He decides 100% of what Executive branch policy will be and everyone in the Executive branch has to shut up and soldier, or quit. That is how it is supposed to be – and it is how it must be. Having IG’s who see their job as curbing the President – rather than rooting out lawbreakers and people refusing to carry out Administration policy – is insane. It must be stopped – and I’m glad Trump is finally stopping it.
Along these lines it has been noticed that in the whole Trump-Russia charade, Mitch McConnell has been rather AWOL. Don’t get me wrong: he’s good for a lot of things, but on this he’s been absent…and thus allowing people like the now-former Senate intel chief Burr have his way…and Burr’s way was to provide cover for the Deep State. Now that Burr is out of the committee due to his sordid financial trickery (and it seems to be raking in Feinstein, at least a bit), it is time for McConnell to think anew and act anew – as President Trump urged:

But this might help us flip a few House seats in November…and California will eventually become, if not Red, at least Purple. The Democrats are working hard to turn Texas Blue and they are having some success…but not as much as they want. Our church re-opened this morning. We have a small congregation — 50 on a good sunday, so “social distancing” wasn’t a problem. Felt weird not to shake anyone’s hand or give someone a hug. The were around 30 in attendance and not a single person was wearing a mask. I think when this is all over a thorough review of policies and procedures is going to reveal that masks were not only a huge waste of money but also made a lot of people sick.

The Democrat governor of Colorado is desperate to find some way to make up for the multi-billion dollar shortfall in tax revenue that was lurking, thanks to him and his bait-and-switch Dem legislature, essentially banning oil and gas exploration and production. It’s not just a warmer climate—Texas and Nevada have no state income tax, while Colorado’s is a flat 4.63% and probably due to rise thanks to the Dem legislature.
They have just spent what is probably close to 45 million dollars to destroy valuable community assets like the Convention Center and the Budweiser agricultural event center to convert them into expensive medical care centers for an onslaught of COVID-19 patients, where they are now not only standing empty and not even staffed but unavailable to generate tax revenue through their usual event schedules. While some of us might have considered choosing a hospital in each of the targeted areas and designating it a COVID center, seeing as how they are purpose-built buildings with existing hospital rooms, isolation wards, intensive care units, operating rooms, piped-in oxygen, monitoring equipment, nurses stations, AC and heating, ventilation systems and even kitchens and cafeterias, and having a plan in place to simply put other patients in (currently nearly empty) neighboring hospitals, the decision was made to raid the treasury for a massive boondoggle to create unnecessary redundancy as well as the need to spend at least that much to return these buildings to their intended uses, if they even decide to do that.
But what could typify the Dem attitude toward financial planning better than looking at dramatically reduced revenue and then deciding to spend more money?
More on the Colorado “repurposing” of community assets, allegedly to prepare for a massive onslaught of COVID-19 patients. I say “allegedly” because a little more digging unearthed what is, to me, a very unsettling statement that seems to signal a very upsetting agenda.
Even if the convention center is never used for hospital patients, Hancock said it would still be repurposed for other needs.
“If we’re not using them for medical, then we’ll find a way to use them for our most vulnerable that need shelter that continue to need shelter,” he said.
The state has signed a lease with backing from FEMA to pay the City and County of Denver $1.8 million a month for use of the convention center..
When I read this, what I get out of it is this: The state (ie: Polis and his radical lapdog legislature) are paying close to $2 million a month, backed by our federal tax dollars, for ongoing rent for something they know is probably not going to be needed for its stated purpose but which will then be used to house “our most vulnerable that need shelter and continue to need shelter”.
In other words, to house the homeless.
I still can’t find out what it is costing to retrofit the Convention Center.

No one is talking about the future of the equestrian and agricultural facility called The Ranch, in northern Colorado. I did find this, after other information a few weeks ago stating that the cost of conversion was about 13.5 million dollars.
According to previous reporting, The Ranch facility could have accommodated up to 1,060 beds. Rent for the space will be $24,500 a day, according to the lease. The tab for April will be $565,100; in May, it will be $761,670.
A $1.54 million grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency is being used to to pay the lease, according to Sen. Cory Gardner’s office, which announced the grant on Monday.
In other words, the Feds are using our tax dollars to pay for about two months rent on this facility, which is unoccupied and unstaffed. I wonder who will pick up the tab after this month. And more to the point, I wonder if there is any intent to return it to its original use, and/or to use it to dump a thousand homeless people on the community—to be housed and fed and cared for with more of our tax dollars.
There is so much grift and corruption going on with the first stimulus bill that Nancy got excited and wanted to throw another $3 trillion at it. It’s completely insane. Thankfully the Senate finally found a spending package they don’t like.
The Covid numbers today still don’t even come close to “pandemic” levels and our reaction to this has been embarrassing. I do think though that it has served a larger purpose … it woke us up to how badly our establishment class has sold us out to China over the last 30 years and it has exposed Democrats as the authoritarian intolerant we all knew them to be. Because even though people of all races and backgrounds are suffering, the disease in the United States has hit black and brown and Indigenous people the hardest, and we are seen as expendable.
Mara was just on MSNBC and she is not pleased with this country that has provided her a 6 figure salary and a very desirable job at the age of 33. She seems to think she is expendable but her care in the “broken” hospital and her national platform to voice her opinion would suggest otherwise, but don’t tell Mara. She is at her best when she is the victim and that’s a common thread with all Democrats. They create their own victim reality and then expect everyone else to live in it.

I noted her personal response to what the doctor said, which I took to be “all you need to do is go home and follow basic instructions and you will be fine” but what she took to mean “we just don’t have the ability to help you because this is such a bad health care system”. It’s all filters.
So she, in the arrogance of healthy youth and the narcissism of the compulsive runner, was surprised to find out what it is like to get really sick. And instead of dealing with it the way most of us do, because most of us endure this at one time or another, she sees it as a unique experience which was foisted upon her by an inferior health care system, which is, of course, due to politics.
And of course because she is black she faces bigger obstacles. The fact that she has a very good job with what is I am sure a very nice benefit package and pension plan doesn’t take away from her hardships. I remember football practice years ago and during the torturous “two a days” training during summer we would run constantly and the coach kept yelling out “the legs feed the wolf” meaning if you were not in shape, your performance would reflect that especially in the 4th quarter.
People need to be mindful of their own health, both physical and mental, and we should use this virus to also extol the virtues of a healthy life style versus the hazards of smoking, obesity, drug use, etc. Wouldn’t that be common sense? Or have we all abandoned common sense? Asking for a friend.
We have often commented on the fact that so many on the Left go to great extremes to find lies and mental filth which they then incorporate into their belief systems and worldview. We wonder why they reject the good, the kind, the happy, the optimistic, the hopeful and instead are determined to wallow in the most negative emotions and beliefs imaginable. But that is the wolf they are feeding.
They want—no, they NEED—to believe the worst of Trump, that he is a traitor, that he colluded with a foreign nation to steal the election, that he told people to drink bleach, and so on. It is vitally important to them to believe these things, which is why even when faced with the facts they turn back to the lies. Like the horse running back into the burning barn because he has come to think of his stall as a place of safety, they rush back to the ugly and the hateful because they have come to see that as their own safe place, where they feel secure. They don’t feel HAPPY there, because they have chosen a path where there is little room for happiness unless it is the sour joy of watching someone they hate have problems, but that is not the simple clear happiness that comes from feeding the good wolf.
Sadly, they don’t understand that they can turn their backs on their wolf and start to encourage the other one. They seem to have a deep-seated fear of being lost, somehow, without that hostility and negativity to hang onto and guide them. I’ve been there, and remember that period of feeling adrift and unconnected to anything because I had rejected the lies of my (then) Democrat Party but couldn’t imagine ever thinking of myself as (ugh!) a REPUBLICAN!
As a society we have dodged that whole “personal responsibility” thing with the advent of the shift of attitude that comes from the concept of “shaming”.
No, the obese person with a lifestyle that has led to health problems cannot, should not, be held responsible for the consequences because that would be “shaming” him or her, which conveniently shifts the negative onto you for being so hateful instead of on him or her for being so negligent.
I think it’s important that this newly exposed fact gets the attention it demands:

So what’s the consequences? Should these media outlets lose their broadcasting license? I think that if a 77 year old barber in MI lost his business license because he “defied” Gov. Whitless’s decree, then I certainly think it’s fair that NBC and CNN lose their license to inform the public, particularly after it has been proven they lie and spread misinformation. What’s more harmful? A barber in MI giving haircuts? Or a national media outlet spreading lies?
It would sure be wonderful for these media outlets to be held accountable for their intentional lies. However, we must do so using the law and consistent practices of the law. Otherwise, if the left gets control of congress, you can be sure they will attempt every means possible to shut down right leaning news outlets.
What we will always run into is the distortion of the guarantee of freedom of the press. I think we will need a court case, or a few, and then a SCOTUS ruling on whether this is a pass to print lies. The thing is, the amendment itself was intended to allow the freedom to oppose the government, so it would come down to an argument about whether printing falsehoods to take down the government is protected, vs the right to simply publish opposing points of view.
The first step might be to remove protection from slander and libel liability, and to relax to some extent the rule that one must have to prove damage from the act.
I encourage everyone to start watching Morning Joe on MSNBC in the morning. Joe Scarborough is in the process of losing his mind. He is so maniacally obsessed with Trump that he goes on lengthy unhinged soliloquies full of exaggerations and half truths to the point you begin to think the mental health experts will be arriving soon.
What’s funny is the desperation they try and project onto Trump. How desperate he is; how mentally unhealthy he is; how out of touch he is; how corrupt he is; etc. in other words every known fact of Joe Biden is now being projected on to Trump. Equally humorous is their bewilderment of how rude Trump can be to the mindless propagandists in the press briefings. I guess they still believe that they are dealing with the old GOP … the Bush’s, McCain’s, Romney’s, etc, and that if they just keep up the attacks, we will fold. What they don’t get yet is just how much disdain we have for them, how dishonest we know them all to be, and how dangerous they are for this country. They still want to be considered our fellow citizens but that day is gone, they are now enemy combatants and that is how they will be treated. An FBI offer to pay former British spy Christopher Steele to collect intelligence on Michael Flynn in the weeks before the 2016 election has been one of the more overlooked revelations in a Justice Department inspector general’s report released in December.
The reference to the FBI proposal, which was made in an Oct. 3, 2016, meeting in an unidentified European city, has received virtually no press attention. But it might have new significance following the recent release of government documents that show that Steele peddled an unfounded rumor that Flynn had an extramarital affair with a Russian woman in the United Kingdom.
It is not clear how and when Steele came across the rumor, or if it was the result of the FBI asking him to look into Flynn.
The inspector general’s report, released on Dec. 9, 2019, said that FBI agents offered to pay Steele “significantly” to collect intelligence from three separate “buckets” that the bureau was pursuing as part of Crossfire Hurricane, its counterintelligence probe of four Trump campaign associates.
One bucket was “Additional intelligence/reporting on specific, named individuals (such as [Carter Page] or [Flynn]) involved in facilitating the Trump campaign-Russian relationship,” the IG report stated.
The FBI was working with a foreign operative to dig up dirt on a political rival of the incumbent President. In a non propagandist world, this story would be front page and leading all televised newscasts. Folks we live in a surreal time where our government and media elites are over exaggerating a flu virus and gleefully imposing punitive lock down measures while at the same time covering up criminal behavior of the political class.

This seems to ignore the fact that the FBI was already paying Steele for some other work he had been doing. I don’t remember exactly what it was, but this has been buried in all the hyperbole about the “dossier”, just as they buried the fact that Carter Page had been working for the CIA, funneling information to them he discovered in his dealings in Russia. Just as they ignored their knowledge that Page really worked for the government so they could attack him on claims he was spying against the government, they ignored the fact that they had been paying Steele (and evidently offering to pay him for additional work) and pretended that his dossier was just some objective analysis from some guy with international connections.
As for “It is not clear how and when Steele came across the rumor, or if it was the result of the FBI asking him to look into Flynn” this completely overlooks the historical fact that Steele didn’t HAVE to “come across” something to report it. He just made it up.

It’s even worse than that. An FBI lawyer physically altered the record when he was asked if Page was an asset of another intelligence agency.

Each morning as I cruise through the news reports I no longer see journalism. I see panels of prosecutors using selective and often disinformation to mount an incessant attack not only on the current administration, but on me by proxy. Their analyses of events are more jaded than plausible. They present or ignore facts based on preconceived narratives. They ignore substantive issues to dwell on petty matters – creating those proverbial mendacious mountains out of relatively meaningless molehills.
Much of our media now is simply gossip and propaganda. Period.
I go a step further, and suggest that it is gossip designed to advance propaganda
I am tired of being “mothered” …. time for the real men in this country to step up, risk our lives put this country back together again. And everyone afraid of that can just stay home. You were never needed in the first place.

Three Democratic members of the Staunton, Virginia, city council were ousted by Republicans on Tuesday despite receiving more votes than they did four years ago …. They’re all going one way — towards red, and no ballot-harvesting nor mail-in ballot schemes has been able to stop them. Again, it’s not a certainty that these special elections, all going the same way. are going to turn the sky red come November. but this is a sign of something big in the works.

I wonder if Fentanyl is more dangerous than Hydroxychlorquine? The media doctors never seemed too concerned with the amount of Fentanyl entering our country via the southern border but they are sounding the alarm and calling an FDA approved drug as extremely dangerous.
One media comment was that a side effect of hydroxychloroquine is death.
If true, I find this a bit disturbing.

I sure hope AG Barr has key people, if not teams of people, investigating these scandals. Hopefully the previous comment worded in such a way as to divert attention away from investigations that ARE happening and that we eventually (sooner than later?) start indictments and prosecution of real political criminals and their cohorts, and especially Obama if he broke the law, in particular to the extent he misused the federal government for personal and political gain.
I have a feeling this is based on the realization that proof will be hard to come by. Barry has been pretty slick when it has come to plausible deniability, and I think his minions would be happy to fall on their swords to protect him. Just look at the loyalty of some Clinton people, and Hillary is far less likable than Barry. He’s got so many firewalls built up around him, he probably is pretty bombproof. That’s not to say that when or if his associates all go down, with all the testimony pointing to him, he won’t suffer to some extent as his image is tarnished.
And prosecuting and then losing would be more damaging to the Right than not prosecuting. If his supporting cast of criminals is taken down. I heard someone on the radio the other day talking about something I thought sounded impossible, which was to win back the House and then impeach Obama. Not sure if the law says this can only be done to a sitting president, but if it were to be allowed it would be pretty great. Then HE would have this infamous asterisk after HIS name, and unlike Trump would not be acquitted by the Senate if no trial was held. Or, who knows. found guilty by the Senate, depending on the evidence, to have that on his record.
Though that would set a pretty horrible precedent, with each party reassuming power rushing to act out grievances against the outgoing president.
And that’s what Rush spoke to the other day and I have to reluctantly agree. We can’t go throwing ex Presidents in prison. That’s what banana republics do, but what we can do his hold his court of jesters accountable and prosecute and imprison them. Then the next time a rogue President wants to pursue something illegally, maybe the intel and justice bureaucrats will think twice. And by doing that, Obama’s legacy will have an asterisk.
If we’re not going to prosecute Obama and Biden (and I agree it would set a dangerous precedent), then I think a fitting punishment would be for AG Barr to hold a press conference and essentially do what Comey did for Hillary; list all of the crimes committed by Obama and Biden and then say something like, “but prosecuting former presidents and vice presidents is just not something we do in this country.”

Here’s my prediction, Trump will win about 45 states and he might win California. This is going to be a landslide and Nancy loses the House too and we keep the Senate. There have been 5 special elections in the last 2 weeks in CA, WI, and VA all seats held previously by Democrats but Republicans won every single one of them and some by double digits. The Democrats have no plan, no clue, and no chance.
I disagree. I’ve no doubt that “proof” would be hard to come by, as it typically is with cases that have many tentacles and firewalls put in place to protect the guilty. That however is NOT a reason to not investigate. That is the whole reason investigations are held. Whether or not an attempt to prosecute happens, it can only begin if evidence is gained, testimony is brought forth, particularly from key people who have much to lose and an actual case is built. This MUST be pursued. It is his job to investigate where the probability of a serious crime was committed. Failure to do so is a failure to perform the basic tenants of the job. If he’s not up to let him step down. But to make such a statement, especially with the things we’re seeing almost daily coming to light, is to a TOTAL failure of the justice department. To say we can’t or won’t prosecute a former President or Vice President leaves them above the law and allows a destructive process to thrive. The left has absolutely no problem attempting to go after a sitting President and many of his key people. And we’re feeling uneasy about investigating a former President because we might not be able to find enough proof to get a conviction? That’s really backwards mentality IMHO.
