Regarding One-Trick Ponies.

Minnesota, like many other states, is about to become a “Right To Work” state, and it is the unions themselves that are unwittingly helping it to happen.

The unions and the democrat party have long had a nearly exclusive, symbiotic relationship. As long as the democrats remained in power, the unions were protected by the democrats; and in turn, the unions were free to act in a blatantly partisan fashion and be an unrepentant, militant arm of the democratic party.

Because of this relationship, the unions never had to worry about public relations. They could afford to be as-in-your-face-nasty-as-they-damned-well-wanted-to-be. Conservative rank-and-file members were summarily ignored. They didn’t care what the average non-union person thought. They didn’t care about winning the hearts and minds of the average American voter. They were quite comfortable in their roles as the enforcement/thug/footsoldier arm of the democratic party. But now that the democrats are largely out of power in Minnesota, as well as in a host of other state legislatures, the unions are suddenly finding themselves in the precarious position of being the toady left on a street corner whose protector has suddenly left the scene.

Now, given that “Right To Work” will no doubt make it on the ballot this November as a Constitutional amendment in Minnesota (and other states) , one would think that the unions’ very survival would depend on improving their public image. One would think that the unions would be running a full court press on public relations, running ads 24/7 extolling their virtues, and the services that their members provide to the public.

But instead, the public unions, including the teacher’s unions (of which I’m a member) have doubled-down on their self-serving, narcissistic thuggery. They haven’t yet awakened to the fact that with Right to Work going to the ballot this fall, it will no longer be the legislators (whom they used to have in their hip pocket) that they’ll have to convince. They’ll have to convince the very voters of Minnesota why they should remain a viable, omnipotent, political force.

Ergo, when the union leadership organize angry demonstrations like so many 60s hippie throwbacks or cadres of Bolsheviks running roughshod in near-riotous mobs, they’re not doing themselves any favors. At the same time, they just don’t seem to have a clue as to just how precarious their position is, or how to fix it.

Up to this point, Minnesota’s teacher and other unions, having had the luxury of being able to act like spoiled teenagers; largely without consequence, have been virtual one-trick ponies in terms of defaulting to in-your-face, thuggish tactics to get demands met.

But as Minnesota native Bob Dylan once crooned, “Oh the times, they are a changing.”

If Minnesota’s unions want to survive, they better damn well change with them.

Democrats Actually Believe Americans Like Obamacare

Direct from their Flat Earth Society meeting, congressional Democrats are claiming that the more Americans learn about Obamacare, the more they like it.

Of course, that completely contradicts virtually all polling on the matter, but since when has reality mattered much to the Democrats?

But, hey, let them believe what they want. If they want to go down with the ship, I won’t stop them.

obAMATEUR Continues His LIE – He Is Responsible For Increased Drilling

obAMATEUR stepped up his rhetoric on oil production and gas prices. Rightly or wrongly, the American people are blaming Obama for the cost of their latest fill-up. So obAMATEUR’s solution? Mislead the American people and pepper them with over-the-top rhetoric. For example, yesterday he tried to emphasize his (non-existent) drilling record: “So do not tell me that we’re not drilling. We’re drilling all over this country. There are a few spots we’re not drilling. We’re not drilling in the national mall. We’re not drilling at your house.”

Clever. But unfortunately those are not the FACTS. Just last weekend, Obama addressed the nation and stated that “[u]nder my Administration, oil production in America is at an eight-year high. We’ve quadrupled the number of operating oil rigs, and opened up millions of acres for drilling.”

Once again, let’s dispel these myths. (Myths, hell. They’re LIES.)

Oil production is at an eight-year high?

The US Energy Information Administration has finally put this one to bed. After looking at data from 2003 to 2011, production on federal lands under obAMATEUR was lower than all but one year of the Bush administration, and it hit rock-bottom in 2011. In fact, production alone dropped by 6% from 2010-2011 to its lowest level in nine years.

We’ve quadrupled the number of oil rigs?

I guess it is easy to claim that you’ve increased something, when you literally put a halt to it early in your administration. In 2010, after the BP oil spill, take a look at this gimmick pulled by the obAMATEUR administration … from the Institute of Energy Research, “The obAMATEUR administration would like you to think that major strides have been taken to increase drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. But, that is hardly the case. The administration has been touting the four drilling permits it has issued, but in reality, but these are not new permits—they have only reissued four permits that it suspended last year.” Also remember that the obAMATEUR administration held just one offshore lease sale in all of fiscal year 2011. President Bush’s energy plan called for five.

We’ve opened up millions of acres for drilling …

Under “the one we have been waiting for”, the federal government has leased less than half of the offshore acres that President Clinton did. In 2010 the federal government issued the lowest number of onshore leases since 1984. Our Dear Ruler is also blocking access to 19 billion barrels of oil in the Pacific and Atlantic coasts and the eastern Gulf of Mexico, another 10 billion barrels estimated in the Chukchi Sea off the Alaskan coast, and another 10 billion barrels of oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve.

You are being LIED to and you drones just suck it up like ambrosia.

While Bush was President, the Democrats (and their willing propagandists in the media) never failed to bludgeon him with the full blame for rising gas prices. Pelosi (and her mindless regurgitating drones) maintained that it was the “Two Oil Men in the White House”. Now that they are in charge and their “man” is in the White House the LIES and the EXCUSES fly – “the President has no direct control of the oil/gasoline market”. But as I said, Bush was totally responsible, while their “leader”, who has no tangible and realistic energy policy, is completely blameless. The libs favorite talking point is that it will be a decade before drilling can have an impact and in the same breath, their “green and renewable” energy is a viable solution all of which is more than a decade away from fruition.

Again, you are being LIED to drones, why to you regurgitate the dumbed down talking points? In your case, ignorance is definitely BLISS.

Thou Shalt Not Have Strange gods…

Eleven million taxpayer-funded dollars. Supposedly to help 400 people in Detroit find jobs. Even if every one of those 4o0 people found a job, that would be $27,500 in taxpayer money spent, per job. Ludicrous enough, no?

Well, what if only TWO (2) of those 400 people found jobs?

A chunk of an $11 million stimulus grant meant to provide low-income Detroit residents with clothing for job interviews reportedly aided just two people — far short of the 400 job-seekers the money was meant to help.

The findings were part of a new audit on the city’s Department of Human Services, according to The Detroit News.

That, my friends, comes to a cost of $5.5 MILLION dollars. Per job. Nice return on investment there, Barry.

Fast forward to yesterday (emphases added):

In the wake of lobbying by President Obama and Senate Democratic leaders, the Senate Thursday defeated legislation to speed up construction of a U-S.-Canadian oil pipeline.The White House victory came after the president started personally calling Democratic senators Wednesday night. The vote underscored the extent to which rising gas prices and energy supply have become a central political issue.

So, to Barack Obama, a stimulus program that costs taxpayers hundreds of millions, and which is a failure by any clear-thinking person’s standards is hailed as a success; while killing a program that creates at least 25,000 jobs, all without a dime of taxpayer money, is somehow considered a ‘victory.’

To Barack Hussein Obama, nothing can be successful; nothing can be true and real unless it is a direct machination of government. No matter how big the failure a government program is, it is still a success, because to a statist like Obama, nothing is possible, nothing is real unless it has its underpinnings in government.

To Obama, Government is reality. The government is the source of all that is good and just in the world. The private sector is what is contrived. To Obama, the private sector is an anomaly; an abomination that must be controlled so as not to infringe upon the government’s influence in people’s lives. The god of Government is a jealous god. Thou shalt not have strange Gods before it. Even religion itself takes a back seat to Obama’s real religion.

More than half of Obama’s 47 biggest fundraisers, those who collected at least $500,000 for his campaign, have been given administration jobs. Nine more have been appointed to presidential boards and committees.

At least 24 Obama bundlers were given posts as foreign ambassadors, including in Finland, Australia, Portugal and Luxembourg. Among them is Don Beyer, a former Virginia lieutenant governor who serves as ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

….

Obama has appointed 59 ambassadors who were not career Foreign Service officers, and of those, 40 percent were bundlers.

On Dalliances With The Devil…

It seems that the White House is now dictating what Catholic Doctrine really means…and Cardinal Dolan isn’t liking it:

The White House seems to think we bishops simply do not know or understand Catholic teaching and so, taking a cue from its own definition of religious freedom, now has nominated its own handpicked official Catholic teachers.

Welcome to the almighty church of Obama… Mr. Hussein, presiding.

They told the Church what to do in Maoist China… Communist Russia, Cuba… and even killed those who wouldn’t comply and staffed churches with their ‘state approved’ clergy. Obama is a Marxist. That’s what he does. What kills me is that the liberal Catholic priests and bishops actually SUPPORTED Obama, being the useful idiots that they are, even though it was widely known that Obama would be the most pro-abortion president–ever, and that he voted THREE TIMES AGAINST the born-alive protection act. But they thought their dalliance with the devil would be worth it if they could attain their unattainable ‘social justice’ nirvana fix here on earth. The same folks who brought you “liberation theology” are the same folks who have run our seminaries for too long now; the same element of folks who tolerated pedophiles in the priesthood; the same folks who not only turned a blind-eye to Marxism but encouraged it.

Even given the above, the Catholic church acts surprised–shocked–I say– when the openly Marxist President Obama starts telling them how to run things. This is a direct result of the Catholic Church worrying too much about establishing a non-attainable ‘heaven on earth’ via ‘social justice;’ via their support of Obamacare and other neo-socialist endeavors, and not enough about what was and should continue to be their true mission– the salvation of and preparation of souls for eternal life with Christ in Heaven.

I have had contact with some ‘priests’ who during the 2008 elections knew of Obama’s pro-infanticide predilections, but chose to support him anyway because of the ‘greater good’ that would supposedly result from his proposed social programs.

It was regrettably the ‘useful-idiot’ Catholic vote that helped Barack Hussein Obama first achieve presidential power.

As a Catholic, it will be a sad day, indeed, should the Catholic vote allow Obama a second term. It will not be a day that I left the Catholic church; rather, it will be a day that the Catholic Church left me.

Let’s see, for example …. just recently Barak Hussein Obama ignored the religious freedom and “practice thereof” (1st Amendment for you products of government schools) of millions of Americans by FORCING them to disregard their religious beliefs, through the actions of the Dept of HHS regulations by not extending an exemption, and to provide insurance which covers contraceptive medications and other procedures by Catholic business owners, Catholic hospitals, etc. etc.

Also notice that it does not take effect until after the election, since he is too much of a coward to defend his position during an election year.

If you will recall, the obAMATEUR promised in 2009 that he would “cut the deficit we inherited by half by the end of my first term in office.”

How has he lived up to that promise?

Not only has he broken that promise, but he has crushed it. For the first three years of the obAMATEUR’s presidency, he increased our deficit by over $1 trillion every year: $1.4 trillion in 2009, $1.3 trillion in 2010 and $1.3 trillion in 2011. The CBO has recently crunched some numbers and it looks like the obAMATEUR is on track to have another banner year of $1 trillion+ deficits. The CBO predicts that the deficit will rise $1.08 trillion in 2012.

To put all of this into perspective, the largest deficit that our country had ever run before 2008 was $458 billion (and the liberal looters and their obedient drones whined about “saddling our children and grand-children with debt” and obAMATEUR called this “UNPATRIOTIC!”). Thus, even though obAMATEUR’s deficit for 2012 is projected to be the lowest of his administration, don’t be fooled. It will be, by far, the largest deficit ever recorded between 1947 and 2008.

What’s the result of this big-government spending? The CBO estimates that the jobless rate will rise to 8.9% by the end of 2012 and to 9.3% in 2013.

Now the leftist mindless drones will, of course, chime in with “it’s Bush’s fault” and the “he inherited the economy” dumbed down talking points. But this pResident raised baseline budgeting by almost 25% in his first two years. This increase had nothing to do with the stimulus, the “venture capitalist” failed spending or his other schemes like “cash for clunkers”, etc. etc. The baseline spending increases had nothing to do with Bush or the “economy he inherited”. He is a tax and spend liberal! – plain and simple. Now before you drones get your panties in a wad about the tax part of the previous statement. This pResident has increased taxes on every income group in this country (alcohol and tobacco taxes, taxes to finance his health-care plan, etc. etc.). Plus, the CBO says taxes are going to go up as a result of this pResident’s policies. And he is a “spend-thrift” liberal, he has outspent and accumulated more debt than all Presidents from Washington thru Clinton COMBINED.

By his own words, the obAMATEUR is the most UNPATRIOTIC pResident in history!!!

Obama Kills Keystone, Offers Lame Excuse and Touts Unemployment As the Best Job Creator

The obAMATEUR is at it again. The least ObAMATEUR and his administration could do is be straight with the American people. When it comes to the decision to kill the Keystone pipeline, it had nothing to do with the reasons they cited and everything to do with Barack Obama’s reelection campaign. Why can’t he just say that the radical environmentalist vote is more important than 20,000 American jobs and a path toward energy independence?

Instead, what does ObAMATEUR do? He has the gall to kill the pipeline and then blame the Republicans!

Obama says that the reason he had to kill the pipeline is because the Republicans imposed an “arbitrary” deadline for him to make a decision. Here was Obama’s statement …

“This announcement is not a judgment on the merits of the pipeline, but the arbitrary nature of a deadline that prevented the State Department from gathering the information necessary to approve the project and protect the American people. I’m disappointed that Republicans in Congress forced this decision.”

Gathering the necessary information to approve the project? The State Department has been reviewing this Keystone pipeline since 2008! I’m told that even by federal standards, four years is a long time for a project like this to be in limbo. As one Senator pointed out, “The Obama administration complains about a 60-day deadline, but in reality it has now had 1,217 days to make a decision.”

So that puts this asinine “arbitrary deadline” argument to bed. Now on to the next one … its environmental impact. Chief dog washer Jay Carney wants you to believe that if the pipeline were built, it could affect “the air that our children breathe” and the water they drink. Seriously!

Jay Carney: [It] would severely hamper their ability to review an alternate route and a new pipeline route in the proper way, a way that has long been established by precedent and that would take into consideration all the criteria that are so important in decisions like this. Economic impact, national security impact, environmental impact, the effect on the water that our children breathe — rather, the water our children drink and the air that they breathe.

This is what you would call a bunch of politi-scare horsesqueeze. TransCanada, the company looking to build the pipeline, has spent a full three years and $1.9 billion studying the environmental impact of this project. The State Department itself has already done an entire Environmental Impact Statement. Why they need another one is beyond me.

At one point, environmentalists complained that the pipeline would threaten the Ogallala Aquifer. Researchers at the Conservation and Survey Division of the University of Nebraska have been studying this one stinking aquifer for 40 years. Even they determined that “the pipeline would pose a minimal risk to the Ogallala aquifer.” But the environmentalists bitched and moaned and so the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality came up with a new route for the pipeline. But that didn’t matter. These environmentalists didn’t really care about the Ogallala Aquifer, they just cared about killing the pipeline altogether. So they continued to push.

Meanwhile, Obama’s own jobs council on Tuesday said that the administration needs an “all-in approach” to energy policy, including oil and gas drilling and projects like the Keystone pipeline. The President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness writes, “[W]e should allow more access to oil, natural gas and coal opportunities on federal lands.”

Instead, ObAMATEUR is insistent that jobless benefits and temporary payroll tax cuts will do more for jobs in this nation than actual jobs. Back in December while battling over the extension of the payroll tax cut, ObAMATEUR said: “However many jobs might be generated by a Keystone pipeline,” he said, “they’re going to be a lot fewer than the jobs that are created by extending the payroll tax cut and extending unemployment insurance.” The point, ObAMATEUR, is that you would rather have people on the government dole (keep the poor, poor) than allow them to work for a paycheck. This ensures growing the dependent class and creating and keeping more Democrat voters in November.

Another lie perpetuated by the obAMATEUR and his fellow Democrat minions and looters is that the 1700 mile pipeline will in all likelihood not create the 22,000 jobs projected. But, in another project in San Francisco they tout a 1.7 mile extension of the subway to create 43,000 jobs (is that with the additional unemployment benefits?). The lies from the left keep growing and growing.

With much fanfare early in his administration, this “leader” appointed a jobs council. This panel recommended that the rookie Executive support “policies that facilitate the safe, thoughtful and timely development of pipeline, transmission and distribution projects.” Further, the jobs council said that failure to promote these facilities would “stall the engine that could become a prime driver of U.S. jobs and growth in the decades ahead.”

The result is that obAMATEUR ignored his much touted panel because it encouraged oil exploration and tax cuts (gasp!). Now the drones will regurgitate the talking point that oil production is up since 2003. Yesterday Press Secretary Jay Carney said this: “The fact of the matter is, on oil and gas production, we have higher oil production in this country in 2010 than we’ve had since 2003.” When he made his announcement yesterday Obama said that under his administration “domestic oil and natural gas production is up.”

I heard the same thing from Juan Williams on Fox … repeating the “domestic oil production is up” line.

So … what’s the truth? First, let’s differentiate between private and public lands. ObAMATEUR has a great deal of control over the exploration for and recovery of oil from public – government – lands. When it comes to privately held property his degree of control (thank God) is somewhat less. Now … KNOW THIS. Listen up, because you won’t hear this from Juan Williams or the mainstream media. Gas and oil production from federal lands is down by 40% over the last ten years. The vast majority of increases in gas and oil production is taking place on private property … with North Dakota leading the way. Also … obAMATEUR has issued the LOWEST number of offshore oil leases since 1984. To top things off obAMATEUR just issued a 20-year ban on uranium mining on 1,000,000 acres of federal land in Arizona.

Get the picture? It’s the private sector on private lands that is responsible for any increase in oil and gas production. The obAMATEUR is working hard to move in the other direction.

Ditzy Debbie – The Gift That Keeps on Giving

Debbie Wasserman Shultz might be the best thing that Republicans have going for them right now. The more that this brainless twit flaps her gums, the more inane her comments seem to become. Hopefully her baseless hysteric ignorance will be a turnoff to the voters of this nation.

In some ways I feel for her … she does have a rather difficult job: defending the obAMATEUR and his failed policies. You need to know that many, if not most, Democrats don’t much like Obama either; but he’s theirs and they have to live with the ugly person they brought to the dance. But on the other hand, you get the feeling that this woman truly believes the things that she is saying. If so, she is one of the most ignorant people in public service in this country. But .. that goes hand-in-hand with being a Democrat. Remember that being called a “democrat” used to be an insult. It meant one who panders to the mindless whims of the masses. Ditzy Debbie is most assuredly a democrat. I guess that’s OK, though, if you believe that to be your road to power.

Just when you thought she had hit some sort of ignoranus peak, she comes out with this unbelievably partisan quote:

“We need to make sure that we tone things down, particularly in light of the Tucson tragedy from a year ago, where my very good friend, Gabby Giffords — who is doing really well, by the way, — [was shot]. The discourse in America, the discourse in Congress in particular . . . has really changed, I’ll tell you. I hesitate to place blame, but I have noticed it take a very precipitous turn towards edginess and lack of civility with the growth of the Tea Party movement.”

Yes! Those Tea Partiers are out of control with their riot like actions, squatting on public land, crapping on police cars, etc. etc. OH WAIT! Those are the actions of her and her party’s beloved Occupy Anywhere for Anything lunatics. You know the Occupy groups that her pResident and her party had orgasms over and try to paint them as a mainstream movement. Their uncivil behavior was beyond contempt but her regurgitation of dumbed down talking points against the Tea Party fits to the pandering to the ignorant masses, the drones. Occutards left their occupied sites full of trash .. and sometimes dead bodies. Tea Partiers always cleaned up. And I’m still waiting to see the a picture of a Tea Partier taking a crap on a police car. Edginess? Lack of Civility? That’s the occupiers, not the Tea Partiers.

That wasn’t all she had to say. She goes on to say, “when [the tea party] disagree with you on an issue, you’re not just wrong, you’re a liar.” Now I don’t use the word “liar” lightly. Someone is lying only if they know what they are saying is untrue at the time they say it. I’ve highlighted, the many occasions, her inaccurate statements about Barack Obama’s economy. Does she know that she is full of donkeysqueeze at the time she is spouting off or is she just ignorant?

As if that previous quote from Ditzy Debbie wasn’t enough, now she has something to say about our tax code. You’ll appreciate this.

“There is nothing wrong with doing well. It’s a goal we all inspire to. And we want everybody in America to do well. But we shouldn’t have our tax policy exclusively focused on helping people already doing well do better. In America we should target our tax policy towards people who want to be lifted up.”

First of all, half of Americans don’t even pay income taxes! For those who do, but find themselves at the bottom of the scale, it is not the job of the tax code to “lift people up.” Not to mention the fact that the earned income tax credit has become one of the federal government’s largest programs for lower-income taxpayers. Consider the following:

The EITC has grown in cost from $4.4 billion in 1990, to $26.1 billion in 2000, and to an estimated $44.9 billion in 2011.
The CTC was enacted in 1997, and then its cost rose from $0.8 billion in 2000 to an estimated $22.9 billion in 2011.

If anything, Debbie Wasserman Shultz should be outrage by the $4.2 billion in refundable tax credits given to illegal aliens just last year alone! Meanwhile, those who are doing well are carrying more of the burden than ever. The figure fluctuates between 37 and 40% — that is the percentage of income taxes paid by the top 1% of taxpayers. Meanwhile, they are earning around 20% of the income.

There is no doubt that our tax code is riddled with loopholes; clearly you know my opinion of our tax code. But to claim that our tax code “exclusively” helps those who are doing better and needs to target people to “lift them up” is such a misguided view of things. This is a prime example of how politicians view our tax code as another means of legislation and a way to buy votes. Is it any wonder why they will fight so vigorously to defend it when challenged with ideas like the FairTax or the 999 Plan?
