I’d like to see #PopAColdOne trending on Twitter by the time they vote tomorrow. I saw that a group of GOPers showed up at Cocaine Mitch’s house this morning to drink PBR in favor of Kavanaugh. And I have floated the idea of having a National Kegger for Liberty in DC at some future date.

Jokes aside, it is still a bit up in the air. I do rate Kavanaugh’s chances as very good, but we’ve got a day for the left to go to work on the squishes. I doubt they’ll move Manchin because a vote for Kavanaugh is crucial to his re-election chances. But they still could find two GOPers willing to knife us in the back on this. We’ll just have to wait and see. But, come what may, the GOP is on fire over this – and, maybe, a Kavanaugh defeat would just energize the base even more. GOP fundraising has skyrocketed since this began, Trump hit 50% in Rasmussen and one generic ballot shows that the Democrat advantage among women has dropped from +22 to +1 (which, given polling bias, works out to the GOP having a polling advantage). The Democrats may have only awakened a sleeping giant.

Getting into the details of the mess, we’re starting to see the outlines of how it was created…and that those who did so might have placed themselves in legal jeopardy. Democrats have been acting over the past two years as if the levers of power weren’t in our hands. I think they are about to have a rude awakening.

The Chinese appear to have inserted a hacker chip into phones and computers shipped to the United States. This surprises no one with any sense, at all. Of course they’ll do that. They are a totalitarian dictatorship and nothing happens in China without the government being involved…and it would have been insane of the Chinese government to not avail themselves of this fantastic opportunity to spy on all of us with ease. There is no doubt in my mind that every phone and computer manufactured in China can be accessed immediately by the Chinese government at will. And this is likely just the one we caught – they are sure to have installed backup hacks in case one fails. I’ve been saying it for years: do not trade with tyrannical regimes. Do not have relations with them. All you do is weaken yourself when you do.

I’m going to wait for the votes over a couple election cycles, but there are some indications that African-Americans are questioning their long time support for the Democrat Party. I’ve always said it will happen – but I thought we’d have to do far more for it to occur. But, you know, maybe massively improving prospects combined with clear attempt by white liberals to tell black people how they have to think are doing the thing for us?

I’ve also predicted this for a number of years. If you closed your eyes you could almost see the invisible white robes and pointed hats the Democrat members of the Judiciary Committee were wearing. If black support for Democrats drops from 90+% to 80% (or lower), the Donkeys are toast.

As, by far, most of the men wrongfully convicted of rape are black, I can’t see this effort of the Democrats doing other than backfiring in the African-American community. It may take a while – old habits die hard – but I perceive a steady shift at least towards political independence in the black community.

Amazona, the Zero Hedge piece sounds plausible, but as you know, I’ve gotten on a spy novel kick in the last year or two. Heck, you got me started with the Brad Taylor/Pike Logan series. Between those books, David Baldaci’s Will Roby series, Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp series and Brad Thor’s Scott Harveth series, my brain is so conflicted between reality and fiction that nothing would surprise me anymore. And in reality, there is so much misinformation/disinformation in the public realm that i’ts almost impossible to discern truth from fiction. And I also don’t think that’s by accident.

Senator Collins just finished laying out a brilliant case for why she’s going to vote in favor of Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t drag a couple Dems across the finish line as well. My respect for Senator Collins just took an astronomical leap.

I’ll put in that what is called “mind control” is just another phrase for “Big Lie”.

Over the past few days, I’ve had discussions with a Conservative Twitter friend – he’s convinced we’re toast. And, of course, we might be…but his belief is based on the fact that, still, the MSM is a gigantic, DNC-controlled propaganda machine. There’s no doubt it is, but I don’t think it’s reach is near wide enough to matter anymore. I haven’t been able to find it, but I seem to recall that old Walter Cronkite would get 50 and 60 million Americans watching his show, night after night…and that in a population only 2/3rds as large as our current population. From what I can find these days, the total nightly viewership of the major network news is about 6 million…not even 2% of the American population. Add in the Cables, and maybe it goes to 7 or 8 million. They just can’t command opinion like they used to. The only reason this Kavanaugh thing happened like this is because a few GOPers went along with it…probably the few GOPers left who think the MSM is the voice of America. If our side would just relentlessly ignore whatever it is the MSM is harping on – save, like Trump, to play off it to make our larger points – then we’d get a lot more done, faster.

This is why they are going after non-left voices on Social Media…because if they can get rid of those, then even though the MSM’s reach is now small, Social Media will merely be awash with rephrased MSM talking points. The MSM will just be the clearing house where everyone on the left can easily find out what they’re supposed to say on any given subject. And that is why I’m firmly on the side, now, of regulating and/or breaking up the big Tech companies…there must be so many of them that it becomes functionally impossible for the left to leverage their control over a few CEO’s into a nation-wide ban on non-left thought.

      • Amazona October 5, 2018 / 8:18 pm

If you don’t believe in mind control, how can you explain the fact that we have 49 Democrat Senators?

      • M. Noonan October 5, 2018 / 9:27 pm

That is hard to explain without it…

I do hope the Dems double down and continue to ratchet up the vile rhetoric and unhinged behavior. The whooshing noise you hear is decent, rational normal Americans abandoning Democrats in droves. The only way Democrats are going to abandon their reprehensible tactics is to pay a steep price for doing so.

Just heard on MSNBC from one of the mindless progressive “reporters” – “the Democrats have a long list of investigations they want to open should they win back the House”

So no real agenda to help the country, just a “long list of investigations” ……… The Democrat Party has become the Banana Republic Party

    • Amazona October 6, 2018 / 2:41 pm

But the list of investigations they want to block is a lot longer……

“… his belief is based on the fact that, still, the MSM is a gigantic, DNC-controlled propaganda machine.”

Yeah, but Trump has not only proven that it can be beaten, but shown exactly how it can be. (By standing tough and not giving in.) As you point out, one problem the MSM faces is that it’s news shows are simply not watched by a large percentage of the population anymore. And if they keep banishing conservatives from Twitter, Twitter will become more and more irrelevant, because conservatives will go elsewhere. The MSM isn’t persuading anyone but an increasingly shrinking crazy left. That means their influence is shrinking.

But there’s another interesting development that dooms the corrupt MSM. All the sexual harassment stuff that was supposed to take down Trump has failed, except it is taking down major MSM players, like Les Moonvies at CBS and the head of 60 minutes. The jerks controlling MSM propaganda for the last few decades aren’t motivated by principals. They’re motivated by corruption and power. And power not only means money, but also lots of sex toys on the side. And covering up those sex toys on the side helps keep everyone corrupt and in the game. Unfortunately, it’s going to be harder and hard to keep all that in the darkness.

So what happens to your average corrupt Alpha male when he learns that stepping into the MSM mind control business no longer provides him with access to a harem? What happens when the boys club disappears and he has to not only have a trophy liberal wife, but actually must stay faithful to her or lose his job in a scandal. How is he going to like being ordered around by Human Resources who tell him he can’t have a hot secretary who takes care of his primal needs? And what’s the payoff for rich investors who want to buy their way into Hollywood and media if it isn’t a steady stream of willing bimbos? Sex/corruption work hand in hand. If the MSM can’t keep their own secrets, what do they have to offer top corrupt players?

While what happened to Kavanaugh is disgusting, it’s becoming clear that for every conservative attacked on the issue, there have to be at least a dozen liberal human sacrifices. Trump hit a really great point about Al Franken. He went down fast. More will go down even faster, because so many liberals are complete fakes surrounded by crazies who will rat them out in a second. The fire liberals started will burn down their own house a lot faster than the neighborhood.

    • M. Noonan October 6, 2018 / 5:09 pm

That is a bit nail on the head – all straight men, of course, appreciate a pretty woman. But most of us also balance that “wow, she’s hot” against our common sense. It just ain’t worth wrecking our whole lives just for that, as it were. But over there on the left, it does appear that getting a lot of sexual favors is a big draw…because as long as you mouth the right words about feminism and, especially, abortion, your sexual sins are forgiven. Yeah, I know that #MeToo has brought down a few major liberals, but does anyone think they’ll really keep allowing that to happen? They’re already circling the wagons around Ellison…and they still cling to Menendez. And, of course, Bill is still a Democrat hero.

What has really astonished me is how the women of the left have put up with it – maybe I don’t know enough women, but the women I do know simply wouldn’t tolerate either the demands for sex, nor the overt threat to their career if they don’t lay down for it.

Women, like men, come in all ethical varieties. There are plenty (if a minority) who are more concerned with power and status than living an honest life. Like Hillary, and Harvey Weinstein’s wives, some are willing to cover up for their husbands infidelity if it furthers their status. The problem is, if no cover up is possible, they lose their status and simply become toxic enablers. The liberal establishment isn’t capable of coverup if “all women are to be believed.” Bimbos have too much to gain by exposing powerful men.

It’s really all about hypocrisy. The liberal elites aren’t willing to publicly admit they don’t care about exploitation of women, or that free love (at least for hetrosexuals) isn’t better than marriage. They want it both ways. The wives want respect, even as their husbands run around. But as more and more powerful men get exposed, respect won’t be coming. Corruption only works if large numbers of people aren’t aware of it.

The vast majority of liberal women want it both ways. They want to be sexually free until they are ready to settle down and get married, but they want successful husbands who will give up their own freedom. In other words, they want husbands who act like good Christian men and put morals over immediate pleasure, but who somehow came to that conclusion without a Christian upbringing. Hard to find that kind of guy. So many settle for a guy who will fake it in public.

Trump certainly has not been faithful to his wives, and isn’t a good role model for how men should treat women. But he’s been extremely (perhaps too) honest about it. So even those who object to his morals, at least know he is what he says he is. So they can believe him when he says he’s going to do the things that matter as a President. Like keeping the country safe, rebuilding the military and the economy.

A liberal candidate (man or woman) who constantly lies about their marriage and pretends to be concerned about women being exploited sexually, can’t be trusted at all. If they can’t be honest about the most basic aspect of their life, why would we believe they are going to live up to their campaign promises? Especially if one of those promises is to “empower” women?

The big selling point to many men of the 60’s cultural revolution was “free love.” If you take that away from liberal hetrosexuals, what exactly are you offering them? (Certainly not a loving wife who cooks and takes care of the children while putting her husband first.) The conservative side at least offers some libertarian ideals of staying out of people’s personal lives. (And presumption of innocence to men wrongly accused of rape after a consenting booty call.) So Christian men have plenty of reason to support the right, but it’s becoming clearer and clearer that all those “free love” hetrosexuals on the left are in grave danger by the feminist thought police. I suspect in the long run, they will turn on the left rather than give up their lifestyles.

In any case, it’s going to be harder and harder for them to exist in the MSM, let alone rise to power in it. Look at what happened Matt Lauer and Charlie Rose. And I’m not sure how much influence the media will have over the general public if all they have are Rachael Maddow and Anderson Cooper clones.

The next step for the left to squish the conservative message is to gain control of the internet, hence the push for internet net neutrality. Though it was portrayed as a way to prevent the major internet providers from blocking, slowing down or even boosting selective content, it was really a foot in the door to control content.

” The oldest trick in the collectivist playbook is to create a problem through government regulations, let it stew for a while, and then propose even bigger government as the only possible solution to the “crisis” it planted, nourished, and harvested.

The left are very good at labeling things to seem valuable, reasonable and for the greater good, when most times what they put forth are things that provide them money, power and control. The Affordable Health Care Act and Economic Stimulus Package are just 2 of the many examples that comes to mind. Thankfully, the Net Neutrality Act was rescinded but don’t expect it to remain that way if the Democrats gain control of any of the 3 wings of government. They will do anything they can to stifle the message of their opponents, and they are always 10 steps down the road working on the next scheme.

The Internet has proved to be the downfall of the Left, or at least is leading to it. Back to when it took internet detectives only minutes to prove the National Guard documents to be forgeries, the ability for people to share information in real time means the Left can’t control the narrative any more. We have seen Drudge and Brietbart literally change the dynamics of political power, and sites and forums like this one giving people the chance to talk out ideas and share concepts in ways that could not be done before without people physically meeting in the same place.

The Left is flooding sites like this one with trolls and bots. We decided a long time ago that if a Leftist added nothing but nonsense and accusations and repetitive claims he would not be allowed to post, but sites without that policy have been overwhelmed with troll droppings, all posting from the same scripts. But there can’t be enough of them to make a difference, and they end up only convincing each other.

    Good article ……

……..most Americans are good people – generous and forgiving, honest and hardworking, earnest and dutiful. What we saw in the behavior of the Democrats, both on the committee and around the edges, was the opposite of everything we have been proud of as a nation. The Democratic adherence to these leftist directives, these ancient pagan mandates, proved to be too ugly to countenance. No doubt, decent Democrats all over the nation looked in that national mirror and were as horrified as the rest of us were. The voting booth is the only way we have to wash that venomous taste from our mouths.

Yeah, I don’t think the disgust and contempt for the Kavanaugh clown show hearings is limited to the right side of the aisle. Less than a month to find out for sure.

Hi y’all. Been a while since I posted here. What an ordeal this all was. Very glad it’s over and the good guys won.

Speaking to your last points, Spook and Cluster, as you may remember I’m a reformed lib who voter R for the first time in 2016 and not only do I feel that decision has been constantly vindicated since then, witnessing how low the Left can slink over the past few weeks has steeled my resolve in a big way. Republicans are simply standing up for the values that have always been important to me: due process, the presumption of innocence, and the rights of the accused in the face of allegations that are impossible to disprove. In addition, whenever you have a howling, irrational mob calling for blood you’re likely to find me on the other side of it.

I can’t wait to vote in Nov.

      • Retired Spook October 7, 2018 / 5:16 pm

Good to see you again Rusty. We DID win a significant battle this past week, one that will tilt the playing field in future battles, but the war is far from over.

      • Cluster October 8, 2018 / 7:47 am

Good to hear from you Rusty…… don’t be a stranger. I want to hear your view point more than most because of the journey you’ve taken …..

I still think it’s extremely ironic that it took a brash NY Democrat billionaire to show conservatives how to fight back and win.

    Let this sink in:

The New York Times on Saturday evening published an op-ed titled “White Women, Come Get Your People.” The op-ed’s author, Alexis Grenell, attacked Republican women who supported Kavanaugh as “gender traitors” in league with the “patriarchy.”

Grenell claimed that “white women benefit from patriarchy by trading on their whiteness to monopolize resources for mutual gain.”

White women “are expected to support the patriarchy by marrying within their racial group, reproducing whiteness and even minimizing violence against their own bodies,” the liberal writer asserted.

There is a lot of garbage in that woman’s head.
