Goes along with our realization after Butler that you don’t need a gigantic conspiracy…just a few people have to be in the know if you can also arrange it that security is lax and sort of walk your target into range. A few days back I just happened across the TV news coverage of Bobby Kennedy’s assassination and it was all so very odd that it just seemed to happen…but then you find out that he had planned to go one way which would have entirely missed Sirhan but last second (likely literally “hey, Bobby, walk this way” kind of last second) it was changed to a path which walked him right up to get shot. Sheer happenstance, of course. Right? Back in those days no Secret Service protection for candidates but, also, it wasn’t like there weren’t LAPD cops around. There was security…and a “lone nut” managed to get into the kitchen of the hotel as someone decided RFK should walk right down the path to the killer.
We really don’t know, do we? That is, so much nonsense has been piled up over an 80 year period (and so much of the supporting documents are long gone, as are the people who were involved) that we can’t unwind it all. This does give free play to the conspiracy theorists – and as I’ve said before, I think at least some of the conspiracy theories are floated by the guilty to deflect attention from the real crime. But what I think a lot of people don’t fully realize is just how much our alleged leaders are complete zeros. Nincompoops. Barely literate morons who probably can’t change a tire. Do we really think that Nancy Pelosi figured out how to make all that money? She’s worth $640 million. She’s got a BA in Political Science; even if standards were more rigorous back in her day, its not the sort of degree that makes you the wolf of Wall Street. Also, just listen to her – has anything she said ever sounded like there was thought behind it? It is all just propaganda points mindlessly repeated until revised points are provided. On and on like that go our leaders – and, yes, including a lot of GOP leaders, as well (though the GOP does have some actual intellectual power in it). They’re morons doing what they’re told and being rewarded with untold riches if they toe the line…meanwhile, someone who might change thing gets off the ranch…Dallas, Los Angeles, Butler (close one!).
I hear that the Islamist who rammed his car into a German pride parade is a man who was under investigation for planning terrorism, fled to Lebanon to escape justice and then was deliberately brought back to Germany. Word is he was scheduled to start taking de-radicalization training soon. Just amazing – and shows how much the global ruling class really hates the West…and how stupid they are. I have little hope the Europeans will rise up but if they do (and it would only take 1% of them rising up to overthrow the system) then what will happen to the ruling class will make the Great Terror of the French Revolution look tame. Oh, and at the vigil for the victims one speaker was hoping the attacker was a white Christian instead of an Islamist…
I guess Chicago was subsidizing private grocery stores to the tune of $14 million and those stores have now shut down. Reminder: those stores were opened because the chains figured there was EBT to rake in. And there was. For years. But the welfare bums – who often as not just illegally convert their EBT to cash for 50 cents on the dollar – started stealing so much the stores lost money…and then continued to lose money even after they were hooked up to taxpayer dollars. Naturally, “leaders” of the local community are upset…though none of them are calling for the arrest of shoplifters (its better than even money that the “leaders” are actually gangsters who organize the shoplifting; their actual complaint is loss of easy targets for looting).

It would be interesting to have a private citizen group spring a pop quiz on both houses of Congress, say give the the U.S. citizenship test, and see how they do. I’ll bet the results would back up your statement.
Yep – I bet, for instance, if we asked Mamdani to tell us the size and population of the USA he wouldn’t get it right within 50%. To be fair, a huge portion of the American population would be in the same boat: modern education is atrocious, after all. But Ralph down at the gas station isn’t governing a city of 8 million people.
Finally, a simple explanation for why I don’t believe much of anything I read, see or hear from the media.
It still astonishes me that anyone takes the MSM seriously. There are only a tiny number in the MSM who are in any way reliable…suppose there are 10,000 altogether you might find 20 that are worth listening to. And even there, you have to be careful…because even if they don’t overtly lie, there are still some things they just won’t say because saying them would cost them their gig. But here we are end of July 2026 and after all that’s gone on we have plenty of Right voices going “did you see this MSM poll???? This MSM article??? They say we’re doomed, doomed I tell you for November!!!!!”.
Hey, maybe we are doomed. We’ll find out. But to take an MSM poll or news report as the basis for believing we’re doomed is just downright stupid. Honestly, I think they’re paid to be that stupid…that is, someone on the Left or in the RINO camp is paying these people to Doom about our chances. At least, I hope they’re being paid because if they’re honestly being that stupid, then it is a human tragedy of epic proportions.
Meanwhile, the Democrats are broke, the GOP floats on cash while the Democrats have shackled themselves to far Left nutcases. We’ll see how that plays out over the next 100 days.
This is why I stopped referring to the alleged “Mainstream Media” years ago, as the media in question have little to no relationship to “mainstream” America. They are still fighting to be relevant, but are losing ground every day. Much of what they do involves praising each other, trying to pump up an impression of legitimacy. Do a Google search and you will be told there are hundreds, at least, of sources on your topic, and you will see that there was one article and the other “sources” just reference that original article.
Did you see any of that recent Musk interview? Can’t remember the name of the news actor who was interviewing him but he pointed out to her that she and her profession are despised and you could tell she was incredulous…simply could not believe it. It could very well be that that they’re in such a bubble they don’t know they’re despised…and laughed at when not hated.
Also, was hoping for your take on the MK Ultra thing!

I’ve mentioned liking, for the most part, John Kiriakou, who has been doing a great job of self-promotion as he rebuilds his life after the CIA back stabbing that bankrupted him and put him in prison. As a former CIA field agent who also spent a lot of upper-level desk time with the Agency, he has a lot of fascinating stories, and he’s a likable-enough guy to be easy to watch. He’s a little flighty, though, sometimes. I can understand why he was such a McCain fan—McCain supported him, and I appreciate loyalty. Kiriakou has a definite tendency toward Identity Politics, as he seems to base a lot of his opinions on who he gets along with–for example, I understand his love of Tucker Carlson, because Tucker gave him a platform and lot of support and Tucker is a rather charismatic guy. I still like Tucker, in spite of his wild veering off the rails, and he and Kiriakou share a hatred of Israel, which I guess can be a bonding thing. But then he said he thought Tucker would be an amazing president, and that is when he went beyond the gravitational pull of logical thought and I heard a loud “whizzzzz” as he flew off into the void.
Kiriakou has mentioned MK-Ultra but I have not made the commitment to delve into it. But your comment about Bobby Kennedy being shunted, at the last minute, into the path of assassination (by a carefully planted Lone Wolf nut-case gunman, no less!) did instantly remind me of the last-minute alteration to the JFK motorcade route, from a straight shot through Dallas to a more convoluted path that included a long stretch open to possible snipers followed by the need to nearly come to a stop to navigate an acute-angle turn leading a slow creep past an uncleared multi-window building to driving under an unguarded overpass. (And the carefully planted Lone Wolf nut-case gunman.)
I, too, haven’t really dived into MK Ultra – mostly just sort of heard of it over the years. I liked Felton’s bit because it shows that we really did do some…bizarre things with Nazis after WWII. We’re all ok with von Braun (and, also, he eventually repented his past and accepted Christ) but I think under the rubric of “good ol’ von Braun” we allowed a lot of far more questionable people to slip past barely noticed. Felton doesn’t get into whether or not you actually could create a sort of “zombie assassin” (the video is fairly brief, after all) but it was clear that the CIA was doing things they simply shouldn’t have been doing…and doing them with people we should have shot.
To be fair, the “lone nut gunman” isn’t a uniquely modern thing – the man who shot Garfield fit that bill long before there was a CIA or former Nazis to place on retainer. OTOH, you also see that Garfield was challenging the status quo and up walks Guiteau to shoot him. He probably was a mere nut…but what a template, huh? A case can be made that Dallas, LA and Butler were all simply induced Garfield assassinations.
re: Lone Nut Gunman/JFK. You and I have discussed widely differing ideas about Oswald, and a few months ago I read a book by Robert K Tanenbaum (“That Day In Dallas: Lee Harvey Oswald Did Not Kill JFK”) who was another fascinating character in real life. A prolific author of one of my favorite series, about one of my favorite characters (Butch Karp) he had an amazing range of interests woven into his books, which often include deep philosophical discussions about the Catholic Church, among other things.
Tanenbaum headed up a Congressional investigation into the JFK assassination as well as the Warren Commission mess.
Oh, I’ve drifted your way since Butler! But, if we concede that there was one gunman, who was in the depository, who was also Oswald, we’re still stuck with “just how did this man – this complete zero – get himself perfectly positioned to take the shot?”. The whole series of events which led up to it is sort of glossed over in official records. So, too, is the why of Oswald’s move – he was being securely held. Why move him? All we know is the move placed Oswald exactly where he needed to be to get shot. Convenient!
Oh, and here’s a bit about TWA 800…which still has gigantic unanswered questions but since it happened when Clinton was President, you realize it literally could have been anything.

This podcast is fascinating to me as it covers a wide range of topics, including USAID, but to me the best part was after about 51:45 where they talk about paid journalists and Christopher Steele among other things.
Funny – you’d think of all the people here I would be the most interested in the discussing the CIA. I got an invitation to interview with them shortly before I was released from active duty in the navy back in the early 70s. My wife and I had just had our first child, and she said she would divorce me if I went to work for the CIA, even though it probably would have been as an analyst. She had been a stewardess for United Air Lines before we got married, and had dated a guy who worked for the CIA. Apparently he didn’t respect the duty to keep secrets as much as I did (and still do) Anyway, she was adamant that I not even interview. And I knew enough from the relationship between the Naval Security Group and the CIA to know that I probably wouldn’t have wanted to work there. Still, I’ve often wondered what if…………
I’ve mentioned here before that I can’t account for my father’s whereabouts from 1948 to 1958. He’s studying math at UC Santa Barbara in 1948 – pictures and stuff exist! – and then, poof!, its 1958 and he’s marrying Mom…and then when I suggest I might want to join the CIA my Dad was adamant that I stay the heck away from it.
Have you watched any of the John Kiriakou videos? He has had some interesting stories about his time in the CIA and every now and then he will get to a part of a story and then have to stop before he gets into sensitive areas. He has also talked about the toll on his marriage(s) from the inability to share so much of his life with his wives.
As I said, some people keep secrets better than others. It really comes down to a combination of trust, honor, and some semblance of a moral compass. Your dad must have been one of the good guys. I never told my wife anything that she couldn’t read in the newspaper. She asked me once after seeing something on TV, “do you know anything about that?” After the first time I said I did, but if I told her, I’d have to kill her, she stopped asking, heh.
