As a Catholic, the moment I got my first look at Pope Leo XIV my heart was filled joy – such as I haven’t felt since John Paul II was elected. There were some who immediately tried to say he was on the Left side of the Church as Francis had been but his use of Papal vestments was a clear indicator that he’s not going to be put into a box. At all events, the Church is supranational and transcends politics. It never has been, is not nor ever will be on “your side” politically. Sure, Leo has condemned Trump admin immigration policy – that is nearly rote for the Catholic Church which has always been open borders (an organization charged by God with spreading the Gospel to the ends of the Earth cannot support border lockdowns; but the Church does recognize the necessity for the State to control its borders). But for every bit of Left that has been found there are also such for the Right. Looks like Leo doesn’t mind the traditional Latin Mass, for instance. I don’t think Leo’s going to be what anyone expected. And I advise everyone to read Rerum Novarum, which was promulgated by Leo XIII in 1891 (Pope’s do select their reign name on purpose – I can’t imagine Leo didn’t want to bring forward the spirit of his predecessor). It is the bedrock of Catholic social teaching and it hits hard at both Socialism and that brand of Capitalism which holds that as long as you’re maximizing profits there are no other considerations. And we’ll let it slide that he’s a Sox fan…

The Democrats invading the ICE facility were likely doing it on the theory that their arrest would outrage normal people and turn them against Trump. Do note that huge numbers of Democrats – including quite senior people – were immediately on X deploring the arrests and demanding immediate release. As if the whole country was instantly outraged by the arrest of some Democrat commie mayor. Its yet another op – and its an op based on the theory that “nobody voted for this”. That is, on immigration, the American people only want the worst of the worst deported, not the overall tens of millions.

I have no idea where Democrats got this idea. Trump campaigned on a program of deporting every last illegal alien in country. He was thumpingly elected President because of this. We’re not sympathetic to people who came in illegally. This is because the American people are, for the most part, fair – they want things to be fair and square. It simply isn’t fair that some people jumped the line and now want to stay in place of people who are still waiting in line. And this is before the criminality – that a large number of the illegals are committing quite horrific crimes just adds to the sense of unfairness…some Americans have to be killed or otherwise abused because the government allowed foreigners to jump the line. When Democrats try to gin up sympathy with stunts like the ICE facility or by pointing out some girl was brought here illegally at the age of 5 our attitude just hardens. If any of us had continually broken the law for a decade or more we know we wouldn’t be let off because we didn’t break other laws at the same time. The illegals have to go. All of them.

And this, of course, is the only morally just thing to do. Merciful, too. The laws must be enforced. A lot of people simply refuse to understand that each time we allow an illegal in, it means yet another person being abused. Sometimes unto death. The only way to stop the abuse is to stop the process. To make it fundamentally impossible to live in the USA illegally. That you can’t get a job. Can’t get a residence. Can’t get anything unless you are legal. Keep in mind that Trump is not anti-immigration. I am, Trump isn’t. I want at least a twenty year moratorium on all immigration to allow assimilation to catch up. But that isn’t Trump’s view; he might even go for increased legal immigration levels…he’s just identified the actual problem as illegal immigration and is determined to stop it.

Meanwhile, the Democrats continue to Resist on the legal front – finding judge after judge to hold that there’s a Trump Exception to Article II. The judges keep doing this because Roberts won’t call off the dogs. He’s still trying to triangulate his way through this – and clearly does want at least some Trump Exceptions to Article II. But we can’t have a system where Democrats can do things Republicans can’t. If Biden can stroke of the pen allow half a million illegals in, then Trump stroke of the pen must be able to send them back…can’t force Trump to do the half a million one at a time. And the Democrats will not like where this ends up – the termination of judicial review, as such. Trump clearly does not want to go there. I think he’s been fully justified for more than a month in openly defying court orders. He’s looking at it differently and maybe he’s right about it and I’m wrong. Not my call to make. But Trump will not allow Democrats in judicial robes to annul the 2024 election.

Keep in mind that down there at the federal district judge level you’re dealing almost exclusively with partisan, political appointees. Basically its a reward for services rendered…and even if a judge is a GOP appointee, if the judge resides in a deep blue State then it was really a Democrat appointment. They are nothing but partisan hacks – been decades since Democrats allowed anyone but partisan hacks into positions they control. These people are not fighting for Democracy or the Rule of Law – they are doing what they’re told to do by Democrats who seem convinced that the American people will swing around to supporting illegal immigration, boys playing in girls sports and keeping government corruption. And that is also something to remember: everything the Democrats do is running off a focus-group tested Narrative which is supposed to swing power into the Democrats hands. MSM, DNC, individual pols, talking heads on TV, judges, lawyers…all working off the same script.

The good news: it really seems to be a very stupid script.

The Left is Evil: Say It.

Came across one of those Right (ish) Never Trump accounts on the website formerly known as Twitter (X); from this account I usually get the moderate-Conservative drivel but this one was different. It was a bald assertion that in a vote between Trump and Biden, this person would choose Biden as the decent alternative. It really rather flabbergasted me – got me thinking: are there any of the Old Right people who have the least sense of what is decent?

Leave aside Biden’s creepiness and personal immorality – pretend that doesn’t exist. You’re still left with a man – and a Party – 100% committed to federally funded abortion on demand to birth, to the medical transition of minors, to an open border which is the new slave trade, to keeping up the war in Ukraine which has already cost at least a few hundred thousand lives…this is decent? In what freaking universe is this decent?

This has got me thinking that people do not realize what we’re dealing with in the Democrats, in the overall Liberal/Left world – and not just the political leadership; even rank and file Democrats. By the time you get to the point where you’re opposed to banning third trimester abortions (which most of the world does) and surgically/chemically altering children, there is no decency left inside you. Oh, on the outside there might be: in other words, the person might be well dressed, well spoken…even polite. But the evil at the core of their being is what is decisive. You can’t have the least regard for human decency if you’re in any way ok with aborting a child 8 months into a pregnancy or think that blocking puberty – the normal development of the human body! – is a good idea. You are – and I’m not at all exaggerating here – on the same level as Germans loading up the trains for Auschwitz or Russians watching human beings herded into Gulag. There is no decency left at that point: that person is participating – in first or second degree – in actions we Catholics call “objectively evil”.

I know the immediate reaction of most to such a thing is to try to explain it away. Most of us, most of the time, are afraid to call it out. Fearful, that is, that we’ll have our own faults exposed. That we might turn the spotlight of evil on ourselves. It is how, especially over the last century, so many people have essentially gotten away with it – gotten away with monstrous crimes. The clearest example of this is the Germans of WWII. To a lesser extent the Russians in the aftermath of the fall of communism. Everyone had their excuses and their claims of ignorance. But, guys, someone typed up the train schedules to Auschwitz. The ladies in the typing pool at the Lubyanka were busy day in and day out typing up the decrees of the OSO sending people off to slave labor for stealing a spool of thread. They all knew; they all participated. That liberal aunt you’ve got who is oh, so sweet: she’s in on it, too. She’s just as evil as any of them. She might pretend to not know, but she does…or if she really doesn’t know, it is because she deliberately strives not to know, because she prefers the profit she makes off the current system to any sense of human decency. What I’m saying is: don’t excuse it. Recognize it. Condemn it. Call it out.

Which is what I did with that comment about Biden being the decent alternative. It was highly liberating for me to do that – knowing that the following of that person would be gravely offended by what I said, but only because they share the guilt. And, who knows?, maybe my comment will be part of the process which wakes people up? But the alarm can’t wake anyone up until it is sounded…and it is way past time for us to sound it.

Because it isn’t that the Liberals are mistaken in their means to a good end. They don’t want a good end. They want an evil end. They want a world where people can be punished for thinking or saying the “wrong” things. A world where privileges are passed out based on connections and credentials. A world where they are spared the guilt which comes from seeing people who live morally correct lives. And the Liberals will do anything to get their way. Remember, these are people who are ok with chopping off healthy body parts from a youngster. People who are willing to do that – or even just willing to tolerate that – have no sense of morality which would prevent them from doing – or tolerating – untold, inhuman horrors done against you.

The first step of solving any problem is to admit you’ve got one. And our problem is that the Left (Democrats, Liberals, whatever you want to call them collectively) are evil – they want bad things because they are bad people who like bad things. We must get into the habit of routinely condemning Left actions out of hand as immoral. Don’t debate them on it. There’s no argument here. What they want is wrong. The only correct action is to stop them. And do keep in mind that they very much view us as in the wrong – and unworthy of debate and their only desire is to stop us. You’re not being unfair here: you’re just fighting back.

Democrats have a Feinstien problem. No, its not her lifetime of corruption or that she employed a Chinese spy for years. For the Democrats, none of that is a problem! Their problem is that she’s 900 years old and is ill – can’t get to the Senate to vote the way she’s told and its holding up Biden’s horrific judicial nominees. Naturally, they want the GOP to get them out of this jam by voting to suspend the rules and allow some other Democrat to temporarily fill her seat. McConnell has come through for us on this and not allowed it – as they can’t get unanimous consent, they’ll need a floor vote and that takes 60 votes to happen. Can they get GOP votes for it? Perhaps some, but I suspect not enough. This does provide some real leverage for the Senate GOP…but one thing McConnell has never liked is using leverage against Democrats. Naked exercises of power are ok with him, but making them pay a price for something never enters into his head. OTOH, McConnell is clearly not in the best of health, himself, and as GOPers start jockeying for position, maybe they can force Mitch’s hand here? With the debt ceiling looming, this is the perfect time to take a pound of Democrat flesh.

There’s several videos of a completely looted Chicago Wal Mart. This isn’t just some high value items – the store is pretty much cleared out. The most heart wrenching was put out by a Chicago mother who was simply shopping for food for the kids and there was none left. And she does blame her fellow black people for it – pointing out that she is not a thief, but now because of them she can’t get what she needs. The bad news: it just gets worse from here. Chicago’s new Mayor is a full-blown Leninist who figures that looting is just “loot the looters”. But you can’t sustain this: businesses can’t remain in business if at any moment their whole stock of goods is to be stolen. And think about it: a whole Wal Mart was cleaned out. Even the neighborhood Wal Mart stores are pretty darn big. Think how long it would take even for a sizeable mob to clean it out…which means the police weren’t even called on a “why bother?” attitude or they didn’t come after being called (and why should they? If they did and tried to make arrests, they’d just be setting themselves up for accusations of racist brutality with the mayor siding with the looters). In a short while, the only retail outlets in Blue cities will be fortresses with only limited goods and high prices to pay the costs of security. And without any easy targets to loot, it isn’t like the mobs will then settle down and get a job…they’ll just start moving out into the rich, white suburbs with their BLM flags (that last bit will be a little funny, tho…)

China appears to be opening police stations in the USA in order to monitor and harass Chinese dissidents residing here. The two cops here were arrested but I have my doubts will really put a stop to this: the PRC has so entirely penetrated the American establishment that this might merely have been the signal for them to keep it more low key.

The latest comic book turned movie has become another in a long string of flops. Get woke, go broke as they say. But really its more “go boring, go broke”. Fun movies are supposed to be fun. Perhaps a bit ridiculous and heavy on special effects and explosions, but that is all part of the fun. But they become a drag if you have to bootstrap social commentary into them. I’m no genius author but I always consider the story before anything else. A character first introduced in Kings and Queen is gay, though not obviously so. If you’re paying close attention, you’ll notice it. But that fact also plays no role in the story. My characters have always appeared to me full grown as soon as I need them: there is character development as time goes on, but the gender, looks and basic motives of them are all there, whammo, as soon as I need them. This character, who shows up in a battle scene, showed up gay. In The Crimson Blade (Book VIII which will be released after Empress) this character becomes a secondary character in the overall story and so I tell more of his backstory – with him remaining gay, but that fact remaining utterly uninteresting in his role. Because something like that is primarily uninteresting. Its like hair color: something that just is. It is what your characters do in the story which makes or breaks them, and decides if the story is interesting. As it turns out, I liked this character so much that in Book IX (Home World), he becomes a main character.

What I’m saying here is that you can have in your stories non-traditional character roles. In fact, having a few odd balls in there is kinda fun. Anyone who reads my stories knows I favor strong female characters – I’ve never liked shrinking violets and I didn’t marry one. Mousy women have always irritated me. The girls I’ve got are gutsy broads who aren’t afraid of anything…but I’m also not going to please modern absurdity by having one of them take down a 250 pound warrior in hand to hand combat (Rossalyn slicing the unwary up with a sword is another matter entirely, of course). You can have just about anything you want in your story – but its got to be fun, not be boring because you had to shoehorn in the latest social mores as decreed by the ultra-woke. The sooner the movie makers figure this out the sooner they’ll get back to making money.

The Evil Democrats

The Department of Homeland Security is admitting that Cartel income from human trafficking across the American border has risen from $500 million in 2018 to $13 billion in 2022. Drugs are still number one by far, but let’s face the fact that the United States has become an insatiable maw for the new slave trade – and huge numbers of these people are no more than slaves, especially the “unaccompanied minors” being sent across. Also: there is zero chance that there has been this much of an increase without the active cooperation of American law enforcement officials. Something this big is by far too easy to spot and even the veriest simpleton of a cop would be able to figure out what is going on. I’m not saying that everyone is involved but, also, you never need that – and the Cartels have decades of experience of bribing (and intimidating) law enforcement. And with $13 billion just in slaves to sell, the Cartels have plenty of money for bribes.

And we got here because the Democrat Party- the Left, the overall Establishment – wanted this. Don’t try to soften this: what is happening with human trafficking is the easy and obvious result of Democrat policies to allow people to flood in unvetted and then allow them (heck, send them, often by plane) deep into the American interior with a mere notice to appear which will be ignored. And the Democrats did this – opened a border which Trump had by and large secured – simply because they hate us. They don’t care about these poor people (Martha’s Vineyard proved that – they bounced those illegals out so fast their heads were spinning). They don’t care about the mountain of human suffering they are causing not just among these trafficked people, but among the American communities they are settled in, with all the connections to Cartel criminality which comes with them. They just don’t care – they did this because it was the opposite of what we wanted. They are spiting us with the blood of foreigners suffocating in trucks or raped along the border.

And they are like that because they are not good people. And I don’t mean this in the sense that all of us can strive to be better – I mean that they have chosen to be bad. To be evil.

It really should come as no shock – after all, a person who is ok with federally funded abortion on demand to the moment of birth (the core, Democrat demand on the issue) is someone who left off morality quite a while ago. And they don’t get away from this descent into wickedness if they say that they, personally, don’t like abortion to birth…if you think that anyone, anywhere, should be able to hold that position and also hold office in the United States, then you are downright evil on a very personal level. To paraphrase our Democrats, it isn’t enough to be against killing kids 8 months into pregnancy – you must actively work to stop it.

There is no policy of the Democrat Party – or of the overall global Left – which is not based upon hatred. Forget their words: they long ago learned to turn words on their head. Remember, when a person of the Left says they’re fighting Liberty, what they mean isn’t the ability of the individual to live as they see fit. No, it is something much more sinister than that: they are fighting to liberate from the family, from the country, from morality…from God, at the bottom of it. That is what they mean by the word Liberty – and that is why you will see them say “my body, my choice” in regards to abortion and then shout “vaccine mandate” in the next breath. It isn’t a contradiction to them – your Liberty is only the Liberty to be opposed to God and all that is decent…but you don’t have the liberty to do what you wish. Because if you can do as you wish, you may choose to do something the Left doesn’t want – you may even decide to worship God and then get married and raise children in a family.

This all stems, by the way, from Lenin and the Russian revolutionaries. It can’t be emphasized enough how Leninism rules the Left these days. He was, after all, the first successful Leftist. He managed to obtain, retain and transmit his power. All the other Leftist movements before him (most notably the Marxists of 1848 and the Communards of 1871) had been crushed. Lenin won – and even those who claimed to reject Leninism still, by various degrees, sat at his feet and learned from the master. Because Leninism gained a country – and eventually an Empire – it was able to nurture itself and spread out into the world. By threat and blandishment it made it impossible for anyone on the Left first to oppose Leninism and later to refuse to support Leninism. The process took about 50 years (1917 to 1967); it first captured the colleges and then, via the college graduates, captured the institutions college grads work in.

But the main thing about Lenin wasn’t the Marxism – in fact, Marx would have rejected a lot of Leninism. Lenin was an opportunist of genius and in his time Marxism was the fashionable thing as it seemed to offer a “scientific” explanation and cure for the ills of society. But the main thing Lenin wanted was absolute power for himself and absolute war on the society he came from – he hated those damned, thick-headed Russian peasants who only wanted to be left alone. He despised those middle class drones working away and trying to merely build a nice life for their families. He also hated this nobility he came from, but not nearly with the white-hot passion that he hated the peasants and middle class…with their infuriating religious devotion and unwillingness to fit into the boxes Lenin assigned to them. What Lenin did was make it appear that his least desire was the only way to Marxism – didn’t matter if he changed his mind from day to day, whatever bug was up his rear at any given moment was the absolute necessity for the Marxist future.

Does this at all sound familiar? Bring anything to mind? Perhaps all those Democrats who are always immediately on board with The Current Thing? They’ve merely learned their lesson – because failure to immediately follow the Party Line (initially established by Lenin, carried on by whomever gets themselves into a position to make the New Party Line, often on a daily basis) means you are outcast. Destroyed. Ruined! Marked for nothing but destruction.

You might want to say at this point, “hey, Mark: I know that the leaders are bad, but the rank-and-file people aren’t. They are good people. They want good things; they’ve just been conned.”

To which I answer: yes, they have been. Just like the Germans were conned by the Nazis.

The Nazis sold the Germans a flaming pile of dog…stuff…but after a while, you are still a human being with agency and you get to decide your level of participation. And some Germans figured out that even the first step was bad. Others figured it out later. But the overwhelming mass didn’t figure it out until a Russian or American boot was kicking their door in. I’ll never forget that The World at War interview with a “typical German woman” and she said it true: she didn’t become angry with Hitler and the Nazis until the defeat. It was a Gangster’s anger – Hitler had promised them the world if they obeyed. They obeyed…and all they got was a ruined nation. And then there was Hitler’s secretary, Traudl Junge, interviewed many years after the war, pointing out that her immediate post-war assertions that she hadn’t known Hitler was a monster was based on her not wanting to know. And your typical Democrat person in the United States doesn’t know that humans are being trafficked. Doesn’t know that crime is rising. That there are shortages of food in some places. That kids as young as 8 are being “transitioned” on the flimsiest of justifications. To be sure, the MSM – owned by the Democrat Party – isn’t helpful to anyone who wants to know…but everyone is supposed to want to know. These rank-and-file Democrats don’t want to know.

And it doesn’t matter why they don’t want to know. Laziness, cowardice…what have you. We’re human beings. We have Reason – we’re supposed to use it. We’re supposed to think about it. Someone says we need to abort a healthy child at 8 months from a healthy mother, we’re supposed to ask why someone would want to do that? What’s the justification? On every level – practical and moral. We are accountable for our actions. For we believers, it is accountability to God. For non-believers it would be accountability to the community. But there is always that accountability – why? Why do you believe as you do? Why do you act as you do? Justify it. And if you can’t justify your beliefs and actions, you’d better stop. The Germans suddenly found themselves in May of 1945 in a non-Nazi world where they had to provide an explanation for boxcars of people shipped – with massive cooperation all through German society – to death camps. There will come a day – and we pray to God it is soon – where people will be asked to justify why they thought it ok for kids to be trafficked across the border. Why they thought it ok for thugs to burn cities. Why they thought it ok for government agencies to spy on Americans.

But until that day, we on our side must be on our guard. We can’t cooperate with these people because, as decent human beings, we cannot cooperate with evil. There is no bi-partisanship with the Devil. There is no mid-point between Good and Evil. There is Good and there is Evil and as far as human Reason can determine, we are obligated to adhere to Good, cost what it might. If this means we lose elections – if this means we lose all power and are utterly under the boot of a Leftist tyranny – then that is how it will have to be. We can’t do what is wrong and hope we will get what is right out of it.

No more compromise. We fight. We fight all the time. We fight on every issue. Nothing Left gets done with our help – it only happens because they overwhelm us. And if we obtain power, then as far as that power allows, we extirpate the Left from political, economic and social power. All or nothing, guys. Good or Evil. I want Good.

White House is Staging A Bloodless Coup!

OK, folks–here’s the deal- I don’t think too many people are realizing this:

1. We currently gather TEN TIMES the amount of revenue required to service our debt, EVERY MONTH.

2. The 14th Amendment states that WE MUST honor and service our debts; meaning that paying and servicing debt MUST COME FIRST.

3. Barack Obama has been threatening that we WILL DEFAULT on our debt if the debt ceiling is not raised in two days.

4. The ONLY way this can happen, is if Barack Obama IGNORES the 14th Amendment and REFUSES to service the debt. This means that Barack Obama MUST OPENLY DEFY the Constitution to bring about what he threatens will happen.

5. Understand also that I believe that Barack Obama FULLY INTENDS to carry out his threat. I believe that Barack Obama MEANS, in direct opposition to the 14th Amendment, to ALLOW the United States to go into default. Like a terrorist with his finger on the button of his suicide vest, he is threatening to DESTROY THE FULL FAITH AND CREDIT OF THE UNITED STATES, placing our economy in RUIN, unless Congress meets his every demand.

6. In effect, Barack Obama is staging what amounts to nothing less than a COUP– a complete usurpation of the power of the purse that IS EXCLUSIVELY THE PURVIEW of the duly and locally elected United States House of Representatives.

7. In completely and WILLFULLY ignoring his Constitutional responsibilities with respect to the 14th Amendment, Barack Obama has effectually denounced the primacy of the U.S. Constitution. He is effectively governing by EXECUTIVE FIAT.

In other words, Barack Obama HAS THROWN AWAY THE CONSTITUTION and is in effect GOVERNING AS A DICTATOR!

UNDERSTAND THIS, PEOPLE–THIS IS NOT HYPERBOLE!
