The Turks are going to once again use the Hagia Sophia as a Mosque. Remember this when they whine about “Islamophobia” or demand a “right of return” to Israel. I realize we lost the church when the Turks conquered it and raped, murdered or enslaved its last congregation…but, that it was converted to a museum was an acknowledgement that it was stolen property and that Islam wanted to live in peace with the West. This is a declaration of war against the West: make no mistake about it. Erdogan sees himself as a reincarnation of Mehmed the Conqueror. Way past time to either kick Turkey out of NATO or withdraw from NATO is they insist upon keeping this enemy power within the ranks. One day, I pray, those hideous minarets will be removed from that crown jewel of Justinian the Great and Mass will once again be heard there.

Meanwhile, we have our own savages to contend with:

Boston police are investigating an arson at a Boston church after a Virgin Mary statue was set on fire Saturday night.

Officers responded at about 10 p.m. to a report of a fire near Saint Peter Parish in the city’s Dorchester neighborhood.

Upon arrival, the officers saw that a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary had been set on fire.

Remember: as Our Lord said, they hated him first and they hate us because of him.

The McCloskey’s – that couple which completely peacefully advised BLM people that they couldn’t come on private property – have been served with warrants and their firearms have been seized. This is how they’ll do it, folks: it won’t be a general confiscation…but one by one they’ll pick off people who are vulnerable and take their arms away. The NRA so far has been completely useless in this – though as the link says, a local gun store is stepping up to the plate. Make no mistake about it: by taxes, regulation and selective prosecution, the Left is determined to disarm us, 2A or not.

Trump has told the Minnesota Democrats who orchestrated the riots to pound sand on a federal disaster declaration. And that is the right thing to do – we could, perhaps, get some votes by swooping in there with cash, but the bottom line is that would be to reward criminality. I do feel for the innocent businesses which were wrecked: but Minnesotans voted for these Democrats and they’ll have to make this right, themselves.

Feeling down? Don Surber is sticking with his prediction of a 37 State win for Trump.

    They can try!

It’s generally recognized that there are at least 400 million privately owned firearms in the U.S. and only 132,000 federal law enforcement officers (including administrative and command). The math isn’t hard. Disarming America would be.

      Three things that I remember or think of in response;
      1. Government is force.
      2. Follow the money.
      3. The Japanese did not an would not attack America mainland because as I badly paraphrase this; “Because the would be a gun behind every blade of grass.”

I think we need to understand that what we have been describing as the “Left” for so many years is now mainstream Democrat Party … so when you say “make no mistake about it, the Left is determined to disarm us” … you’re speaking of ALL Democrats. It’s who they are. Some of course will lie, or gloss over their intentions while campaigning but again “make no mistake”, these are not honorable people nor are they even Americans at this point. They ALL believe that American is flawed from it’s inception so these are people I no longer care to share a country with. Just remember the “you can keep your doctor” refrain and know that they will willfully lie and deceive to further their agenda.

One thing to note during the Democrat riots, no Mosques were effected, nor were any Popeye’s Chicken places burned down.

This is lovely. Can’t seem to find this reported in the news:

Young mother, 24, is shot dead in front of her fiancé after saying “all lives matter” during an argument with Black Lives Matter supporters

So while they fret over a flag, just know that Democrats are murderers, hell look at the Clinton’s record.

And any City who “gave space for rioters to destroy” should not receive one dime of federal aid. Let them swim in their own sewer and then highlight every day the dystopian nature of big Democrat cities and remind voters that a vote for any Democrat is a vote to live in squalor and chaos.

One thing we know for sure though is that Democrat men will never take up arms to defend their ideology. They simply don’t have what it takes, none of them. They are all metro sexualized or gender fluid so when someone like Beto Francis O’Rourke comes to take guns away, he’d best be prepared for confrontation and I hope he has his affairs in order.

Most of them don’t even have a real ideology. We learned that here. Their “ideology” boils down to Republican=Bad. It is so ingrained now, so accepted, that it has morphed into Anything Not Republican=Good.

Now that the political structure the Democrat Party represents is no longer hidden, maybe some of the Legacy Dems will realize these are not their people. However, given the duration and intensity of the Republican=Bad indoctrination, it will be hard for them to vote for a Republican. It will help us if they just don’t vote at all, but I would sure like to open up the GOP and make it, once again, the Big Tent party.

To do that we need to stop making ISSUES the tent pole of the party. We need to stop telling the orphans out there that the only way they can come into our party is to give up the emotion-based issues that really matter to them. The Dems skillfully shifted politics from ideology to issues, which has led to their expansion in size and power because issues appeal to people and matter to them. We need to start telling them they can bring their issues with them, as long as they agree that nearly all of them are outside the scope and power of the federal government and have to be addressed at the state level.

(Or, in a nod to “other levels of government”, in school boards or HOAs.)

I don’t understand why any governor, mayor or police chief who has refused to enforce the law, even encouraged and abetted crimes, is not charged with complicity in those crimes. There is aiding and abetting, there is conspiracy to commit, there are so many ways to charge people who knowingly enable criminal activity. Hit those mayors with some RICO charges. Hit those police chiefs with federal charges of complicity in committing crimes and obstruction of justice.

Democrats are again, destroying everything they touch. Here’s the latest from the brain damaged people in Hollywood:

A revolution is under way. White actors are being fired. Edicts from studio bosses make it clear that only minorities – racial and sexual – can be given jobs.

A new wave of what has been termed by some as anti-white prejudice is causing writers, directors and producers to fear they will never work again. One described the current atmosphere as ‘more toxic than Chernobyl’, with leading actors afraid to speak out amid concern they will be labelled racist.

“More toxic than Chernobyl” is an excellent characterization of the current Democrat Party.

Graham explains that in a town buzzing with buzzwords, the newest one is “Bipoc,” which refers to “Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.” Those are the good guys and gals (and “its” if you want to bring in the transgender). Meanwhile, the enemy is the “Menemy,” which refers to a white, male person who has the temerity to think he can still be employed simply because he has the skills and talent to do the job.

Black people are typically the most racist people on the planet and we all need to start saying that out loud everyday. They do not get a pass simply because they are mentally weak, over emotional, and maniacally obsessed with their skin color.

‘So, to the white men in this thread… if you don’t get that job you were up for, kindly remember… bias can go both ways. This is 2020 speaking.’

They are definitely itching for a war and I for one am letting them know to just “SAY WHEN”

Isn’t it funny how the Left has remained so indignant about McCarthy, when he only targeted a few known Communists, and are now targeting entire demographics of race and gender? McCarthy targeted Communists because their ideology was (and is) dangerous to freedom, but the new Super-McCarthyites are targeting people just because they don’t like them. That, and they are drunk on power.

But this IS the Left. The violence, the mobs, the intimidation, the killing, the threats, the purges, the Thought Police, the forced “confessions”, the secret Star Chamber “trials”, the use of the government to spy on citizens to try to find something to use against them, the efforts to get people to turn in their neighbors (and even parents) for Wrongthink–it’s all history repeating itself.

The only part of this remotely like justice is that so many who are now being purged for their skin color or lack of sexual “diversity” have supported the Left and helped it reach the level of power it now has. We kept telling them “They’ll come after YOU next” and they laughed and said “No, they are only going to come after Republicans and Christians and Wrongthinkers”. And now they are unemployed, broke and rejected. Awwwww

And now they are unemployed, broke and rejected. Awwwww

Yeah, too bad, so sad. It begs the question, though, will such people have an epiphany and realign themselves with those of us who value freedom, or will they figure out a way to………….well, quite fankly, I don’t know what their alternatives are. Sucks to be them.

      • Amazona July 13, 2020 / 1:24 pm

I think they really think they are giving up what everyone else has, and it is a rude surprise to find out they are losing their own stuff too. Kind of like being OK when the mob goes after other people but being stunned when it turns on them.

White progressives are literally that stupid. I assume binary brain and fielding are white progressive little fucks as they preen, posture, and virtue signal their way thru life all the while being completely oblivious to the fact that their stature in the movement they profess to love is tenuous at best. It’s only a matter of time before they too are discarded for failing to meet the purity test.

I discovered a channel called EuroNews over the weekend and ended up watching it quite a bit. How refreshing. Actual objective news from around the world with no commentary, no racial angles, and no assigning of blame. It’s news for adults and really exposes how childish our media is. How many of you know that the UAE, China, and the United States are launching an unmanned space probe to Mars this week?? I have not seen this reported in any of our media.

I thought of a good name for the DC football team—the Washington Cravens. The logo should be a kneeling football player with his head bowed and his hands over the back of his head in a protective posture.

    • Cluster July 13, 2020 / 2:25 pm

Cravens is good. I’m still hoping for Crackers

      • dbschmidt July 14, 2020 / 6:19 pm

Sorry. Not enough Crackers unless, like the left, we want “Diversity” … basically, forced diversity is blatant racism. The again, so is picking your VP candidate based on sex and race.

    • Retired Spook July 13, 2020 / 3:53 pm

They should hold a contest to see who can come up with a name that will offend the fewest people. They did that with my high school which was also the Redskins. I thought “Warriors” would honor native Americans, project an image of strength and tenaciousness and let them keep their mascot — a threefer. Instead they chose the Legends, and most Alumnai I know were like WTF?

I also graduated from a college whose nickname was the Redskins – Miami University. They were one of the first to cave in 1997 when they changed the name to Red Hawks. They said it was because of the complaints of local native Americans in spite of the fact that the Council of Chiefs of the Miami Tribe said in 1972:

It is our council that the name ‘Redskins’ is a revered and honored name in the eyes and hearts of the people, and that it signifies to them as to us the qualities of courage, self discipline, respect, kindness, honesty and love exemplified by generations of young athletes.

We, the Redskins of Indian Blood, and our namesake have a mutual and cherished heritage, may it be blessed as long as the winds shall blow.”

There’s a Navajo reservation in NE Arizona and the high school team is the Redskins.

    • dbschmidt July 14, 2020 / 6:11 pm

Can not post the name I thought of here but I do like the “Craven”. Still wondering why when Tim Tebow (among others) knelt down it was not supported. I know the answer but still ask.

  5. Amazona July 13, 2020 / 9:19 pm

The Deep State is not new. President Truman started the CIA and came to regret it. In a speech in December 1963, a month after the assassination of Kennedy, he said his “…more general complaint is seen in his broader lament that the CIA had become “so removed from its intended role … I never had any thought that when I set up the CIA that it would be injected into peacetime cloak and dagger operations. … It has become an operational and at times a policy-making arm of the government. (emphasis mine)

I heard this quoted in the book I have been reading and when I Googled “Truman CIA operational” I got a link that addressed Truman’s creation of the CIA and his later concerns. Near the end of the article it referred to the book I just finished:

And so, the question: Did Allen Dulles and other “cloak-and-dagger” CIA operatives have a hand in John Kennedy’s assassination and in then covering it up? In my view, the best dissection of the evidence pertaining to the murder appeared in James Douglass’s 2008 book, JFK and the Unspeakable. After updating and arraying the abundant evidence, and conducting still more interviews, Douglass concludes that the answer is Yes.

Holy shit, I knew these people were stupid but even I failed to understand the depths of human depravity that now exists in the Democrat Party. Here is Nick Cannon, some black privileged kid who made millions standing in front of camera reading words. According to Nick, the lack of melanin makes white people evil:

“Melanin comes with soul, that we call it soul, we soul brothers and sisters, that’s the melanin that connects us so the people that don’t have it, are, and I’m going to say this carefully, are a little less and where the term actually comes from, and I’m going to bring it back around to Minister Farrakhan, where they may not have the compassion,” he added.

“When they were sent to the Mountains of Caucasus, they didn’t have the power of the sun. The sun started to deteriorate them. So, they’re acting out of fear, they’re acting out of low self-esteem, they’re acting out of deficiency, so therefore the only way they can act is evil,” Cannon continued.

Black men don’t have the decency to raise their own children but they got “soul” … who the f**k are these losers? The selfie generation is a pain in the ass. Then there was this in the article:

Scholars have long debunked the pseudo-scientific claim that skin melanin levels are linked to intellectual abilities.

I really don’t think black people want to be measured on this scale lol … they would definitely come in last. And along this note … it’s widely known that Asian immigrants far exceed many other groups in scholastic achievements so that begs the question, why would a white supremacist country allow Asian immigrants to enter the country and scholastically displace their own children?? Doesn’t make sense

So awful on so many levels. One, of course, is the virulent racism. But the other is the truly outstanding stupidity. It’s incoherent gibberish, true, but when you pick through the gibberish you find a complete lack of intelligence. From the made-up words to the bizarre claims, all in all this is toxic nonsense.

I will say this—it makes me want to support a separate nation for these people. With strong borders and a rigid visa policy for visiting this one.

BTW, AFRICAN immigrants don’t sound this stupid, or act like this. They are less racist and more ambitious and do well in this country. It’s the native black people, the descendants of slaves, who were born into the opportunities of this nation, who have for some reason volunteered to sacrifice their intellects and their basic human dignity to become so much less.

    • Retired Spook July 14, 2020 / 10:07 am

I doubt there are many white people who can relate to a black person who grew up in the projects of a major metro area. The odds are so stacked against them. I can’t imagine having 4 brothers and 3 sisters, each with a different father sperm donor, being recruited by a gang at the age of 10 or 11. And then you’ve got the media which gives them role models like Al Sharpton instead of men like Thomas Sowell and women like Condoleezza Rice, whom they refer to as Uncle Tom’s and House ni**ers. Occasionally a black kid has an exceptional mother like Ben Carson did and makes it out, so I don’t think innate intelligence is the problem.

The cruel irony is that it’s Leftist Democrat policies that were “supposedly” intended to level the playing field that have resulted in the situation in which we now find ourselves. Meanwhile, you’ve got a President who has done more to create opportunity for blacks than anyone in my lifetime, and he’s assaulted non-stop, 24/7 by Democrats, members of his own party and 90% of the media.

      • Amazona July 14, 2020 / 10:44 am

What is so obvious is the Left’s determination to keep these people down. Back in 2009, I think it was, on my first trip to CPAC, a black woman spoke at a panel and she broke down in tears. She had been part of a program funding poor black children’s expenses to go to private schools, and she talked about the difference this had made in their lives. They got out of the sewer that is the DC school system, away from the influences you mention, and were able to learn and grow. What brought her to tears was Obama’s ending of this program. She spoke of the appeals made to him, and of his obdurate refusal to consider any of them.

No one is ALLOWED to make changes in this despicable plantation system, where black people are penned up, fed and housed but only minimally, trained to be obedient to the narrative and then harvested for votes. And, as we have seen, harvested for foot soldiers to create mayhem and chaos to influence an election.

      • Amazona July 14, 2020 / 10:59 am

BTW, we don’t just do this with black people. The racism that dominates policy extends to other races as well, in the names of cultural diversity, respect for other cultures, etc.

So we see policies that demand that unwanted, abandoned black babies have to be placed in black homes, not with white parents, “to preserve their cultural heritage”. Well, in the United States the cultural heritage of black people has become so contaminated and corroded it is hardly anything one would want to preserve.

I have a friend whose family, as she was growing up, took in foster children from a Native American woman who was a hard-core alcoholic. She would deliver a fetal alcohol syndrome baby and my friend’s family would take it in, just to have this repeated in a year or so. The family wanted to adopt these children, but were not allowed to, because of the rules stating that white people could not adopt Indian children. So the children remained emotionally adrift, loved and cared for but not officially or legally part of the family, while the woman was allowed to continue breeding and producing damaged children because that was her “right”. The children, without any legal status, eventually drifted back to the reservation where they became part of the pattern of hopelessness and drugs and alcohol. One of these children is still considered a member of the family, which writes him letters and visits him and sends him money as he serves a prison term for murder, a murder committed while he was drunk. These children were physically damaged by fetal alcohol syndrome but could have been brought into a loving and intact family and given emotional stability, but the system would not allow it.

But at least that was a passively damaging policy, one of simply not allowing a shift in culture. The approach to the black population is much more sinister and calculated, an active suppression of any effort to get out of that system. White is evil. Speaking properly is “acting white”. Getting good grades in school is “acting white”. Wanting to get a job and be self sufficient is “acting white”. It is a truly vicious and inhumane system, and the Farrakans and Sharptons and yes, even Obama, are part of it.

One thing my Mother and Grandmother had us kids do after school was to read. Growing up in the 60’s in a not so great area on the backside of a bowling alley I did not realize my first friend was a POC because we just never thought of things like that.

One of the many things I learned is if you research the blacks from the 40’s forward it was government (Democrats) that have hindered them the most. Their product was better at a lower cost so the government introduced restrictions, regulations and finally laws to hold them back until the “death spiral” began promising everything (War on Poverty and the rest of LBJ’s BS).

I’ve had discussion with friends and family members who are tired of the 2-party system, believing they are too powerful and need to be dismantled into smaller segments. Their general distaste for the current system is given as the reason they do not vote. Little do they know, if the democrats were to gain the Presidency and both houses of congress, we would almost certainly become a 1-party system in the foreseeable future. The democrats would immediately take numerous steps to ensure things like the 2016 election never happens again.

(Note – some of these items listed below were taken from a recent article I read. I just added more items as I saw as likely to unfold.)

1.) They would give immediate citizenship status to the 11-25 million illegal immigrants currently residing in the US now (we can’t say for sure how many there really are as most any means used to asses this such as a question on the US census, are shut down by the left). Under this scenario it is likely these new citizens would overwhelmingly vote democrat for some time to come.

2.) Then they would make Washington DC its own state. Given how far to the left DC trends this would place 2 more democrat senators and several legislators in congress.

3.) Then they would dismantle the filibuster, further removing the party out of control any voice in the direction of laws or legislation.

4.) Then they would change the structure of the US Supreme Court adding at least 4 more seats and filling those seats with judges with far-left ideologies, cementing their rulings for generations.

5.) Then they will continue where they left off from the previous administration, using different government and various non-government organizations to discredit and shut down all opposition.

6.) They would then proceed at full speed, dismantling the 1st and 2nd amendment of the US constitution, heavily restricting free speech and leaving their constituents unable to protect themselves against tyranny or a means to fight back.

We really are that close to losing our country, that only a few hundred years ago, many brave men and women gave up their lives to establish a free society.
Anyone who believes their vote doesn’t count, especially at the local and state level, or is unhappy with the current political structures but refuses to work in changing it, will be stuck with whatever unfolds and no one to blame but their own inactions.

    • Amazona July 14, 2020 / 2:42 pm

This takes me back to my ongoing complaint about Identity Politics, which in today;s political climate means parties.

If we were to make our decisions not on party identity but on an analysis of what we think is the best blueprint for governing the country, and vote for the people most likely to implement that blueprint, the name of the party would be far less important. If we were to make our decisions that way we would still be stuck with having to vote for the PARTY most likely to implement those decisions, but we would be in a far better position to pressure that party to do so.

So….I make an ideological decision—that I think the nation should be governed according to its Constitution, with a federal government severely restricted as to size, scope and power, with most authority left to the states. This is about keeping government as close as possible to the people themselves and having authority move from the bottom up. Then I look to see which of the two parties is more likely to govern that way, and I have to vote Republican. We know the party strays from this ideology, but if this was the framework for choosing the party (as it is increasingly becoming) then we have more ability to shape the party.

I look at the Left, which is a governmental model based on a massively powerful Central Authority, with very little authority left to the states or to the people, a top-down model in which the scope of the federal government expands to include efforts to address and deal with every problem and issue facing the citizens, at the federal level. This describes the Democrat Party, which represents the Left in this country. It is about consolidation of power at the top, in the hands of a few elites.

When you look at the ideological structures of each party instead of at the individuals within that party or, God forbid, its ISSUES then you get tangled up in all sorts of emotional reactions and confusions. But basically, when leaving ISSUES out of the equation at the federal level, what we are voting on is not issues but on where and how those issues are resolved—at the federal level or at the state level.

“Smaller segments” would be almost if not entirely issue-driven, when the real decision is not any particular issue but where it is addressed, and under what scope of authority.

      • Retired Spook July 14, 2020 / 5:22 pm

If your overall point is that most people don’t base their votes on who will restrict the size, scope and power of the federal government, then we are in absolute agreement.

I think we’re probably all in agreement on that, which begs the question, what kind of country do we end up with if that’s the case? I would submit that it will eventually be the kind of country that even you won’t want to live in.

Let’s do Sweden which you folks seem to love. Okay, Health care is provided but for some reason folks (that can afford it) still come to the US for serious health issues. Lets talk taxes because their is is a quasi capitalist / socialist system If you make the equivalent of $50,000 US today–you are taxed at the top rate of 60%. percent of what you earn…you know -when you leave the bunker and do something to produce anything. Oh, I have 40% left that will be consumed by the VAT tax on all goods and services of 25%. So, if you think that government is smarter and a better spender of your money than you–sign up.

        I’d offer three options for all the bunkers’ out there;
1: No police — get on the Mexico bus.
        2. Socialism. Get on the Venezuelan bus.
        3. Government is best. Fly you to Switzerland but there you would actually have to produce something of value to remain.

      • Amazona July 14, 2020 / 7:46 pm

When the Left touts Sweden as an example of a successful socialist state, they are merely flaunting their ignorance. Sweden was a very successful nation because of its small government and capitalist economic system. It then flirted with a socialist approach to wealth distribution, with large-scale redistribution and high taxes to pay for various social engineering and welfare schemes. The result? Sweden plunged from being the 4th richest country to the 14th richest.

“Free markets and small government made Sweden rich,” said Swedish economist and Cato Institute fellow Johan Norberg. “The experiment with socialism crashed us.”

As for Sweden’s handling of the corona virus, it’s evidently not a success story. Sweden’s Covid-19 deaths per capita are 3 to 6 times its Nordic neighbors. In discussing the comparison of the infection and death rate in Sweden vs Denmark, one commentor pointed out: in Sweden you can see in x months what in Denmark will happen in X+some number, the difference depends on the slow-down efficiency of the lockdown. The point is, no country can eliminate (ERADICATE !!??) the virus, and slowing its spread will only drag out the inevitable.

(This seems to be a good time to point out that when Trump talked about reopening the country to more normal activity the howl was that HOSPITALS WILL BE OVERWHELMED, THE REASON TO SLOW THE SPREAD IS TO SPREAD OUT THE DEMAND ON HOSPITALS !!! [Yes, I know all-caps is annoying and the text equivalent of yelling. That is why I use them when quoting hysterics.] Now, though, we aren’t hearing that any more. A very few hospitals got slammed but never more than they could handle, sane voices prevailed to point out that ICU are not empty till Covid patients come in but are always busy and Covid cases were at the most accounting for about 20% of ICU patients. So that theme has been nearly abandoned. I think BB’s squalling has made it pretty clear that the word “leadership” got some good focus group response and so became the go-to theme for the screeching mobs and trolls. There was evidently also a decision to harp incessantly on the virus, to try to keep the panic momentum up, as when it stalls and starts to head downhill the Left will lose whatever it has gained with its pandemic porn. KEEP THOSE PEOPLE SCARED AND BLAME TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP!)

A country in which the leadership of the federal government is actually competent?

        — snip —

Why do you think the Democrats chose Joe Biden?

Too bad I can’t post a personal video here — it would be of me laughing hysterically, rolling on the floor, tears streaming down my face. YCMTSU!!

Is Biden still running for the Senate?

Why do you think the Democrats chose Joe Biden?

A question more and more will be asking in the next two and a half months. Though it’s obvious that even Joe is better than the alternative. Bobby Frank O’Rourke? The Looper? “Get off my lawn!” Sanders? Super Cop With A Mattress On Her Back Harris? Liawatha? It takes quite a lineup to make Joe look good by comparison. Or at least tolerable.

Go ahead and laugh. I hope you also laugh if it comes to pass that Joe Biden defeats Donald Trump and the Democrats take both the House and the Senate.

The point is, the Democrats rejected the more radical candidates of their party in favor of the most vanilla one. There is a reason for that.

By the way, I see that Amazona is deleting my comments again. You read (and responded to) my comments. You and I both know that there was nothing out of line about them and we were having a reasonable conversation. And she knows it, too.

      • Amazona July 16, 2020 / 2:12 pm

What is this constant whine about me deleting you? Where did you get the idea that I can do this? Isn’t this just another of your delusional fantasies? (Part of a BB fantasy—eeeuuuwww!)

And no, nowhere except in the bunker was your obdurate refusal to address what I said, instead just repeating your obnoxious mantra over and over again, a “reasonable conversation”. You were not even pretending to engage in a discussion any more, returning to your default position of just using this blog as a litter box for your mental excrement..

The reason you think Biden is “the more vanilla candidate” is, unless you are talking about his complexion, only because that is what the words say. In fact he is a blank slate, waiting to be written upon by whoever is controlling him at any given moment. He used to whore himself out for power—now there is that, but also for the illusion of competence provided by his protectors. What is being written for him now is wildly radical.

An observation: Have any of you noticed how the Left’s narrative has gone back to using the term “health care” as a substitute for “insurance”?

It’s part of their verbal shell game but it sucks in the gullible. The debate is not and never has been whether people can get health care, but how to pay for it. The Big Government Central Authority Lifetime Dependency Left says it is the responsibility of the federal government to pay for health care no matter what the Constitution says. The Constitutional Conservative says sure, if the people want to vote for their government to pay for their health care they have every right and ability to do that—they just have to do it at the state level, because that kind of thing is not part of the enumerated duties of the federal government and is, therefore, not allowed to the federal government.

But in the Left’s semantic shell game not having the federal government pay for insurance is really just denying health care itself to people.

The Constitution is an amazingly libertarian form of government, allowing citizens to vote to do almost anything, with very very few restrictions. The only caveat is that, because the purpose of the federal government is so narrowly defined, most things the people want the government to do for them have to be done at the state or local level. Maybe even through a school board or an HOA. And that includes finding a way to pay for health insurance if they don’t vote for a system that encourages both individual prosperity and competition in the insurance market, bringing prices down.

    NOT “health CARE”. Health insurance.

    • Amazona July 15, 2020 / 8:52 am

Addendum: Some in the Dependent Forever camp want to eliminate insurance companies altogether and just have the government pay the doctors and hospitals directly. This, of course, leads to the same rationing of care, time and money experienced by those nations that have tried this—the U.K. and Canada as examples.

And what better way to control people than to control their access to healthcare. And not just the recipients of healthcare but the providers as well.

The president of New St. Andrews College, a small Christian college in Moscow, ID, is being interviewed by Glenn Beck as I type this. Dovetailing with our discussion of what constitutes the Deep State the other day, he maintained that the most important element of the Deep State is our education system, particularly higher education. It’s where the elitist, “I’m right, and anyone who disagrees with me is wrong” attitude that dominates the bureaucracy in both business and government is being taught and nurtured. I can’t disagree. In fact, the most terrifying aspect of America going forward is that at least two, maybe three generations of young people have been indoctrinated with false information. There will always be people who question authority and/or have gone to private schools or been home schooled, but they’ll be in the vast minority. The yearning for liberty that has been an integral component of the American spirit for nearly two and a half centuries is going to have some rough sledding in the foreseeable future.

Kurt Schlichter’s 4 novels about the break up of the United States into Red and blue areas, reference the indoctrination in the Blue areas extensively, as people who defect or are rescued are shocked that what they’d been “taught” to believe is so WRONG.

I read today that many testing centers in FL reported ZERO negative cases. These numbers are not to be believed. All of the numbers. From any source. This is the biggest over reaction to a non event in our nations history. That being said I personally know a gal in the hospital right now. Nice gal but she was over weight with really bad asthma yet that didn’t stop her from frequenting the casinos and alas … she’s sick. This virus is rough and if you have underlying conditions, you will want to avoid it all costs. But that agin being said, it is not a pandemic and nothing that healthy people under 45 need to be too concerned with.

I read that the death toll for kids 0-18 in California is ZERO. Not a single death, YET all schools in CA are now closed. Someone needs to explain that to me.
