Its Hard to Write on One Topic Open Thread

I honestly keep trying to find a subject to write at length about, but I usually find ten. So, lots of open threads. And today is no different:

A judge cut loose an illegal immigrant, preventing that illegal from being arrested by ICE. The judge has now been indicted:

This is huge — a lunatic hack state judge is indicted and charged with cutting loose a twice-deported Dominican illegal immigrant arrested with drugs after throwing an ICE agent out of her courtroom so that the criminal could escape.

For what appears to be the first time, someone in a “sanctuary” jurisdiction has to answer for the coddling of these illegal immigrants who are perpetrating a massive tidal wave of crime on the law-abiding, taxpaying citizens of the United States

We need more of this – if the Democrats want to go all neo-Confederate about federal laws, then we’ll have to become increasingly Shermanesque in dealing with them.

Joe Biden announced for President – third time will not be the charm. Naturally, he started out by repeating the “fine people on both sides” lie the Democrats have peddled about the Charlottsville incident. Don’t think any liberal will complain about the lie: they believe it. I’ve got a friend who is convinced he heard Trump, live, say that the “fine people” included the neo-Nazis. A cursory reading of the transcript shows he didn’t…but once the Democrats decide on a lie, they’ll never move away from it. In the end, Trump won’t beat Biden because there’s no way the Democrats will permit an old, straight white man to be their nominee in 2020.

We found Biden’s campaign song.

A German parenting magazine opines that blonde, happy families are evil incarnate. You know, I’ve run across the “blood and soil” neo-Nazi nitwits on a regular basis on social media: this is exactly the red meat they need to convince people to join them. If you want to convince such people that there isn’t a war on white people then just maybe you shouldn’t have a war on white people. Just spitballin’ here.

We’re used to this – but here’s how the MSM took the Trump Administration’s efforts to protect women in war zones and turned it into a “Trump wants women raped” story. They do this all the time – take a story and simply make up an anti-Trump angle, no matter how divorced from reality. This is why I say that any story in the MSM about politics must be presumed to be a lie until confirmed by a non-MSM source. (HT: Ace)

From RSM: Guy gets arrested for assaulting his wife. SJW do-gooder group bails guy out. Guy goes home and murders his wife. To be fair, I do understand the desire to be merciful: it is crucial to a functioning society that we have a gigantic amount of mercy towards those who transgress. Partially because mercy, as such, is good but, also, because the authorities do make mistakes. But, everyone makes mistakes. And if a guy is in jail under serious charges, its probably not wise to rush in and spring him from jail. The job of criminal justice reformers is not to get people out of jail, but to ensure that the accused receive justice – if we are doing justice, then there’s no reason for anyone to complain.

Powerline on how the left is using teaching history to, well, ensure that the kids learn no history, at all.

I have never seen the times as wicked and evil as they are. I can’t imagine what this poor little boy went through before he died. Surely we must be nearing the end.

When I was young, I often heard or read biblical stories of societies that were awash in corruption and evil, like Sodom and Gomorrah. I also attended events like the outdoor theatrical production, The Hill Cumorah Pageant. This is a live annual week-long summer event put on by the Latter-Day Saints Church that takes place on a hill side near central NY featuring more than 700 cast members, 1,300 costumes, and a 10-level stage. It takes place in the evening and lasts a few hours, culminating with a risen Jesus Christ suspended high in the black night sky with bright light shining brilliantly against his white robe. The acts repeat with similar themes where a society disobeys God, the few who are loyal to his word are told to leave, then God destroys the rest, rinse & repeat every few hundred years. I wondered how people could be so blind to repeat the things that would ultimately destroy them and was glad that we did not live in such a society. Even as a young adult, I believed people were basically good, where those bent on evil would be caught or be forced into hiding the rest of their lives.

Fast forward to now. It’s almost dizzying just how fast and far we’ve come to tear God away from the center of our lives. Basic rules of decency, respect and responsibility are actively flaunted as worthless or even detrimental to a so called “forward society”. Even the mention of God is viewed in a negative light, much less following his rules. I am somewhat dumbfounded at just how far we’ve descended from the truth and light. You don’t even have to mention God in a conversation in when trying to discuss subjects dealing with basic right & wrong. It seems most anything that limits a person’s ability to “do whatever they want” or burdens them with any level of responsibility is “unfair” and not worthy of being followed. How do you even converse with someone who argues for blatantly idiotic and illogical ideas? With the multitude or horrific ideas flowing daily from our elected offices I wonder how we moved so swiftly to a state of damnation.

I thank God for not given up on us. I take heart knowing He will triumph. The only question I have is, how will the “correction”, that is sure to come, unfold and what it will mean to his faithful?

I no longer converse with such individuals, the same as I would not intentionally expose myself to a deadly disease. For me it was not a difficult task. Once I stopped allowing myself to be a verbal punching bag for those who hate what I believe, it just sort of happened. Of course I also live in a conservative area of northeast Indiana and attend a small country church whose mission is to “give glory to God, celebrate the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, serve him and serve each other.” If we don’t figure out a way to reverse course I can see a time in the not-to-distant future when people who don’t want to be persecuted for their beliefs will migrate to areas like mine where they can be left alone.

Spook, I meant to tell you that your grandkids are what’s right with this country and I am proud of my 3 kids as well who are all common sense conservatives. There is more right in this country than wrong, it’s just that the wrong people have the loudest voices.

Folks, this is a direct result of our media and their preferred political party:

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Even as their economy roared, more Americans were stressed, angry and worried last year than they have been at most points during the past decade. Asked about their feelings the previous day, the majority of Americans (55%) in 2018 said they had experienced stress during a lot of the day, nearly half (45%) said they felt worried a lot and more than one in five (22%) said they felt anger a lot.

Everyday the media sows discord in this country and everyday the Democrats are outraged over something. In terms of dividing this country, the Russians are amateurs when compared to our media. This is no way to live. Turn off the TV and the radio from time to time and stop and smell the roses.

The latest installment from the YCMTSU file. This is one way to combat climate change.

A woman has glued her breasts to the road outside the Goldman Sachs offices today as activists ramp up disruption on the final day of protests.

Or how about this one. NYC considering banning HOT DOGS and other processed meats over Climate Change.

As I repeatedly commented when Brits asked me for my opinion on the protesters in London, what better way to illustrate that you are a serious person than to glue yourself to a train car. I see that some loony has taken it a step further.

I’ve often wondered how Rod Rosenstein has managed to survive the last two years. Looks like he may actually be one of the good guys.

During an event in New York City, Thursday evening, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein shared his feelings about the special counsel’s Russia investigation, while throwing shade on critics, politicians, the media and the Obama administration.

Speaking at a dinner where he was honored by the Armenian Bar Association, Rosenstein defended his handling of the probe, recalling how he had promised to “do it right” during his Senate confirmation hearing and to “take it to the appropriate conclusion.”

“It’s not our job to render conclusive factual findings. We just decide whether it is appropriate to file criminal charges,” Rosenstein noted.

“‘You’re going to be in charge of this [Russia] investigation. I want you to look me in the eye and tell me that you’ll do it right, that you’ll take it to its conclusion and you’ll report [your results] to the American people,'” he said the senator told him.

Rosenstein agreed to the first two things the senator asked, but then explained, “I did not promise to report all results to the public, because grand jury investigations are ex parte proceedings. It is not our job to render conclusive factual findings. We just decide whether it is appropriate to file criminal charges.”

He said that there were “some critical decisions” about the investigation that had been made before he got there. “The previous administration,” he added, “chose not to publicize the full story about Russian computer hackers and social media trolls, and how they relate to a broader strategy to undermine America.” (emphasis – mine)

Rosenstein added that “the FBI disclosed classified evidence about the investigation to ranking legislators and their staffs, lawmakers and their staffers,” and then “someone selectively leaked details to the news media.”

Mark, I have looked for a transcript of Trump’s original comment about the riots in Charlottesville because I remember him saying something like “There are some good people out there”, not that there were “good people on both sides”. All I can find is his prepared speech a couple of days later.

Remember what it was like growing up as a teenager? If only they were that simple now. The world is really screwed up.

” There’s the on-going saga of Bella’s friend Jessica, who came out last year after she started dating Alexandra in another Year 9 class. Only Alexandra has since decided she’s now transgender and is living as a boy called Alex — who must only be referred to as ‘he’ — despite being a pupil at an all-girls school.

There were huge dramas when another classmate, Rebecca, confessed to Laura, who is in her math set, that she was sexually attracted to her. Laura, who used to present as a boy, angrily rejected her, saying she had jumped to the wrong conclusions, leaving Rebecca in tears. However, Laura has since decided she is gay after all, and the pair are now dating.”

This is another of the articles about the underlying truth of Russian meddling in the 2016 election. The truth is starting to trickle out, and Rosenstein’s letter will hopefully make that trickle more of a cascade.

    https://www.americanlibertyreport.com/articles/the-harsh-truth-russian-election-meddling-was-entirely-obamas-fault/

There is one thing in the article I would like to see clarified—it says there is proof that the DNC was hacked. The problem is, the passing of internal DNC documents to Assange has been clearly and repeatedly identified as the passing of information physically, manually, removed from the DNC and physically handed over from one person to another in a face to face meeting. My reading of the hysteria about alleged hacking was that this was an effort to use this theft of material, obviously by someone within the organization, to shift attention away from the true source by implying that it was really a dastardly deed done by the Russians, a narrative which tied in with the overall narrative of “Trump and Russia Stole The Election” and leading, inevitably, to the conclusion that the Dems were victims of this claim of a joint effort.

My perception was strengthened by the refusal of the DNC to allow the FBI to investigate the alleged hacking, not letting the agency have access to their server until it had been gone over by a hired gun company, after which I don’t think anything of real probative value could have been discovered. In fact, the FBI said that while there were some details pointing to Russia, they were so obvious and clumsy they had nothing in common with the sophisticated tactics usually used by Russian hackers, and there was always suspicion that these “clues” had been planted.

I am aware that I tend to see lies, machinations and manipulations of fact in everything the Left does, which might color my perceptions. But I am so often proven right……..

My concern here is that the Left is so successful in semantic infiltration, in getting certain words, phrases and beliefs inserted into the consciousness of the public that they are accepted, quoted and used even by people in opposition to the Left. As we keep saying, words have power, and if the DNC “hack” was really just a smoke screen, never proven, but we have conservative sources saying it happened and there is proof it happened, we become mouthpieces for the Left.

We just saw an example of this, in the Biden claim that Trump said (of the Charlottesville rioters) that there were “good people on both sides”. I will bet that distortion of what was said is now firmly established in the consciousness of most Americans.

It was foretold over 100 years ago in 1917 at Fatima, where the Blessed Mother ask for reparation of sins through prayer and sacrifice, that people should stop offending God, and for the Consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart. If Her requests were heeded, there would be peace. If not, Russia’s errors would spread throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions against the Church, the Holy Father to suffer much, famine, martyrdom of the good and the annihilation of various nations.

The fact that the church accepts these visits from the Blessed Mother to the children of Fatima as authentic, I find it utterly baffling that there has been no attempt to Consecrate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart. And true to Her words, Russia is spreading her errors throughout the world, war, famine, persecution, destruction, are all growing. That the offenses against God have increased and magnified leaves me with little encouragement that the world will not suffer even greater, much greater. The few who comment frequently on this blog have mentioned from time to time, they are glad they are in the later years of their life. I too feel this. But there’s a pain knowing that our children and grandchildren will be thrown in the mist of the misery that seems yet to come.

Still, I am not one to despair. God will triumph. He will continue working his miracles as he does every day. I much prefer to keep my eyes on the good, while still acknowledging that evil exists. Prayer and sacrifice seem like a small request for the promise of peace.

Regarding the story of the judge conspiring to obstruct justice (and come on, guys, you had to see this coming…) isn’t this a perfect example of the difference it would make if the oath of office were to be made binding, an employment contract that, if violated, would result in the loss of the position and its associated benefits?

Judges are so complacent, so convinced they are above the law and protected from any consequences, that they take their oaths of office to get into the seats of what they see (often accurately) as unlimited power to do whatever they want. The knowledge that a violation of the oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, and/or uphold the law, would destroy a career and its associated pension would have a chilling effect on this attitude. Simply knowing that any evidence of a violation would lead to an investigation, and any proof of a violation would lead to being removed from office and losing any pension or other benefits associated with it would make these power-mad activist judges stop and think before acting like this judge did.

Such a law would also involve other officials, such as governors, mayors, sheriffs and other law enforcement people. As a federal law, it could only apply to federal employees and officers, but I think the idea would be picked up by a lot of states.

All the fretting about how this would be administered, couldn’t it be abused, etc. is to my mind rather silly. Every single law on the books is open to abuse in administration and/or abuse. We can’t keep refusing to enact the good in pursuit of the perfect.

If you mention allowing school teachers to teach a different viewpoint in science, the Left wants to cut your head off and dismember your body.

If you allow a conservative speaker inside a university, the left burns the American flag, destroys property, hits people with foreign objects.

If you mention Donal Trump or wear a MAGA hat, the Left wants to cut your head off and dismember your body.

If you mention being pro-life the left wants to cut your head off and dismember your body.

If you mention being pro-marriage/family the left wants to cut your head off and dismember your body.

The left really is a very evil, dangerous group of people. They are a communist death cult. We are not even safe from them in our place of worship. We are not safe from them at our ball games. Very evil times we live.

We must be prepared to give up our lives in defense of freedom because freedom demands a fight. If we don’t fight, then freedom says, “you cannot have me.”
