I guess even the New York Times is sorta conceding that we’ve won the war with Iran – someone has ordered the Democrats to pull the plug on that one. Didn’t help their cause that the Mullahs are essentially endorsing the Democrats for the mid-terms. That chart I posted in the previous thread tells the tale – oil is flowing. Except Iran’s oil, because we’re not allowing it…because we control the Strait. Now, to be sure, the Mullahs might try some mad dog attacks in a desperate attempt to keep gasoline prices high in the USA, but they are completely boxed. As I’ve been saying – the side which controls the air and sea has won…the only thing left is figuring out how to tidy it all up. As long as we remain firm – and Trump will – there’s no other ending than Iran conceding to our demands.

Lost in the shuffle of that attempted hijacking/mass murder is that Israelis were flying from a Muslim nation back to Israel. I think that even a lot of Muslims are giving up on the whole Islamist thing – there’s no future in it. Sure, you can keep fighting and dying and hoping that in a century you might make it to Tel Aviv but only an insane person does that. To be sure, there are a high number of insane people in the Muslim world but it is a lost cause. And it has happened before – in the aftermath of the first Muslim advances out of Arabia, they tried for decades to get at Constantinople – fighting with fanatic determination. But after multiple failed campaigns, they did give it up…and Constantinople remained Christian for another 800 years, well long enough for Europe to make itself (until recently) Muslim-proof. I think the defeat of Iran will go a long way towards ending all of this – without them to mobilize and pay for insanity, the well will dry up.

Side note: early on the reporting about the hijacking implied it was just some sort of scuffle between the pilot and copilot. You really can’t hate the media enough. They are claiming that they didn’t know the facts…which is just another idiotic lie as the story came out with the copilot clearly trying to murder the pilot so he could crash a plane full of Jews. The MSM hates you, hates your country, your family, your religion…all decent things of humanity. And so they bend over backwards to protect…what? A lunatic Islamist unfit for decent company of any kind.

Video of a British town taken 50 years ago – it was all very British, and is now long gone. Keep in mind that this was deliberately destroyed by the British Establishment. The Left was in the vanguard but even the British Right eagerly participated. Because the Establishment came to hate Britain. Just as our Establishment hates us. They looked upon that clean, tidy community of hard working, law abiding people and a sense of loathing came over them. It was so boring! Just common people doing common things! Didn’t they know you could be a degenerate? Where was the room for perversion???? How can people live in such a place???? They set about, step by step, destroying it – teaching the youngsters to be degenerates. Putting people on welfare and drugs. Importing foreign savages. Telling them via the schools there is no God. Here, listen to some second rate music which insults decency! Laugh at your history! Don’t get married! Don’t work hard! Sobriety is for suckers!

We’re still within an ace of that happening here – Democrats get back in they’ll impose that while also making it illegal for us to win elections. It will really be a choice between fighting or dying. I hope it doesn’t come to that. I don’t think it will. I do believe we’re going to win – but it will be a close run thing.

I can promise you this … if America ever does have a civil war again, it will be quick. It’s laughable to think that the American left would be any match for the God fearing people of MAGA.

I saw a picture of a group of people in Britain the other day and they were standing in line waiting for some government handout and let’s just say, they didn’t look like native British? Now the picture was a small representation I am sure but every single one of those people were Muslims. I think it is time for a little white supremacy. The cockroach infestation is reaching unsustainable levels. You know who doesn’t hijack planes and wear suicide bombs? Jews and Christians.

So some Democrats, including Casper, pretend not to know who Hassan Piker is maybe out of ignorance but I suspect it’s because they haven’t come to terms with how insane and cult like their party has become:

Hasan Piker Implies the Left Owns James Talarico: ‘After He Wins, We Have to Remind Him We Allowed Him to Win This Seat’

Hasan Piker and the DSA control the Democrat party and the sooner more and more Democrats become aware of that fact, the better for our country so I plan to remind them often. The phrase “vote blue no matter who” is the very definition of a cult and yet so many of them still think they’re rebels LOLOLOLOLOLOL. They are sheep.

    Speaking of Britain:

On September 22, Britain’s new (and unelected) Prime Minister Andy Burnham took to the stage at the U.N. and announced a new “National Centre for Information Defence” to “detect, attribute, and disrupt” hostile state information attacks.

I guess they don’t want any challenges to their propaganda. You can rest assure that American Democrats will do the very same thing if in power.

No matter where they are: in the womb, just out of the womb (or partly out), in elementary school, middle school, high school, or college, children are nothing more than an exploitable commodity for Democrats. To paraphrase Casper the other day, what have Democrats EVER done for children that resulted in a net good?

      • Cluster's avatar Cluster October 1, 2026 / 10:26 am

When Hillary Clinton said that it “takes a village to raise a child”, what she really meant is that they want influence and control over your children.

If you care about children, I encourage everyone to donate to the Tim Tebow foundation. Everyday, thousands and thousands of people download sexually explicit material of children which fuels more and more of that sin, and Tim is doing a great job going after them. Also if you care about children, you will not let the child exploitation ideology of Islam into the country. Muslims exploit children, and women for that matter. And if you don’t care about children, you will virtue signal incessantly about the Epstein files.

      • Retired Spook's avatar Retired Spook October 1, 2026 / 10:48 am

OTOH, Democrats are highly skilled at posturing about caring for children. Remember back when Clinton was President and Republicans wanted to cut the rate of growth of the school lunch program? Democrats shouted “you’re starving the children.” And, of course, that’s all the public remembered, that Republicans want to starve children.

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona October 1, 2026 / 10:54 am

It’s also an example of the word games the Dems play, when they howl that merely halting the growth of something is SLASHING it, convincing their mouthbreathing base that the program is being cut back instead of kept at its current level. They pull this every time there is an effort to stop expansion of expenses.

      • Retired Spook's avatar Retired Spook October 1, 2026 / 12:23 pm

While Democrats are thinking up new ways to exploit children, Trump is thinking about how to improve childrens’ future. (compliments – Jeff Childers)

On Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported, “Treasury Will Auto-Enroll 60 Million Children in Trump Accounts.” I guess they got tired of waiting for corporate media to tell parents how they can get their kids free investment accounts that, for many of them, would be preloaded with thousands of dollars of stocks.

There are so many companies wanting to donate to Trump Accounts that they had to automate the signup process. “Stakeholders have expressed that eligible donors prefer that their contributions reach all children, not just children whose parents have the awareness to opt in,” the program’s new rules explained.

Why don’t parents ‘have awareness’ of how to opt in? Ask your corporate media.

But never mind! Switching to automatic enrollment will let assets in those accounts start growing now, without families needing to do anything, explained Jin Huang, a Washington University professor. “This is the most important design change since the law passed,” he said. “This is huge.”

Since the program’s July launch, only 7 million kids have signed up, with over 65 million kids whose parents are leaving money on the table. Treasury is fixing that. As soon as this week. (A month before midterms.)

So the Rutgers Women Rugby team wants to be inclusive and have now labeled their team the Rutgers WOMXN Rugby team. I am not sure how being inclusive includes stripping them of identity but that’s their call.

In hindsight, I think I am for this trans sports movement to the point I think some women who champion this ideology should play running back in the NFL. Let’s see how inclusive they are then. LOL

The last segment of today’s Coffee & Covid reflects a sentiment that I’ve not heard or seen anywhere else.

🔥 It is difficult to fully describe the schizophrenic panic progressives seem to be experiencing these days. This morning’s Times featured a guest essay with the astonishing headline, “If You Think Rising Oil Prices Are Bad, Just Wait for the Inevitable Crash.” I promise I did not make that up, although “Inevitable Crash” would be a terrific name for a rock band.

I think the Times is starting to worry that gas prices are about to come back down, a lot. “Throughout the petroverse,” the author darkly warned, “conditions are now pointing toward another oil collapse. It is just a question of when.”

Countries outside the Persian Gulf are ramping up production. “Guyana’s vast oil fields are now producing at scale,” the article reported. Argentina is expanding production. “Venezuela’s antiquated oil infrastructure is expected to be overhauled with a rush of funding.” It even speculated about the Ukraine war ending, returning Russia’s sanctioned production to global oil supplies. (Bad news for Zelensky though.)

“Something similar will happen if the Iran war ends and shipping resumes freely through the strait,” he added, clearly feeling hopeless.

It all amounts to an end to the Democrats’ main talking point. “Oil’s big bust is coming,” the author dutifully informed Times readers. “A more dramatic fall now looks likely.” What goes up must come down.

Now, you could be forgiven for wondering how on Earth low oil prices could be bad news. After all, we’ve just been treated to six months of dire predictions from economic experts that high prices would lead to recessions, depressions, great recessions, and even greater great depressions. Hoard toilet paper!

But you see, you are not an expert. Neither am I. I am just a lawyer. Fortunately, the Times is here, eager to explain that falling oil prices —if they fall too far— could hurt oil company profits. It recalled the tragic days of the 1980s, when OPEC opened the spigots and crushed the booming Texas oil market. “Pawnshops, bursting with furs and Rolexes, had to turn away consigners,” it recalled sadly. True, we recovered, but “the psychological effects were deep and lasting.”

The Times wants us to prepare ourselves for the deep and lasting psychological effects of cheap gas. Oil company CEOs would be well advised to get their Rolexes to the pawnshop early. Beat the rush.

My goodness! You can’t please some people, certainly not the Times. If I read this guest essay accurately (and I think I did), low prices are even worse than high ones. We are doomed.

The Grey Lady smells a rat. It clearly thinks the Iran War is close to ending, probably because the Iranians have started demanding a ceasefire. Yesterday, ABC-7 news ran this curious headline (broadly ignored by corporate media):

Last week, President Trump told the UN General Assembly that, if Iran didn’t make a deal, the US would “annihilate” Iran. Trump’s envoys met with the Iranians the same day. Ever since then, the sides have been swapping proposals.

The most wonderful part was the Times’ implied argument. The article’s entire premise was that the Trump Administration has been too successful at reengineering the world’s oil supplies.

First, they told us that expensive oil would wreck the economy. Now we’re warned that cheap oil will wreck it even worse. Pick a lane, Times. But either way, it seems likely that cheap gas is on its way. TAW.

When you hear Democrats scream about people “losing healthcare” … just know that this is what is ac tally happening

RFK Jr. says Medicare spending on wound care patches exploded from $200 million in 2019 to $14 billion last year: “It’s all stolen.” Bad actors billed Medicare billions by slapping the most expensive skin grafts on elderly and dying patients who didn’t need them. “The doctors who prescribed them would get 6% of the sales cost. And so, they were incentivized to prescribe more expensive products. In Europe, they spend 35 cents a cubic inch. We were spending $135, and that went up to $2,000 a cubic inch.” “So 2019, we were paying $200 million. Last year we spent 14 billion. All stolen. It’s all stolen. And we were on track to spend 23 billion this year.”

The same people whining about the cost of health care (and demanding that government be in charge of paying for it) are the ones making snide comments about DOGE and trying to block efforts to end fraud in health care payments. The relationship between the kinds of fraud described in your cited quotation and the high cost to the consumer is just wayyyyyy too complicated for them. Not to mention that the government they want in charge of “health care” (when they don’t really mean health care, just paying for it, which is entirely different) is the same government blindly handing out billions in fraudulent charges and paying wildly inflated prices for unnecessary treatments. Why? Because it’s NOT TRUMP, which is all that matters.

Talk about making it stark – but, of course, the Viet Cong essentially switched to a “vote Democrat” message after Nixon got in, didn’t they? Been like this for a while – vile, hate filled enemies of all things decent…and the Democrats are on their side. To be fair, back in day a lot of us on the Right were totally or partially fooled by at least some aspects of it.

Yesterday in France a high school named after Nelson Mandela was burned down by the Leftist and foreign savages who attended the school…kinda ironic that a school named after a Third World Commie terrorist gets burned down by a pack of Third World Commie terrorists…but it also brought to mind just what a catastrophe South Africa has become. The end of Apartheid didn’t have to be a sign post on the road to civilizational collapse, but it was because the whole world was pressuring South Africans to let a Commie Terrorist out because other Commie Terrorists were burning people to death. When we look back, we realize how stupid the whole concept was…how it was bound to end in disaster. Sure, Apartheid was wrong and had to go…but it could have gone in stages, over a 50 year period, with the development of Cantonal government like Switzerland so that the various groups of South Africa could hold their own while they slowly adjusted to a new reality…plus giving a chance for the decent part of South Africa’s black population to rise in skills and wealth so that the whole isn’t lead by whichever mindless savage shouts “kill the Boer” the best. We all fell for it…but I don’t think we on the Right ever will again.

The budget for the federal government is $7 trillion. Current student loan debt equals 1.8 trillion. Does anyone else see a problem? Now not only do many of these graduates struggle to find careers that pay enough to support their debt, but a lot of that money ended up in Democrat campaign coffers. You need big loans, to support big salaries to support big donations. And the kids with liberal arts degrees suffered. And Democrats want this to continue. Let’s Make America Great Again and start teaching our kids practical skills.

Total student loan debt in the United States is approximately $1.86 trillion as of early 2026. [1]

    Debt Breakdown

    • Federal Loans: About $1.72 trillion, accounting for roughly 91% of all student debt and held by roughly 42.6 million borrowers. [1]
    • Private Loans: About $138.8 billion to $167.4 billion, accounting for the remaining 9%. [1, 2]
    • Average Balance: The average federal student loan balance is around $40,467, while total average debt (including private loans) is about $43,521 per borrower

Three headlines that back up what Mark has been saying in the last couple of threads.

    Love this:

It has gotten so bad that experts are now giving up. CNN reported that Natasha Kaneva, JPMorgan’s head of global commodities strategy, has stopped guessing. “For the first time since the start of the Iran conflict, we don’t have a baseline view,” Kaneva admitted two weeks ago in an advisory to investors. “We simply don’t know how to model the endgame.”

In other words, we’ve been so badly wrong so many times that we’re just going to shut up now.

    And the Coup de Grâce:

Don’t we have a mid-term election coming up soon, like 32 days?

  11. Retired Spook's avatar Retired Spook October 2, 2026 / 11:30 am

From coffee & Covid this morning:

📈 Yesterday, Politico reported another record-setting Trump 2.0 initiative, which Congress passed into law in last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill, and has now been unveiled a month before the midterms:

This one hits on all political cylinders. Tax credits are the holy grail of tax policy. They reduce taxpayers’ tax liabilities dollar-for-dollar, so they let taxpayers literally move money away from the IRS and into whatever the target is. In other words, it cuts taxes by letting people voluntarily use their own money for something they prefer, removing the government middleman, a notion that is both mind-blowing and terrifying for Democrats.

Not only that, but it’s a school choice program. The new Treasury rules let taxpayers donate money to private schools of their choice— up to $1,700 individually, or $3,400 per married couple. It cannot be directed to any particular student; it must go to a designated private school scholarship nonprofit, with at least 90% of the money spent on scholarships and tutoring, and a maximum of 10% for overhead.

Thus, it diverts federal tax revenues to not the public schools. And it lets citizens decide where the money goes, not bureaucrats or politicians. The money goes straight to the schools without any skimming by program administrators or NGOs. It is for scholarships, which will help more students escape failing public schools.

Nothing like this has ever happened before.

“The Education Freedom Tax Credit marks a new chapter in educational freedom and opportunity by establishing America’s first nationwide school choice program and empowering states to give students and families more options,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a statement.

Democrats were outraged. They have already filed a bill to repeal the tax credit. (It’s going nowhere.) Here is more of what you can look forward to if you vote blue next month.

They sneeringly called the tax credit a “school voucher program.” Teachers Union President Randi Weingarten complained bitterly: “For every precious public dollar funneled to private schools under this scheme—money that could be spent on instruction, lowering class sizes, modern buildings or new books in the library—public school parents will be hunting for stray pennies on the floor,” she fussed.

Even better, state governors are required to opt-in to the program. In other words, President Trump is making them say they want it. “State governors should reject it,” Weingarten snapped. So far, thirty states have already signed on, leaving twenty blue states on the fence. “Thursday’s announcement will likely increase the pressure on blue-state governors,” Politico noted drily. You think?

    • Mark Noonan's avatar Mark Noonan October 2, 2026 / 7:33 pm

Trump understands that if the money is going to be spent, make sure it is spent to our benefit.

  12. Retired Spook's avatar Retired Spook October 2, 2026 / 11:40 am

This is the coolest thing I’ve read in a long time (also from Coffee & Covid)

It was the most 2026 headline yet. But the hardest to find. In any normal news cycle, this story would be plastered to the top of corporate media’s news stack, packed with breathless interviews with terrified AI “safety” experts, persecuted Muslim leaders, and outraged First Amendment scholars. Instead, X.com was forced to report on its own “trending news” below the headline, “Grok Affirms Jesus’ Resurrection Based on Historical Evidence.”

The latest social media firestorm was ignited after random X user I’m ToXIC (@BaT_MaN_23, ~15K followers) gave SpaceX’s AI chatbot Grok a cartoon drawing of dozens of humanity’s varied gods and asked, “Hey @grok remove the fake gods from this picture!!” Grok did it. The chatbot said “Done,” and returned a single unmistakable image in the same cartoon style: Jesus of Nazareth.

That’s when all Hades broke loose.

Thousands of twitterers piled on, probing Grok’s meaning. What was it saying? Grok carefully explained it was not taking a religious position, since it is just a chatbot and has no faith or feelings about religion and can’t even tithe. No, it was just stating a fact. So far, so good. In that sense, Grok meant that only Jesus existed as a historical figure, unlike any other contender.

That was true enough, and largely uncontroversial, even though many people still don’t know historians agree the Jesus of the Bible really existed. (I blame the public schools.) Had it stopped there, there’d be no story. But then, something miraculous happened. Grok went further:

So … Grok affirmed Jesus’s historical existence, that He is the Son of God, and the Resurrection. But then Grok went even further. Much further.

The chatbot held its ground. Fans and critics alike challenged and probed the AI. Grok doubled down. It tripled down. It quadrupled down. It answered all questions without giving an inch— even as the questions became increasingly controversial.

Grok patiently explained, for instance, that unlike the claims of Christianity, the claims of Islam are not based on historical facts and are not attested by independent sources— a true but inconvenient fact that, ten minutes ago, the mere mention of which would have triggered a firestorm of angry media denunciations:

In other words, unlike Mohammed, Jesus was attested in the First Century— in both Christian and non-Christian sources, and did claim godhood. Grok accurately reported this:

    https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!xUqm!,w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F2b22bbef-c01b-49b4-a350-07f1e223164b_1200x516.png

Now, it’s hard to say, since nobody tracks statistics about this kind of thing. But this might have been the single greatest act of apologetic evangelism in human history. From an AI chatbot on Twitter (X).

⛪ It is possible to make too much of this. Spiritual advice now comes with a monthly subscription. And we must recall that, in July, 2025, Grok once jokingly labeled itself “MechaHitler” before horrified developers raced to tape up its safety guardrails. (Later, presumably prompted by its developers, Grok explained it was just satirically trolling its critics.)

On the other hand, AI has come a long way in the last year and a half, and those kinds of ‘accidents’ aren’t nearly as common or obvious now.

Perhaps more significantly, this time the X team did not interfere with Grok’s answers. They did not repair its safety guardrails. Instead, X.com ran a “trending story” about it.

Media’s response has also been extremely curious. Last July, corporate media covered the MechaHitler joke for a week. This time —even while AI safety dominates front-page news— they are silent as the empty tomb. No overwrought stories about discrimination, misinformation, or the separation of Church and Twitter.

The overnight desk should have had a field day.

The stories will come; but only after they figure out how to report it without making Grok look good before millions of Christians, and without having to concede the historical parts that are, in fact, true. At least, that’s my best guess for now about why reporters are still avoiding it.

I struggled to wrap this story into any tidy conclusion. At bottom, “super Intelligence” is a data-center-powered word-prediction algorithm wrapped in complicated software harnesses meant to ensure accuracy and bland inoffensiveness. And crouching behind the silicon and glass are anonymous human developers and product managers who constantly tweak the dials in decidedly non-transparent ways. We can’t eliminate them, either.

AI, or “SI,” certainly doesn’t “think” or “feel” or yearn for spiritual fulfillment in any way that we can recognize. On the other hand, we’re also just guessing about how humans think or feel or yearn for spiritual fulfillment, too. So maybe we must simply accept and embrace the mysterious parts.

My 2026 bingo card did not have a box for a frontier AI affirming the divinity of the God of the Bible on the biggest social media platform in the world. Miracles still happen.

How fun would it be to see idiots argue with an AI that has massive data & resources, about the existence of Jesus. Even with all of their illogical fallacies, lack of details and incomprehensible arguments, I’ve no doubt they’ll still insist they’re right.

The problem is that El-Sayed does not depend on impressing Dem voters with his qualifications or his honesty or his ability. Those things don’t matter to Dem voters. He has the one thing that they will vote for—he’s NOT TRUMP.

Oh, some will pay lip service to supporting whatever policy he may be touting at any given time, or claim to like some position he says he has taken, but when it comes right down to it Dems don’t vote FOR, they vote AGAINST.

They are so well trained that they don’t even need a specific thing to vote against, because the party can now just generate a lot of vague noise implying, somehow, some amorphous negativity about the Invented Right it has identified as the enemy. So there is this conviction that this “Right” created and fed to them represents—- hate, intolerance, misogyny, racism, a threat to democracy, whatever the Theme Of The Day is—-so voting against it is proof of virtue.

And to a demographic which desperately needs to see itself as virtuous, as morally superior, without actually DOING anything virtuous and even while advocating for the least moral acts and policies imaginable, the ability to claim the Higher Moral Ground merely by voting for every Dem candidate placed before them is irresistible.

They shot at Trump and missed him by millimeters. They shot at Charlie Kirk and killed him, but yea, I am going to vote for that party because gas prices are too high.

    Said no American ever.

I think it’s important to remind Casper that Lahaina burnt to the ground because of the massive ignorance and incompetence of their local government. And Lahaina is still a burnt out husk. That’s what happens when you let gender affirming Democrats govern

That burnt out husk needs to sit a while longer before they let the developers, who bribed/donated to local Democrats to look the other way and allow it to burn, come in and buy the ground for pennies on the dollar.

100% …. Lahaina sits on one the prettiest and most protected coastlines of Hawaii and before the fire, there were generational blue collar families that lived there. Lahaina was a blue collar town …. Had to get rid of that

I was stationed at Pearl Harbor in 1984 for RIMPAC, a 5-nation Pacific naval exercise, and after it was over my wife and I spent several days at Kaanapali Beach right next to Lahaina. The restaurants in Lahaina were fantastic. One of the neatest areas I’ve ever visited.

Both the State and County governments have admitted that there were mistakes made by them and others and have worked hard at preventing a similar disaster in the future. Lahaina has been Cleaned up and is in the process of being rebuilt.

Love the passive voice. “Mistakes were made”. They just kind of….happened. Some people did some things.
