I guess the city of Bakhmut, Ukraine has fallen and the Russians are hailing their victory while the Ukrainians are saying they never really wanted to hold it. The bottom line, for me, is that Russia has definitely resumed advancing and the Ukrainians aren’t able to stop it so far. No breakthrough, but a war of attrition where the Russians are just grinding the Ukrainians down…though such eventually does lead to a breakthrough as the weaker side can never sustain this kind of fight forever. Meanwhile, everyone on the Ukraine side gets ever more hysterical about how we have to support Ukraine. I think it is time for negotiations. Unless Zelensky has something big up his sleeve, offensive-wise, better to quit now rather than wait until there’s nothing left between the Russians and Kiev.

Argentina has ripped up its Falklands agreement with Britain and is demanding negotiations over sovereignty. This is what I mean about just staying the heck out of foreign problems: most of them are stupid. The bottom line is that whatever theoretical legal right Argentina received from Spain to the Islands, there never was a permanent, indigenous population of the Falklands until the Brits showed up in the 1830’s. The people who live there going back nearly two centuries have never had any connection to Argentina. They consider themselves British. The speak English. When asked in a plebiscite what they preferred, more than 98% voted to stay under British rule. But Argentina likes to get all fussy about it – and they are getting fussy about it shortly after HMS Queen Elizabeth became operational which means if they decide to start shooting over it, they’ll lose (the Royal Navy is a shadow of her formal self, but most of Argentina’s navy is laid up in port; and they don’t have a naval air arm to speak of). Amazing how stupid people can be, and for all the wrong reasons.

Kellyanne and George Conway have called it quits – which is kinda sad but very understandable. George acted like an a** during the Trump years and Kellyanne has allowed herself to be squired around by the likes of Cuomo recently. Really its all rather pathetic.

The Left is still trying to sell the notion that the Second Amendment only secured a right to bear arms to the Militia, which is now the National Guard. Of course it is absurd, but lots of people are fierce in their faith about the Militia having the right. It isn’t just propaganda doing this – it is propaganda directed a population which is barely literate and almost entirely ignorant of American history. We can’t get control of the schools fast enough. This is a terrible problem and it will harm us politically…but if we control the schools it is literally just a few years before the problem is fixed.

RDS has put out a video which is “I’m running” without saying the actual words, “I’m running”.

I’m increasingly positive that the Left overstepped on the trans issue – and it is women leading the backlash. Which is proper as women are being erased to accommodate trans women. It is very irritating, isn’t it? What is clearly a man winning women’s sporting contests, Hershey and other woke corporations using trans women as spokespeople for women’s issues. I mean, seriously: who thought this would be a good idea? Oh, yeah: Progressives did. Never forget that as ruthless and cruel as they are, they are also monumentally stupid.

DeSantis sure has the Libs freaking out. You can tell by their recycling of old memes, like “Republicans tell me this bad thing about him….” Along with calling him a “fascist” (now there’s an original epithet!) and a “dictator” one of the funniest claims is that he is not qualified to be president because of lack of “experience”. (You know, the kind of valuable experience Obama had after a couple of months in his first term as a Senator in his first elected office, when he was first touted as “The One We Have All Been Waiting For” and promoted as a presidential candidate.)

Well, he had many kinds of legal experience as an actual practicing attorney (as opposed to being handed a token “job” at a law firm) in the military and then he was assigned to SEAL Team One and deployed to Iraq with the troop surge as the legal advisor to the SEAL Commander of the Special Operations Task Force-West in Fallujah. After that he was Special Assistant U.S. attorney and then served in the United States House of Representatives. (Actually served, not just voting “present”.) He started giving clues about his political philosophy when he sponsored a bill which would have required the United States Department of Justice to report to Congress whenever any federal agency refrains from enforcing laws for any reason, and was a founding member of the Freedom Caucus.

Oh, yeah, then there’s the record of being the most effective governor in the country for five years.

Hmmm. Military experience, legal experience, legislative experience, political executive experience…who else can match that?

And that is why the Left has suddenly realized they need to turn their efforts into doing to him what they have been trying to do to Trump. Unfortunately, he scares Trump as much as he does the Left, so Trump is actually working with the Dems on this effort—“the enemy of my enemy is my friend” ???

Still nothing for E. Palestine, OH from Scranton Joe. He really is a blue collar guy.

At an East Palestine town meeting: “I’m begging you. By the grace of God, please get our people out of here,” screamed one East Palestine resident.”

This resident did not scream this at Joe Biden, or at Pete Buttigieg—they weren’t there. A hapless railroad exec was sent, as a human sacrifice, but what could he do except say “Ooops” and “We’re sorry”?

Now we can add Helmet Justice to the ever-growing list of racist insults.

Evidently some black horseback riders have trouble fitting their large and elaborate hairstyles into the snug riding helmets available now. And this is JUST. NOT. FAIR. Worse, it’s racist. The New York Times is happy to explain this to us.

Helmets have to fit snugly to be effective. A loose, floppy helmet is a danger all its own. Carving out the padding (the article calls it the “lining”) to make room for a bunch of hair basically negates the effectiveness of the helmet. And so would making a big bubble-helmet designed to fit over “natural” hair. Wait till a big helmet designed to fit over massive dreadlocks slides forward over the face when the rider falls on her back, breaking the nose (at the very least, if not the neck) and you’ll see an immediate lawsuit for making a helmet designed specifically to harm black people. It will never end.

This is just the latest example of what happens in a society in which children are brought to up to believe that they should always get what they want. They won’t adapt to the situation—-the situation has to adapt to them.

The Daily Wire announced that just after 7:30 p.m. CT — roughly 12 hours after announcing the launch of Jeremy’s Chocolate — the company had already sold over 100,000 chocolate bars.
    …………………….

“Fine, I’ll do it,” Boreing tweeted. “Introducing Jeremy’s Chocolate. Yes, it’s real. We have two kinds: HeHim and SheHer. One of them has nuts. If you need me to tell you which one, keep buying Hershey’s. But if you know what a woman is and love chocolate, go to: ihatehersheys.com.”

Zero Students in Twin Cities Public Schools Are Proficient in Math

It seems students in democrat run cities are deficient in most every subject, History, Math, English Science… That parents aren’t fighting harder for the future of their children and country is shamefully sad.

    Interest response from that article.
Seven out of every four Fascist Democrats are dumber than the other three. If you can solve that equation, you are one of them.

The Fascist Democrats are training the next generation of illiterate Democrat voters and teaching them to hate their country. The only country on earth where the government is required to protect your God given Right To Free Speech.

    Vladimir Lenin;
“Hatred is the basis of communism. Children must be taught to hate their parents if they are not communists.”
“Our program necessarily includes the propaganda of atheism. ”
“The goal of socialism is communism.”

    Karl Marx;
“Keep people from their history, and they are easily controlled.”
“My object in life is to dethrone God and destroy capitalism.”

The people pushing this tripe to our children are what Lenin called his “useful idiots”.

The most shocking thing about the Covid response was the number of doctors and nurses – real doctors and nurses – who were asserting that masks work. Nobody with what in my day was high school biology thought that masks would work – we knew why doctors started using masks: to keep bacteria from the doctor out of the patient, especially during a surgical procedure (this is why your doctor when giving you a physical didn’t wear a mask: as close as that intimate contact was, there was little risk the doctor would infect you or vice versa). Properly trained medical personnel – real doctors and nurses – would have rebelled against such drivel. Some did; and that told you how few and far between are real medical professionals. I suspect that most people with degrees in medicine and nursing have been trained by rote method and so don’t really understand medicine…for them it is an, “if this, then that” sort of thing. In some ways requiring even less skill and thought than a mechanic. There are some fantastic doctors out there – but I’ll bet most of their real learning came from within…they took the extra steps to learn it deeply. Most just check off the boxes through school, get their degrees and just do what the chart says…and malpractice insurance covers the rest. I remember my father nearly died in 2005 and I got him to my doctor (now retired) and she figured out quickly that the battery of medications prescribed were all of the wrong doses…she worked up a full report on dad’s condition, modified the medications to suit my father’s actual needs and the man lived four more years. The other doctors dad had dealt with had just prescribed on, “well, he’s got an artificial valve and the chart says he should take this dose of that”. Real doctors know that every person is a little bit different and so while the standard may be this, what is needed might be different. And, of course, for insurance purposes, if the doctor does what the book says, they’re in the clear.

It must be kept in mind that before a person could get into college 125 years ago, they had to know a bit of Latin and Greek, have what we would call advanced placement math and history knowledge…and they had already read most of the classics of literature and been exposed to thinkers such as Aristotle and Aquinas. These days, you can be barely literate and get into college…and graduate in no different condition. To be sure, the skill set necessary to be a doctor, at all, means that a person with a medical degree does have more knowledge and ability than the “studies” graduate…but I bet not much more these days and, even worse, never in all the course of education has the graduate been taught to think. If they are thinkers, it is because they did it on their own…and probably pissed off their ignorant teachers.

We’re getting very dumb as a society – less capable by the year. More ignorant and bigoted in the worst sense of the word. We must get control of the schools or our civilization will die.

Side note: we’ve all heard tales of Chinese kids learning advanced math while ours learn pronouns…but I advise all to take that with a grain of salt: again and again newly constructed buildings in China just fall over. China is very tight lipped about their space program but rumors abound of catastrophic failures covered up. The last thing the CCP will do is teach their kids to think – thinking is dangerous! They may know how to do sums, but they lack that extra bit of thought which allows you to apply the sums to real world applications. They’re dying of ignorance, too.

Having been to the Falklands a couple of times, I can tell you that the people there will never submit to Argentina. Best if the Argentines give it up. Loved visiting both countries and an’t see how a war benefits anyone.

It only benefits posturing politicians…and the sort of pub-patriots who think their nation is great based on territorial possession. But this is just extra ridiculous…it would be like the USA willing to fight over possession of 54’40″…maybe at some time in the distant past we had some legal title to it, but it is long gone.

Under the general heading of “Be Afraid—-Be Very Afraid” we learn that the Army has, yet again, failed to meet its recruiting goal by 25%. But, to restore our faith in our military leadership, the Army has solved this problem:

Things will be better in 2024 because the Army has asked to reduce its end strength to 473,000, so they’ll come closer to making their recruiting goal. In addition to cutting end strength, the Army plans to focus on recruiting more women and immigrants to compensate for the loss of the evil, retrograde, and disfavored pale, penis people hailing from rural America. The people who have historically been the backbone of the Army but who are now told they are no longer welcome. The biggest enemy the Army has to combat right now is sexual harassment, a self-inflicted wound brought on by the Army’s own policies.

I feel so much safer now………….

Ford Wants to Lock Out Drivers Who Are Late on Payments

Well, there’s a way to encourage sales and retain loyal customers or gain new ones. But even more interesting is the reason for this move.

The company’s need to enforce its repayment plans more strictly may relate, in part, to the financial struggles it has faced with its transition to electric vehicles.

In July 2022, Ford announced its plan to lay off some 8,000 workers in order to help free up $3 billion in costs for converting its factories to produce electric vehicles. It also planned to apply for $134 million in government subsidies.

So not only are you going to piss off potential customers, you’re going to layoff a good chunk of employees to fix you electric vehicle revenue problems. Smart move – not. Way to go woke.

Plus, I wonder if there will be any liability for when people who own such vehicles are trying to get to a place like the hospital emergency room and can’t due to their vehicle being disabled, especially if the there’s a glitch that unintentionally takes out a wrong vehicle.

This is already being done. When I bought a new HP printer a little over a year ago I foolishly fell for the sales pitch about saving money by signing up for their ink delivery program. Well, at the time I would go weeks without printing anything and then print a lot, so I ran out of the subscription ink and bought some, which deeply offended HP, and then I was in either Wyoming or Florida and not printing anything. Then they shut down my printer.

Yes, I can no longer print on my paid-for HP printer until I catch up on unneeded subscription ink—for a printer in Colorado while I am in Florida. Can’t I just cancel my subscription? Sure—with a penalty equaling the price I paid for the printer. I had unhooked my Epson printer because when I didn’t use it for a while it took forever for the print heads to clean themselves, but when I get back the HP goes on a shelf and the Epson comes back into play.

HP is now on my “No Way, No How” list. Any company exerting remote control over any aspect of my life—-ditto.

The bumbling fumbling ineptitude of law enforcement is pretty alarming, though in this case they may not have had time to set up an effective net to capture these terrorists. But when so many escape by running into the woods, it does seem logical to have people stationed in the woods to intercept them. At least many were captured and charged, and if they will just follow through on this and not let them go, that will be a start.

This is odd. To be an asset, one has to have something to offer—-inside information, connections, an office that allows access to important information, etc. Barry Soetero had none of these.

Once he became Barack Obama and President of the United States, he would have been an important asset, but by that time he was apparently not acting covertly, passing information to our enemies (though he may have been) he was openly acting to undermine our government and culture.
