Open Thread: BAraCKWARDS! Hope and Change A Miserable Failure!

Why? You ask that ‘Hope and Change’ is a miserable failure?

Well, for one thing, if he had a successful record on which to run we would not see the LIES and the PANDERING of certain groups from the left.

The Obama propaganda team tries to distance itself from the now-infamous Romney cancer ad.  But there’s one problem …

Re-igniting the war on women, at a campaign stop this week, Dear Ruler accused Republicans of wanting to take the nation“back to policies more suited to the 1950s than the 21st century.”

We have not onenot twobut three members of the ObamaMedia who say that Mitt Romney’s ad on Obama gutting welfare reform is raaaaaaaacist.

His green energy programs, most of which went bankrupt…

The Solyndra scandal widens … Obama’s staff arranged for him to be personally briefed last summer on the loan program to help clean-energy companies like Solyndra.

NEGATIVE net job creation even after the stimulus (over $1 trillion in new spending), in which we were promised unemployment would not rise above 8%.  We have been over that for FORTY STRAIGHT MONTHS.  His team predicted that we would be around 5.6%.

Compared with each president since 1945, Obama ranks dead last in job creation, losing 316,000 jobs.

On Monday, August 13, the national debt will reach $16 trillion.  Obama, the same ruler who in 2009 promised to CUT THE DEFICIT IN HALF by the end of his first term, is responsible for more than $5 trillion of that debt.

Out of control spending with the stimulus and other WASTEFUL programs, Solyndra, nationalizing the auto industry, cash for clunkers, omnibus spending bills, etc. etc.

How the Department of Homeland Security wasted millions of tax dollars on a chemical facilities security program.

“We must pass healthcare to see what is in it.” – we were sold a FRAUD when it came to healthcare.  Premiums are going up at a more alarming rate that BEFORE and actually seeing a doctor will take longer and care will be rationed to control costs.

Nearly two-thirds of employers expect to see a cost hike in their health plans when ObamaCare goes into effect in 2014.

A new CBO report says that under ObamaCare, 30 million non-elderly Americans will remain without health insurance in 2022.

And from the GOVERNMENT IS OUT OF CONTROL FILE:

The Oregon man convicted of collecting rainwater and snow runoff on his own property surrendered to authorities this week to begin serving his 30-day jail sentence.

The looters, moochers and drones will insist on four more years of this train wreck of an administration.

Pathetic.

Keep it civil people….

Update: whatever happened to:

“I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits — either now or in the future.”
(Remarks by President Obama to a Joint Session of Congress, September 9, 2009)
This afternoon Budget Committee Ranking Member Ryan walked through why the bill put forward by Democrats FAILS the President’s deficit test.
Vice-Presidential candidate Paul Ryan took apart obamacare in six minutes.

Too funny. On one hand, elected Dem officials declare their intent to stay away from the Dem convention, clearly telegraphing their hopes of being disassociated with the campaign thuggery of the Left and the failed policies of Obama, and the trolls are silent.

On the other, some hack invents a vague and nonspecific mood that is supposedly shared by some on the Right, and mitche is on it like stink on, well, you get the idea.

And the analogy is very very apt.

    • Amazona August 10, 2012 / 7:18 pm

Huntsman is entitled to his opinion, and his grammar makes me even happier that he was eliminated from the running very early on. But his opinion carries no more weight than anyone else’s.

Romney knows that this whole invented scandal about his tax returns is nothing more an an effort to control the debate by making demands, and to entertain the rabble by giving them something they can gnaw on.

He knows, and we know, that the Obama base is too profoundly stupid to understand that they are being used, and too addicted to filth and smut to care.

What is more and more evident every single day is the growing distance between the dignified, ethical, relevant and honest campaign of a good man and the gutter politics of a Chicago thug and his cronies who have spent their entire political lives using vile and disgusting tactics.

      • dennis August 11, 2012 / 12:28 am

Ama, the real problem here is that Romney doesn’t trust the American people. And that’s a huge bugaboo.

If he’s confident he’s done no wrong and is qualified to be the president of all the people, he has nothing to fear from showing his returns. He should even be eager to. After all, his personal finances can reasonably be construed to be a reflection of his economic ideology and his policy priorities. And if he believes he is qualified to shape policies for the whole electorate, he should welcome their scrutiny of his own methodology – the nuts and bolts of his own success.

The fact that he’s not willing for ordinary people to see the schematic of his own financial dealings indicates a fundamental distrust of the American electorate. Make no mistake – that is what’s screwing him right now. And that’s why everyone calling for him to release his taxes is exactly right. After they’re released, that’s the time for him stand up like a man and defend them. But to stand up and defend non-disclosure is an essentially cowardly act, as seen in the broadest American tradition.

“Ama, the real problem here is that Romney doesn’t trust the American people. And that’s a huge bugaboo.” –Dennis

        Dennis,

Please, for a fiscal idiot you are really stuck on stupid. We currently (and previously if you count Bill Clinton) have a President(s) that has spent anywhere between (depending on who you read) from $2 -> $12 MILLION dollars just to keep his records from birth to present sealed–yet you see nothing wrong there. What is Obama hiding? If he has no fears, nothing to hide, and even understands the definition of “transparent”–release them all along with removing an illegitimate EO on Fast & Furious among others.

Go research Hyde Park & Obama’s role as the chairman of the $49.2 million Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Aside from all the money going down a rat-hole (with Rezco) we, the People, have never gotten an accounting of that disaster either.

It would behoove you to take some time and try to educate yourself on the One you have been waiting for (me–I am waiting for his ass to be kicked out of the WH) and a try a little dabbling in fiscal matters before mommy lets you play on the computer again.

On a side note–Romney’s VP pick is coming up shortly. No matter whom it is–I am voting to remove “The One” from our WH. AP (pack of lairs to be kind) is calling it for Ryan.

      • dennis August 11, 2012 / 2:13 am

Db, everybody funny, now you funny too.

Some matters are fundamentally relevant to policy and ethics, others are not. Personal taxes of presidential candidates happen to fall under the first category, details of Obama’s work history at his old law firm do not. Sorry, it’s that simple. The Annenburg Challenge was all about public school reform in Chicago – a worthy cause – but Obama’s involvement had nothing to do with amassing personal wealth, nor can be construed to reflect on his economic vision for the nation as a whole. It’s moot.

As for me and “the One [I] have been waiting for” – this is a connection spun from your own imagination. You show no evidence of having any idea where my loyalties actually lie. You’re just like Ama, Cluster and others here – you have your own imaginary narrative you impose on those with whom you disagree. This narrative is irrelevant because it circumvents objective reality and rests on assumptions that are unsupportable in the real world.

And incidentally, it looks like Romney has picked Ryan as his running mate.

      • tiredoflibbs August 11, 2012 / 7:43 am

denny the drone: “Some matters are fundamentally relevant to policy and ethics, others are not. Personal taxes of presidential candidates happen to fall under the first category, details of Obama’s work history at his old law firm do not.”

Really? Work history is not relevant to a candidate? Do you hire anyone (who am I kidding?) without looking at a resume? Personal history, background and work history also apply to ethics. Especially, when some exaggerate or pad their resumes to obtain a job. You do realize that being honest on your resume is part of ethics…. and lying about any part of that is a violation of ethics?

Who am I asking about ethics? Denny, a “man” who is very selective when it comes to being outraged or moral. Denny will find a way to excuse obAMATEUR and the Democrats, while strictly holding the GOP to his “high moral standards”. What a joke!

You do realize that people in sensitive positions in the government go through extensive background checks? The pResident, who has access to very sensitive and highly classified information do not go through such checks. We would want to know how he thinks, his beliefs and his history to be confident with having access to such information. You know something that a tax return will not tell you.

Denny, your logic is laughable at best.

But, of course, you have openly admitted that you will not criticize obAMATEUR here in this forum. You have absolutely no interest in his background, his work history or his ethics. But, to you, a tax return is all you need and require.

Denny, you are a hack and a mindless one at that.

        Pathetic.

      • Cluster August 11, 2012 / 8:29 am

        Dennis,

Work history is not important? So Bain is off the table?

        You’re such an idiot.

      • Amazona August 11, 2012 / 9:29 am

dennis is trying to reframe the discussion. Now, according to dennis, the questions about Obama center on his “work history”. Hmmmm. That’s news to me.

Sure, there are questions about how he got his job at that law firm and what exactly he did there and for whom, and of course there is the observation that political activist isn’t really a JOB in the usual sense of the word, but most of the curiosity about Obama’s past is about his pre-law past.

dennis claims that Romney’s INCOME is fair game, that everyone and his brother have some inalienable right to know everything there is to know about his business dealings. Why?

Oh, denny tells us why. According to denny, “After all, his personal finances can reasonably be construed to be a reflection of his economic ideology and his policy priorities. ”

But Romney has TOLD us his …”economic ideology and his policy priorities.” What about this do you not understand?

What is so funny is that denny is so economically illiterate he could examine Mitt’s tax returns for a decade and not have a clue as to his
“economic ideology and his policy priorities.”

And let’s face it—denny’s facile assertion is just BS.

He and his fellow travelers just want a written record of Romney’s income and his tax rate so they can attack him as being “too rich” and for not paying “enough” in taxes. That’s it, in a nutshell.

But denny goes on: “The fact that he’s not willing for ordinary people to see the schematic of his own financial dealings indicates a fundamental distrust of the American electorate.”

Again, BS. The Rabidly Radical Left and its minions (take a bow, denny..) are NOT “the American electorate” and it is the RRL that Romney can see through and recognize for what it is—-rabble focused on digging through his records to find something, ANYTHING, they can use against him and anyone he has ever done business with.

BTW, have you all noticed that “coward” seems to be the new word of the moment for the RRL?

I suppose if you live hand to mouth, picking up a little here and there from doing a little stained glass or taking some pictures, you WOULD be ignorant of the fact that every penny Romney earned was fully documented at its SOURCE, and his own tax returns had to match the amounts recorded. You financial illiterates act as if his money just appeared in his account somehow and then the only way to know how much there was is to trust what he says.. If Romney had any discrepancies in his tax returns they would have showed up immediately. The IRS is kind of picky about things like that.

      • Amazona August 11, 2012 / 10:00 am

        What’s important to denny?
How much money Mitt Romney made a few years ago.

        What’s not important to denny?
How Obama suddenly managed to be worth millions, while never really holding down any kind of real job at all.
Why Michelle got paid over $100,000 a year for a job invented for her and got her salary tripled when hubby got into the senate, a job which went away when she left it.

        What’s important to denny?
What Mitt Romney did to get rich

        What’s not important to denny?
What Obama did to show expertise in ANYTHING except promoting Marxist ideology.

        What’s important to denny?
What Mitt Romney paid in taxes

        What’s NOT important to denny?
How a stoner/drunk with bad high school grades got into Occidental
        How he got into Columbia
What names he used at these schools
What grades he got at these schools
Who paid for him to go to these schools
How he got into prestigious Harvard Law
Who paid for him to go to Harvard Law
What grades he got at Harvard
When and where he registered for Selective Service
What passport he used when he went to Pakistan
What state he was living in when he got his Social Security #

What was it dennis said about Romney’s tax returns? Let’s just change one little word in that statement, OK?

If he’s confident he’s done no wrong and is qualified to be the president of all the people, he has nothing to fear from showing his RECORDS

But let’s not stop quoting dennis here. Let’s go on to:

“After they’re released, that’s the time for him stand up like a man and defend them. But to stand up and defend non-disclosure is an essentially cowardly act, as seen in the broadest American tradition.

Now, to put it all in perspective:

Other presidential candidates have released their school records, medical records, and a couple of years of their tax records. (John F’n Kerry released only partial and redacted medical and military records.)

Mitt Romney has released his school records and the same number of years of tax records as other presidential candidates

Barack Obama has released NONE of his school records, or his Selective Service records, or his passport records, and had to be hounded for YEARS to release any birth records—which have since been examined by forensic specialists and found to be, at the very least, questionable.

I have noticed that the longer dennis posts here the more blatant is his dishonesty. Now he doesn’t even try to hide his double standard.

      • Amazona August 11, 2012 / 10:39 am

dennis dismisses questions about how Obama came out of nowhere to become head of the prestigious Annenberg Challenge, and the work he did there, thus:

“The Annenburg Challenge was all about public school reform in Chicago – a worthy cause – but Obama’s involvement had nothing to do with amassing personal wealth, nor can be construed to reflect on his economic vision for the nation as a whole. It’s moot.”

See, boys and girls? There’s nothing to see here, just keep moving, that’s the ticket…

        But if you go to:http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122212856075765367.html
you will find a fascinating article by Stanley Kurtz about Obama, Ayers and Annenberg, and gee, what a surprise! it doesn’t have nearly such a benign and meaningless association as dennis would like us to believe. Here is part of the article (emphasis mine)

“Despite having authored two autobiographies, Barack Obama has never written about his most important executive experience. From 1995 to 1999, he led an education foundation called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), and remained on the board until 2001. The group poured more than $100 million into the hands of community organizers and radical education activists.

The CAC was the brainchild of Bill Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground in the 1960s………..

The Chicago Annenberg Challenge was created ostensibly to improve Chicago’s public schools. The funding came from a national education initiative by Ambassador Walter Annenberg. In early 1995, Mr. Obama was appointed the first chairman of the board, which handled fiscal matters. Mr. Ayers co-chaired the foundation’s other key body, the “Collaborative,” which shaped education policy.

………… The Daley archives show that Mr. Obama and Mr. Ayers worked as a team to advance the CAC agenda.

One unsettled question is how Mr. Obama, a former community organizer fresh out of law school, could vault to the top of a new foundation? In response to my questions, the Obama campaign issued a statement saying that Mr. Ayers had nothing to do with Obama’s “recruitment” to the board. The statement says Deborah Leff and Patricia Albjerg Graham (presidents of other foundations) recruited him. Yet the archives show that, along with Ms. Leff and Ms. Graham, Mr. Ayers was one of a working group of five who assembled the initial board in 1994. Mr. Ayers founded CAC and was its guiding spirit. No one would have been appointed the CAC chairman without his approval.

The CAC’s agenda flowed from Mr. Ayers’s educational philosophy, which called for infusing students and their parents with a radical political commitment, and which downplayed achievement tests in favor of activism. In the mid-1960s, Mr. Ayers taught at a radical alternative school, and served as a community organizer in Cleveland’s ghetto

Awwww, according to dennis, the Annenberg Challenge was nothing more than, how did he put it? “public school REFORM”

Yeah, REFORM, all right. Reforming from achievement-based education to political indoctrination.

So when you look at the politics indoctrinated into Chicago students you see pretty much everything you need to know about Obama’s “…. economic vision for the nation as a whole.”

If you’re still in the dark about Obama’s “.. economic vision for the nation as a whole.” take a look at what he has done since he got into the White House.

        Moot, my donkey!

      • tiredoflibbs August 11, 2012 / 1:17 pm

Yeah Ama, remember Ayers was “just some guy who lived in my neighborhood”….

Denny is so easily convinced that there is nothing to see anywhere when it comes to obAMATEUR. He has openly admitted that he will not criticize obAMATEUR here… More dishonesty on Denny’s part. Denny is nothing more than a mindless drone. He will not ask the correct questions of his pResident, but will not hesitate to ask them of others.

        Pathetic.

Cluster, do you think the doc is saying that Barry is OUT OF TOUCH !!??

  1. Amazona August 10, 2012 / 7:13 pm

Wow. mitche, such insightful political commentary! An imaginary character assumes knowledge of a culture he pretends to understand only by pretending to be someone else, and then tries to tie this in to a political foe in a slimy effort at character assassination, in a truly vile and despicable hit piece that only slime could find tolerable much less worth passing on.

Which is why mitche loved it and passed it on.

I predict that at no time in the remaining election cycle will any of the PL trolls ever discuss actual politics, but will drool with delight over every consecutively nastier and more vicious personal attack on Romney.

The reason this will be the filthiest campaign ever is easily explained by what attracts the lemmings, what they find meaningful. Obama knows his base, and knows he cannot sink too low for them.

    • dbschmidt August 11, 2012 / 1:19 am

Well, if any of the trolls actually knew how Obama got to office then they also know this is going to be nothing but attacks because Obama has never won an honest contest in his life. Every “campaign” is nothing but attacks, getting your opponent removed from the ballot or smearing opponents using sealed court records opened by proxy (MSM). I am sure they know that he has had all Democrat opponents removed from ballots so he would run unopposed.

Sat. morning Romney will have a VP selection and it will be time to go on the attack. Their weapons are Obama’s record, words, and actions. Dismal is being kind but no matter how much proof the lemmings get–mudslinging and false (outright lies) are all the only thing we will see from now till November. The truth will set you free. Try it sometime.

  2. GMB August 11, 2012 / 5:33 am

Hmm, interesting stuff. Still all the mud is only sticking with the hyper partisan rats like bomber boy. This is all barky has? His internals must be horrible. His only hope is too try and suppress the turnout for Mitt?

      • Cluster August 11, 2012 / 8:22 am

        Patriot,

Ryan is smarter than Obama and Biden combined, of course there is a big handicap with Biden. He appeals to, and has won election in a very blue state, thinks outside the box on challenging issues, articulates conservative thought like few others, helped Governor Walker win a recall election against massive union money in a very blue state, and represents the future of the conservative movement

Democrats should be very worried. in fact the liberal brain at MSNBC are sputtering all over themselves right now.

      • Cluster August 11, 2012 / 8:27 am

Oh he is in touch. In touch with the majority of center right conservatives. He is out of touch with selfish, government centered liberals – which is a great thing.

Soon the gloves will come off and Romney and Ryan will start to tear Obama apart limb by limb. If you think what Romney did to Newt in the primary was rough, you have no idea what will soon befall Obama and I can’t wait. They are not going to attack just his policies, they are going to tear apart his ideology.

        Pass the popcorn please.

      • Amazona August 11, 2012 / 9:35 am

This clearly went waaayyyyyy over your pointy little head, p-dad, but my “out of touch” comment was extremely sarcastic, pointing out the new brainless motto of the desperate Left.

OUT OF TOUCH !!!!!! bellow the lemmings, as Michelle traipses off to Spain with her retinue on a lavish vacation.

OUT OF TOUCH !!!!!! squeak the lemmings while she goes to a photo op showing her feeding the homeless in tennies costing hundreds.

OUT OF TOUCH !!!!!! bray the donkeys while the economy goes into a death spiral and unemployment mounts and Barry avoids dealing with the jobs issue in favor of playing yet more golf.

Full Attack Mode: Obama Team Launches Anti-Ryan Ad & Website Calling VP Pick ‘Severely Conservative’

“Out of touch with most Americans’ values.

  6. labman57 August 12, 2012 / 6:31 pm

Paul Ryan took the stage upon being introduced (as our next POTUS by Mitt!) and immediately went on a diatribe, borrowing trite talking points from the right wing blogosphere and proclaiming to all the world that Obama “has a record of failure”.

Ryan is right — Obama HAS failed.

He has failed to kowtow to the demands of the self-serving Congressional Republican leadership, opting instead for a strategy of compromise.

He has failed to be deterred or distracted by the ill-mannered, irrational tea party crowd, by the racist birther loons, or by the bombastic, bellicose pundits and members of the blogosphere who continually attempt to portray him as an unAmerican, Marxist, Christian-hating tyrant who “sees the U.S. differently than do normal citizens”.

He has failed to permit sanctimonious, intolerant, socially-regressive conservatives free rein in their quest to scapegoat Hispanics, persecute the gay community, or attack the rights and health care needs of women.

He has failed to allow devious, avaricious fiscal conservatives succeed in their efforts to completely undermine the nation’s economic recovery.

Yep, I can certainly see why Paul Ryan and his ultra-conservative cohort suffer from so much angst.

    • Amazona August 12, 2012 / 6:42 pm

But congrats—-I don’t think you missed a single RRL talking point—and a few lies, as well, but then what would a PL rant be without a few lies. No persecution of gays, no attacking rights and health care needs of women (or even those whiny overaged little girls the RRL digs up to whimper on TV ads) and no scapegoating of anyone, much less Hispanics.

And by the way, it is free REIGN—“rein” comes from horsemanship and is used to indicate slowing, whereas “reign” denotes power and authority.

I’m sure you feel much lighter now, having dumped all that mental excrement here, so toddle off now to listen to Ed Schultz and find out what else you think.

Don’t worry—we’ll clean up after you, just as we do when you pull your Occupy antics, have your snits about WTO, and engage in your other infantile temper tantrums.

BTW, next time you drop in, do try to bring along something that actually has something to do with POLITICS—that is, the best system for governing the nation—-and not just what you pulled out of your tighty whities for the occasion.

Oooooh! The dreaded FISCAL CONSERVATIVES !!!!!!

      Can you even DEFINE “conservative”?

I doubt it. You don’t sound like a person interested in reality, what with your wallowing in a fantasy world where fiscal conservatism is a pejorative and an economic death spiral is a “recovery”.

But go ahead, give it a shot.

wow lab, speaking of going into a diatribe and regurgitating the mindless dumbed down talking points of the left wing blogosphere!

You, like obAMATEUR, go on the attack rather than defend your pResident’s record of success.

Welcome to the sleaziest campaign brought to you by obAMATEUR and his mindless drones! We already have the pResident on record lying about his and lying about the intentions of the non-proggies. obAMATEUR can only attack his opponent (why that is par for the course since that is what he has done his whole career in politics!) rather than run on his qualifications and accomplishments. Look at the sleazy way he won his Senate seat!

The stimulus, which he was able to get passed (thanks to a DEMOCRATIC House and Senate), was to fix the economy and get the recovery going. No conservative obstruction (but obAMATEUR blamed the Japan earthquakes, the failure of European Union, the Arab Spring, the floods, the drought, ATMs and kiosks and not conservatives) was the reason for the stimulus failure. The stimulus was political payoffs and a spending wish list for proggies.

ObAMATEUR’s failure was his and his alone. But why should you accept FACT when you have such carefully crafted dumbed down talking points for the ignorant masses of the left to regurgitate?

      Let’s see:

“He has failed to kowtow to the demands of the self-serving Congressional Republican leadership, opting instead for a strategy of compromise.”
ObAMATEUR caved on extending the tax cuts. His other “compromises” were his way – all or nothing.

“He has failed to be deterred or distracted by the ill-mannered, irrational tea party crowd, by the racist birther loons, or by the bombastic, bellicose pundits and members of the blogosphere who continually attempt to portray him as an unAmerican, Marxist, Christian-hating tyrant who “sees the U.S. differently than do normal citizens”.”

Yeah those ill mannered TEA party rallies that were rampant with crime, trash, filth, rape, crapping on police cars – OH WAIT – obAMATEUR and his fellow DEMOCRATS praised those Occupy losers!! Marxist? by his own admission in his books and by his practice of “spreading the wealth”, “economic fairness”, wealth and class warfare. etc. etc.

“He has failed to permit sanctimonious, intolerant, socially-regressive conservatives free rein in their quest to scapegoat Hispanics, persecute the gay community, or attack the rights and health care needs of women.”

Wow, all of these are just LIES and mindless rhetoric and are indefensible simply because they are not true.

“He has failed to allow devious, avaricious fiscal conservatives succeed in their efforts to completely undermine the nation’s economic recovery.”
Please tell us what efforts undermined the recovery? – A wash, rinse and repeat of the first stimulus that was a massive failure?

First, labexperiment57, you need a dose of reality. Second, you need to stop regurgitating mindless talking points, which is a result of consuming the kook-left kool-aid in massive quantities. And thirdly, you need to evolve from a mindless drone to an average human being with a mind of his own.

      Pathetic.

Tired, I doubt that the lab experiment will slink back here—it was probably a drive-by dump, to release the incredible pressure the RRL and its PL minions have to be feeling over the prospect of facing the R&R team.

It’s like the Bad News Bears going up against the Yankees—if the Bad News Bears were foul-mouthed and hate driven as well as inept.

We’ll see more of this, because this is all they’ve got. I notice that one of the PL trolls actually managed to drag BUSH into this, though a little indirectly, so we can see that the Excuse Machine is going to be ramped up to full rpm for this campaign.

And we ought to ace it. After all, if we could stop Barry and the Boyz in their tracks when they controlled all three branches of government, we must be pretty darned good, eh?

If labman comes back, try to hang on to him and give us a call. We switched his brain with a rat’s. His IQ went up 40 points but the rat killed himself—he couldn’t handle the downgrade. Don’t worry—he’s fairly harmless unless he drools on you.
