Saw the Trump Rally tonight – actually, the first time I went pretty much through the whole thing. I tuned in because the crowd wasn’t as large as hyped and I wanted to see how Trump did: he was a blast. I laughed out loud during his description of the walk down the ramp. But outside the “Trump” part of it, he also previewed the themes he’s going to use against Biden in the Fall…and I think the knife twist is always going to be Biden’s silence about the riots and vandalism…and now that they’ve toppled statues of Washington, Jefferson and Grant, Trump is going to be able to put Biden on the spot: if he condemns such things, he alienates his base; if he approves of them, he alienates everyone else.

Will Trump win? I believe he will. But even if he loses, I regret nothing: he’s proven himself to be the first politician since Reagan to be on my side and I’m sticking with him to the end.

It is all an op, guys: all the rioting. I know it got me worried and down for the past week…but as its ground on I, and many others, have started to see the pattern: at night (so the size of the crowd his hidden: it’s likely much smaller than advertised); the instigators stir the pot, and then take off, allowing criminals and idiots to take over; it is always in deep blue areas where the police seem entirely paralyzed…so paralyzed that after a while, you just know they were ordered to be paralyzed (we’ve had our BLM stuff in Vegas; one poor cop even got crippled for life during the protests; but Vegas – blue as it is – can’t afford to have bloody riots on the Strip…and so the cops are backed by the City and County officials and so maintain order); do everything you can to try to provoke a violent response from Trump and his supporters. And that, I think, is what they’re really looking for: dead bodies. Bodies which can be classed as the victims of Trump’s racist AmeriKKKa. At the very least they want you afraid and thinking you’ve already lost…but I also think they’ve seen the polls showing minority voters (especially younger minority voters) warming up to Trump and they hope a dose of riots will get them back on the ranch.

Trouble is, Trump didn’t take the bait…and no one on the Left actually wants to go into a GOP stronghold and stir up trouble. The street thugs who provide the riot muscle won’t come (they aren’t brave: they just want to steal stuff without real risk) and the pencil armed dweebs who make up the bulk of Antifa know they’ll actually get shot. I think that everyone is now irritated and bored with the riots…Normals are going, “Ok, you make your point, whatever the heck it was”.

Ali’s son says his Dad would have nothing but contempt for BLM. I can see it: Ali did well in this country and triumphed over genuine racism. Ali earned everything he had. He might well look at these pampered clowns and wonder what the heck they are whining about.

Mars 2020 launches soon – another rover, this one designed to look specifically for signs of ancient life. Neat thing about it: some of the samples it collects are to be returned to Earth in a joint Nasa/ESA mission in 2031. My view: I think we come up empty on life ever having been on Mars. Too small. Too cold. Lost its atmosphere and surface water too early. And that is another thing: we might well be alone in the universe…or life might be so rare that the chances of one type of life finding another are vanishingly small. For life as we know it, there just seems to be too fine a tolerance: if your planet isn’t the right size, in the right location, made up of the right materials, doesn’t have a sufficient magnetic field…it just ain’t happening. I mean, of course, absent God just making it happen. And I think if we ever do find life out there, the extremely low chances of it happening will tend to prove that God has to make it happen.

They cancelled Aunt Jemima. Why? Who the F knows or really cares? Because the picture is of a black woman and that’s racist, or some drivel. From what I’ve been able to learn, the original subject of the picture was a lady born into slavery who actually made a pretty good life for herself…but, she’s out. And Uncle Ben is on the chopping block, as is Mrs Butterworth. I guess black people can’t appear in advertisements…because Black Lives Matter or some such.

Meanwhile, the cop who killed that guy in Atlanta is being charged with capital murder: which is utterly ridiculous. Even if the use of force wasn’t justified, he still didn’t intend to murder someone. Why should a cop do his duty at this point? I can understand why a police officer would quit – and a lot have; but I can also see why they’d just become time-servers until they can collect a pension. Just look the other way and clean up the bodies. And there’s no way any sane person would want to become a police officer at this point.

Senator Durbin (D-IL) insults Senator Scott (R-SC): but there won’t be riots about this even though its a white guy using racially-charged terms against a black guy…because only some black lives really matter.

Trump shows once again why we love him: he’s saying that Kaepernick should get another shot in the NFL. This is grand-master level trolling. Gonna miss the guy when he’s out of office. Some team is going to have to take him – he was a flash in the pan who had serious accuracy problems, and he’s been out of the game for years…but some NFL team is going to have to offer him an iron-clad, golden contract. In the end, Kaep will suffer an “injury” during practice…because there’s no way he is going to subject himself to a choke-athon in front of a national audience. As for me: I won’t even watch a game this year: the NFL has decided that being woke to please a few jerks is more important than me. Cool. I’ve got other things to do on Sunday.

NBC and Google got caught doing what we already knew they were doing: working together to censor dissident voices. I am completely done with protecting large corporations: in fact, I want them severely punished…driven out of existence, actually. Tax and regulate these bastards into bankruptcy and then let something else emerge…something which will be wary of engaging in politics.

The SCOTUS decision on transgender rights was…a little surprising, but only a little. Gorsuch merely joins a long line of people whom we pour out blood and sweat to get on to the SC only to betray us at the first opportunity. Gorsuch is another one of the libertarian Judges that we became familiar with in Justice Kennedy. So while we might get a favorable religious liberty ruling out of him from time to time, on the really crucial issues of the times, he’s going to side with the far left because libertarians always side with the far left when push comes to shove…because they are far leftists who merely want low taxes. We can’t rely on the Courts – we’re going to have to do this legislatively and simply assert that Congress’ ability to regulate how cases come before the federal courts means we can simply exclude cases about certain issues. That and simply insist that Justices we appoint commit to voting how we want.

Don Surber notes that we no longer have a debate in the United States – it is all about the raw exercise of power. Either we have it, or they do – and if we do have it, we’d better just ram through what we want because we can rely on the Left doing that if they have power. I agree with this: I don’t debate liberals any more. If they decide to comment on my social media posts, I block them. There is no point. They won’t convince me (because I’m not stupid) and I can’t convince them (because they are stupid). All I want to know is how do we obtain power and then how do we quite ruthlessly use whatever power we have. Anything else is a waste of time.

Whatever hill they are attacking – that is the hill to die on. Give them nothing. Make them fight for every inch of ground. And once they have advanced, immediately counter attack. Its time we started treating them like they treat us.

I’ve always admired Zapata: he really did fight a corrupt Ruling Class to actually give land to the people. Naturally, the Mexican Ruling Class murdered him.

The CHAZ in Seattle is partially ridiculous and partially for real: its ridiculous to think clowns who can’t even change a tire can run a Soviet. Its for real in that some of them will learn how to run a Soviet…and they will try again. For this one, I figure Trump should wait until the garbage is hip deep and people are being killed over the scraps before he moves the Guard in. Let them fester for a bit.

Meanwhile, the Democrats are claiming it would be illegal for Trump to put down the rebellion. U.S. Grant could not be reached for comment. The reality: they know this sh**-show, along with “Defund the Police” is poison and they want both to go away as quickly and quietly as possible…before Trump hangs it around their necks like a millstone (spoiler: Trump will hang it round their necks like a millstone).

Democrat House Candidate approves of burning things to the ground. What really caught my eye: she’s a former Air Force colonel. Do not, for a second, think that America’s military officers are on your side: 16 of the 24 years pre-Trump were Democrat Administrations and 8 years were a GOP Admin uninterested in fighting the culture war. Admission and promotion within the officer corps was based on loyalty to the Democrats. Rely on it: if they are ever ordered by a Democrat President to open fire on the people, they will give the orders. I think that most of the troops will refuse to obey, but it won’t be for lack of the officer’s trying. Trump could do us all a favor by cashiering everyone above the rank of colonel.

Trump is doomed – but in the Georgia primary, he got 140,000 more votes than Biden. Surprising for Newsweek, it is a fairly straightforward report, which notes that Trump has driven GOP primary turnout very high time and again this year. We’ll see how this translates in November.

I finished the first draft of “Secrets” and I think it is really good. And then I immediately went into the third book of the series, tentatively titled “Battles”; partially because I’m just on a roll for writing at the moment but, also, because I want the two books to be very integrated and I’m already modify “Secrets” a little bit as things happen in “Battles”. It is a lot more fun dealing with my fictional characters than real life: though I did have a weird dream the other day where Bryce and Rossalyn were arguing with me about how a particular passage in the book should go. I don’t know if any other authors have conversations with their characters…

But, real life goes on!

The official, official, we really mean it totally Expert and this time our polls are right opinion is that Trump is doomed. He’s isolated. Walls are closing in. Yadda, yadda, yadda.

Maybe he is? I don’t really know: no one really does. You can’t rely on anything in the MSM because, as I said a while back, everything they do is designed for the sole purpose of defeating Trump. If they are ever telling the truth in these matters it is only because what is true coincides with what they want. But one smart person I know who follows these things notes that Team Trump is pouring it on in New Mexico. New Mexico went for Hillary by 8 in 2016. Either they’re insane, or they know something…meanwhile, the Democrats are boosting the idea of turning Texas Blue because of this, that or the other reason…but for all the talk of Trump performing badly there in 2016, he did win the State by 9. Can you think of one thing Trump has done which would make the people of Texas who voted for him in 2016 decide that Joe Biden is now the better choice?

And then I saw this video of Trump’s visit to Maine the other day…the streets were lined with cheering crowds of Trump supporters; flags waving, Trump signs everywhere. And it was apparently spontaneous. Let’s see what happens when Trump gets back to rallies.

The Left has gone completely Maoist now – Struggle Sessions included. Don’t know if you’ve seen the video of the Mayor of Minneapolis being forced to leave a BLM rally because he wouldn’t agree to defund the police. And I really love the MSM talking point of this morning that “defund the police” doesn’t mean that they’ll cut funding to the police. Someone at the DNC must have got some poll results! It was laughable on a lot of levels but the really crucial one is that no Democrat will ever agree to cut the pay or benefits of a government worker: that would open up a can of worms they want firmly closed. The Deputy Assistant Director of Diversity Affairs wouldn’t like that one little bit.

All I can say is that my emotions about all this veer from disgust to boredom. That an American would kneel to anything but God is an outrage to the depths of my soul. Meanwhile the rote self-denunciations for being white are just irritating at this point. I’m not typical: in fact, as you know, I’m a little “out there” in my opinions…but I am hopeful that only a small minority of Americans is actually like that. If a majority is, then the nation has been doomed for some time anyway and my hope is for peaceful separation of the parts. And the Left is so deadly dull: they all dress alike, hold the exact same opinions and are impossible to talk to. If we do still have a majority – and November will tell – then we really have to go about defunding the Left…take away their college and corporate sinecures and force them to go get real jobs; that’ll put an end to this as fast as a mandatory 30 day jail sentence would forever end the threat of riots.

We went from “stay indoors to save grandma” to “don’t even talk to grandma until she becomes BLM” rather quickly.

Biden says 10-15% of us are just Deplorable.

Antifa goon beats up an 82 year old man for holding a Trump sign. Do not forget that these people hate you.

Why are we having riots? Because there are some indications that black people are warming up to Trump. Also: the youngsters think this whole riot thing is the hip and cool thing to do…Democrats are now going to try to convince them that the really cool thing to do after a riot is vote Biden. I don’t think that will work.

Ok, maybe not that kind of riot.

Just not sure…

Anyways, riots abound…and they are pretty pointless while being destructive. You see, the Left doesn’t have a lot of real revolutionaries. They’ve got some people willing to loot – but they are mostly about the looting, as such. The other part of it is Antifa types: Bourgeois Bolsheviks who assume that someone will be along shortly to clean up the mess as they go back home to Mom’s basement. As Chesterton pointed out, this sort of thing is worthless…the French Revolution, whatever one thinks about it, accomplished something: the King’s head was definitely chopped off and something new put in his place. This sort of thing is like the Suffragettes of 100 years ago…knocking off the hat of the King, which can be done any number of times without actually changing anything.

I’m sure that someone set this off. The proximate cause wasn’t even Floyd’s death – it was because Floyd’s death was videotaped. Absent that, the “reason” is lacking. But, once that was provided, someone decided to test it and see what would happen…and Democrat city politicians, desperately afraid of African-Americans and that they might not vote Democrat in sufficient numbers in November, hoisted the white flag. That’s why we have these riots spreading around: the word is out that if your local leaders are Democrats, they will do nothing to stop you…so, go steal that TV and burn something down. I’d like to find out who started it – and I do suspect some genuine Bolsheviks are deep underneath the Antifa Bourgeois Bolshies.

Hey, anyone remember Coronavirus? Seems like only Monday it was the chief topic of discussion…but, hey, the GOP States opening up aren’t suffering increased deaths and there are signs the economy is going to come roaring back…and wouldn’t it be convenient if something else grabbed the national spotlight?

Do liars like to lie? I can only assume so, especially of late. Earlier today, I came across a Twitter thread from a blue-checked Never Trump Bulwark person who was asserting:

1. Ford’s story was credible.
2. Reade’s story was ridiculous on its face.

Got that? Ford, who couldn’t remember where or when it happened and had no evidence that she so much as met Kavanaugh is credible while Reade’s story is asserted to be ridiculous. And don’t you wanna know why? Because after Bob Packwood all the Senators were on their best behavior and there never has been a case of Biden acting inappropriately around women! How does one work up the gumption for such an assertion? I mean, the guy is routinely on camera being inappropriate with women. We can only imagine how he is when there’s no one watching. And yet the blue-checked person makes the assertion. Could Reade be lying? Of course she can be – but to make out that she’s an obvious liar while Ford is just as obviously telling the truth is…well…a rather amazing thing to say.

It is amazing because the person saying it – having the mental ability to type a coherent sentence, and thus isn’t a drooling idiot – knows that the assertion is ridiculous and, further, they also know that everyone reading it knows it is ridiculous. In other words, they are lying, they know they are lying, they know you know they are lying…and they further know that not a single person on their side will take note of the lie. They’ll either have the hardihood to agree (and thus join in the lie) or if they are of a more delicate sort, they’ll stay silent. But no one on the side of the Dems/Left/NeverTrump will ever contradict it. I did, of course. And so did many others…but we’re of the right and thus we’re racist, sexist, homophobic closet Nazis who don’t count.

Washington State got conned out of millions in unemployment money by Nigerians. It is, as yet, unknown if a Nigerian prince was involved. Its not so much that our Ruling Class is arrogant and corrupt…it is that they are no good. They suck. Winston Churchill once wrote about how to deal with a Prime Minister:

The loyalties which center upon number one are enormous. If he trips, he must be sustained. If he make mistakes, they must be covered. If he sleeps, he must not be wantonly disturbed. If he is no good, he must be pole-axed.

Our rulers are no good.

The New York Times puts its obituary notices on the front page to make you all feel bad about Trump. I guess it didn’t occur to them that hardly anyone reads their paper…but, be that as it may, they also got some of the names wrong. Once again: our betters are just lousy at their jobs.

The ChiComs are in the process of crushing the last remnant of liberty in Hong Kong. I do feel for the people of Hong Kong, but there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about it. Only a war could change this result, and no one is going to go to war with China over Hong Kong. Only thing I can think to do is to pass a law saying that if you have proof of Hong Kong citizenship as of, say 1/1/20, you get refugee status in the United States, no questions asked.

WHO is trying to burnish its image by sending out as goodwill ambassador…the wife of China’s President. Its like they aren’t even trying any more: “yep, we’re stooges of the ChiComs and we’re laughing about it.”

Outside of Biden’s “you ain’t black” comment, there’s really more for Team Joe to worry about here:

Charlamagne tha God — the black radio host to whom presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden notoriously said, “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re voting for me or Trump, then you ain’t black” — warned that Democrats will face a “voter depression” problem in November, thanks to their likely presidential nominee. He said the best apology is pro-black policies and it’s time for black voters to put the burden on Democrats to win their votes, not take them for granted.

“Well, on top of possible Russian interference and voter suppression, Dems have to worry about voter depression, and that’s people staying home on Election Day because they just aren’t enthused by the candidate,” Charlamagne tha God told MSNBC host Joy Reid.

There’s some stuff out there which indicates that things aren’t going too well for the Democrats. Not just things like fundraising, the GOP win in the CA25 special and voter registration shifts…there’s also some indications that younger voters, including young black (especially male) and young Latino voters are warming up to Trump. Don’t get me wrong – Trump isn’t about to win 50% or even 30% of the black vote. But there are some indications he could get to 20%. That would be more than double his African-American support from 2016. That would be catastrophic for the Democrats…if Trump does well among African-Americans and Latinos, not only will Biden not be able to flip MI and PA, he’ll lose NM and NV, into the bargain. We won’t know it until we know it: we’re really going to have to wait for election day on this one…so much has been shifting so fast, no one can really say. But I’m wondering if Biden isn’t a Democrat version of Barry Goldwater?

Book Writing Open Thread

Sorry I’ve been very slack lately, but over the past four days I wrote 38,000 words on Secrets. It just flowed out of me. I reviewed it today and it is really pretty good. No, scratch that; its very good. Having a hard time pulling away from it. Anyways, I hope you guys like it, when I put it out. Probably in a couple months.

The lockdowns were a mistake, in my view. I agreed with them and I fault no one who imposed them: but it is clear by now that the disease is not a super-killer. We needed do no more than a bit of social distancing and a reduction of venue capacity; maybe down to 25% at the start, and then slowly climbing as time went on. What has really driven deaths in the United States is old people and something like 40% of those deaths are in nursing homes…burdened by the orders of Democrat politicians to accept Coronavirus patients. Democrats are keeping up the lockdowns and fear mongering entirely for political reasons at this point: they are convinced it hurts Trump. Maybe it will – but always remember that they put politics in front of the good of the United States.

Meanwhile, Trump says he won’t go for a second lockdown if we get a second wave of Coronavirus. My view: this is the second wave and we’ll find out it got here in October.

The Flynn judge who is trying to act as prosecutor and judge over Flynn has been called out – and now has to explain himself to an appellate court. I believe that Sullivan will be smacked down quite firmly but it is worrisome that this is the sort of person who has been placed on the bench in the United States. This is a mockery of justice – and how many are there like him? I don’t think our Progressives realize what will happen if the broad mass starts to feel that the judiciary is partisan.

An idea has been put out there that no Blue State should be bailed out unless they agree to allow their Red areas to secede and form new States. This idea has merit, in my view.

With some luck, the USA will returned to manned space missions next week. I hope it works and part of why I’m voting Trump in 2020 is that he seems to understand that the United Stats needs to do the big things…that NASA is supposed to get us to Mars, no try to burnish the thin scientific achievements of Islam. A vote for Biden means a return to doing nothing in space…a vote for Trump means we go back to the Moon and go on to Mars.

Trump is at long last getting rid of the people who have been undercutting him from within – the Deep State operatives and Obama holdovers…Ric Grennell is especially cleaning house in the intelligence agencies. And what is ol’ Mitt’s response?

The firings of multiple Inspectors General is unprecedented; doing so
without good cause chills the independence essential to their purpose. It is a threat to accountable democracy and a fissure in the constitutional balance of power.

It just reeks of surrender – but, also, sheer ignorance. The Executive branch isn’t supposed to balance itself…Congress and the Court balance the Executive…to have people in your own Administration who are working against you isn’t balance, it is a negation of an Executive. We elected Trump to be the guy in charge of the Executive. per the Constitution, there is only one person in charge of that branch: the President. He decides 100% of what Executive branch policy will be and everyone in the Executive branch has to shut up and soldier, or quit. That is how it is supposed to be – and it is how it must be. Having IG’s who see their job as curbing the President – rather than rooting out lawbreakers and people refusing to carry out Administration policy – is insane. It must be stopped – and I’m glad Trump is finally stopping it.

Along these lines it has been noticed that in the whole Trump-Russia charade, Mitch McConnell has been rather AWOL. Don’t get me wrong: he’s good for a lot of things, but on this he’s been absent…and thus allowing people like the now-former Senate intel chief Burr have his way…and Burr’s way was to provide cover for the Deep State. Now that Burr is out of the committee due to his sordid financial trickery (and it seems to be raking in Feinstein, at least a bit), it is time for McConnell to think anew and act anew – as President Trump urged:

Mitch, I love you, but this is 100% true. Time is running out. Get tough and move quickly, or it will be too late. The Dems are vicious, but got caught. They MUST pay a big price for what they have done to our Country. Don’t let them get away with this!

Mitch McConnell has spent years pretending as though the Russian collusion hoax never happened. If he thinks he’s going to keep the Senate majority and confirm more judges without addressing the hoax and holding the hoaxers accountable, he’s lost his mind.

McConnell is old school, as I think we all know. Not a bad guy. Has some genuine Conservative views. Not a crook like a Burr or a Clinton is…but, still, someone who doesn’t want to rock the system…the various gravy trains which flow through DC and the corporate world and which he and his family have benefited from. But now is a time for choosing: them, or us? If McConnell chooses us, then not only will his position as Majority Leader be solidified but he’ll be an American hero. If he chooses them…then all bets are off.

The sheriff of Fresno County, California, said she is unable to enforce the state’s stay-at-home order because she’s too busy rearresting accused criminals who were released due to the state’s new “zero-dollar bail” policy.

Some people are getting a little too frisky and talking of Red California. Ain’t gonna happen, folks. California will go for Biden by 20 points in November. But the combination of lockdown insanity and things like no-bail for criminals (and laws which essentially allow someone to steal $900 worth of stuff and them come back the next day and steal another $900 worth) might be wearing out the Democrats’ welcome even in deep Blue California. But this might help us flip a few House seats in November…and California will eventually become, if not Red, at least Purple. At the end of the day, Latino voters might well be in favor of lots of Progressive ideology, especially as it relates to government spending…but no one but rich, white Liberals favor things like letting criminals out of jail while locking up moms for taking their kids to the park. The Democrats are working hard to turn Texas Blue and they are having some success…but not as much as they want. But, meanwhile, Florida is the next state to go Red and even California isn’t the firm fortress Democrats think it is.

Writing a Book Open Thread

Still working on Secrets – you all have got your copy of Mirrors, right? – and I’m enjoying it immensely. Don’t really know much about the whole fiction author thing but I do wonder if authors are supposed to fall in love with their characters? Bryce and Fred are just great guys while Celeste and Rossalyn are proving to be very tough and resourceful, at any rate. I’m just under 60,000 words on the sequel and it is coming to its climax; probably another 30-40,000 words to go. I’ve introduced several new good guys and a couple new bad guys, as well (one of which is a woman, to sort of balance it out – all my ladies have proven to be good eggs, so far; so I thought I needed a bad lady). As happened to a much better work, the tale is growing in the telling and, at least for me, three or four books of this won’t be enough. I’ve also had to draw a map of Hadwin’s world – it was getting difficult to orientate what direction everyone was going without it. Now I understand why Tolkien also needed one.

Flynn case dismissed, right? Well, not quite – the judge in the case is proving to be an obvious ally of the Deep State and is now inviting Trump opponents to tell him why he should keep the case going, even though the prosecutor says there is no crime to charge Flynn with, or even anything to start an investigation over. Just amazing. One theory I’ve seen is that they want to force Trump to pardon Flynn – to keep some patina of “he’s guilty” on it all. Maybe – but it also might be sheer, hate-filled bloody mindedness at this point.

Acting DNI Grennell has declassified lots and lots of stuff and this is allowing us, for the first time, to really see the picture of the coup attempt. It is going to be very hard to not vote for Grennell in the GOP primary in 2024, should he decide to run. He’s showing that he’s got the most important Trumpist aspect: guts. And if he can be brave while also being less abrasive than Trump, he might become an unstoppable political force. We’ll see what the future brings.

RSM on the Arbery case. I’m mostly agnostic on the case because, well, if the MSM is pushing it hard (and they are) then someone is lying. There’s no way the MSM would push a true story. At the very least, there doesn’t seem to be an actual racial angle here, though the MSM and its minions are already saying that Arbery was killed because he was black. Maybe the shooters are guilty of murder or manslaughter – that is for a jury to decide and unless they plead out, this will go to a jury and the jury will hear the actual facts of the case: and those facts may end up strongly at variance with what the MSM has been saying.

Andrew Cuomo forced nursing homes to take Coronavirus patients and lots of people died because of this order – today, he Tweets this out:

Any nursing home that fails to follow health procedures will lose their license.

Remember: If a nursing home cannot provide adequate care, they MUST call the State Department of Health to transfer the resident.

He’s counting on the MSM to do their job – pretend the order he gave never happened.

Even Willie Brown is taking exception to Newsome’s draconian shutdowns. It was revealed that Coronavirus probably first showed up in Nevada in December…and that means by the time we went into lockdown in March, what was going to happen was already baked in. As soon as China and WHO decided to lie about this, there was nothing we could do which was going to really change things. Now, to be sure, the March lockdowns made sense given the information we had at the time. But, now we know: and further lockdowns are at best pointless, at worst destructive. So, why are Democrat governors keeping them? Two reasons:

1. They love their emergency powers.
2. The more misery there is, the better they think November will go for them.

Looks like Obama is signalling the troops on how he wants them to deal with his Administration’s actions vis a vis Trump – I noticed on social media yesterday an endless chorus of Democrats and Never Trumpers assuring quite certainly that Trump has no chance…it was really rather astonishing and I was wondering what was up? This wasn’t the usual Trump Is Doomed stuff…this was absolute assurance that Trump will not win in November. Now I’ve figured out why they went overboard on the predictions: they are signalling Obama people that if they just hold out until January, this all goes away…Biden will drop everything and everyone who committed a crime will be protected. Obama doesn’t want anyone to turn.

Don Surber notes that President Trump learned the lesson of Nixon. First off, don’t be guilty but, also very important, don’t fire anyone and disclose everything. In other words: let the fools impale themselves on a false Narrative.
