Democrats are convinced that Trump will lose because Bevin lost in Kentucky last night (presumptively: as of this moment, still no concession on the part of Bevin but with him behind 4,700 votes its unlikely he’ll prevail). The Democrats – and the Never Trump Tru-Con Experts – are sure of this because Bevin lost by being blown out in the ‘burbs…and that means Trump is toxic in the ‘burbs and – presto! – say hello to President Warren.

Not so fast: while Bevin was getting crushed in the ‘burbs, all the other GOP Statewide contenders were destroying their Democrat opponents. So, it looks as though it was merely Bevin who was unpopular. I hadn’t paid much attention to it all but what I’ve been able to find is that Bevin is, apparently, quite an abrasive personality and there wasn’t a single group he hadn’t offended at some time…his approval rating is something like 36%. So the real news is that Trump nearly dragged a political carcass across the finish line. And we got as our GOP consolation prize the new Attorney General of Kentucky, Daniel Cameron…who does appear to be quite an impressive man who should go far…that he’s the first GOP AG since 1948 and the first ever African-American AG for Kentucky is just icing on the cake.

OTOH: Virginia went pretty Blue last night – on the back of Democrat power in DC-dependent northern Virginia. I don’t know how we flip VA back to red…though Trump’s plan to move federal departments out of DC might help. My advice to VA people who don’t want their State to become East California is to set up South Virginia…break up the State. Let the Democrats have their DC suburbs.

Eric Ciaramella – recently outed by Don, Jr on Twitter – appears to be the whistleblower: and he’s what you expect…a partisan hack. This is why the Democrats and the MSM (BIRM) wanted to keep him anonymous. But it is absurd to keep him anonymous. We, the people, have an absolute right to know all relevant details about whomever is accusing any public official of corruption. It is the only way we’ll be able to tell if there is something real, or if its just a partisan hit job. As this whole impeachment thing is a partisan hit job, the quicker we get the truth out the quicker we can force the Democrats to drop the charade – which is what I expect they’ll do. I don’t know, of course, but I don’t believe the Democrats want to have a Senate trial where Cocaine Mitch will set the agenda.

ABC spiked the Epstein story in 2016 because prominent Democrats – including the Clintons in an election year – were involved. You know that’s why; I know that’s why: everyone knows that’s why. You weren’t at all surprised when the story broke about the cover up. Here are some things to think about:

1. It isn’t just Epstein. Rest assured there are lots and lots of other scandals the MSM is keeping a tight lid on because their revelation would put powerful Democrats at risk.

2. Those Conservatives who were only mildly critical – making comments about how this was just not a good look for ABC – are traitors. They are angling for MSM gigs and will knife us in the back if they think it’ll help secure one.

3. As the MSM is proven to be bald-faced, partisan liars…anyone who pays attention to their reporting, polls or analysis of politics is either monumentally stupid, or a liar, themselves.

From Carpe Donktum:

Remember when the entire media had a panic attack over Trumps comments on the Access Hollywood tape? While this was going on, those same people knew that Epstein was raping children… and then decided to cover it up.

As I’ve said: in relation to his opponents, Trump is the morally superior person.

Our Matt points out that Sondland’s changed testimony is not proof of an impeachable offense. I go a bit further: it proves Sondland’s a liar.

Frank Biden once needed help from a state senator to get funding for his charter-school business. A state Senator, Joe Abruzzo, who also worked as a lobbyist, needed help in pushing through a bill regarding the banning of the sale of horse meat, a hot-button item for lobbying client Victoria McCullough. So Frank turned to his brother Joe for help with Abruzzo’s project, and in turn Abruzzo helped push through state funding for Frank’s charter school business.

Politico revealed in a story posted Wednesday that Biden, while in office, helped a Florida state senator’s efforts to lobby for a ban on horsemeat as a favor to the vice president’s brother, Frank, who needed state funding for his charter-school business.

State Sen. Joe Abruzzo, who was a close associate of Frank Biden’s, also sat on the appropriations subcommittee that could earmark the school funding. Abruzzo, in turn, sought a quid pro quo as part of a side business he had lobbying on behalf of oil heiress and animal activist Victoria McCullough.

Abruzzo confessed to the ethically dubious arrangement alongside the younger Biden brother in a 2014 video for an equine conference: “I turned also to Frank and said, ‘We may need a little help from the vice president and the administration talking to some senators.’”

Frank Biden agreed that it was the use of his sibling’s influence that sealed the deal.

“My brother’s long-term relationships in the Senate proved to be the final nail in the coffin to be able to pull this thing forward,” he admitted in the video.

This kind of stuff goes on all the time. It’s only bad when Trump does it — or, more accurately, is accused of doing it.

I know it’s a Business As Usual thing, but I am so tired of hearing Joe Biden treated like some kind of saint I thought it worth pointing out that he has engaged in petty corruption as well as big dollar shenanigans.

Yesterday our resident troll said sarcastically, “enjoy the open hearings.” I have to say, I’m looking forward to them. I think they’re going to go down as one of the single greatest political blunders of either major political party.

Schiff is doing his best to limit the damage by trying to limit what questions can be asked. That won’t fly once the cameras are on, and I think the Republicans are so fed up with him they aren’t going to put up with any Schiff, so to speak.

It turns out that some people were paying attention to the Biden/Ukraine interface a long time before Trump was even president, much less trying to get to the bottom of it all:

    Flashback to 2014.

“Ukrainians sick of corruption revolted. Vice President Joe Biden went to Kiev to help the new government. But then something strange happened,” ABC News journalist Tom Llamas reported over the summer.

“Just three weeks later, a Ukrainian natural gas company accused of corruption appoints Hunter Biden … to their board of directors, paying his firm more than a million dollars a year.”

Moreover, Burisma hired Hunter despite the younger Biden having just been discharged from the U.S. Navy Reserves months earlier for testing positive for cocaine.

“He had served on other boards but had no known experience in Ukraine or natural gas,” Llamas added.

    https://www.bizpacreview.com/2019/11/08/newly-released-transcripts-raise-red-flags-over-hunter-bidens-suspicious-and-lucrative-career-850189

Then in 2015 the subject came up again:

Released Thursday, transcripts confirm that career State Department official George Kent testified in a closed-door hearing on Oct. 15 about the pushback he faced from the Obama administration when he first broached Hunter Biden’s activities in 2015.

“I was on a call with somebody on the vice president’s staff and I cannot recall who it was, just briefing on what was happening into Ukraine,” Kent said during the hearing.

“I raised my concerns that I had heard that Hunter Biden was on the board of a company owned by somebody that the U.S. government had spent money trying to get tens of millions of dollars back and that could create the perception of a conflict of interest.”

Burisma is one of Ukraine’s largest natural-gas producers and had been embroiled in accusations of corruption for years, up until the prosecutor assigned to investigate it was booted from his position in 2016 on orders from Hunter’s father, then-VP Biden.

In response to Kent’s concerns, an unnamed official on then-Vice President Biden’s staff basically told the longtime State Department official to buzz off.

“The message that I recall hearing back was that the Vice President’s son Beau was dying of cancer and that there was no further bandwidth to deal with family-related issues at that time,” he testified.

Hmmm. 2014—journalist brings up the question of Hunter Biden getting this job. Crickets…..

2015—-State Department official brings up the question of Hunter Biden being on the Burisma board. Crickets……

2016–Papa Joe gets the investigator running an investigation into Burisma fired, using a billion dollars of American aid money as leverage. Crickets………….

2019—-American president suggests to Ukrainian president that investigation into Hunter Biden’s firm be reopened. Hair-on-fire hysteria, mobs are formed to take down the president, the Dem side of the House of Representatives rallies to use this to unseat the president, protecting the reputation of Joe Biden (and by extension that of Hunter Biden) becomes a priority in the Complicit Agenda Media, the entire nation is thrust into not just melodrama but psychodrama as this is used to prop up a political coup under the guise of a sham impeachment effort marked not by an actual impeachment hearing but just a Star Chamber secret-yet-highly-publicized “inquiry” and an elaborate parade of alleged whistleblowers and anti-Trump witnesses takes place.

A special gift to all the TDSers who fret about the way Trump speaks.

I usually put quotations in italics, but this one had the responses of the author in italics so I am putting them in bold—not to emphasize them, as I usually do, but to indicate which parts are the responses of the article’s author.)

When I talk about the soul of a nation, I’m talking about people lying awake at night, like my Dad used to, staring at the ceiling and wonder what happens if I get sick? What happens if I don’t have insurance? [or, in the modern Biden household: What happens if I lose my $83,000 per month job? What happens if the ChiComs only fork over $1.2 billion? Was that hooker diseased? Did she cut my blow with Drano?] What happens to the family? What am I going to do?

Or about sending our kids off to school. Think about this, talk about the soul of the nation. Active fire drills? Live fire drills in school? Sending these little kids off. How many of you did that this September? [I can say that when I went to school we had active and live fire drills. I imagine everyone here experienced the same.] What’s wrong with us? We don’t have the courage to take on the NRA? I’ve taken them on twice and beaten them twice. And I’ll do it again.

I believe in the Second Amendment but nobody says you can have a round…a magazine with a hundred clips in it…a hundred b-b-bullets in it. We protect geese more than we protect…no joke, you can only have three shotgun shells when you go shooting for geese. But guess what, we protect geese better than we protect our kids.

Folks look, the fact is that, you know, that people are worried about having their health care…

Yes, people, this is the man some want to be president. Fewer all the time which is too bad because he would be my choice to run against Trump. I’d love to see him campaign against “active fire drills” as the entire nation thinks to itself “I survived dozens of fire drills—what’s the big deal?” That would open the door to him explaining how he meant drills about how to deal with active school shooters and how some guns can have magazines with a hundred clips in them, and how school shooters prefer to use shotguns.

And don’t forget the implication that the NRA is somehow responsible for school shootings. If Joe Biden was a character in The Wizard of Oz he would be going to the Emerald City to ask for a heart, a brain, courage and the ability to feel shame.

I have always commented on Trump’s frequent incoherence, and a debate between him and Biden would make Trump look like Churchill by comparison.

Today the people of Germany, and particularly the people of Berlin, have been celebrating the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. That is, the fall of the barrier that kept people trapped in the Soviet Socialist part of the city.

Today many people in the United States, including members of Congress, are fighting to institute Socialism in this country and celebrating a Soviet-style Star Chamber kind of “hearing” in the House of Representatives.

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
