Polls are meh, but there is a poll which says that Trump’s approval among Hispanics is at 37% and African-Americans at 26%. If so, the Democrats are doomed. But, once again, it is a poll. On the other hand, I’ve seen various news stories indicating that Team Trump is rolling out a very sophisticated voter outreach program…not just designed to do the usual stuff, but do things like bring people into voting who haven’t voted before or not very often. If they can really pull off something like that, then the 2020 results might be the shocker of all shocks…and other than a few bits and pieces fed to MSMers (some of which will be deliberate misdirection), most people won’t see it until it happens.

Beto decided to hand the GOP a gift in the form of admitting that liberals like him are after gun confiscation. Beto knows he won’t be the nominee – and he also knows that he has no real future in Texas politics. So, he’s just setting fire to things because it will generate attention and money and allow him to live well. But the bottom line is that a Democrat President for candidate has called for confiscation…and you can rely on it that none of the others will really dissent from that view. They can’t: they’ve told their mostly-mindless base that guns are bad and for a Progressive, all bad things must be utterly destroyed. Just that one assertion might get Trump two or three million more votes in 2020.

Democrats want to impeach Trump – because they’ve been told that Orange Man Bad and, once again, all bad things must be destroyed. However, the Democrat leaders know that doing such a thing absent a half dozen GOP Senators willing to vote with them is political suicide…and that wouldn’t happen unless Trump’s approval among GOP voters drops below, say, 75% (latest poll shows him at about 94% approval among GOP voters). So, they are trying to have it both ways – telling their base that they are super serial gonna get that guy Trump, but behind the scenes not actually doing anything. Well, Trump’s DOJ is calling them out on it – essentially telling them to sh** or get off the pot; which boxes the Democrats in nicely. They’ll eventually either have to drop it or drive forward…either way it would be a political disaster for them.

Abortion “doctor” kept body parts of his victims…you know, like serial killers do. This is not at all surprising – no decent doctor would perform an elective abortion. Only the dregs of the medical field would go into that as a primary means of making money…and the dregs tend to be low caliber people. Like this house of horrors abortionist.

China has some food problems:

…lifting the tariffs, China has just admitted it cannot produce enough protein for national consumption, both as a staple or as a preferred meat. Imagine a US shortage of wheat and chicken, with no real access to corn or beef, and a couple dozen urban areas of 20 millions or more with just a third arable land as now. That’s China.

So, what’s the problem with China’s agricultural industry? Basically, they simply do not have enough land to grow the volume of soy they need; and, their pork production is highly diffused and is ravaged by a massive and seemingly uncontrollable swine flu epidemic. In fact, it is estimated that up to 60% of China’s pigs are infected with the flu.

To compound a bad situation to worse, Chinese officials are both incapable of enforcing a quarantine and too corrupt to stop the spread of the flu.

China is a giant on spindly legs. We have far more leverage over them than we suspect – and we’ve never used it, until just recently. We’ll see how Trump does.

The Leftist are leveling another attack against Brett Kavanaugh, and yes you guessed it … back from the 1980’s. Some poor girl is being used again by the Left to attack people they don’t like. This is who they are and we had better realize that these “low caliber people” on the left must be put down or we risk losing our country. Keep in mind, Justin Fairfax is still the Lt. Governor of Virginia. Let that sink in.

Trump is sending the federal government into California to try and resolve the homeless problem because no politician in California seems to be too concerned about it. If there is positive movement on this issue in the next 10 months, I think Trump picks up a lot of votes in that deep blue state.

The Democrats are becoming an urban cult rather than a serious political party. They ignore real tangible problems this country confronts preferring instead to talk endlessly about the mythical and delusional issues that ramble around their fever swamped minds. Their temper tantrums, WOKENESS, political correctness, and mythical political positions has turned off nearly everyone in this country.

I just finished “Justice On Trial”, an excellent book about the Left’s efforts to lynch Brett Kavanaugh. by Mollie Hemingway. So this new event does not surprise me. The Left tried to keep him off the bench and is now reduced to trying to delegitimize him, just as they are doing with Trump.

The Left has tried, with some but not great success, to convince Americans that voting for Trump was support for (and sharing of) of the many outrageous lies they have created about him. So why not turn that around on them? Doesn’t supporting Dems who are so craven, so despicable, so thoroughly and profoundly not just dishonest but vile and vicious, mean YOU are the same? That you not only tolerate but condone this kind of mob mentality, this party-sanctioned character assassination and efforts to destroy people just to gain power?

As for Ramirez, she was so thoroughly discredited by all the investigations and testimony during the confirmation hearing, I am surprised she didn’t change her name and move to Alaska. Maybe her binge drinking has continued, and she just doesn’t remember how every one of her wild claims had been debunked and how she was humiliated as a politically motivated liar.

That’s exactly what needs to happen. Turn their Alinsky tactics back on them.

Here is the best summation of the Democrat debate I have read yet:

        And here’s my favorite excerpt:

Kamala Harris wants to be clear about everything, then avoids every opportunity to get specific …. So Harris, being the only person who finds herself funny, just giggled a lot and spoke in platitudes.

Their radical politics aside, when I try to envision any of these people participating in serious discussions with leaders of other nations the image breaks up and disintegrates into the white static you see when your cable TV goes on the fritz. Seriously, can you imagine Bernie Sanders in a crucial discussion with any world leader? Particularly of Israel? Or giggly Kama Sutra Harris? Or scowly but clueless Liawatha? Or “I am Spartacus and I have way too much testosterone” Booker?

Just look at how they try to project strength and gravitas. Sanders hunches, scowls and yells. Harris frowns and looks bewildered. Warren scowls and makes faces and blusters. Booker wants to go outside and duke it out, because, you know, testosterone. They all seem to subscribe to Obama’s technique of what I always called his Mad Daddy frown, which might intimidate a third grader but…….

We already had Lefties representing our country abroad—we had Barry bowing deeply to tyrants and walking around clutching a gift book by Chavez to his chest with a goofy fanboi grin, and Michelle manhandling the Queen of England. The so-called leaders in the Dem pack (and I do not use the term “pack” loosely) all strike me as people who would vacillate between simpering and blustering, with absolutely nothing else to bring to any international table.

And the Left is RUNNING with it – their basic position is that this proves all allegations against Kavanaugh and he must be removed. They really want him gone and they want to lay down the marker that any Conservative who gets on the Court – real Conservative, that is – will be hounded mercilessly, forever.

      • Amazona September 15, 2019 / 5:38 pm

Yeah, and “running with it” is kind of like picking up a ball left on the sidelines after it was damaged and left behind, after its last play had it blown dead and every replay showed it was dead, after a new play with a new ball has been run at the other end of the field resulting in a touchdown.

Ramirez is damaged goods. Her story has been disproved in so many ways I can’t believe anyone would try to bring it up. It’s the kind of failure a normal person would hope would be forgotten about and never discussed again. Ever. It couldn’t happen in the hearings, but it could happen now—that is, an assault on her credibility. During the hearing no one could even hint that these women were lying skanks with sordid personal histories of alcohol abuse and promiscuous sex, but that was then and this is now. Now she has been proven to be a liar—-at least the fabled and demanded “FBI investigation” that was supposed to be so final found not a hint of anything that could possibly support her claims.

She’s already said she’s not quite sure this horrible incident even happened, and if it did she is not at all sure Kavanaugh was part of it—or even present at the party. I’m not talking about “blaming the victim”. I am talking about pointing out that to make any claims NOW, after admitting that she wasn’t quite sure anything ever did happen and if it did she wasn’t sure Kavanaugh did it, makes her either a liar or downright crazy. She wouldn’t even testify under oath. Now she wants to be back in the spotlight, and doesn’t care if that spotlight shows her as a really despicable dishonest human being, or a pathetic mentally ill human being.

Time, as I said to paint every one of supporters with the same brush.

Which makes me wonder if someone on the Left knows something we don’t know, which is that an opening on the Court might pop up in the next 3 months, allowing a nomination before we get into that no-man’s-land of THE YEAR OF AN ELECTION !!!

        If only…….

Because something has motivated them to start with a proactive intimidation program.

Time for us to dig out all the comments from the Left about how if Trump had just nominated Amy Barrett none of this controversy would have occurred. If Trump had just nominated Amy Barrett the Left would never have fought her appointment like they were fighting Kavanaugh’s.

We need to be ready to throw that in the faces of the Left. We need to dig out all the posts and comments and interviews about how if Trump would withdraw the Kavanaugh nomination and replace it with a Barrett nomination all the angst and controversy would just melt away.

And now is the time to start an organized, focused and ongoing comment campaign on every front about how making any choice of any nominee based on anything but allegiance to the Constitution is, essentially, a statement about wanting to subvert the Constitution.

For years I have made the argument that partial birth abortion could not only NEVER be justified as trying to save the life of the “mother” it actually increased danger to any woman undergoing it for three reasons. One, it required inducing labor, and induced labor is more intense and more painful, putting more stress on the body because the body has not gone through nature’s gradual increase of hormones that soften muscles and connective tissues so they can stretch with less danger of tearing and with less pain. Two, the need to physically reach into the womb to manipulate the position of the baby so it can be delivered feet first is traumatic to the woman, very invasive and with the danger of tearing the uterine wall. Three, a feet-first delivery is harder on the woman. So the claim that this procedure is to intervene in a dangerous pregnancy for the welfare of the woman is, and always has been, an elaborate lie.

And the Lefties I explained this to would not consider any of it.

Now we have an admission from a PP officer:

The attorney claimed that changing the abortion procedure to better harvest aborted babies’ body parts likely puts a woman at greater risk. “We’re getting testimony that switching the fetus position from the normal position of vertex to breech increases dilation so you can get better fetal tissue, well, what does increasing dilation also do, it causes harm or can cause harm to a woman’s cervix which then can cause her to be unable to carry a pregnancy down the road,” he explained.

This proves that, given time, all lies expose themselves. Our problem is that we have no loud coherent voice trumpeting this exposure and linking it to the lies, to let the gullible realize they were lied to.

I don’t watch Fox & Friends very often so I am not entirely familiar with Brian Kilmeade but he has been filling in for Tucker lately and I have to say that he is excellent and a great person to lead our 2020 effort. Tucker and Kilmeade define the Left really well and intellectually tear them apart piece by piece in brilliant fashion.

I think the RNC would be smart to have these two guys lead our messaging in 2020.

    • Amazona September 15, 2019 / 11:52 am

As I keep saying, the RNC needs to pay attention and learn from what works for the Left, That is, messaging messaging messaging. Propaganda. The incessant relentless avalanche of the inventions of a desperate Left that is close enough to victory to see it but not close enough to grasp it are having an effect on the mindset of America, just through total immersion in it. An alternative, an interesting and entertaining but serious alternative, presented at the bare minimum an hour a week on a network or, even, if necessary, dozens of hours a week on cable like the ads for different products that swamp the bigger numbers on cable and satellite providers. If “The Best of Sonny and Cher” can be on a dozen different channels at a dozen different times, why can’t WE come up with a way to get our message out?

I believe that conservatives would financially support a move on the part of the RNC, or some other agency if they can’t find the you-know-whats to do it on their own, to acquire and effectively staff an ongoing messaging platform.

So according to MSNBC’s “millennial” polling the majority want a ban on “weapons of war” so I am thinking all the global leftists have to do is initiate a few more “mass shootings” and they might get the guns … see how that works. Frighten the population into submission. And it’s working particularly with the pajama boy crowd.

  7. Retired Spook September 16, 2019 / 9:43 am

I’ve said for some time now that any violence in support of political change is likely to be initiated by the Left. They’ve owned violence as a political tactic for over half a century. Antifa is still a factor, but they don’t seem to be very well organized. I’m beginning to wonder if the rhetoric and actions of Leftists aren’t a kind of back-handed way to goad some of the more militant groups on the Right into firing the first shot. I’ll have to admit that when I heard about the latest attack on Kavanaugh, my first reaction was I wanted to hit someone, and that’s not who I am. But if I had that reaction then someone who’s just looking for an excuse to fight back……well, you get my drift. I hope saner minds prevail, but our foe doesn’t play by a fixed set of rules, and they never quit.

    • Cluster September 16, 2019 / 10:41 am

They are inciting violence no question about it and it’s by design. A society can not constantly be held on edge without erupting and every single day the media is sowing discord and keeping tensions high. The latest Kavanaugh issue is a great case in point. I will say though that if Soros and his band of authoritarian leftists think the American people will allow his agenda to take over … he is sadly mistaken.

if Soros and his band of authoritarian leftists think the American people will allow his agenda to take over … he is sadly mistaken.

I think we’re drawing closer and closer to finding out. As unhinged as they already are, I can’t imagine what the militant Leftists will do if Trump wins re-election. I guess a lot depends on who controls Congress. My gut feeling is that most Americans are disgusted with the impeachment talk, especially with only 14 months left till the election. That tells me they know they’re going to lose. We definitely live in interesting times.

If they have engaged in actual legislative action, which is after all their job (as Trump pointed out) we sure haven’t heard about it. Oh, we have heard about a couple of fake efforts, bills that clearly were not serious, but it sure looks like the current House thinks they were elected only to provide them with public platforms for attacking the President and trying to undermine the rule of law, delegitimize the election and unseat an elected President.

      • Retired Spook September 16, 2019 / 12:07 pm

Neera Tanden, the President of The Center for American Progress, was on Fox News Sunday yesterday. She rattled of a whole list of legislation on the environment, gun control and higher wages (yeah, didn’t you know Congress can dictate the wages companies pay their employees?) she says has passed the House, most of which is sitting on Mitch McConnel’s desk. She seems to have forgotten that harry Reid did EXACTLY THE SAME THING. Payback’s a bitch. You would think that, if any of the legislation had significant value their comrades in the complicit agenda media would be shouting it from the rooftops.

Great. Let’s dig out those bills, subject them to the litmus test of compliance with the 10 th

Remember, it was this House that pitched the hissy fit when McConnell wanted to put the New Green Deal up to a vote.

It’s all theater and we should be calling them out on that.

Just look at what the Left does to people. Do you think you and I would be any different if we find ourselves on their wrong end? Nope. In fact I am sure it would be worse. They have completely obliterated the concept of innocent until proven guilty and take delight in destroying peoples lives and imprisoning them for perceived violations. Reminiscent of Nazi Germany, and these are people I will definitely take up arms against when and if that happens. I won’t even have to think twice.

Here is one little historical nugget that is playing out once again. Back in 1775, only about 30% of the population wanted independence. 30% were indifferent and just wanted to live their life, and the other 30% were still loyal to the King. I think today we have 30% of true genuine traditional American patriots, we have 30% who are indifferent and just want to live their lives, and the other 30% are loyal to centralized control aka; a King.

Who, fortunately, (or unfortunately for the Left) own most of the guns. The Christian in me, though, hopes that those who hate me and hate this country will have a change of heart before their hate consumes them. The realist in me doesn’t see that happening, but I also can’t see them starting a revolution because I think the vast majority of them are cowards who are skilled at talking the talk but walking the walk — not so much. The best solution I see is that prosperity is so wide spread by the end of Trump’s second term that only a few hard-core Leftist will even give the Democrats the time of day.

Actually, the Left tried this more than ten years ago with Clarence Thomas, and to this day some on the Left believe he was in some obscure way sexually threatening to Anita Hill. And they succeeded with Robert Bork, as well as with Manuel Estrada when Bush 43 nominated him for a different court.

Notice how little attention the Left is giving to Omar’s documented immigration fraud and bigamy and tax fraud. That’s two felonies out of three, I believe—bigamy is probably not a felony—and there are witnesses and documentation. …..crickets…..

How many felonies are already proven regarding Hillary Clinton? That doesn’t even include her misdeeds in doing an end run around the CIA to ship weapons to Syrian rebels through Benghazi, and the mess that created when some of those missiles were used against American aircraft and she had to send Chris Stevens in to try to retrieve the rest of them while holding back American air support knowing IT might be shot down by the weapons she had provided.

So many crimes, so little time. So the distraction of hair-on-fire hysteria over tired old, previously debunked unsupported claims in the ongoing effort to convince decent Americans it won’t be worth it to try to serve their country by maintaining a vicious lie industry about those who do is the strategy here.

Not to mention the fact that everyone who voted for this is now officially a “science denier”.

I’d like to see someone keep track of the millions and millions of dollars spent in various states for various lawsuits caused by radical Dem overreach It’s got to be in the billions.

In Colorado alone, the new Dem legislature has committed Colorado to join in a lawsuit against Trump (who;s going to pay for that?) plus passed so many laws that will be challenged in court it is hard to keep track of them. I’m guessing all of them—the oil and gas regulations, the radical Red Flag law, the Popular Vote compact, the imposition of radical homosexual and trans sexual education starting as young as 5, all will be challenged in court. Every one of them. So who has to pay for this? The taxpayer That is just money frittered away, due to reckless agenda pursuits by radical Dems.

Then we can add the billions of dollars of lost tax revenue thanks to oil and gas companies leaving the state. Not just the taxes these companies pay directly, but the taxes paid by their employees. And a lot of these companies also, in addition to their taxes, put millions into communities with donations to various causes and schools.

Congress seems to have become completely unmoored, drifting along on tides of socio-political pressures and general hysteria. The Dems are caught up in trying to weaponize Congress, as well as federal agencies, to impose their will on the country, trying to legislate their opinions and values to give them the color of law. Republicans seem confused, intimidated and fretful, nearly paralyzed by the intensity and, to be blunt, insanity of the Left as it builds up energy much as a hurricane builds up energy as it develops.

Nothing at all to do with gender identity or sexual orientation is within the scope of authority of Congress, other than to ensure that all people are treated equally under the law. Congress does not have the authority to determine, or try to impose, beliefs about things like “gender fluidity”. To quote a favorite phrase of the Left, gender is “settled science”. It is determined by DNA and genetics.

Every single example of an individual’s belief that he or she can change the inborn, inherent genetic qualities of gender is a mental health condition. No matter how deeply a person might FEEL about his or her assigned gender not complying with his or her feelings, no matter how urgently this person might feel the need to act out these feelings in an effort to feel comfortable in his or her body, these are all aspects of mental health.

I think we have gone way too far down the rabbit hole, starting with the idea that frustration is evil and must be thwarted, that we all have an inherent unalienable RIGHT to do whatever we want to do. It’s led to these extremes. It’s also led to the extreme of “If my personal identity is, in my mind, of a certain gender then the entire world must adapt to how I FEEL and change to accommodate it”.

Well, as a woman of a certain age who has only skied with some competence and skill on blue ski slopes, I IDENTIFY as a downhill racer because that is what I want to be, so shouldn’t I be able to sue the Olympic committee for not putting me on the team? Aren’t objective criteria for being an Olympic ski racer discriminatory and unfair? That is so obviously crazy no one could take it seriously, but it isn’t that much different from saying “I, a male, IDENTIFY as a woman so shouldn’t I be able to compete on women’s teams against “other” women? Isn’t applying objective scientific criteria to determine my gender discriminatory and unfair?”

These are mental health issues, not legislative issues, and Congress has no business being dragged into them by “social justice warriors”. And I think every Republican election campaign for every Dem-held House seat should make that point. When Congress is allowed to impose arbitrary and emotion-based wish lists on the public, where does it end? Most of us are not personally affected by seeing women’s sports destroyed, turned over to opportunistic men who see the chance to win scholarships by shaving their legs and assuming female names for a few years. But a lot more will be affected if Congress legislates something like sex ed in all schools in the country, demanding (as the new Colorado law does, following the path paved by California) that even children as young as 5 are to be taught about homosexuality and gender fluidity and safe homosexual sex. A lot more will be affected if Congress passes laws requiring all of us to use accepted pronouns, or that is to say newly invented syllables that IDENTIFY as pronouns.

Congress needs to stick to the job of legislating. The Supreme Court needs to stick to the job of strictly applying Constitutional law to the cases brought before it. and lower courts need to stick to applying the law in their own cases, not trying to use their positions to advance personal or political agendas. The President needs to continue careful adherence to the delegated duties of the Executive Branch. Too bad we don’t have a national media dedication to keeping an eye on straying and saying “Keep in your own lane”.

A study has concluded that the attitude toward judicial nominees is based on the fact that more and more judges have been using their positions to try to advance political agendas instead of just applying the law as it is written.

Thomas Jipping, deputy director of Heritage’s Edwin Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation….asked:

Why would Sen. [Richard] Blumenthal attack a nominee because he belongs to the Knights of Columbus? … For that matter, why would senators care why a judicial nominee wrote something in their school newspaper 25 years ago? It’s because the left believes judges decide cases based on their personal views.

So they want to know what those personal views are, and these are all bits and pieces that they say that they believe will tell them kind of what’s in the judge’s or the nominee’s heart.

I think it is important to add to that comment. Jipping says “It’s because the left believes judges decide cases based on their personal views.” More to the point, and more important, is the fact that the Left believes judges SHOULD decide cases based on their personal views. THIS is the problem we have to address, firmly and repeatedly and without wavering.

It’s not enough to try to choose, nominate and confirm judges based on a belief that they will NOT decide cases based on their personal views. We have to be much more open and emphatic that choosing judges we hope will rule to advance our personal or political agendas is a subversion of the entire judicial branch and corruption of the judiciary. Every single time a Dem (or anyone else, for that matter) tries to determine the personal agendas of a nominee this person should immediately be called out on this, with emphasis on the utter wrongness of this kind of attitude.and on the fact that such an attitude is essentially an admission of a desire to subvert the Constitution and the rule of law. On those annoying Bicker Shows, where people from opposing sides of the political aisle try to outshout each other, the conservative side should get right in the faces of those on the Left and demand, loudly and stridently, just how they can justify wanting judges and justices who are willing, who are eager, to subvert the law and the foundational concepts of our judiciary instead of being completely objective and unbiased?

Can’t we learn ANYTHING? The Left’s messaging succeeds because it repeats repeats repeats repeats repeats repeats, it continuously pounds the same messages into anyone who will listen (and because they control most of the media that means most of the people). Us? We have a couple of people toss out an idea a time or two, here or there, and then move on. The Left is focused and on message. We mill around and commiserate with each other about how little progress we are making.

The WOKE progressive movement will go no where without judges and courts imposing their agenda and that will require having judges who decide cases based on their feelings toward the issues regardless of the Constitution. This is why the Left is so apoplectic about Kavanaugh and the next appointee. And Obama did them no favors by leaving so many court vacancies for Trump to fill. They won’t admit this because that would require criticizing the “first black President”.

So MSNBC this morning is talking about “structural racism” in terms of elementary and high school education and of course the most extreme racist in this country Eddie Glaude is right in the middle of it. What’s not being discussed is possibly one of the biggest contributors to “structural inequality” and that is the destruction of the black family over the last four decades and the lack of “choice” of school that many black families have when it comes to education, all brought to you courtesy of the Democrat Party.

I actually think being a Democrat now can be defined as a mental illness.

Any one of the Dem candidates will be so easy to destroy on the debate stage and we have them to thank for it.

Joe Biden has taken every position on every issue throughout his 40 year career so when the moderator poses a policy question, it will be a simple matter of asking Joe “what position do you take on that issue tonight Joe?”

Elizabeth Warren first of all taught at Harvard under false pretenses as a “native American” which could have resulted in an authentic Native American professor being denied employment. Isn’t that “white privilege”? She was also paid $400K to teach one class at Harvard all the while she bemoans student debt. Additionally, Warren has emphatically claimed that she will “outlaw” fracking which would relegate America into becoming once again dependent on foreign countries.

Bernie, well Bernie is just an angry old, one trick pony communist who after a life time of “public service” is a multi millionaire with three homes including a $600K waterfront cabin which he bought shortly after losing the rigged Dem primary in 2016. Connect the dots on that one. Bernie also once hailed Cuba and Venezuela as models the US should follow.

The rest of the field are so completely void of any substance or accomplishments that that debate writes itself.

“Hell yes I am going to take away peoples AK47’s and AR15’s” – Bobby Frank O’Rourke

And then there is this gem from Kamala Harris

And she cited her experience as a District Attorney in San Francisco and Attorney General of California as an example of how she’d implement a firearm registry nationwide.

“I also have as part of my background and experience working on this issue, when I was attorney general [of California], and we put resources into allowing law enforcement to actually knock on the doors of people who were on two lists — a list where they had been found by a court to be a danger to themselves and others,” Harris said following a speech at an AFSCME forum. “They were on a list where they were precluded and prohibited from owning a gun because of a conviction that prohibited that ownership,” Harris explained. “Those lists were combined and then we sent law enforcement out to take those guns, because, listen, we have to deal with this on all levels, but we have to do this with a sense of urgency.”

Could it be—-just spitballing here, but COULD IT BE—- that the NYT lied in its smear campaign against Kavanaugh? Not just lied by commission but by omission?

Now the son of Blasey-Ford’s only “witness”—the best friend who denied being at the party Ford said she attended with her–is ticked off at his mother being dragged back into the mess. And he has some interesting things to say about his mother being pressured to lie under oath to back up Ford’s claims. (emphasis mine)

“Despite her lifelong friendship with Christine Blasey Ford and her opposition to Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination, Keyser resisted immense personal pressure and courageously came forward with the truth, putting everything in her life at risk,” the GoFundMe post continues. “As a result, she faces great personal hardship. The harsh glare of the public eye has taken a tremendous physical, emotional, and financial toll on her.”

“Leland stood up and did what was right when she had everything to lose and nothing to gain,” the post added.

The account added a quote from Hemingway and Carrie Severino’s book “Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court”:

“The person with the most to lose and the least to gain for telling the truth about Kavanaugh may have been Leland Ingham Keyser, who put her commitment to the truth above her political preferences and even friendships.”

Beckel’s GoFundMe page for his mother, as well as support for the book “Justice on Trial,” reinforce reporting about the pressures put on Mrs. Keyser to lie in favor of Ford.
As noted by Hemingway, “A group text was formed in which friends such as Cheryl Amitay and Lulu Gonella discussed how to get [Keyser] to say something more helpful” to Ford’s case, adding, “An unnamed man on the text suggested that they defame her as an addict. Keyser has been in recovery for some time, as her friends know and as has previously been reported.”

“Leland is a major stumbling block,” Amitay reportedly said, “[w]hile asserting she didn’t want her to make anything up out of whole cloth, she offered ideas for things that could sound supportive of Ford’s story, such as that she’d been in similar situations with Blasey Ford that summer.”
“I was told behind the scenes that certain things could be spread about me if I didn’t comply,” Keyser told New York Times reporters.
Did the NYT ever mention this? The attempted blackmail?

    And then:

While acknowledging the outpouring of support from some of the world’s wealthiest and powerful people in Silicon Valley, accolades from corporate media, participation in far-left political causes, and nearly a million dollars raised in GoFundMe accounts, the authors say the only reason to come forward with an uncorroborated 35-year-old account of sexual misconduct would be because she believed it to be true.

At least one of our trolls has tried the “how-can-you-as-a-Christian-support-Trump tactic on us in recent weeks. The following letter to the editor appeared this morning in our local paper, and answers the question about as well as I’ve seen it answered.

Trump protects Christians, even if he won’t act as one

Curtis XXXXX’s Sept. 9 letter accusing many Christians of Trump worship seems to miss the mark. As a practicing, evangelical Christian who hangs out with numerous clergy members, I think XXXXXXX is dead wrong. First of all, Donald Trump is my president, not my pastor. Trump is certainly not my idol and, even as a supporter, I find myself frequently shaking my head, wondering why some things are tweeted or said in daily discourse with the media.

I have some Christian friends who are from Iraq. It is interesting that they commented on how Saddam Hussein, a known tyrant, was instrumental in allowing them to practice their Catholicism freely despite sharia law being the dominant force in the nation. Even though Saddam was in no way a Christian, he tolerated their beliefs and actually being dictator kept a theocracy from taking over leadership of Iraq.

I see Trump performing the same service to Christians in America today. It feels like my religious rights are being slowly eroded by cultural and political forces beyond my control. Trump has supported key issues that are important to me even though his behavior does not always reflect how I wish my president would act.

While that point can be argued equally from either side, I see the God of Abraham and David using fractured, sinful people all through history to accomplish his agenda. Moses was a murderer and David killed his best friend so he could have relations with his wife. Even the evil King Herod was used to fulfill prophesies in his time. I suppose he can use a bragging adulterer to do his will today as well. Trump is not the golden calf to be worshipped, but he does defend Christian policies.

When I hear this sanctimonious two-faced claptrap I respond that MY Christianity is based on the tenets of redemption, salvation and forgiveness,

The second reading at Mass on Sunday was from 1 Timothy 1:12-17 and you know it made me think of Trump and those who posture as being soooooooooo Christian while ignoring the actual teachings of Christianity

I am grateful to him who has strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord,
      because he considered me trustworthy
in appointing me to the ministry.
I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and arrogant,
but I have been mercifully treated
because I acted out of ignorance in my unbelief.
Indeed, the grace of our Lord has been abundant,
along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance:
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
Of these I am the foremost.
But for that reason I was mercifully treated,
so that in me, as the foremost,
Christ Jesus might display all his patience as an example
for those who would come to believe in him for everlasting life.
To the king of ages, incorruptible, invisible, the only God,
honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

When a sinner says I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and arrogant,
but I have been mercifully treated
because I acted out of ignorance in my unbelief.
and then is grateful for being able to say that in me, as the foremost,
Christ Jesus might display all his patience as an example
for those who would come to believe in him for everlasting life
that is a pretty clear message that sinners can have powerful messages for us all.

Well I am sure you have all seen the display put on by the House yesterday. These are people who just got off a 6 week vacation courtesy of tax payers and then return to Washington only to attack the President that we elected. There has never been any effort on their behalf to move on with the agenda for Americans, preferring instead to wallow in their hate for us and this country. They did have time however to vote on, and approve a bill that allows men to dominate women’s intercollegiate sports, so they did do that.

I am watching Morning Joe this morning which is the equivalent a 5th grade school report and they are acting as if the the last 3 years never happened … much like the Democrats. They seem convinced that interviewing these witness’s just one more time will reveal the truth … or the “truth” they want to hear. The media and the activists they employ have never been held accountable for the lies and propaganda they have peddled over the last three years and never will. There is zero accountability in the DC swamp. We see the same activist “journalists” and pundits who have been wrong about everything still peddling in the same propaganda. Like Spook said the other day … how in the hell do you still listen to someone who has lied to you for three years??

Interviewing WHICH “witnesses”? The entire charade fell apart when it was learned there ARE no “witnesses”. The two names Ford was able to come up with said no siree, we don’t know what she is talking about, I wasn’t in any such place at any such time and for darned sure never saw any such act. One of them, after thinking over Ford’s testimony, said she had come to the conclusion she didn’t believe it—and she was Ford’s best friend. Who was pressured to commit perjury to support Ford’s lies.

Ramirez scrambled around trying to find someone, anyone, who would admit to having seen something like her account claimed happened, and not a one did. Not a one. Some troll commenting on another site whined that she produced 25 names but Trump wouldn’t let the FBI interview any of them. I doubt that. But she herself admitted she had emailed everyone she knew back then and no one could remember anything like her claim.

So, WHICH “witnesses”? Ramirez herself refused to be interviewed or to make a written statement and told friends she wasn’t even sure her alleged incident even happened, much less who might have been present if it did.

There was very little mention of drug addiction, mental health, city regulations, high taxes, illegal immigration, etc. NOPE. According to MSNBC’s pollyanish spin on the problem, the vast majority of the homeless are sober, hard working people who are simply victims of structural racism and pay inequality.

That’s how their brains operate and there is just no possible way to constructively work through problems with people who have this much garbage in their heads.

We all laughed and said, we told ya so, when Robert Francis O’Rourke said, Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15’s and AK-47’s.” But the truth is we’ve known this for a long time. An article in the NRA’s First Freedom newsletter referenced this quote from Nelson T. Shields III, director of the National Council to Control Handguns in The New Yorker, July 26, 1976:

“We’re going to have to take one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily—given the political realities—going to be very modest. Right now, though, we’d be satisfied not with half a loaf but with a slice. Our ultimate goal—total control of handguns in the United States—is going to take time.”

At least back then the anti-gun Left knew that handguns were the problem, not rifles, which account for less than 3% of all gun homicides. The Virginia Tech shooter in 2007 killed 33 (including himself) and wounded 17 with 2 handguns, a Glock 19 and a Walter P22. Since then, though, that vast majority of mass shootings have been committed with an AR-15. The percentage of homicides with a rifle is almost identical to the percentage of homicides represented by mass shootings — around 3%. Why did the AR-15 become the weapon of choice of mass shooters when it is seldom used by other criminals in other crimes? I don’t recall ever seeing a study that attempted to answer this question. Clearly the Virginia Tech shooter proved that a pair of high capacity pistols are every bit as lethal as one rifle. Banning so-called “Assault Rifles” to solve the gun violence problem would be like banning Vicodin to solve the opioid crisis. And if or when they are successful in banning scary looking black rifles AGAIN, and it doesn’t yield the desired results AGAIN, then they will come for the handguns. Good luck with that.
