More Than Likely, Trump Has Already Won

I keep in touch with some of the Experts on Twitter…not the really famous ones because, well, they’re all insane. But, still, Experts who are sure that Trump is doomed…all their talk these days is already post-mortem: how did Trump lose; what comes after, blah, blah, blah. Every now and again I point out, in a short comment, that Trump is going to win. I never get a response to such comments.

What amazes me is how sure they are – and, hey, maybe they’re right? But they’ll only be right by accident. They have their charts and graphs and polls…and it is all, in my view, quite meaningless. I checked the Real Clear Politics average of polls before election day, 2016: of the eleven polls used, ten showed a Hillary win…some by a solid margin. Now, the election was just about a tie…Trump won big in the Electoral College and Hillary, via California and New York City, eked out a popular vote win. The bottom line is that it was anyone’s race…a bit of change here or there, and the result would have been different. Given this, a series of eleven polls, done honestly, would have shown four or five with Trump in the lead. There’s just no two ways about it: a poll of the same population using roughly the same criteria shouldn’t come out very different from any other poll. Ten of eleven for Hillary. Either just stupendous coincidence…or deliberate falsehood.

I go with “deliberate falsehood”. And I can already hear the objection: “they wouldn’t all lie.” Yes, they darned well would, and do. Do you think they care about their credibility? Does anyone in the Ruling Class? These guys brazenly lie about everything…but they’re going to be straight shooters with their polls? Give me a break.

This is especially true when you look back to earlier in 2016 when they all had Hillary up like 10-12 points. Rely on it, guys: millions upon millions of people did not change their mind about Hillary between July and November 2016. She was an entirely known quantity. Everyone had already made up their minds about her the moment she announced. Her vote total was always pretty much baked in – the only question of 2016 was whether any GOPer would either outpace her vote or, as Trump did, flip enough in the crucial States to take it all. And anyone with real data knew how the election was going very far in advance: it really surprised no one in the know. Remember: she cancelled her fireworks display. She knew. Or at least her team knew: they might have kept it from her. What will happen on November 3rd of this year is also pretty much baked in. Outside something stupendous happening, people already know Joe Biden and Donald Trump and have made up their minds about them. Trump has either already lost, or already won.

I think he’s already won: and it’ll get huge amount of pushback if you mention it to the Experts, but the tale is in the primary vote. There’s no way that was by accident…that, as I said before, was a test-run of Trump’s November turnout machine..and he’s turning out people in droves, including many who never or rarely vote. These are people who will not change their mind and vote for Biden all of a sudden. In my view, what you see in political reporting is just noise…partly just to get you to watch or click, but mostly just trying to mask reality in the hope that something, anything, will turn up to derail Trump.

This should really surprise no one: but, it does and will. Mostly because the Experts, almost to a man and woman, still view Trump as entirely illegitimate. They then work back from there to find reasons to justify their notion. It becomes an endless feedback loop of false data reinforcing itself. Trump is the President; the power of incumbancy is massive. Trump has a gigantic money supply; vastly more than he had in 2016 and a virtually unlimited ability to raise more as needed. Trump has a loyal base of voters who support him, in contrast to Biden’s voters who are almost entirely about voting against Trump. The Democrat base is going insane and now they are percolating up with demands to remove Mount Rushmore. I mean, seriously: these people are freaking nuts. And the more nuts they get, the more fearful average Americans get. Gun sales are setting records…and I suspect that a lot of people who bought guns were not part of Trump’s core support, which is already largely armed. No, this is suburban wine moms and their husbands fearful that a mob is going to loot their house. Most will still vote Democrat…but I bet some millions don’t. They either stay home or very quietly pull the lever for Trump.

And we’ll see how it all comes out. Personally, I expect to be sitting here on November 3rd and watching Florida called for Trump at about 8:30 pm Eastern, with the MSMers holding off on calling Pennsylvania as they wait for the Biden campaign to concede. I could be wrong but I don’t think I am.

OK, false advertising. But it is kinda nice.

Anyways, I finished Secrets, the sequel to Mirrors and I’m actually working on the third book. By that, I mean I finally had to put a lid on Secrets at about 110,000 words and I’m 30,000 into the third book, already. Being locked down does have its benefits! It is a smashing story of love, magic, war and friendship.

Trump’s Executive Order on hiring could be crucial…but only in a 2nd Trump term. If Biden wins, he’ll undo it immediately (and Roberts won’t say “boo” about it). But if Trump is re-elected then he’s basically allowing himself to hire whomever he wants…and that means as people leave government, he can staff it up with Civil Service-protected hires who are on our side. Especially if we can also win in 2024, this will be Trump’s most important legacy…having people like us actually in there, irremovable, affecting policy for decades to come.

And “our side” is what matters, folks. Our victories are always partial and short lived because after we struggle for ages and finally get our little win, their side is always in there to slowly whittle away what we did. We need people on our side in there, making sure that what we win stays won.

Now, if you’ve been watching the news and social media: first, get the psychological and spiritual help you need. After that: ignore everything you saw. I was getting a little down, as well. But then I heard something about the primary turnout for Trump and…I looked it up. It is astonishing. We’re talking massively more people are turning out for Trump in 2020 than turned out for Obama in 2012. I’m serious: it isn’t just a little increase, it is massive. In some cases, orders of magnitude larger. And it isn’t just in Red States: Blue and Purple States have seen it, as well. What does this mean? After all, in both cases it is meaningless: the nominee is already set. And that’s just it: someone on Team Trump is getting these people to show up. We’ve been told that Team Trump has built a ground game like none has ever seen before…and now it is being tested out in the primaries. My bet: large numbers are former Dems and/or rare voters…ie, people who will not show up in polling, especially if they are doing a likely voter screen.

‘Rona panic is again the order of the day: the spike in cases, if it is even real and not merely the result of testing, is clearly 100% caused by the protests…but the Left doesn’t care. They want their panic back because they are afraid of Trump rallies and want an excuse to keep Biden in the basement. This is not the action of a party which thinks it is about to win in a landslide.

If you’re needing a little morale boost:

Interviews with more than 50 state, district and county Republican Party chairs depict a version of the electoral landscape that is no worse for Trump than six months ago — and possibly even slightly better. According to this view, the coronavirus is on its way out and the economy is coming back. Polls are unreliable, Joe Biden is too frail to last, and the media still doesn’t get it.

“The more bad things happen in the country, it just solidifies support for Trump,” said Phillip Stephens, GOP chairman in Robeson County, N.C., one of several rural counties in that swing state that shifted from supporting Barack Obama in 2012 to Trump in 2016. “We’re calling him ‘Teflon Trump.’ Nothing’s going to stick, because if anything, it’s getting more exciting than it was in 2016.”

This year, Stephens said, “We’re thinking landslide.”

That does seem, on the face of it, rather a stretch. The official word is we’re too polarized as a nation to allow any candidate to get to landslide territory (let’s call it getting 56%+ of the vote). To a certain extent, this is obvious: the polarization is seen in the fact that the Left – which makes up the core of the Democrat party – considers the United States to be an inherently racist nation unworthy of support unless it becomes entirely Leftist. We on our side, of course, think the United States is inherently good and merely needs to live up to it’s founding ideals. That is quite a polar opposite view of the same set of facts.

But, in the end, how large is the Left? Meaning: how many people in the United States actually subscribe to the notion that America is inherently evil? That is what November will tell us. It might be a plurality. It might be either an Electoral or popular vote majority. If it is then not only do we lose, but we lose forever: if a majority consciously decides to install a government committed to acting on the assumption that America 1776-2020 is evil, then we’ve lost the fight. Its over: we just have to adjust ourselves to living in a new America which will be quite different from the old.

But, still, that is a pretty confident feeling quoted in the article, isn’t it? Now, to be sure, maybe someone is just trying to bamboozle: all political campaigns say things are going just swell no matter how doomed they are. But they do have some data points to back up their assertion: there is argument over just how many people signed up for Trump’s rally in Tulsa, but the bottom line is that many hundreds of thousands of people signed up for a venue holding less than 20,000 people. That’s a lot. None of us can conceive, even with popular music acts, Biden getting that kind of response. Then there’s things like voter engagement: over the ‘Rona lockdowns the campaigns were forced to go almost entirely online…and Team Trump simply blows Team Biden out of the water in online engagement. It isn’t just a little bit better: it is orders of magnitude better. I’ve also seen good data on GOP voter registration and time and again at Trump rallies, significant portions of attendees are Democrats or rare/new voters. I’ve always said look not at what people say, but at what they do: what people are doing is turning to Trump, at least in the data we can see. Only the public opinion polls are against Trump. Maybe they are right this time? If they are, Trump is going to be destroyed in November. Figure the odds they are right, though.

My view is this: people who aren’t Democrats but are Democrat-leaners – people who mostly vote Democrat but are not committed to the Democrat notion that America is inherently racist – are looking around at riots and absurd lockdowns (DeBlasio actually said – I’m not kidding – in response to Jews reopening their kid’s parks, that he won’t allow people to “take the law into their own hands”: this after allowing nuts-to-butts rioting and protesting by Leftwing groups) and perhaps reassessing just how bad Trump really is? I mean, sure he’s rude and crude and he’s not at all the nice, made-up politician mouthing bromides about peace, love and unity that these Democrat-leaners are used to voting for…but he isn’t the guy locking down people for stupid reasons nor allowing rioters to run amok in the city. How many such people, without ever admitting it, will pull the lever for Trump even if it is a mere rebuke to Democrats who have gone off the rails?

We’ll find out in November.

Trump is at long last getting rid of the people who have been undercutting him from within – the Deep State operatives and Obama holdovers…Ric Grennell is especially cleaning house in the intelligence agencies. And what is ol’ Mitt’s response?

The firings of multiple Inspectors General is unprecedented; doing so
without good cause chills the independence essential to their purpose. It is a threat to accountable democracy and a fissure in the constitutional balance of power.

It just reeks of surrender – but, also, sheer ignorance. The Executive branch isn’t supposed to balance itself…Congress and the Court balance the Executive…to have people in your own Administration who are working against you isn’t balance, it is a negation of an Executive. We elected Trump to be the guy in charge of the Executive. per the Constitution, there is only one person in charge of that branch: the President. He decides 100% of what Executive branch policy will be and everyone in the Executive branch has to shut up and soldier, or quit. That is how it is supposed to be – and it is how it must be. Having IG’s who see their job as curbing the President – rather than rooting out lawbreakers and people refusing to carry out Administration policy – is insane. It must be stopped – and I’m glad Trump is finally stopping it.

Along these lines it has been noticed that in the whole Trump-Russia charade, Mitch McConnell has been rather AWOL. Don’t get me wrong: he’s good for a lot of things, but on this he’s been absent…and thus allowing people like the now-former Senate intel chief Burr have his way…and Burr’s way was to provide cover for the Deep State. Now that Burr is out of the committee due to his sordid financial trickery (and it seems to be raking in Feinstein, at least a bit), it is time for McConnell to think anew and act anew – as President Trump urged:

Mitch, I love you, but this is 100% true. Time is running out. Get tough and move quickly, or it will be too late. The Dems are vicious, but got caught. They MUST pay a big price for what they have done to our Country. Don’t let them get away with this!

Mitch McConnell has spent years pretending as though the Russian collusion hoax never happened. If he thinks he’s going to keep the Senate majority and confirm more judges without addressing the hoax and holding the hoaxers accountable, he’s lost his mind.

McConnell is old school, as I think we all know. Not a bad guy. Has some genuine Conservative views. Not a crook like a Burr or a Clinton is…but, still, someone who doesn’t want to rock the system…the various gravy trains which flow through DC and the corporate world and which he and his family have benefited from. But now is a time for choosing: them, or us? If McConnell chooses us, then not only will his position as Majority Leader be solidified but he’ll be an American hero. If he chooses them…then all bets are off.

The sheriff of Fresno County, California, said she is unable to enforce the state’s stay-at-home order because she’s too busy rearresting accused criminals who were released due to the state’s new “zero-dollar bail” policy.

Some people are getting a little too frisky and talking of Red California. Ain’t gonna happen, folks. California will go for Biden by 20 points in November. But the combination of lockdown insanity and things like no-bail for criminals (and laws which essentially allow someone to steal $900 worth of stuff and them come back the next day and steal another $900 worth) might be wearing out the Democrats’ welcome even in deep Blue California. But this might help us flip a few House seats in November…and California will eventually become, if not Red, at least Purple. At the end of the day, Latino voters might well be in favor of lots of Progressive ideology, especially as it relates to government spending…but no one but rich, white Liberals favor things like letting criminals out of jail while locking up moms for taking their kids to the park. The Democrats are working hard to turn Texas Blue and they are having some success…but not as much as they want. But, meanwhile, Florida is the next state to go Red and even California isn’t the firm fortress Democrats think it is.

A slight modification to the US Constitution:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Nothing in this Amendment shall be construed as prohibiting the imposition of civil and criminal penalties for the publication of false information.

Just a bit of spitballin’ here – but as I said in an earlier post, we must do something to end the Reign of Lies which has warped our politics for the past 50 or maybe even 80 years. I really am all ears here – but please don’t try to tell me that we must retain the current system which allows the MSM – in service of the Democrats – to brazenly lie all the time without any possibility of punishment. I realize that it is a very dicey thing, but I can’t see the Republic surviving if lies are allowed to go unchecked.

And, in fact, I think that God – in a way – commands us to do this: we are not supposed to allow lies to fly unchecked. Something must be built into the system as a corrective to falsehood.

Our Founders built the most brilliant system of government in human history and it has stood the test of time, but the Founders, understanding that people will lie for political advantage, never imagined a time when 95%+ of the news media in our country would (a) be liars and (b) be liars in the service of only one political party.

And speaking of lies – the Democrats and their MSM lapdogs really are circling the wagons for Biden, aren’t they? What amuses me most is that there are still some so-called “Conservative” voices out there claiming they are shocked at the double standard between Kavanaugh and Biden. To me its, oh, puhleeese! Of course the MSM and Democrats were going to treat Biden entirely differently from Kavanaugh. Everyone – including Kavanaugh’s accusers – knew the accusations against Kavanaugh were lies from the get-go; the Democrats, MSMers and Never Trumpers just pretended they thought otherwise because it was their shot to take down a Trump court nominee. But now that we have accusers of Biden – far more credible accusers – the problem is that if we go along with the accusations that would hurt a Democrat. And you know we can’t have that (and in case you were wondering why I suddenly got in the mood to amend the Constitution, this is it). Don’t look for truth, logic or any semblance of basic decency: this is about getting power…and for the Democrats anything that gets them power is good.

Some are talking that Biden can’t survive this when added to his obvious mental decline – I say: watch them. As long as Biden can stand up with his eyes open for five minutes, the DNC and MSM will prop him up as the second coming of Pericles. They have to – to ditch Joe means getting someone else, and if that someone else isn’t Bernie then the Democrats will be faced with open revolt. The only hope the Democrats have here is that after Biden picks his VP, he keels over. Absent that, they are going with him to the end.

The Experts are still saying that Trump is doomed – though the smarter Experts (those who can tie their own shoes) add the caveat “if the election were held today”. Of course, the election won’t be held today – but if it were, it would still be a decision between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Anything is possible in politics but I can’t see the American people, faced with crisis and economic crash, turning to a 78 year old, addle-brained political hack. Maybe they will – but until it happens, I won’t say it will happen. And, as it turns out, if you look at some of the voter registration numbers, social media activity and fundraising, it seems to me that Trump is well-positioned for a win in November.

I also wonder what real affect the Democrat governors will have on November? It is obvious that they aren’t acting for health and safety but merely to keep people miserable in the hope that this will help Biden. Its an open question as to whether or not that theory is correct…but I wonder if the actions like Oregon’s governor saying she’ll keep the shutdown until June is storing up a level of outrage against Democrats? No way to know – but I do know that some people are rather irked by it all. At the end of the day, we’re not going to have a cure for this thing, ever (even a vaccine won’t be 100% against it). Most of us will catch it at some point. Isn’t it time for we adult citizens of the Republic to just start assessing the risks for ourselves? I think so. And I wonder how people will long-term react to a Democrat governor saying you can’t go to the park?

Well, I’m officially work from home, now. Got all the stuff I need; so, one less thing to worry about.

The Democrats, in my view, really messed up on the stimulus…not that the GOP plan is all that great, but trying to lard up the program with abortion and green new deal stuff was an act of political idiocy I don’t think we’ve ever seen in human history. But, they did it – and I think it is because they are in a closed-loop: they simply don’t get much information which isn’t a mere variation on Orange Man Bad.

A recent poll showed Trump’s overall support rising and especially giving him high marks on handling the virus and the economy – it was the sort of poll number that would make him invincible if it holds to November. But the odd thing I saw in it was that Trump’s support among GOPers and Independents on the virus was about the same (around 60%) while his support among Democrats was sub 30%. Theoretically, everyone is getting the same sort of news, right? Well, I guess not: Democrats are clearly getting a set of information which is widely at odds with what GOPers and Independents are getting…and I think this is largely a function of GOPers and Independents tuning out the MSM while Democrats still follow every word of it. If you only watched CNN and MSNBC, you would believe that we’re days away from bodies piled up in the streets and 30% unemployment for a decade.

Now, it’ll be interesting to see what happens if, in the event, we don’t have bodies piled up in the streets and the economy makes a brisk recovery through the Summer. How will our Democrats square that with what they watch on the news? If it finally does penetrate, then Trump may win in an epic landslide.

Be that as it may, no one can really predict what is going to happen in November – though that hasn’t stopped our Experts from proclaiming that Trump is doomed. The situation is entirely fluid and while Trump is getting good poll numbers, now, a major change for the worse in a week or two would likely knock him down. Until it all happens, we won’t know what will happen. But I’m suspecting as bad as the virus might get, it won’t be a catastrophe and, also, as bad a hit as the economy is taking, it won’t take us long to get back out of it. And with Biden – who looks like he’s aged ten years the past month – leading the Democrat charge, I’m liking our chances in November.

Parishoners bought their ill priest a respirator. Priest found out someone else needed it and gave it up. The priest has now died. No greater love…

The Dow rose 2,112 points and so we’re back in Obama’s economy again – we’ll be in Trump’s if it drops tomorrow, for those keeping score at home.

The virus is not a flu – and you should familiarize yourself with the symptoms. Still, after all we’ve learned, the prime markers seem to be fever and a very bad cough. But it can also start with other symptoms and you can actually start to feel better before getting very much worse. Stout hearts, though: most people who get it survive and most who die have underlying conditions. If you have underlying health conditions, I really do suggest you barricade yourself at home and ride this out.

Trump wants to re-open the economy as fast as possible and in general I agree: we can’t stay locked down for a very long time. I think it should be a phased re-opening. As we get better numbers on how many are infected and what the real mortality rate is, we’ll be able to assess the actual danger and start letting up on the restrictions. Overall, oldsters should probably be the last to come out – and everyone who is work from home had probably better stay there for at least a couple months.

Lockdown Thoughts

Allergy season is in full swing in Las Vegas – and its a bad one; things are coated in pollen. This means I’ve got a headache, runny nose and a cough…so, every five minutes or so I’m worrying “am I sure this is allergies?”. Tiresome, to say the least.

But, I did check CDC for symptoms of Coronavirus – and if you haven’t, the primary symptoms are fever, coughing and shortness of breath. If you get real bad shortness of breath, confused or turn a bit blue, that’s when its time to go to a doctor. The word is that the oldsters are in the highest risk – especially over 65. I’m under 65 – and in pretty good health overall.

How are the lockdowns going with you? I’ll be heading to work from home as soon as I get this odd device which allows me to prove remotely that I work for my company…it was shipped out a while back ago, but it hasn’t arrived. I’ve noticed the mail isn’t exactly a thick packet any longer, either. I suspect that transport capacity has been commandeered for medical and food deliveries. Be that as it may, I’ll eventually be work from home and for a good while, too. And there’s nothing to do in Vegas as everything other than necessities are closed. So, we cleared a much larger vegetable garden this year than usual.

I still view this is an overreaction. But, that’s a horse well outside the barn: the reaction is what it is and it will have its effect. The primary effect, outside the virus, is the crushing of the economy. I expect 20% unemployment in a month or two. But I also expect us to roar back once this thing clears. The direct payments of money to people will be a great psychological help…and it will result in a fairly large pool of unused money once we’re allowed to go outside again. In the end, this pricking of the Dow price may be a blessing in disguise…everyone was wondering how long the market could keep surging like that. Well, that’s one less worry…it’ll probably drop a bit more before its over but when its time to go back to work, it’ll have no place to go but up. Do not look at your portfolio…and I’m thinking if you haven’t sold by now, don’t sell at all…wait for the rebound.

The stimulus is gigantic and will be larded up with pork – but it can’t be overestimated how good people will feel that in this time of crisis they’ve got the money for the necessities. This will have a political effect. Also having a political effect is how tin-eared the Democrats are on all this. They are still stuck on Orange Man Bad when Trump is out there leading doggedly in a time of national crisis. They could jump on board and prove to people that they are about something other than hating Trump…but they can’t manage that trick. I’ve heard unprompted praise of Trump from people you wouldn’t remotely think as prospective Trump voters…they are pleased he’s hammering the fear-mongering press and are waiting for their stimulus checks.

China is a lousy nation we should have nothing to do with – their lies (and the lies continue, I bet: I ain’t buying their story they’ve had no new cases) are what allowed a completely manageable problem to become a global crisis. And those EU-weenies begging for Chi-Com help are just morons, plain and simple. The Chinese can’t help – like all tyrannies, they only look splendid on the surface. Underneath it is a nation where most still live in grinding poverty and prisoners fill the camps. They’ve got a couple showplace cities to wow the rubes of the West while the rest of the country is garbage…and that is why this virus came from there: because they don’t know how to actually deal with something as simple as a flu.

The good news here is that, at last, people are coming around to the view I’ve been harping on for more than a decade: we have to make, mine and grow our own stuff. Having our supply chain outside our control is national suicide. Bring our factories back home…at least to the Americas, where we can keep an eye on them.

Bernie is supposed to win the Nevada Caucus this Saturday – but I’ve been seeing on TV that Democrats are complaining about how bad the early voting went (and how the heck do you early vote in a caucus? Who is keeping the records?). Meanwhile, the Culinary Union – 800 lb gorilla in Nevada Politics – has been putting out anti- Bernie flyers. My guess: they are going to try and rig it against Bernie. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, to heck with wanting to run against Bernie – we want Bloomberg! This guy is the archetype arrogant, rich jerk…thinks he’s smart because he’s rich and drips with contempt for anyone poorer than he is. If the Democrats nominate him, we’ll destroy them up and down the ballot.

Coronavirus slowly gets frightening:

More than 700 people in Washington State are being publicly supervised for coronavirus, according to new results from the Washington State Department of Health.

The department said Tuesday 746 people in the state are under public health supervision, including those at risk of having been exposed to novel coronavirus. These people are monitoring their health under the supervision of public health officials.

President Trump to visit Los Angeles to check on homelessness and 2028 Olympic prep: going right into the belly of the beast! It is good – it will allow Trump to be front and center being President, attack Democrats on their incompetence…and fire up GOP voters in California to turn out in November. There is, of course, zero chance Trump wins California this year…and I mean zero. But, OTOH, I’ve seen some reports that California Latinos are starting to trend a bit GOP (upper class whites are trending even more Democrat). I can definitely see it: the bottom line is that Latinos have seen big improvements under Trump and most of them are probably tired of the corruption and incompetence of California’s Democrats. What the heck does Jose in Compton, who just wants to raise his family, have in common with Democrats who are too busy fighting climate change to clean the sh** off the city streets? We’ll see how this plays out – Trump wants a popular vote win. He doesn’t need it, but he wants it…he wants to put an end to all Democrat arguments against him. And there were several million pro-GOP voters in California who didn’t show up in 2016 because there was no reason to…Trump wants to give them a reason to show up.

Wow and wow and just more wow. It was a grand and glorious thing – hitting on the massive accomplishments of Trump’s term but also bringing everyone to tears several times…if you didn’t get misty eyed over Brigadier General McGee and his grandson, then you’re just a dirty commmie.

How in heck are these Democrats going to beat this guy? I guess we’ll see what they do – but Nancy tearing up her copy of the speech as Trump stepped down is an indicator of how bad this is going for them.

So Pelosi and her Congressional minions were on their way to a Congressional junket and while they were on the bus heading towards the airport, Trump cancelled the trip and they were forced to turn around and return to the Capitol.

This is the most glorious thing I’ve ever seen in politics.

Sure, the Never Trump people are in lockstep outrage with the Democrats/MSM, but no one cares what any of them think.

Tit for tat – no more letting the Democrats be nasty and no counter-fire.
