Kim Jong Un-Dead Open Thread

As of this moment, no real word on whether the man is dead, or not. But the fact that he hasn’t appeared in public to scotch the rumors indicates that he might have assumed room temperature. We can’t be sure of anything – not if he’s alive or dead and, if dead, what caused the demise. Official rumor is he went in for surgery and either died on the table or went into a coma…but maybe his sister and putative successor got tired of waiting for the throne? Who knows? We’ll just have to wait and see.

As for lockdowns: I’m starting to think we made a mistake. A completely understandable mistake, but one nonetheless. Next time, I think we should just go with masks, social distancing and the closure of events and venues where people crowd close together…and even then, if it can be managed with social distancing, it should be allowed; you know, a bar which has a capacity for 80 persons would be reduced to 20 persons during a pandemic, that sort of thing. A spirit of rebellion is growing – but slowly: people are worried and so still willing to put up with it. But try to extend this past, say, May 15th, and you might spark a revolution.

Joe “Fingers” Biden is in more trouble that most suspect – “most” being Democrats and Never Trump. I just don’t get how they think then can sell this guy to the public. He’s never been ragingly popular. He has no particular achievements to his name. He’s a life-long politician in a nation rather tired of such. He’s got all sorts of corruption issues and, lets face it, he likes to get handsy with the ladies, to say the least. As to whether or not he’s guilty of the alleged assault – we’ll never know for certain: it is alleged to have happened 27 years ago. On the other hand, there is more corroborating evidence – by far – of the accusation against Biden than there ever was against Kavanaugh. But here are our Democrats and Never Trumpers – backed up by the MSM stenographers – trying to downplay this. Do they not realize that Trump already has $240 million in the bank for the Fall campaign and he has absolutely no qualms about hitting his opponent with everything he’s got? Rely on it: Trump will bring all this stuff up – in ads and at the debates.

Speaking of which, there is now a bit of an effort – in the name of Coronavirus – to cancel the conventions. Just trying to keep us safe, ya dig? The reality: the Democrats are terrified of the prospect of Biden trying to make it through an hour-long, prime time speech.

The Experts are still assuring us that Biden has it in the bag: but even as they write their pieces, you can feel the fear in them: they know they are whistling past the graveyard. Everyone knows that any poll which has more Democrats than GOPers in the mix is pie-in-the-sky nonsense…and the only polls showing Biden ahead are polls with very much more Democrats than GOPers. I think they are just hoping that something will turn up – something which will doom Trump or some change in the Democrat ticket which will make their dreams come true. I discount rumors that Democrats are seeking to replace Biden – any attempt to do so would open up a can of worms Democrats would prefer to keep shut: every power broker in the insane Democrat coalition would insist upon their views being accepted before they’d sign off on a Biden replacement.

Is the office as we know it going for good? Its an interesting thought. As for me, I’d bribe my boss to be able to continue work-from-home. There is zero upside for me in going to sit in a cubicle every day when I can do my work better and faster at my desk at home. Now, some people feel they can’t be fully productive without the structure of the office – I know a guy who as fired as work-from-home because he was consistently late getting to work – but I ain’t one of them. We’ll see how it comes out – but telecommuting is the thing for me. Let me do that, and I might not retire unless and until I lose my marbles.

I think severe restrictions only make sense when a virus is so new we really don’t know how serious it is or what can be done for people who get it. Once we have a better idea of how lethal it is, what demographics are most vulnerable, and most of all if there are any reliable treatments then it should be business as usual. The more people who are affected by the virus the more community, or herd, immunity is built up.

I was only afraid of this virus when I thought it struck quickly and lethally in the lungs and no one knew what to do about it. Now that we know the pulmonary complications are not due to the virus itself but to the body’s overreaction to it, and we have drugs already used to deal with autoimmune attacks like this, plus the ability to test to see if an individual is susceptible to this kind of autoimmune storm, I feel much less concerned about becoming infected even though I am in a high risk category.

I am more skeptical of this bullshit virus then I ever have been and the deeper we get into this “crisis” the more it doesn’t pass the smell test:

Nearly everything we’ve been told about models, rates of infection, deaths, and recoveries was inaccurate. I’m not here to argue that it was malfeasance or ignorance — both are unacceptable.

Also have you noticed that despite the leveling off of numbers and the all the good news out there re: recoveries, immunities, and potential vaccines, the media is still in full blown hysteria? Curious isn’t it? Not really, the media lies every hour of everyday. In reality, our government encouraged by global institutions weaponized the flu season in an effort to quell uprisings and destroy economies and to regain control of the populations and the narratives:

The death rate in New York State isn’t 7.4%, it is actually .75%. The recently ended influenza season numbers from the CDC indicate possibly 56,000,000 cases of flu, 740,000 hospitalizations, and 62,000 deaths. Under the current count from the Johns Hopkins Dashboard in this five month stretch CoVid19 has racked up 845,959 confirmed cases, 122,000 hospitalizations and 46,972 deaths.

The seasonal flu is still recording much larger numbers than Covid-19. Do any of us honestly think that our government cares about our lives?? Remember this is the same government that sold out our manufacturing base and jobs, refused to secure the southern border, ignored the opioid crisis, and did nothing on human trafficking or inner city crime. When was the last time you heard any politician speak to the dangers of single parent families and the financial blight of our inner urban areas?

And here is something else our “experts” missed:

Since going into national lockdown we’ve also failed one other key component of recovery from this virus—herd immunity. We’ve developed not nearly enough of it. For if 2.5 million New Yorkers were able to fight it off without any treatment at all—unaware they even had it—how much more immunity did we miss out on creating by simply sheltering everyone in place?

Herd immunity is virology 101 isn’t it?? Why have our “experts’ never discussed or proposed this?

Let’s shove this virus down the collective throats of our media and our “experts” and move this country forward without them. In my opinion, they don’t deserve what our forefathers gave them.

We know about the shortages of things like toilet paper as people panicked and basically went nuts. I am learning that there is another commodity they seemed to think they needed so desperately they had to sweep the shelves bare: yeast. Yes, plain old baking yeast. I have a feeling that most of it was bought by people who have never baked and never will bake, but if “yeast” was on the Preppers For Dummies list by damn they rushed out and bought all they could.

Now the markets can’t even get it to restock. Amazon is price gouging on the usual little packets.

The thing is, yeast goes bad. It is a living organism and it just loses its potency over time. So all these panic hoarders are going to find themselves with plenty of dead yeast—not that they knew what to do with it anyway. I finally ordered a one-pound block and will spend a lot of time this week repackaging it into usable portions, labeling and dating it and freezing it, which is supposed to extend its life.

I have a feeling those paranoid maskers giving the rest of us the stink-eye and preening in their imagined superior morality and civic duty also have boxes and boxes of dying yeast sitting at home.

But there is some good news:

From a new article: For most people who test positive for COVID, “medical care is not even necessary. In fact, infected people without severe illness are the immediately available vehicle for establishing widespread immunity. By transmitting the virus to others in the low-risk group who then generate antibodies, they block the network of pathways toward the most vulnerable people, ultimately ending the threat. Extending whole-population isolation would directly prevent that widespread immunity from developing.”

I saw that interview with the Stanford doc. Very interesting and strange that we just seem to be going down the path advocated by those two HUGE Democrat donors Fauci and Birx and not listening to other professionals and their alternative suggestions

      • Amazona April 26, 2020 / 5:02 pm

Maybe it’s time to say, regarding your comment about Democrat donors Fauci and Birx and saying “They are really nice people with extensive backgrounds in their fields, but those fields do not include economics or government and it’s time to start paying attention to the real problems this nation is facing. Unfortunately, following their advice has also led us to the brink of Leftist tyranny in many states, and we have to put a stop to that now.” And let others, NOT Trump, point out their political leanings.

I think we should call off the 2020 election. It’s much more important to keep people safe than to vote right? I mean people might get sick and die and Lord knows we can’t have that. Besides voting Democrat is equal to unleashing yet another deadly virus.

    • Retired Spook April 26, 2020 / 2:37 pm

      ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!

    • Amazona April 26, 2020 / 5:08 pm

Surely you all remember that back when W was elected the Left immediately started “predicting” that he would cancel the next election, would mount a military coup and take over the government, blah blah blah. Then when we did have an election, and he won again, they howled that he would simply refuse to leave office. They started in with the same old same old the day Trump was inaugurated, and have been falling back on it in between efforts to just throw him out of office.

What I think you are saying is that we should agree with the Dems that the most important thing is to keep even a single new case of Corona Virus from occurring, and they are right, we should just not have the election until we are guaranteed the virus is completely, without question, dead in its tracks. Dead as the Monty Python parrot. Dead as a doornail. They are right—-but it has to be their position. Let a conservative mention canceling the election and we will be hearing about Lenin and Hitler.

      • Mark Moser April 29, 2020 / 10:10 am

Well, I would say we now know what it is like when one side of the political spectrum refuses to relinquish power after losing an election. Ask Flynn about the dangers associated with that. If nothing else, Trump’s election has shown us what such a refusal looks like in real time.

Saw the following posted on a community board this morning ….. spot on

    1. I don’t wear a face mask because…It’s the perfect breeding ground for bacteria that can end up in your mouth and down into your lungs (hello upper respiratory infection anyone!?)

    2. I don’t wear gloves because… I have enough brains to realize I’d have to change gloves every time I touched something else, otherwise it’s just cross contamination with the same gloves…

    3. I do social distancing because…I respect others personal space, but not because I’m afraid of my fellow Americans or neighbors. In fact, I’ll happily hug someone right now in public if it was a mutual feeling. Hugging also releases endorphins which uplifts mood and relieves stress…there’s a bunch of stress going on right now.

    4. I don’t get the flu vaccine because…(in regards to coronavirus) I don’t want to increase my chances of getting an upper respiratory illness including 4 strains of coronavirus by 36%.

    5. I won’t get tested even if I show symptoms because…I already know they will label it Covid19 without an actual test and I’ll be added to the jaded numbers increasing panic over something I may or may not truly have…plus they’ll just tell me to go home and walk it off…but rest assured I have brains enough to stay home and away from people when sick or have symptoms of being sick.

    6. I wash my hands with soap and water because…well, that’s just common sense.

    7. I WILL NOT GET THE VACCINE! The gov has never mandated a vaccine and I’ll be damned if they make me put something in my body, that was created in less than 2 weeks of this “outbreak”. I’m not a sheep and will not be manipulated by the gov into thinking they have our best interest.

    8. I will not live in fear, for I know that I am enough and I am capable of navigating anything I’m faced with. If you want to stay in your house and never go out because you are “doing the right thing” that’s fine, that’s you. But I’m not going to let the media scare me into thinking this is mass panic. That’s what they want, to shut this country down and they’re doing it right in front of your face. I will continue to go out and support locals as much as possible. Life by consciousness not fear.

Start researching…you have all the time in the world. Turn off the news and start researching from sources that have NO financial gain or conflict of interest…you will learn quite a bit, and you will realize you’ve been lied to and manipulated.

    Bill Gates:

“China did a lot of things right at the beginning, like any country where a virus first shows up,’ Bill Gates, the Microsoft co-founder, told CNN on Sunday. Gates, one of the world’s richest men, said that the US handled its COVID-19 response ‘particularly poorly’ compared to other countries that have minimized the economic damage. ‘You know, some countries did respond very quickly and get their testing in place, and they avoided the incredible economic pain,’ he said. ‘It’s sad that even the US that you would have expected to do this well did it particularly poorly. But it’s not time to talk about that.’

It’s not time to talk about that? Why Bill? Now is the perfect time. I want to know why the CDC and other “experts” were not stocking our national shelves with masks, gloves, gowns, and ventilators particularly following the 2009 swine flu pandemic and the constant warnings, by you and other WHO officials, of another possible pandemic. That would have been between 2010 and 2016 when Trump was a private citizen and you were the worlds richest concerned citizen, so what were you doing Bill? Why were you not making sure our country was prepared?? You call yourself an expert and have partnered with WHO for a long time so please explain Bill. We are all waiting.

This is a simple yet accurate explanation of how it was that oil traded at negative $37/brl. last week.

Thompson Energy analysis UNDERSTANDING Crude Oil trading at minus -$37

Imagine the following scenario: You pay $500 today and commit to receiving an hooker at your house in 15 days because your wife is traveling. This is called a Futures Contract.

Unfortunately, lockdown came and you are locked down with your wife at home for the next 60 days. This is called “now you are fu*ked,” and you cannot fulfill the escort company’s Futures Contract

So now you do not want this woman to show up at your house at all, and try to find anyone of your friends to pass off this futures contract, any neighbors or, anybody… But you find no takers because now everybody is under lockdown with their wives and families. You find you cannot sell this hooker commitment because nobody can take delivery of the girl, and there is no where to stash her. Nobody can receive the hooker at home anymore. Everyone is in full storage.

To make matters worse, not even the pimp (Chicago Mercantile exchange) who sold you the hooker contract has more room to receive girls because his house is full of girls out of work under lockdown.

So now you will pay anyone just to take the girl off your hands. So someone tells you I will take the girl off your hands but you pay me 37 dollars to do it. This is called negative price when you deliver the girl that cost you $500 to the willing buyer and pay him 37 dollars to take delivery.

This in a nutshell what happened to the Oil Futures Market last week.

    No need to thank me…

    • Cluster April 28, 2020 / 9:01 am

This is called a Futures Contract.

LMAO … I always wondered what that was called.

Isn’t it a little surreal that according to MSNBC and CNN there is NO OTHER news around the world worthy of reporting on. They have become 24/7 Covid-19 and have dissected every word Trump has ever said about the issue both in, and out of context. But that’s it, no other news is going on … no Durham investigation, no legitimate sexual assault claim against Biden, no stories on rural hospitals laying off staff and closing, and certainly no reporting on the dangers of people losing their livelihoods. Yup, our media really cares and covers the pressing issues of today’s society. They really have their finger on the pulse of this country /SARC

As for lockdowns: I’m starting to think we made a mistake.

Two doctors from Bakersfield, CA, agree with you.

Interestingly, I no sooner watched this briefing on YouTube than this happened.

Brave new world here we come.

    • jdge1 April 28, 2020 / 11:11 am

Of course YouTube would restrict something of value. Seems most if not all social media has become tyrannical in their policies restricting anyone or anything that differs from their personal views.
