Worst President Re-Release Open Thread

The Worst President in History has been re-released. It has been updated! We’re very proud of this book and are pleased that it has done so well. Just to tip you off, Matt and I just got another idea for a book, so stay tuned. And buy this one, if you haven’t!

So, there’s this anti-ICE camp and, get this, they’ve set up borders for the camp and they strictly control who is allowed inside. I’d accuse them of hypocrisy, but there’s just no point because they are shameless.

California, since 1968, has been granted waivers to go beyond the national clean air standards – and the liberals of California have used these waivers to leverage the rest of the nation to subscribe to California’s clean air standards. Looks like the EPA may end that practice. On one hand, this is good as it prevents California from effectively dictating national auto emission standards…on the other hand, the more unlivable the liberals make California, the closer we get to the day the liberals are crushed in California. I’m distressed that we might be helping the liberals get rid of some of their own stupid mistakes.

Looks like the North Korean are dismantling at least some of their nuclear infrastructure. The MSM has been relentless in not covering this.

There was yet another in the series of “waiter gets racist note” events. Naturally, the MSM ran with the story…and just as naturally, it has now proved false. You might be thinking: why do they keep doing this? Well, the reason is that the retraction never gets much notice, at all, and zero notice on the left. Rely on it, most people of the left firmly believe that each of these events actually happened, just as they still believe “hands up, don’t shoot” is true. These stories aren’t for you and me: they are for the true believers of the Left, to keep them at a fever pitch.

Have any of you seen Interstellar? Every time I hear people talking about it, they are saying it is the very worst Sci-Fi movie ever made. I think it the best. If you’ve seen it, what do you think?

I think one thing is very clear today …. Michael Cohen’s career as an attorney is over. No one will ever trust him again to handle their personal matters.

Well there goes another liberal media narrative down the drain:

President Trump announced Wednesday that he has secured major trade concessions from European Union officials as part of an effort to head off a trade war between the U.S. and the E.U.

After talks at the White House with E.U. officials, Trump announced in a joint Rose Garden appearance that the delegation agreed to increase imports of soybeans and liquefied natural gas. Both sides agreed to work toward the goal of “zero” tariffs and subsidies on non-auto industrial goods and to “resolve” recent tariffs that both sides have imposed…….”We had a big day, very big,” Trump said. “We set out to launch a new phase of close friendship between the United States and the European Union, strong trade relationships where both of us will win.”

I guess maybe Trump does know what he is doing. But I want to thank all past Clinton, Bush, and Obama for allowing this trade imbalance to linger costing Americans jobs and money over the past two decades. Remember, the media calls them the “real” Presidents.

I can’t help but think the accumulative “unintended consequences” created by so many ill-conceived ideas / laws by recent past Presidents / Congresses are being dissolved one-by-one by Trump’s more common sense approach to much of what ails the US (meaning “the people”). As the destructiveness of these follies are buried, people are starting to realize just how many lies they’ve been told by politicians in general and by the liberal / communist approach to how they want to run things. The results of these new policies are generating a better life for most people, in spite of the continuous screeching by the media and elitist left who will stoop very low to most anything they think will generate traction. More and more, people tire of the constant screaming, lies and malicious acts of the left. The left will be the cause of their own downfall – rightly so. We only needed a President willing to do what he campaigned on. What a novel idea.

The concept way in the past was to allow the Free World to trade openly with us because that would keep them wealthy enough to be immune to a Communist takeover…not sure that the Democratic Socialist takeover was all that much of an improvement, but there it was. This worked out fine for us from about 1945 until 1970…ie, just as long as it took for the world to rebuild itself and recover prosperity after WWII. But, meanwhile, a powerful constituency in the United States got rich off this trade – which included sending our manufacturing capacity overseas in order to marginally increase corporate profits here at home. When it no longer became economically viable, it was still vigorously defended…and, for a long while, the overall state of middle class kept people from paying attention…but, now, no one can ignore it and people are realizing that allowing us to be an economic dumping ground just doesn’t work.

If we had the writing skills of Derek Hunter, this is something several of us on the blog could have written.

Did Donald Trump have an affair 12 years ago? Did he have more than one affair 12 years ago? And did he pay off women to keep their mouths shut about those affairs? I don’t know, but more than that, I don’t care.

There are a lot of interested parties who want me to care, they want you to care, too. I just can’t bring myself to.

When I voted for Donald Trump I wasn’t voting for Pope, I was voting for president. I had no delusions that he was someone I wanted one of my sisters to marry, I knew that he was a much better choice than Hillary Clinton for the issues I cared about. In all honesty, I expected him to be a bad president, just not as bad as Hillary would have been.

It turns out Trump is a much better president than I could have imagined and likely better than the professional politicians he ran against for the GOP nomination would have been. He didn’t owe the existing power structures in Washington anything and isn’t in the business of horse-trading for votes and favors, all too common in DC.

I read that article too this morning …. very good

Schlichter has another good one out today too ….

      https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtschlichter/2018/07/26/why-we-never-get-tired-of-winning-and-never-trumpers-never-get-tired-of-losing-n2503154

And as usual he nails it ……

In 2016, Normal Americans rebelled against an establishment composed of liberal fascists in government and a hateful cultural elite, as well as their allegedly conservative kept boys who placed their personal positions and prosperity above the people’s interests.

      • M. Noonan July 26, 2018 / 11:23 pm

And we’ll soon see if it really worked – if the GOP gets blown out in November, then Trump is an anomaly (a speed bump on the way to Democratic Socialism and the end of the United States). If the GOP holds its own (or better), then Trump represents a fundamental shift in American politics.

Very astute comment from Tucker Carlson:

To the modern Democratic Party, Americans are an afterthought. Try to find a Democrat running this year on the opioid crisis, or high energy prices or the collapse of public schools or the decline of the middle class. They’re bored by those topics. What interests them is power. In order to win and maintain power, Democrats need reliable new voters, voters who will support them obediently, without making difficult demands, like higher standards of living.

Yesterday I heard many progressive reporters anguish over the plight of one illegal immigrant child whose parents could not be located. Has anyone ever heard these same reporters express even the remotest concern over the kids in Chicago?

    • Amazona July 27, 2018 / 9:12 pm

Why couldn’t these parents be located? Is because they loaned or sold their child to a human trafficker to be dragged across Mexico and be used as a pawn in Obama’s Bring A Kid, Get A Pass inducement to child abuse, who then abandoned it? This is not uncommon, though the howling Left is now demanding that separating children from adults who have dragged them to the border is inhumane and the work of a monster, while leaving vulnerable children with these people who may not even be related to them is somehow better.

They would rather see human traffickers go free and enter the United States, even if they then dump those innocent little pawns to become victims of even more human traffickers, this time usually in the sex trade, than admit the administration is right in sequestering them until a legal relationship is established.

They are totally indifferent to the suffering of young children forced to endure a long and miserable trip across at least one country, in stressful conditions ranging from uncomfortable to dangerous to lethal, to be used as pawns at the border and then too often abandoned to fend for themselves and be picked up my other human traffickers and enslaved. None of this matters to them. None of it.

They not only don’t care about the kids in Chicago, they don’t even care about the kids at the border. They are vile, hypocritical two-faced liars driven by wild irrational hatred of Donald Trump, and by extension anyone who does not agree with them that he is evil incarnate, and any lip service paid to the fate of these children is just that—-fake lip service, for the cameras.

    This is fantastic ….

….he (Michigan Governor Candidate) also happens to be one of eight candidates around the country who have earned the blessing of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Democratic Socialist wunderkind from New York City who convulsed the political world by pulling off the upset of the year in her late June primary defeat of Rep. Joe Crowley.

In the month since her win, Ocasio-Cortez has gotten too big to stay put in the Bronx. She’s become an instant celebrity of the Democratic resistance as well as a prime pinata for right wing adversaries seizing on her every utterance.

Keep in mind that Ocasio-Cortez won her primary with just a total of 15,000 votes in one NY Congressional district yet the Democrats see that as a national mandate.

I don’t think it works out well for them …..

    • Amazona July 27, 2018 / 9:14 pm

How many of these eight have begged her to withdraw her support before she drags them down with her?

  6. jdge1 July 27, 2018 / 2:05 pm

Let’s see. Nomination of Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, GDP hits 4.1%, remains of US soldiers in North Korea are returning home, NK has started dismantling their nuclear weapons, 3 judge panel on the 9th US court of appeals upholds the right to open carry (can’t wait to see how that plays out with other blue states who’ve instituted highly restrictive carry laws), and liberal heads exploding (again) – kind of a busy few weeks. What’s not to like?

    • Amazona July 28, 2018 / 9:01 am

Did you know that more than a decade ago he might have had a sexual experience with a porn actress?

Because that is the only thing that matters to the howling mobs of TDSers.
At least they have quit whining about his hair.

      • Retired Spook July 28, 2018 / 10:05 am

I think the Left is a lot more bothered by the fact that more and more Conservatives don’t care “that more than a decade ago he might have had a sexual experience with a porn actress” than that he actually engaged in such an indiscretion. Maybe they can sue Saul Alinsky’s estate for our failure to play by that rule any more. If we can just have some patience and continue to co-opt their playbook, they will eventually abort and transgender themselves into oblivion.

      • Cluster July 28, 2018 / 11:18 am

I have noticed that there is a huge wave of virulent criticism of Trump from “Christians” and my response is that my own particular approach to Christianity is one of belief in redemption, salvation and forgiveness, while theirs clearly is not. It is also that God can probably handle the judgment part of dealing with humanity without any help from them, as it’s kind of in His job description, and maybe these “Christians” should just stay in their own lane and focus on what is actually ASSIGNED to them as Christians.

Which happens to include forgiveness and belief in redemption and salvation

        They don’t like that.

There is also a wave of allegedly former Republicans who were always conservative—–till Trump. Yeah, we’ve heard that before. They spout hard-core Leftist nonsense in hard-core Leftist vernacular and style, but every now and then try the old “if Trump were gone I’d vote Republican again”.

George Will not only abandoned any claim to ever having been a true conservative, he pushed it over a cliff and set it on fire. No hammering out those dents, George. That sucker is totaled. Some who have had temper tantrums about Trump have started to ease their way back toward sanity, a little at a time but…baby steps. Not so for Will, no matter who is president. Advising people to vote for Democrats will make that impossible.

There are a few who used to have actual conservative credentials, though they are now being proved to be false, but I doubt that any of these poseurs who post claims to have been loyal Republicans driven away by the monstrosity that is Trump have ever voted for a Republican. It’s just one of those silly Lib tactics they seem to think are so effective.

One of my favorite things on Twitter is to see people in favor of abortion try to Christian-splain how my religion requires me to allow all the illegals to come in. Another favorite thing is watching Never Trumpers (David French went full Never Trump today on Twitter) tell me how they are totally against Hillary, but we’ve really got to look in to how Trump stole the election from her…

That last bit got me thinking and those of you who have been here long enough might recall that time I appeared a couple times on a TV talk show about politics…I got the host mad at me the first time I was on by calling an opinion “absurd” and I could tell right away that I had got the guy mad. So, the second time I went back on I kept telling myself “don’t use ‘absurd’, don’t use ‘absurd”…but, sure enough, a liberal said something absurd and I said, “hey, that’s absurd”. I never got invited back on again. I wasn’t a tame conservative…but, perhaps, if I had been I would have got more invites and maybe got a little fame and money and then I’d be afraid of losing it (as a complete nobody, the network still sent a limo to pick me up…it was very nice to be treated that way; made me feel special). The bottom line is that there is vastly more money and prestige in being in tight with the MSM. Perhaps one day some Conservative billionaire will start to really change that but until such a time, there are going to be plenty of Conservatives who will choose the limo ride over standing firm for Conservatism. And that is all the Never Trumpers are really doing: making sure the limo still shows up for them. There’s only a tiny number of places for pro-Trump Conservatives, and they’re all filled…but there can be an endless number of slots for anti-Trump Conservatives.

      • Amazona July 28, 2018 / 6:56 pm

Yeah, “Jesus was an illegal immigrant” is such a compelling argument.

    • jdge1 July 28, 2018 / 11:44 am

And what about the things we don’t hear about from the media?

President Trump was right when he said, “Our veterans, in many cases, are being treated worse than illegal immigrants, people that come into our country illegally.”

1.) The President started fixing the problems at the VA by giving agency administrators the power to terminate employees faster and more effectively. Since signing the VA Accountability Act last summer, the Trump administration has already removed more than 1,500 VA employees who failed to give our veterans the care they deserve.

2.) After it was found that more than one-third of calls to the VA suicide hotline were left unanswered, the White House opened a brand new VA hotline staffed principally by veterans and veterans’ relatives to ensure that no complaint goes unaddressed.

3.) President Trump’s Executive Order on Improving Accountability and Whistleblower Protection also established a VA Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection.

4.) The VA’s “Anywhere to Anywhere” healthcare program, which allows agency providers to use tele-health technology to remotely treat veterans, has been expanded. VA Video Connect, an application which allows veterans and healthcare providers to directly connect from anywhere in the country, has also been rolled out in more locations. Finally, over 100 VA sites across the country have started using the Online Scheduling Tool, which allows veterans to schedule appointments from their phones, tablets, or computers.

Why it has taken so long for our politicians to address these horrendous inefficiencies with our veterans care is beyond me. Totally inexcusable. This is just one example of Trump making a positive difference that most people likely never hear about unless it’s pointed out by people like those who frequent this blog.

      • Amazona July 28, 2018 / 2:25 pm

Thanks for that information. Maybe some of it will come out in campaigns this fall, but it sure won’t be covered by the Complicit Agenda Media.

      • jdge1 July 28, 2018 / 3:04 pm

And how could I forget about our newly negotiated trade deal with the EU? In particular when so many of Trump’s detractors told us it (the tariffs) would be disastrous.

      • Amazona July 28, 2018 / 7:00 pm

But the loons are still howling about the “trade war” and its devastating affect on soooo many people. Did you know that people will die because of the trade war?

BTW, have any tariffs actually been put in place yet? I always saw the whole tariff thing as a ploy, a way to say “you wanna play rough? THIS is rough”. And the EU said “no, sir, we do not want to play rough, no sirree, can we be friends now?”
