We Could Not Have A Worse President

Both domestically and internationally, this President has screwed up EVERYTHING!

On the international front, his attempt to appease and open up a “new dialogue” with the Middle East, beginning with his Cairo speech, has backfired big time and only served to perpetuate the image of America as a “paper tiger”.  Obama has been terribly inconsistent with his foreign policy and has never consistently conveyed American principles. On one hand he allows the military to kill UBL, and green lights drone strikes on other suspected terrorists, but on the other hand, he refuses to stand strong against the Muslim Brotherhood, Assad and Ahmadinejad, bows to Saudi Kings, and withdraws support from Arab allies like Mubarek and King Hussein in Jordan. His mixed messages has everyone confused and creates a perception of incompetence and weakness and we all know that Islamists prey on weakness, and unfortunately we are seeing the results of that now with the slaughter of our Libyan Ambassador and the other three Americans. This current ME uprising is terribly reminiscent of Tehran in 1979, and I believe the voters will act in kind come November.

On the domestic front, we all know too well the agony of his economic policies, and he has NO PLAN, other than the same going forward. His most recent budgets called for trillion dollar deficits for as far as the eye could see, and did not receive even one single vote from any member of his own party. There is no better example of failed leadership. The most recent jobs report showed that for every person that did find a job, four people simply gave up and this is just unacceptable. We can do so much better. Some question whether or not we can afford four more years of this failed President. I assert that we can’t afford four more months. For the sake of this nation, I call for him to resign effective immediately.

Obama’s Failure, Media Attacks Romney

Here are some of the things we have learned in the past day.

Obama has apparently skipped intelligence briefings for the past week. A rather bizarre thing for the days leading up to the anniversary of September 11th.

Despite threats, the U.S. consulate in Libya was not guarded by U.S. Military.

The attacks appeared to be well coordinated and planned for the 9/11 anniversary.

Yet, somehow, the media has tried to turn this situation into a negative for Romney. Their efforts to do so turned to be as well coordinated as the attacks in Egypt and Cairo appeared to be.

Amazing isn’t it? Since Obama’s convention we’ve had an abysmal jobs report come out, a teachers’ strike in Obama’s hometown of Chicago and now this. Obama has had a rather terrible week, resulting from his bad policies, lack of leadership, inexperience and incompetence, and the media does everything it can to not hold him accountable.v

obAMATEUR’s Pathetic Economic Recovery

The unemployment report on Friday was absolute proof of obAMATEUR’s failure as pResident to help our nation recover.  Millions of people remain unemployed or under employed and millions more have simply given up.  Specifics?  This list breaks down how bad things truly are under the obAMATEUR’s “Recovery” (in name only).

  • 5.1% – The current unemployment rate for government workers, which is the lowest unemployment rate for any of 17 different categories and subcategories of industries for which employment is tracked and published on a month-to-month basis by the Department of Labor.
  • 8.1% – The current national unemployment rate, which dropped .2% because 368,000 Americans dropped out of the labor force in August.  Do you understand what you just heard?  These people –368,000 of your neighbors and friends – just said the hell with it and gave up.
  • 8.4% – What the unemployment rate would be if the labor force participation rate had stayed the same as just last month – if those people had stayed in the job market and kept looking for work.
  • 11.2% – What the unemployment rate would be if we had the same number of people either working or looking for work now as we did when Obama took office.
  • 14.7% – The U-6 unemployment rate, which includes all of those who are unemployed and under-employed (part-time workers who want full-time work).
  • 39 – The average number of weeks that workers find themselves out of the jobs market (the long-term unemployed).
  • 43 – The number of consecutive months with joblessness above 8%.
  • 63.5% – The current labor participation rate, which is the lowest share of Americans over age 16 in the workforce since September 1981.
  • 2025 – If we continue to create jobs at a rate of just 96,000 per month, it will take until 2025 just to return to pre-recession unemployment levels.
  • 41,000 – The number of jobs created for the prior two months were revised lower by 41,000 jobs.
  • 96,000 – The total number of nonfarm jobs created in August.
  • 119,000 – There were 119,000 fewer Americans employed in August than there were in July.
  • 173,000 – The increase in the number of food stamp recipients for the last month for which we have data (June).  Compare that to the number of jobs being created …
  • 250,000 – The number of jobs per month needed to have significant job creation impact and bring down the unemployment rate.
  • 368,000 – The number of Americans who dropped out of the labor force in August.
  • 5 million – The number of jobs still needed to get back to the point where we were in the end of 2007.
  • 20 million – The number of unemployed, underemployed and discouraged workers who’ve left the labor force altogether.
  • 31 million – That’s the population growth since 2000, yet fewer Americans are working today than in April 2000.

UPDATE (since whiny proggy drones refuse to refute facts but nitpick at sources): Hat tip: Neal Boortz,  VERIFIED WITH: BLS, LA Times, ABC News, TIAA Cref, Census Bureau, Forbes – to name a few.  These pathetic facts along with raising taxes on all incomes for obAMACARE, increased food prices due to the drought and increased fuel costs (another obAMATEUR failure), faster rising (rising faster than it would have without obAMACARE) healthcare and premium costs due to obAMACARE and more people on Welfare and receiving food stamps than ever before.   obAMATEUR maintains that Americans are better off than they were four years ago (with little explanation).

It is no wonder obAMATEUR deflects the campaign to Romney’s tax records and other such attacks.  The man has no positive record on which to run.

These drones believe that I would put up FACTS that have not been verified?  They are in for extreme disappointment.  This is a DISCUSSION BLOG now refute the FACTS or STFU. – Rico you have used this cowardly dodge before.

obAMATEUR’s Speech? BORING! Nothing New. Just Stale Recycled Ideas ….. Failed Ideas.

When you are in a tight race with your political opponent, you should not recycle a Jobs Act speech that failed to even persuade Democrats in Congress to pass your signature re-election initiative.

But that’s what the obAMATEUR did. After Bill Clinton filled the delegates with what they wanted to hear.  obAMATEUR took to the stage and reduced, reused, and recycled old states of the union speeches that have failed him for four years.

It was boring. It was unoriginal. And it was filled with more empty promises. Remember, he promised to cut the deficit in half  or he would be a one term pResident.  Clint Eastwood’s empty chair could have given a better speech than what obAMATEUR read from the teleprompter last night. And to think he wanted to give that in a 80,000 seat stadium!

This was a safe speech you give when you have a lead. This was not a speech you give in a tight race. Don’t believe me? Here are excerpts from his past States of the Union and Jobs Act speech. Lots of platitude, lots of rhetoric, little in detail, and a lot of worn out lines that have failed him before.

Listen to these lines. This speech was unoriginal. He stacked it with straw men and ignored his own two major initiatives from the first term: Obamacare and the Stimulus.

This was a failure and you know it was because he failed to even bring up his own major initiatives. On Obamacare, he mentioned parts of it, but never defended it or referenced the “Affordable Care Act” (Affordable? Rates have risen more dramatically than they would have without obAMACARE).

His only “accomplishment”, his gold ring (at least it was a couple of years ago) and he does not mention it?  He does not tout it?

As I have said before, he is fulfilling his own statement.  When you have no accomplishments, no record on which to run, there is nothing to do in a campaign but attack, obfuscate and LIE! (and please velma do not write AGAIN, “you would not acknowledge the President’s accomplishments” – LIST AND DEFEND THEM).

In short, the speech was PATHETIC.

Obama’s Christianity

A harsh but correct statement about Obama:

Obama and Co very much want to fool Christians, again.  He managed the trick in 2008 – and not just with Catholics, as Obama did relatively well among self-identified Evangelicals, as well.  As the video states, Obama is counting on our ignorance – on the ignorance of Christians, themselves – in order to sucker us to vote for him.  My view:  in 2012, our theme song will be “Won’t Get Fooled Again”.

Liberty and Prosperity

“A government big enough to give you everything you need, is a government big enough to take away everything that you have….”

This quote is often mistakenly attributed to Thomas Jefferson. In fact it was uttered on the floor of Congress by Gerald Ford in an address to a joint session of Congress on August 12, 1974, 3 days after he had assumed the Presidency following Richard Nixon’s resignation.

In the previous thread, Jeremiah posted this marvelous quote from Ronald Reagan:

I hope we have once again reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited.  There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts.

The same bit of research that revealed the Gerald Ford quote also revealed that Reagan’s words did, indeed, paraphrase a famous quote from Thomas Jefferson:

“The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield, and government to gain ground.” – Thomas Jefferson to Edward Carrington, Paris, 27 May 1788

Contrary to the portrait his critics attempt to paint, Reagan was a wise and intelligent man, the closest thing America has seen to a visionary in the mold of the Founders in my lifetime, and anyone who doubts that should read his personal journals. I would add to what he said that prosperity and liberty go hand in hand. Since America is made up of immigrants from numerous other countries, none of which is as prosperous as we are, it can only be that our system of government allows a level of individual freedom that promotes a prosperous economy more than any other country. Now, right before our eyes, we’re seeing one man and a small oligarchy of radical Leftist cronies attempt to “fundamentally transform” that successful model into just another country. As long as we have the freedom to vote, such men will never stay in power long.

There’s a good chance that none of us on this blog has ever suffered under the tyranny of a dictatorship or totalitarian government.  If any have, I’d love for them to come forward and describe what it was like.  In his GOP convention speech, Marco Rubio noted, in reference to the policies of the current administration, “these are tired and old big government ideas. Ideas that people come to America to get away from.  Ideas that threaten to make America more like the rest of the world, instead of helping the world become more like America.”

The freedom that we have and for which we’ve expended great quantities of blood and treasure for others to have around the world is, historically speaking, not the norm.  It’s why the founding of this country has often been described as The Great American Experiment. Not since Rome had a country attempted to embark on a course that would allow ordinary citizens to govern themselves.

Now some are going so far as to suggest that the current occupant of the White House is the one who wants to continue that experiment, to expand liberty to new horizons:

America’s story is one of constantly tackling the big—the biggest—problems, ahead of everyone else, with very little to guide us but those founding principles that nag at our conscience. And each time we’ve made progress, extending civil rights to more and more people, it’s been because that old spirit of taking a gamble, of performing the ultimate experiment, took over and led us to the right decision.

As we think today about what divides Americans, I think it boils down to the fact that some Americans no longer want to experiment. They want to close the lab down. We’ve gone far enough into the unknown, making it known, they say; now let’s stop—let’s even go backward. We were wrong to conduct some of our experiments in liberty, and that’s the source of all our problems. Gay people shouldn’t be treated equally. Black people shouldn’t run the country. Women shouldn’t hold high office. Muslims shouldn’t be granted habeas corpus.

Whenever one of those Americans talks about the problem with our country today, they talk about how we should be like we once were, back when white people who defined marriage as one man-one woman and were Protestant veterans built this nation. They feel they are losing their birthright, their legacy.

But those Americans are wrong. What their ancestors really were was scientists. Experimenters. Radicals who always considered the impossible possible. To define those ancestral Americans as merely white or straight or Christian strips them of their most stunning feature, their near-supernatural qualities of optimism and defiance and willingness to go into the unknown and make it their home, to make the amazing the norm. They defied the status quo. That’s how they built America.

Americans who want to end the experiment are few, but boisterous. They clamor at the national microphone. But Americans who know that there is no America without the experiment will keep at it, and they will persevere. Barack Obama is such an American, and his election is proof that the lab is still open, and that America in general will always be at the drawing board, expanding its concept of liberty and justice and equality until we finally fulfill the founding principles that created this nation so long ago.

I have to confess, when I read this essay, my first reaction was, clearly I and the vast majority of Conservatives have missed something if this is true.  Perhaps we’re wrong, and this writer is correct.  Perhaps one or more of our resident Progressives can make a case for Obama being the great experimenter in expanding liberty.

Anyone Else See A Disconnect Here?

Barack Hussein Obama:

  • Voted three times to allow a child who survived an abortion to die on a gurney.
  • Allowed the trafficking of guns into the hands of Mexican drug lords via Operation Fast and Furious, knowing they would be utilized in the commission of crimes and murders, sending hundreds of people to their deaths, including U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry.
  • Forced Catholic and other Christian institutions to violate their consciences by attempting to force them to fund birth control and abortifacients.
  • Imprisoned a Marine for speaking his mind on Facebook
  • Shut down hundreds (1000s?) of GM dealerships and put thousands out of work.
  • Prevented tens of thousands of United States workers from finding gainful employment during the worst recession since the Great Depression- by blocking the Keystone Pipeline Project.
  • Is the consummate narcissist, assigning credit to no one but himself, assigning blame to EVERYONE but himself.
Now, can you please tell me again why you think he’s a “nice guy?”
