Obama, Zimmerman and Being Despicable

I hadn’t been commenting much over the past week as I was up in the Reno area visiting with family – but I did catch Obama’s comments on the Zimmerman case and they finally sank Obama down to “despicable” in my view.

Think about this – logic and facts are all on Zimmerman’s side.  Polling shows a strong plurality of the American people believe the verdict was correct.  In the case, before a female judge, an all-woman jury determined that a Latino was innocent in the death of a black man – and yet for our liberals, this case is proof of white racism (and if you dig down deeper in liberal rhetoric, its about straight, white male racism, etc).  There are already people calling for violence.  Efforts are being made by the Justice Department to railroad Zimmerman on a civil rights charge.  And here comes our President – to calm the fires?  To appeal to reason?  To stoutly and without equivocation defend the jury verdict, upon which all our liberties actually depend?  No.  He comes along to put himself back on center stage and by claiming that he thinks Travyon is Obama 35 years ago, to fan the flames of race hatred.

I don’t know what really motivates Obama – and I don’t care.  He’s a despicable person in his ACTIONS (please note, I am not judging his soul, just what he says and does).  He is ruining this nation – he’s a political thug.  He’s a corrupt wheeler-dealer.  He’s an utter fool in foreign and defense affairs.  The only thing we can do is just endure this until January 20, 2017 and then attempt to undo as much of Obama as we can.

Watergate II

The lawless regime of Barack Obama is becoming well documented. First we had the invocation of executive privilege with Fast & Furious when congressional inquiry got a little to close to the truth. We have the refusal to even question the eyewitness’s at Benghazi, or even conduct on honest review of the sequence of events. We have the attempt to blame underlings in the IRS Cincinnati office for the unethical, and possibly illegal targeting of conservative groups. We then have the unilateral decision of the President to delay law in regards to Obamacare, which is completely unconstitutional, and now we have this:

The offices of a Dallas law firm representing a high-profile State Department whistleblower were broken into last weekend. Burglars stole three computers and broke into the firm’s file cabinets. But silver bars, video equipment and other valuables were left untouched, according to local Fox affiliate KDFW, which aired security camera footage of the suspected burglars entering and leaving the offices around the time of the incident.

I can not recall a time in my life where an administration has been more brazen, more polarizing, and more incompetent. Richard Nixon didn’t even come close to the contempt and disregard for law that this current occupant of the White House has.  Our country has never been as morally and financially bankrupt as it is today, and 90% of the blame can be laid directly at the feet of Barack Hussein Obama. If this break in can be traced back to the White House, impeachment will follow. That is a given.

The Rise and Fall of Barack Obama

It’s been an interesting six months for The One We Have All Been Waiting For. Shortly into his still-hard-to-believe second term, it seems that the disenchantment is growing rapidly due to a continued struggling economy, high unemployment with no real concerted effort to do anything about it, his feckless foreign policy, and of course the scandals, which seemingly grow by the day. A new CNN poll shows just 45% approval, down 8 points from just a few months ago, and fueled by a 17 point drop in those folks 30 years old and younger. It seems as though the younger generations “hope and change” has been met with the reality of progressive policies, which only bring about bigger government and less opportunity. It’s not as though we didn’t have history to look back on, or that they were warned that this would be the eventual result, so it’s hard to be sympathetic.

Yesterday, Mr. Obama spoke to a considerably smaller crowd then the one that met him in 2008, and gave a yawn of a speech. Or as Nile Gardiner from the The Telegraph so aptly put it – “a weak and underwhelming address from a floundering President”. Obama’s speech contained meaningless platitudes that have been uttered so many times, by so many empty leaders that they resonate with no one. Sadly we have three and half more years of listening to his empty speeches and living with his harmful policies, but have no fear, the white guilt that drove the Democrats to nominate Obama in 2008, has now morphed into gender guilt, as the Democrats and the progressive media are quickly falling in line behind Hillary in hopes of keeping their oligarchy alive. It’s actually kind of a slap in the face to Democrats around the country isn’t it? No one within that party stands a chance at the nomination if Hillary decides to run. She has been pre ordained because of her gender, her lineage, and the fact that she was tossed aside in 2008 in favor of someone who represented a more appealing minority.

The Democratic Party has devolved into a paranoid oligarchial cult followed by a sycophantic media and a mindless constituency afraid to death of right wing strawmen. It’s actually comical when you think about it. But what’s not funny is their authoritarian tactics, particularly the monitoring of Sheryl Attkinson’s personal and professional computers, the domestic monitoring of emails and phone calls, and the level of scrutiny directed towards conservative political groups. Fasten your seat belt folks, it’s going to be a bumpy few years.

A False Recovery

Lately, our liberals have been pumped over the stock market rising to record highs – to them (you know, the people who were occupying Wall Street in 2012), this is proof positive that Obama’s economic policies have worked.  I’ve been pointing out since 2009 that pumping fake money in to the economy merely allows everyone to hide the true economic facts and that eventually there will be a renewed collapse.  This inevitable collapse will be worse than the original crash as there is more debt and fake money infecting the economy.  I quite honestly didn’t expect that Bernanke and Obama could keep the ball in the air this long – I also didn’t think that anyone, not even a Ruling Class bankster like Bernanke, would be stupid enough (apparently) to think that he can print money forever.  These days, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Dow hits 20,000 – after all, when the latest ISM – Manufacturing report came out today showing economic contraction, the stock markets initially surged…likely because people believe that bad news means Bernanke will print even more, thus shoving stock prices higher.  But, still, reality is out there.

The reality is that Europe is in a crushing recession – indeed, with youth unemployment in some countries in the 50% range, its in a crushing Great Depression.  China’s economy wobbles along mired in hidden debt and massive corruption (and very fake official government economic reports).  And, I believe, we are in recession – and a recession with a nasty stock market and real estate bubble (sound familiar?).  This article over at Zero Hedge is the best description of our circumstances – and just why a high Dow isn’t a sign of economic health.  I heartily recommend reading it.  It concludes thusly:

A good case can be made for the fact that there is no recovery and that we are just beginning our decline. The efforts of government merely served to drive us more deeply into debt and stave off normal economic healing. If this observation is correct, all that has been accomplished is a postponement and accentuation of the pain to come. My economic sense tells me that is the case.

Whether you accept this conclusion or not, don’t be fooled by the performance of the stock market. There is little other than inflationary Fed policy to justify financial asset prices. Furthermore, recent performance really isn’t special as those living through the 1930s learned. In fact, what has happened recently doesn’t even measure up to the initial rebound that occurred during the Great Depression.

Time will come when this cannot be sustained.  Today, tomorrow, next week, next month, next year.  Pain cannot be avoided – a crash must and will come and it will hurt.  The only thing we can do is try to get some policies which will allow us to climb out of it swiftly.  Unfortunately, it is impossible for us to get such policies on a national scale until Obama leaves office.

Wars Don’t “End”: They are Won, or Lost

In light of Obama’s recent statement that the war must end, I just wanted to point that out.  Wars don’t end, they are won, or lost.  And if you want to know the difference then think of it like this:  if you aren’t winning, then you are losing.  Anyone want to argue that we are winning the war against that ideology which launched an attack on us on 9/11?

Obama is abdicating his responsibility for the safety of the United States.  He wants to pretend the war is over so that he can move on to other things.  His bet is that nothing particularly nasty will happen between now and January 20th, 2017.  He may be right about that – the Islamists are likely to be busy in Libya, Egypt and Syria for the next few years and while they will seek to launch attacks on us, their primary goal will be to consolidate their control over those Muslim nations.  But the war goes on – we may want it to end, but they don’t want it to, and in war it only takes one to tango.

Unless we fight them they will not be stopped – and the longer we refuse to fight them, the stronger they will get and the more bloody and difficult the eventual war will be.  Like the leaders of Britain in 1938, Obama had a choice between war and shame – he choose shame.  He’ll get war, too.  Though the really terrible part of the war may not come as long as Obama is in office.  But come it will – the Islamists are certain they are on the wave of victory and that they will conquer the entirety of Western Civilization.  You might think it foolish.  It might well even be extremely foolish – but it is no more foolish than Hitler thinking he could conquer the world.  It doesn’t matter if its foolish – if the fools think it can be done, they will try it.  And, right now, the fools very much think it can be done…and we’re doing nothing to convince them otherwise.  Indeed, we’re encouraging them – by Obama’s actions – to think that they’ve got it made.

The Frightening Attacks on American Liberty

I’ve been pondering all the scandals – adding to or expanding on those of which originated in Obama’s first term, as detailed in 150 Reasons (you really should pick it up, in light of the latest revelations) – and I have felt a deep chill come over my American heart.  There is a fundamental flaw here – a deep chasm has now opened between those like myself and those who, after these recent revelations, will continue to back President Obama.

The final straw has been the story of the Obama Administration’s pursuit of Fox News correspondent James Rosen – when coupled with the investigation of the Associated Press and the rampant abuse of power by the IRS, what we have here is an Administration which (a) does not care about the law, (b) is willing to act routinely in an un-American manner and (c) views its political opponents as worthy targets for criminal investigations.  Furthermore, even slavish devotion to Obama (as routinely carried out by the Associated Press) is no defense: as in tyrannies past, all you need do to destroy years of being a toady is just once step out of line.

Of course, to set the record entirely straight, this isn’t all just Obama.  For more than a century, now, we’ve had Presidents willing to cut constitutional corners.  Indeed, the first Chief Executive to introduce extra-constitutional acts in to the Administration was Republican Theodore Roosevelt, honored to this day both on the left and the right as a great and good President – but it was Roosevelt who first asserted that unless the Constitution specifically forbade a government act, it was legitimate.  This stands in stark contrast to, say, Grover Cleveland, Andrew Jackson and other, earlier Presidents who had, at times, vetoed legislation not because they thought the law wrong, but because they found no warrant for it in the Constitution.  From Teddy Roosevelt through Wilson to FDR to Nixon to Obama is a straight line – with plenty of others along the way since 1901 also playing fast and loose with the law (really, only Coolidge in the 20’s put a brake on such actions).  But there is a difference, now, in what Obama has done.

And once again setting the record entirely straight, there is a lot of similarity between Obama’s actions and Nixon’s in the early 70’s – especially in using the IRS as a bludgeon against opponents (there are also some strong indicators that Clinton used the IRS in a similar manner, though no where near the brazenness of Nixon and Obama).  But, still, even with the record of Nixon before us, Obama stands in a world apart – taking steps which are not just corrupt or illegal or corner-cutting, but in direct contravention of all that Americans have fought and bled for over more than two centuries.  The stories of IRS agents demanding what amounts of loyalty oaths from pro-lifers not to picket Planned Parenthood and demanding to know how conservatives pray are just disgusting – so horrific and un-American that I never imagined that someone sharing my citizenship could ever ask such things.  These attacks against freedom of speech and religion are joined with attacks on freedom of the press – with the Administration seeking to intimidate reporters in to silence (doubly strange given that 90% of reporters are devoted to Obama).  We have here an Administration which not only doesn’t like opposition (no Administration actually does, of course), but which is determined to stamp out dissent – determined, that is, that only Administration propaganda be allowed in America, all other voices silenced.

This is not – or, at least, should not be – a left/right issue.  This is about basic, American freedoms.  It is no business of government how I pray, whom I decide to picket or what news I choose to report or read.  There is no legitimate reason for government to even query me on such subjects as no such actions can in any way, shape or form risk the liberty and safety of the American people which our government was created to secure.  A thorough investigation needs to be conducted.  All those involved – whether as actual law-breakers or those who knew of it but didn’t report it – must be dismissed from further government employment.  Strict laws must be enacted prohibiting any such action in the future.  Permanent, non-partisan oversight must be established over all federal law enforcement agencies – over any agency which can take an American’s life, liberty or property, that is.

As a final thought – shame on us, fellow Americans.  We have sunk very low and our ancestors must be ashamed of us.  Those who died fighting for our liberty must be turning in their graves.  That it took such shocking actions to even partially wake us up is sad commentary on how used to government power we’ve become.  Our ancestors would have been outraged over all this a long time ago.  It is time to call a halt to this abuse of power – this tyrannical use of the federal government against dissenters.  It is time to restore the balance – with the scales massively weighted in favor of the liberty of the American people.

Time for a Special Prosecutor and a Select Committee

Not, I must stress, because impeachment is on the table – that, my friends, is just about impossible.  To convict President Obama here in 2013 would require the votes of at least 22 Democrat Senators, and that is presuming that all 45 GOP Senators showed some backbone.  Ain’t gonna happen.  But, we still need the Special Prosecutor and the Select Committee.  Here’s why:

As far as the Special Prosecutor goes, because it is appears that quite a lot of law-breaking has been going on in the Obama Administration and we simply cannot trust Attorney General to enforce the law.  Heck, we can’t be certain Holder even knows what a law is (no indications that Obama knows what a law is, either).  When people break laws – and especially when they break laws in positions of public trust – then just must be done.  It is the only way to ensure that the American people have confidence that their government, on the whole, is honestly run.  If rampant criminality is allowed to flourish, then the remaining shreds and tatters of respect for the government will fall – and just about anything can happen, at that point.  Tyrants rise upon the ruins of corrupt governments, my friends – a Special Prosecutor empowered to investigate all of the Obama scandals (especially the IRS, Fast and Furious and voter intimidation issues) will go a long way towards convincing people that crime is punished, even among the powerful.

For the Select Committee, the task is to figure out just how Obama and Co have managed to subvert our government institutions and then to propose legislation to fix the problem.  Clearly, the President has far too much latitude in carrying out the duties of his office and it is time the Imperial Presidency is reigned in and brought firmly back under the rule of law.  Severe criminal penalties must be enacted for even the lowest-level government officials who engage in partisan political activity – this to prevent the bosses from getting the troops to do things, then claiming that it was just low level staffers out of control.  But a 25 year jail term on doing things like the IRS agents did and they’ll pause before following orders.  These days, Congress writes vague laws and leaves it up to the Judiciary and Executive to sort them out – that must stop.  Very specific laws need to be written clearly defining the responsibilities of personnel all up and down the federal chain of command and clearly stating what they may or may not do, especially as regards partisan political activity.  A Select Committee would be able to find out who is doing what, why and how it may be stopped.

Of course, we also need to reign in the power of Congress, and the Courts, as well – but right now it is the Executive (greedy, corrupt and incompetent) which is threatening the liberties of the American people and it must be brought to heel.

And don’t forget, if you really want to know what has happened in the past four years, pick up your copy of 150 Reasons Why Barack Obama is the Worst President in History, today.

UPDATE:  Seems that the White House, getting at a loss, has decided to go with a “we’re idiots” defense regarding Benghazi.  No, you didn’t read that wrong:

“We’re portrayed by Republicans as either being lying or idiots,” said one Obama administration official who was part of the Benghazi response. “It’s actually closer to us being idiots.”

I still think they are liars, too.

How Dare We Call Obama the “Worst President”!

Thus far, that seems to be the general, liberal reaction to the publication of 150 Reasons Why Barack Obama is the Worst President in History.  While we have not been able to detect any liberal who has purchased and read the book before commenting on it, we have had plenty of negative comment, all of which tends towards outrage at the very concept of writing a book critical of The One.  The unreality of the criticism is shown by the complaint that by writing this before the end of Obama’s term in office we can’t be putting things in to historical perspective – this critique is joined with a claim that historians are rating Obama as our 15th greatest President.  I’m not quite sure just how a person wraps themselves around that sort of thing – only a resolute refusal to think can account for it.

But it occurs to me that  maybe a lot of people are not understanding the purpose of the book.  Its not just a hit piece of Obama – it is not designed merely to feed right wing anger, nor serve as a provocation of the left.  The purpose of the book is, quite simply, to ensure that the full truth of Obama is available.  Matt came up with the idea a few days after the election – both of us were flabbergasted that Obama had been re-elected.  As fairly well-informed observers – and seconded by many expert electoral forecasters – we were both of the opinion that Obama was done.  His horrifically bad record and the terrible state of the nation indicated that any reasonably credible alternative would be chosen – and Romney was certainly at least that.  But, in the event, Obama managed to win – with a gigantic reduction in votes over 2008, but still a win.  How to account for it?  Lots of people have put out reasons for this and there is plenty of blame to go around – and much work to do on the GOP/Conservative side of the aisle to refurbish our message and our electoral tactics:  but for Matt and I, a large part of the problem seemed to be that a majority of voters were unaware of just how bad Obama has been.

And this view was borne out as we wrote the book and repeatedly came across absolutely terrible Obama actions which neither of us were aware of prior to writing the book.  In its initial genesis, we were going to write “50 Reasons”.  Then it grew to “100 Reasons”; eventually we flew right past 150 and realized that we could keep going but we’d better cut it off at 150, to ensure that the book was published before Obama left office.  I am quite certain that even the most informed person out there will be several score things in the book which he had not heard of.  Just to take one, small example – answer to yourself honestly:  how many of you know that Obama let out a no-bid contract for a smallpox vaccine which (a) cannot be tested on humans and (b) cost $255 per dose when regular smallpox vaccines cost $3 a dose?  The boss of the vaccine maker is, of course, a big Democrat donor.  And this is really rather small beans compared to other things – it was included in the book because it illustrates the larger pattern of Obama:  which is that everything done is to serve his political needs and there is no law which won’t be broken, at need, in order to serve Obama’s political needs.

Now, as to just why Obama would subordinate everything to his personal, political needs is open for debate – none of us can peer in to his soul and see exactly why he’s doing this.  Maybe it is to impose a socialist dictatorship on us – on the other hand, maybe it just to set up all his friends and cronies in vast wealth so that they can all be fat and happy after Obama leaves office.  I don’t know – and don’t actually care, because the result of a President subordinating all to himself is the same whether he’s a tyrant or a grafter:  the breakdown of government and the end of liberty are the sure results of either action.  And that is why Obama is the worst President in history – because whether from accident or design, Obama’s policies, carried through long enough, could prove fatal to the ability of Americans to successfully govern themselves.  If everything is for sale and everything at the service of the Ruling Class, then even if Obama doesn’t want to be a tyrant, he’ll ensure we eventually get one because a nation will not remain ungoverned – and if we can’t govern ourselves because of government corruption, then someone will govern us…if for no other reason than just to keep the wheels moving and people fed.

This does not have to be put in historical perspective – this is not a debate about whether or not ObamaCare will be as good or bad as Social Security.  Once you take each Obama action and put it in to relation to all, you see what is happening – and it is horrible for our nation.  And it is terribly sad that people didn’t see it in 2012…though, of course, the media hiding things for Obama helped Obama carry it out.  Everything we state in the book is sourced – it was all reported.  But it was reported on page A-32 of the newspaper, or in the last 30 seconds of the Sunday night newscast, or some such.  And it wasn’t at all relentlessly reported, as it all would have been had Obama had an (R) after his name.  We have gathered it together; it is now available for anyone to see, if they want.  I strongly urge everyone to buy it – especially if you are an Obama supporter.  If you are, then you’ve been taken for a ride – a con-artist has bamboozled you in to betraying even your liberalism and its time you found it out.  Meanwhile, fellow conservatives, it is also time for you to see the whole story – because we won’t be able to defeat Obama until we see all of what he’s doing and thus fight against all his efforts.

Being There

A few weeks ago I wrote a post entitle “A Rudderless Ship” and received quite a bit of heat from my conservative colleagues. Their contention is that Obama is at the helm, overseeing the destruction of our nation and doing so with clear intent. I continue to respectively disagree. I don’t disagree that the nation is in decline as that fact is obvious, but what I do disagree with is that Obama is at the helm. He clearly is not. Let’s take a few examples:

–         Benghazi – Obama was last spoken to and informed at 5pm the night of the raid, and was not heard from again until the next morning. His instruction was to “do what you have to do” and then he disappeared into the night.

–         Obamacare – Nancy Pelosi, the Congressional Democratic leadership, the Unions and a myriad of other special interests wrote the Affordable Care Act without as much as a vague outline from the President. In fact, the bill was so piecemealed together, that we had to “pass it to find out what was in it”, and what we are finding out is not good. I highly doubt that to this day, Obama has even read the entire bill.

–         Immigration – after vigorously campaigning on this issue back in 2008, and again in 2012, Obama has all but abandoned any concerted effort to get something passed. In fact Marco Rubio has done more work on immigration in the last few months than Obama has in the last 5 years.

Obama is a complete disgrace as a leader and as a President, preferring instead to demagogue and fund raise rather to actually do the heavy lifting of governing. Unfortunately, we have too many emotionally stunted low information voters in this country that confuse his style of divisive and emotional oratory with leadership. He reminds me of Peter Sellers character Chauncey in the movie Being There, and is as intelligent as well. He also proves the Rush Theorem on a daily basis. I hope that someday a leader for this country will emerge out of the dark abyss that is the Obama regime.
