONAL war without the approval of Congress (something Bush had for Iraq)?

Unemotional debate with you? You are the one that has gone into spitting and sputtering fits of rage – two posts above prove it.

Prove you wrong? I did easily.

  9. Cluster May 21, 2013 / 8:19 pm

I see it has been an interesting day at B4V while I was at an all day seminar, sadly though I didn’t miss much, save for a few excellent Count retorts. I gotta tell you though guys, all we do is hurl insults at each other and it really gets boring.

James, was it really necessary to just single out Count and say that you “hate” him? You don’t even know him. Why not just put in a post why you think the Rosen investigation is warranted and why these current scandals are over blown (assuming that’s what you think of course). And the reason we ARE wanting to discuss “issues” rather than ideology in this thread, is because this thread is about a single issue. What we as conservatives chide liberals about on ideology is that liberals are for the most part incapable of separating the two. I will admit that you are one of the few liberals jowever that has expressed their ideology when you admitted that you believe in an all powerful central government and would do away with states rights and the constitution. To that I will give you credit, although I couldn’t disagree with you more.

Lets try this at B4V ok, just for fun. How about if we all take the next few articles and simply express our thoughts and beliefs based on the topic of thread sans any pretext of the other side being racist reprobates, or Muslim Marxists, or being offended by what anyone else said. Lets just see if that’s actually possible.

    • Count d'Haricots (@Count_dHaricots) May 21, 2013 / 8:43 pm

Right Cluster, just shift your eyes upward a bit and see mitche engaged in expressing his thoughts and beliefs in his usual calm and rational manner.

      Charming ain’t he?

Maybe we should just give him just One – More – Chance ?

You can if you want to, I’m done with him, and all the rest of the trolls. .

      • Cluster May 21, 2013 / 8:51 pm

I am done with all the insulting. I am also done with reading mindless talking points, and obfuscation. I am only interested in reading sincere comments, whether that be from the left or the right on the issue at hand. I don’t disagree that 99% of what we get from our leftists is obfuscation but I won’t let that effect my day, my attitude, or my posts. Only worry about what you can control.

      • Count d'Haricots (@Count_dHaricots) May 21, 2013 / 9:02 pm

IMO the only way to deal with these those not interested in discussion is to send them packing. We’ve tried ignoring them, we’ve tried deleting their posts, we’ve tried engaging them and we’ve tried rolling in the mud with them.

You and I can chat on email with the others and debate fine points of interest to all of us; the only way to have that and expand the conversation to include others is to free ourselves from those that prevent that; you know who they are, you know what they do, you know everything I’m telling you is true.

You want the brightest minds back? Send the weakest minds away.

      • Count d'Haricots (@Count_dHaricots) May 21, 2013 / 9:04 pm

  10. Cluster May 21, 2013 / 8:47 pm

New revelations on the IRS scandal:

On May 3, 2012. Nancy Marks gave what IRS officials described as a “presentation” to Steven Miller describing her findings. Marks said the investigation had found significant problems in the review process and a substantial bias against conservative group, Ahmad said. No written findings were produced as a result, the aide said, and it does not appear the internal review led to any disciplinary actions against IRS employees. It would take more than a year, and an orchestrated question at an American Bar Association meeting, to bring the matter to light.

Got that? It took over a year for this unlawful and egregious activity to come to light. And to date, no disciplinary actions have been taken, save for the dismissal of a “interim” figure head. The question remains – what political culture dominated the IRS so that this activity was initiated in the first place, took over a year to surface, and has been met with little, if any, disciplinary action?

    • neocon01 May 21, 2013 / 10:26 pm
