An indicator of how it’s going: Swalwell wants to reserve judgement on impeachment. I’m sure in the end if articles are brought forward he’ll vote for them…but that he’s even semi-hedging shows the Democrats have not made their case. And likely won’t. I haven’t watched today’s legal professor hearing because why should I? Its just some people offering opinions…and their opinions are no more valid on this than any random person dragged in off the street. The flavor is shown by the fact that one of the lawyers testifying called for Trump’s impeachment before he took office. I did see on Twitter a little blurb from an MSMer that the Democrats are having a caucus meeting and Nancy is making sure that only lawmakers are in the room – no aids – and that no one has a phone with them. Something is up…don’t know what; but I wonder if its Trump-district Democrats in a panic about next year?

Robert Stacy McCain has an interesting article on how we must defend our own – when the Left gets out there to smear an effective member of our coalition, we have to stand up and be counted. But one thing in the article rather struck me – how a Conservative was destroyed in the early 80’s with the assistance of other mainstream Conservatives. Bet its been like that. We all know of how Buckley famously purged the Birchers from the movement…and, to be sure, a lot of Birch ideas were kook…the water fluoridation thing being most famed. But, on the other hand, does the Left ever purge their kooks? Remember, it was some years ago that the Left asserted that gender was a social construct. Can’t remember how far back I first heard that, but it wasn’t beyond 1995. That was insane kookery…but no one on the Left denounced it, and now the major Democrat candidates for President are adhering to that notion. And the core contention of the Birchers – that nearly everyone is in on the scam to take away the self-governing aspect of the American people – has proved true. My goodness, it is really brazen these days…they aren’t even hiding it any longer. Perhaps if we hadn’t been in the business of purging our own – you know, trying to make the Left like us by pointing out that we, too, hate the Right – we wouldn’t have got so far into this hole?

Boris Johnson seems set for a remarkable victory in the upcoming British elections. We’ll see: you know how polls can be…but it is astonishing that all polls, even the most Left friendly, show him crushing it. His margins are +6 to +15. So, let’s split it and say his Tories win it by 10. If so, he’d have a sizeable majority in Parliament and be able to get whatever Brexit deal he wants. My view: even a lot of people who voted Remain during the referendum are probably tired of this and want it resolved…Johnson promises to resolve it, both Labour and Liberal-Democrats are essentially promising to drag it out indefinitely. I think that if Johnson wins, he only wins a mandate to Exit…after that, the Brit people will look at how things are going and judge him on the other merits of his stewardship. Don’t think that a Johnson win means an era of Tory dominance is dawning.

Related: Hugh Grant is stumping for a Liberal-Democrat and calling out Labour’s anti-Semitism. Good for Hugh Grant – who is a pinko – but it won’t matter. Labour has made the calculation that there’s far more money and votes in anti-Semitism than there is in opposing anti-Semitism. The Democrats have made the same calculation.

What do we do post-Trump? Its an important question – even if he wins, he’s out after the 2024 election. What then? Angelo Codevilla starts writing the answer. My short answer: More Trump. Meaning, we can’t let Trump’s successor be GHWB to Reagan. Whomever we select in 2024, it must be someone we can rely on to right…and fight actually even harder than Trump has. I do detect the weakness in Trump: he appears to assume people are on the level. Not that he’s naive, but he takes people as they present themselves…and how many shivs has he got in his back from supposedly Conservative and GOP people? We need a merciless housecleaning of the old hacks and Deep State loyalists.

The impeachment hearings today were nothing more than a Democrat therapy session. This is embarrassing.

I heard Rush talking today about the “what will come after Trump” thing and he was pretty pessimistic. I am not, for several reasons.

    In no particular order:

    A. The Left has overreached in its hubris and misjudgment of the American public, ripped off its mask and shown us the ugly reality that used to be disguised as compassion for the poor, blah blah blah. I don’t think they can un-ring that bell, and I don’t think purging the kooks out of the party would work because there are so many of them they now DEFINE the party. When Reagan said what so many of us had been thinking—-that he didn’t leave the party, it left him—he was talking about a far less radical and divisive party than it has become since then. I think a smart GOP should be able to pick off a lot of disillusioned Dems looking for a political home.

    B. Trump has illustrated that it is possible to fight back when the Left piles on, as they have with him. He has shown that perseverance and pushback are not just possible but effective. He is blazing a trail in new territory for the usually meek Right, and setting an example

    C. By the time Trump leaves office I think much of the Deep State will be effectively removed or neutralized, and dramatically reduced both in size and power. He is showing us how deeply entrenched the Left has become, and how toxic this is to the nation. A vigorous second term, hopefully with control of Congress, will let the Right dismantle a lot of the Left’s infrastructure, establish a much stronger Constitutional judiciary, and hopefully pass some important legislation, such as reforming the Civil Service laws, to prevent this from happening again.

    D. We have seen some true warriors rise in the ranks of the Republicans, and they have been learning that yes, they CAN take the battle to the Left, and they can eviscerate them with facts and truth. We are seeing people like Nunes and Jordan leading the way in being belligerent in a positive way. I have a feeling that even my old favorite, Ted Cruz, is learning that there is a lot more to be gained by being a fighter, and I think this is a message that is resonating throughout the party. The wimps, the whiners, the appeasers, are falling by the wayside, being ignored or ridiculed and hopefully being replaced, and the new combative energy we are seeing in Congress is a thing of beauty.

All of this depends to a very great degree on the Republican Party finally getting its organizational head out of its nether regions and becoming coherent, organized and focused, and figuring out how to use propaganda. And that comes back to people like us beating the crap out of them and culling the dead wood and replacing it with vigor and purpose and, as I keep coming back to, FOCUS.

I think it was in the 60s when Americans were starting to get used to the idea of more ethnic foods, and Chun King was trying to get established in mainstream America. The company put out an ad that was wonderful, and won a lot of awards.

The caption was 9 OUT OF TEN DOCTORS RECOMMEND CHUN KING—-and the photo was of ten young doctors, in white coats with stethoscopes around their necks, and nine of them were Chinese.

OK, it was a funny ad. But I think of it when I see the Dems trotting out their pet hired gun “experts”. It’s like 9 OUT OF TEN LAWYERS THINK DONALD TRUMP BROKE THE LAW and then you see a group of ten lawyer-types and nine of them are wearing Dem lapel pins.

You gotta laugh. Do they really think they are fooling anyone?

Rumor today is that Pelosi only has 216 votes to impeach. How hilarious would that be to come up 2 short after everything they’ve put the country through?

I am struggling to grasp the absurdity of this impeachment effort. The “witness’s” that were paraded out yesterday were a complete joke and even Jonathan Turley looked embarrassed to be included with that bunch. The lengths to which these Democrats will go to undermine and destabilize our country are far beyond anything I would have ever expected but here we are … in full blown hysteria over someone they don’t like running the country and they are damn sure making everyone suffer because of it. The writers at American Thinker summarized this better than I –

Nadler may have assumed that bringing Pamela Karlan to speak was a stroke of brilliance but she was the nail in the coffin of impeachment. She, even more than the two men, is the epitome of the contempt the left has for the American people. Her arrogance, her oh-so-planned but unwise and cruel joke about President Trump’s son as her punchline should be all anyone needs to hear to understand exactly who these people are. These are not the people who should be entrusted with the education of our young people. They are not teaching them to think; they are teaching them to capitulate unthinkingly to their progressive will. If their students resist, they are pilloried, made outcasts on their campuses. One only had to watch Schiff’s show trial to realize they will not allow an opposing witness to speak. Schiff is a Stalinist; what is so frightening is that no one in his own party is standing up and screaming STOP! That pretty much says all we need to know about the Democratic party today. Like Obama promised, they mean to transform America into something it was never meant to be: fascist. Our left is now officially, openly fascist They mean to control how we live, what we eat, what we drive, how much of our money we can keep, what we can say, write, tweet, and think. Thought crimes are on their agenda.

That Donald Trump was elected was divine intervention. The miracle of his win was a stopgap, an interruption of the left’s takeover of our republic. Unless all Americans become enlightened and involved, these enemies will win. They will ruin this once great nation with their toxic progressivism, their stealth fascism. If Schiff, Nadler, and Pelosi think their pet law profs did them proud on Wednesday, they are sadly mistaken. They actually exposed the totalitarian underbelly of our vicious and intolerant anti-Trump left. Karlan, Feldman and Gerhardt willingly exposed the intellectual vacuity of our professorial class. In the end, the “hearing” on Wednesday was a grand failure for the anti-Trump left and an eye-opening education for all Americans who watched the grotesque pompousness of the left. Pamela Karlan is their poster-girl. She must be so proud. In fact, she will be a laughingstock for the rest of her life. Ambrose Bierce, ever a brilliant observer of the human condition wrote: “They say that hens do cackle loudest when there is nothing vital in the eggs they have laid.”! Pamela Karlan sure laid an egg today.

Her “apology” couldn’t even be graceful. She snarled ” I wish the president would apologize, obviously, for the things that he has done that’s wrong but I do regret having said that,”

So she doubled down on her “snarling partisan b**ch whose hatred for the president defines her as a human being” persona.

Actually, I think we are seeing several whose hatred for the president defines them as human beings. They no longer seem to have any characteristic than that one, at least not till you dive into the list of character defects such as compulsive lying and willingness to do permanent damage to the nation in pursuit of vengeance for simply being Trump.

One of the many ways the Left ignores the will of the people.

The George Soros-funded project to take over suburban counties has extended from district attorneys to school boards.

In Howard County, Maryland the fanatics of the radical left took control of the local school board and imposed forced busing on people who did not want it.

Against deep opposition, the board voted to begin a program in which students will be bused out of their neighborhoods and forced to go to schools in other communities based on their parents’ income.

According to the Daily Caller’s Luke Rosiak, “the board received 6,650 pieces of verbal and written testimony opposing the plan and 150 pieces of testimony in support of it.”

In a free society, you would think a 46 to 1 opposition would kill an elitist idea. After all, we have all been proud of the recent vote in Hong Kong and stand firmly with the popular majority (over 80 percent). We have been saying loudly that we want the Communist dictatorship in Beijing to respect the rights of the people of Hong Kong. (emphasis – mine)

Instead, enormous pressure is being brought on school board members to ignore the will of the people. As Rosiak reported:

“Board member Kirsten Coombs voted ‘no’ after board member Jennifer Mallo motioned to move a swath of children out of their schools to try to balance poverty rates. It failed 4-3, and people clapped. ‘I move that we go into recess to consider the impact of the failure of that last motion,’ Mallo said.
“Coombs appeared to be crying when they came out of the back room and said the board should vote again ‘because otherwise the entire plan falls apart.’

“The board redid the vote, with Coombs’ voice cracking as she said ‘yes.’ The vote was part of a series taken by the board that, together, resulted in the large-scale moving of children to different schools based on their parents’ income, effective in 2020.”

    • Amazona December 5, 2019 / 1:30 pm

In Jefferson County, Colorado a few years ago the school board was dominated by conservatives. In the next election, more than ten million dollars were spent, all out-of-state money, to defeat them and elect a Liberal board, while teachers let children out of classes to block traffic, hold up printed signs and “protest” the old school board members.

Why would anyone outside this district/state care about who sits on the board of a school district? They same thing happened in nearby Douglas County, with millions in out of state dollars funding the campaigns of radical Leftists.

      • Retired Spook December 5, 2019 / 1:38 pm

Why would anyone outside this district/state care about who sits on the board of a school district?

        Take your pick.

      • Amazona December 5, 2019 / 9:55 pm

Exactly. The same howling mob calling for draconian punishments for allegedly working with a foreign element to influence American politics is just fine with an international criminal and radical Leftist buying school boards across the country as part of his effort to undermine our very Constitution and rule of law and turn us into just another tyrannical banana republic.

      • Amazona December 6, 2019 / 11:19 am

My point exactly. And why would an international criminal/radical Leftist care about what goes on in a Colorado school district?

Because as the twig is bent, so grows the tree.

      That email was in response to Turley’s impeachment “testimony”. Among other things the Democrat law professor states;

“As I have previously written, such misuses of impeachment would convert our process into a type of no-confidence vote of Parliament. Impeachment has become an impulse buy item in our raging political environment.”

    • Cluster December 6, 2019 / 7:21 pm

The opening of the email says it all:

“I hope this message finds you all well, ladies and gentleman. Aside from Mr. Turley, of course.”

What a POS the author is, and we call these people “colleagues” or “fellow citizens”?? I don’t think so. These people are scum and should be treated accordingly.

Seriously, does anyone believe that these people are conservatives?

We are seeing the desperation of the Left, as they form yet another pretend-Right group to act like obnoxious boors, trying to create the impression that this is really what “the Right” is like. It’s a classic False Flag tactic and I hope they are just ignored from now on. First we had a fascist group pretend to be “right-wing” and “anti-fascist” while they riot, attack people and in general act exactly like the Leftist thugs they really are. Now we have “America First” pulling the same thing.

Just a reminder that we should give thanks for our blessings all year round, not just on Thanksgiving. For example, another reason to be thankful that Trump won in 2016:

Pamela Karlan was on Hillary Clinton’s short list for potential Supreme Court appointments.

Yeah, we definitely gotta fire the guy responsible for this. //sarc off

The economy produced a robust 266,000 new jobs in November and the unemployment rate returned to a 50-year low, reflecting the resilience of the U.S. labor market.

The increase in employment — the biggest since January — was partly inflated by the return of nearly 50,000 striking auto workers at General Motors GM, +1.20%. Yet it was still a surprisingly strong report. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch had predicted a more modest 180,000 gain.

Hiring was strong almost across the board, with health care, hospitality and professional occupations leading the way.

The unemployment rate dipped to 3.5% from 3.6% to match the lowest level since the end of 1969.

From the YCMTSU file: Pelosi is now moving the impeachment goal posts full circle to the Russia meme, saying Trump withheld military aid to Ukraine to benefit Putin/Russia. Well, if that’s true, then what do you make of the fact that Obama told Medvedev to tell Vladimer he would have more flexibility after the (2012) election. Then he withheld military aid to Ukraine for the remainder of his presidency? Oops! I’ve always thought that Pelosi was more shrewd than smart, but I never thought she was THIS STUPID!

    • Amazona December 6, 2019 / 6:13 pm

Trump is the only president to provide military aid to Ukraine to help it fend off Russian attacks. That doesn’t seem like a very good way to benefit Russia. There is nothing to indicate that the aid provided on September 11 was essential to defense or was spent on defense.

    • Cluster December 6, 2019 / 7:17 pm

There was never any delay in the delivery of Javelins of which Obama would never provide in fear of upsetting Russia. The problem with the acronym YCMTSU is the fact the Democrats ARE MAKING THIS SHIT UP

So I just heard Mike Bloomberg say something that needs more attention. When asked why his reporters at his company are not investigating him or other Dem POTUS candidates he said “they draw a paycheck and with that comes restrictions and responsibilities” … holy sh*t. And no liberal media of any kind is pushing back. Remember when Ben Rhodes with the Obama admin said of reporters “they are know nothing 27 year olds and will print anything I tell them too” ??

    Free press my ass.

I think it’s time to start ridiculing Pelosi and Schiff and Nadler—-openly, harshly making fun of them. I think it’s time to start saying things like “They aren’t even trying to make sense any more.” “Nancy Pelosi is completely unmoored from reality, Adam Schiff wouldn’t know the truth if he fell over it and Jerrold Nadler wouldn’t even look for the truth unless it was in a bucket of fried chicken”. I’d hammer the Thought Police aspect: “These people want to impeach the president not because of what he said but because of how they felt about what they thought he really meant” and “when we start to punish people for what they say instead of what they do, like they are trying to do in their frantic silly efforts to accuse the president of obstruction of justice, then every citizen in this country needs to be worried because if the Thought Police can go after the president they can go after anyone”.

    • Cluster December 7, 2019 / 12:01 am
